@magdalena there were few people in the world raleigh flint went out of his way to see. he wasn't a very social person and the people that he trusted could be counted with three fingers. magdalena was one of them. it was an unusual friendship theirs. honestly he still to this day doesn't remember how their friendship stretched beyond the assignment they had been given in their first year, but it had and he was glad for it. everyone needed a friend, even the stoic and seemingly cold flint heir. he hugged his coat closer as he walked up to the path of address she had sent him. the cold was really setting in now and he was sure they were in for a long winter, he'd been hoping for a short one but something about the way things felt at the moment made it feel even drearier than winter usually was, and he didn't often had the cold weather. he rubbed his hands together as he lifted one to knock his knuckles on the door. he had sent an owl the day before to make sure she would be home so he could drop in and see her. he'd been busy managing the cauldron in the absence of hannah longbottom but he had felt like he could leave the bar in the hands of the other manager and trust the place didn't fall down in order to visit an old friend.

Magdalena had been pleasantly surprised to receive a letter from her friend Raleigh, wanting to meet up the next day. It was an interesting friendship, but it worked. And to be honest? He was one of the only people she'd stayed in contact with when her whole life had unraveled at the end of their seventh year. He'd been Kidnapped like so many others but he hadn't withdrawn into himself like some of the others. He'd been there when they found out her mother had been murdered. When they found out her father was the prime suspect and in jail. He'd been there to see her hit rock bottom while working at Club Indigo. And despite his cold attitude he'd never blamed her for any of it.
She'd obviously slept in, taking advantage of her day off, just finished getting ready, and now had a cup of coffee in hand when she heard the knock at the door. Taking a sip from the still steaming cup she left the kitchen and headed for the front door, yanking it wide open. "Raleigh! Morning! Come in!" It wasn't morning...

@magdalena "Raleigh! Morning! Come in!" he couldn't help but raise his brow as she opened the door rather quickly and exclaimed it was morning. he let a grin cross onto his face and he made it a point to look at his watch. "well i see your definition of morning hasn't changed, vander" he said,a sharp chuckle escaping him as he rubbed his hands together one last time before moving into through the door she had opened. he wondered in that moment just how long it had been since he'd seen her. he honestly couldn't remember. just that it had been a while. it didn't matter though, they had kept in contact. "so this is the home of the great nikolai krum ... and you" he said as he reached to squeeze her shoulder and he took off his coat, glancing around. he couldn't help it, he was curious.

Magdalena made a sour expression and shrugged as he commented on her definition of morning. "Anything before sunset is morning." Night owl like her, it wasn't a joke. Waving a hand, as if to shoo that particular topic away she laughed. Shutting the door behind him she set her cup of coffee down just long enough to steal a one armed hug when she felt his hand on her shoulder. "You can hand your coat up there." she pointed to the coat rack that was nestles behind the door, almost out of sight.
Picking up her coffee once more she took a sip and moved to the living room, motioning over her shoulder for him to follow. "What's with the hesitation? Never expected me and him?" she teased. Though she hadn't ever considered them being together either. It'd just... happened as insane as it sounded.

@magdalena "You can hang your coat up there." he