Cordelia turned to stare at her and Lily kept her cool, giving that soft grin that she always had. Then, Cordelia said it and Lily was about to give a cocky little bow- but before she did Cordelia added that it would be okay with her if Lily was indeed a werewolf. That gave Lily pause, causing her to tilt her head to the side. "You're not scared?" it was an attempt at a tease, but it came out more of a tone of surprise. Of all people she had thought Cordie was the type to be frightened by that news. Now, Lily felt guilty for thinking that. Cordie was a lot more then met the eye, and that was becoming clearer and clearer to Lily every moment that she spent with the blonde. Lily stepped forward, "because I am indeed a werewolf. I appreciate your being okay with that," she said softly. Normally, Lily wouldn't give a darn what anyone thought about her being a wolf. But, she found herself really caring about Cordelias opinion of her. She found her cocky smile again after a few moments, though, and looked back up at the moon. "I'm pretty comfortable with it, if that wasn't clear. Like it, even," she giggled, turning back to look at Cordelia again, "but it didn't make my life that different. I was always a biter," she winked, finding that playfulness once again. cordelia regan smith

She understood the slight surprise that Lily had when she had answered she was fine with werewolves. That had definitely caught the Gryffindor off guard. The same thing seemed to happen when Elias had told her as well. Maybe she could credit watching all those muggle horror films for this, because it was definitely starting to surprise her as well. Any normal person, especially a socially awkward scaredy-cat like her, would be a little hesitant at first before getting over the fact that werewolves and vampires were assimilated nowadays. Plus, being a werewolf hadn’t changed who Lily and Elias were, that much was clear by their interactions with her. “Sh-should I b-be scared?” She looked down at the button in her hand, still holding down onto it tightly for the camera to keep taking the exposure. “B-Being a werewolf is kind of c-cool…” Cordelia muttered to herself quietly. She’d never want to be one though, it was hard enough with the stutter, and the remainder of the stigma towards werewolves that she heard about from her parents wasn’t going to go away any time soon. Not being able to handle one problem with herself would mean having two would be impossible.
As Lily stepped towards her, Cordelia could see the switch from appreciation to her normal self. So what she had said actually mattered to her? Smiling as Lily explained that it hadn’t really changed her at all, Cordelia started wondering how she had become a werewolf in the first place. It couldn’t have been the prettiest of sights. Now that she thought about it, how did people become werewolves? That had to have been one of the classes she missed, or was too nervous to pay attention in. “How’d it happen…if you d-don’t mind telling m-me.”

Lily shook her head, "no, you shouldn't be scared. Not me me, and not like this," she explained, "just don't hang out with me in wolf form but don't worry, I wouldn't let that happen," she promised. She heard Cordies little mutter about how being a werewolf is kind of cool and she chuckled, "it has it's ups and downs. Mostly ups," she said with another chuckle. Cordelia was doing pretty well with this news. Lily was impressed and happy at her reactions.
Then, Cordie asked the question. A lot of people had asked her that and Lily had told a lie every time. But, for some reason, Lily's gaze softened and her mouth opened before she could think this through. "I wanted to be one," she said, before swallowing hard and furrowing her brows, "erh- I mean I was bitten by one during a full moon. That's how it's done," she explained. Then she went on, "I knew there would be a wolf... and I sought it out and let it bite me," she went on, feeling oddly elated at telling most of the truth, "I got away because I had a plan all set up. Cordie," she furrowed her brow even more, "please don't tell anyone that. No one knows the whole story, I'd rather keep it that way."

Cordelia nodded her head quickly as Lily told her not to do anything with her on a full moon. Easy enough. She’d even lock herself in her dorm room for good measure. “N-Not even for a picture?” She joked. That didn’t happen often, especially in a situation about a rather serious matter. It was good that being a werewolf didn’t hold Lily back. Elias had seemed the same way, but he was more concerned about what he could do if he lost control. Lily was always out of control to some extent, so maybe being one was more natural to her.
She wasn’t sure about how Lily would answer her question though. Thinking back to how Elias had put it, his father had turned him, which Cordelia had taken to mean that was what the other Greybacks were like too. But Lily wasn’t part of their family, at least not in that sense. Luckily, it seemed the Gryffindor’s response was a rather…positive one? The way Lily put it, it made it sound like she had sought out one of the werewolves and asked for it. As Cordelia processed all of it once again, she realized that’s exactly what Lily had said. Before she could say anything though, Lily asked her not to repeat any of that again. “Of c-course.” She responded. “N-Not too many people would p-pay attention to m-me long enough to l-listen anyways.” A small laugh escaped her. To add to that, she wouldn’t actively look for people to tell, since that meant talking. “Have you t-talked to Elias?”

Lily shook her head, chuckling as Cordelia mentioned a picture. It sounded like a joke, but Lily was actually considering it. "Well, if we had enough distance between us that might actually be possible. I know you were joking but... well, it'd be a rad pic," Lily said with her own mischievous grin growing into place once again. "But, that would have to be seriously planned out. Not impossible, though," she added. She wouldn't mind having a picture of her as a wolf... in fact, that'd be a pretty hilarious thing to give Adrian for Christmas. She laughed out loud at the thought but shook her head, not explaining what she was laughing at.
Then Cordie said she wouldn't tell anyone her big secret, which was really the fact that she had become a wolf on purpose. That was the secret. At Cordies comment about people not paying attention to her, Lily shook her head, "you should make them pay attention. If you want them to," she said, "just not about this," Lilu giggled, reaching a finger up to tap the tip of Cords nose. Then she asked about Elias and Lily grinned, "a little! He's awesome. You met him, then?"

Her eyes widened as Lily actually considered getting a picture of herself as a wolf. It looked as if the joke had gotten though, but it wasn’t without a little bit of Lily’s strange jokingly serious attitude about the whole thing. Cordelia would have to consider being either more straightforward with her jokes in the future or to not mention anything at all, since it seemed Lily was more of a daredevil than she had initially realized. Not that there was anything wrong with being a werewolf nowadays, but the last thing Cordelia wanted was to have to send that owl home to her parents, stating that she was trying to take a picture of another student in full-on feral werewolf mode with little to no safety precautions set up. She liked small risks for her craft here and there. This was not one of those.
Awkwardly laughing in tandem with Lily, things turned slightly serious again as she instructed the Hufflepuff to make others pay attention if she wanted them to. That was definitely something she had heard numerous times before, but it had never sunk in like this one was. Cordelia knew that the ones closest to her would always listen, because they understood and valued what she had to say. Nodding her head in agreement about keeping the secret, her face brightened up again when the conversation returned to Elias. “I b-bumped into him in Hogsmeade and m-my camera broke, so he t-t-took me to lunch…” There was a lot more in between all of that, but she figured giving all those details would bore Lily.

"Oh no! Like you LITERALLY bumped into him and that's what broke your camera? I'm so sorry," she pouted, a big fake looking pout but she meant the emotions behind it. "That was so nice of him! I like him a lot. He's incredibly cute, isn't he? Must run in the family," she whistled. Adrian, Dan, Jamie, Elias and Odette. Lily felt herself spacing out for a moment, thinking about the eldest sister that Adrian had. She was certainly a sight to behold, and Lily was oddly obsessed with her and couldn't pinpoint why. Probably just because she was so stunning that it was hard to take in, even more someone like Lily. Maybe Lily was just obsessed with the whole family... well, that was partly true.
"Who do you find cute, Cordelia?" she asked, her eyebrow arching to unnatural height. She had a talent of making her face do whatever it wanted to convey the emotion she was trying to get across. She was very in control of her body and senses... even if they were more in control of HER sometimes.

Yup. She had walked straight into the back of the Durmstrang champion in the middle of Hogsmeade. Even though Lily was pretty close, Cordelia was positive she wouldn’t be able to see her face redden from embarrassment, even if it was all said and done. “C-Cameras are easy to f-fix so it wasn’t a b-big deal.” She barely had time to get a word in before Lily was off again talking about Elias and something about the rest of his family being attractive. Cordelia couldn’t visualize what the rest were like, or who they were for that matter, other than the one in Hufflepuff. She didn’t talk to that one too often though.
While thinking that over, Lily continued on, this time asking who Cordelia thought was cute. She wasn’t sure how to answer, since she never really thought too much about it. School, art club, and photography took up all of her time, sometimes all at the same time. Thinking about anything else seemed a little preposterous to her. “I-I don’t know…” She knew that answer wasn’t going to be sufficient for Lily though. Luckily for her, she remembered that a lot of the other sixth year Hufflepuff girls had a thing for the American boy in their year. Maybe that would be enough for Lily, even if it was a lie. “M-Maybe Lance Linley? B-But he’s just n-n-nice to everyone…so I might c-confuse it with that…”

Lily let out a relieved sigh and placed a hand over her heart. "Oh, good!" she was glad that the blondes camera wasn't permanently damaged, but then she moved on about how cute Elias and his family was and blah blah blah, then they were on to Cordie having to answer her question. She did, mentioning that American boy from her house. Lily laughed, "awe, really? He's pretty cute, I guess," Lily shrugged, "I like that lip ring of his. Being nice is great too," she said giggling a little.
"It's okay not to think anyone is cute, Cord. You don't have to run around liking anyone," she encouraged. She felt like Cordie was just trying to please her which was... well, that actually made sense. Lily was pretty demanding.

That’s right…Lance did have a lip ring didn’t he? Cordelia didn’t really pay attention to the physical appearances of others that much, other than knowing that a lot of people were taller than she was. At the same time though, there were quite a few short students, namely the younger ones. Remembering that she was still holding the button down on her camera, Cordelia paused in the conversation for a moment to let it go and check the settings for the next photo. She hoped the long exposures would look good. She didn’t really have enough practice with them to be able to be truly confident with them, especially shooting at night.
Getting everything set up again in no time, Cordelia pressed down on the button again and turned back to Lily. She let out a sigh of relief as Lily said it was okay not to like anyone. That was good, she didn’t have to put up airs about Lance anymore. Not that he didn’t have the looks or anything, she just didn’t see what was so interesting about him other than that he was American. “Then I g-guess there’s no one.” An awkward laugh escaped from her. “Wh-What about you?” She recalled seeing Lily hanging all over everyone, so she assumed there had to be at least one that she liked more than the rest.

Cord sort of corrected herself to say that there was no one and Lily just shrugged, laughing as well as Cord gave an awkward one. Then Cordelia asked about her and Lily laughed again, "ah, Cord. I'm not the type to settle," she explained, leaning back on the stone with her elbows and looking back up toward the stars. "Too many beautiful stars in the sky," she muttered, trying at a metaphor apparently.
She looked back at Cordie. "I don't really think finding one person is that important at our age, really. I mean, I probably could if I wanted," she shrugged again, adding a little scoff this time, "but where's the fun in that?"

She should have seen that response coming. At the same time though, Cordelia figured Lily would be one of those hopeless romantic types. Even though there were tons of different people out there, there would always be that one Lily had. There had to be right? Not that it meant Lily had to settle down with that said person, but they were more special than everyone else was. Everyone had someone like that. Well, almost everyone. Cordelia didn’t yet. She was fine keeping that way too. “Ah l-lots of stars.” Whatever it was Lily was trying to say had gone completely over her head, taking the comment literally instead. Cordelia looked up at the sky again, glancing over at her camera to see if it was still running. It needed to be stopped again soon.
Turning back to Lily just as she did the same, the Gryffindor continued talking about how she didn’t think being held down wasn’t important yet. “That’s wh-what I think too.” Of course, both of their reasons for that were completely different. As Lily said, she didn’t think it was fun. Cordelia just wasn’t confident in figuring that out right now. School and finding a job after were far more important to her. “M-Maybe some day.”

Lily wasn't sure if Cordie actually got her metaphor about lovers being stars, but she didn't ask to find out. Either Cordie did or didn't, she didn't really care. She looked over at Cordies camera as Cordie did, "It's going to be a great photo," Lily guessed slash encouraged, grinning as she thought about it. Cordelia was bound to create beautiful things, Lily was sure of it. She could tell just from the little time she'd gotten to know the blonde badger.
"Some day," Lily agreed, nodding. She didn't want to worry too much about any of that. When it happened, it happened and she would accept it. Well, maybe. Lily tried not to resist nature and fate, but she wasn't sure that she believed in that either. Lily believed to just enjoy the moment and what was happening to you in that very second every second. So, if love showed up, so be it.

“I think it will be.” Her confidence show itself through with that statement. It took a moment or two to realize she hadn’t stuttered. That happened from time to time, but not too often. Gaining confidence was only half the battle when it came to her stuttering. She was sure it would always exist in some form or another, but as long as she was self-aware of when it was going to happen there was a possibility she could control it. Go back two years and she wouldn’t even have been in this situation right now talking to Lily. Cordelia was positive she could get rid of most of it by time she graduated; it had already gotten better this year. Only time would tell though. Letting go of the button on her switch, the camera stopped the exposure and she reached over to check everything. It looked alright, so hopefully that meant the photos would as well. Should they come out underexposed, she’d just come back a different night after class. She was sure Professor Malfoy would let her give it another shot. Popping the camera off her tripod, Cordelia packed it away before turning back to face Lily. “I’m all done. Once I finish p-packing up we can go?” She always thought it must be a sight to see her carrying the giant tripod throughout the school. Most of the other students she knew that had cameras were mainly handheld; she was for the most part as well. Certain photographs needed one though, like the ones she had just finished, so it didn’t seem ridiculous to bring it to school. Breaking that piece of equipment down as well, Cordelia slid it into its shoulder bag and threw both it and her camera over her shoulders. “R-Ready to go.”
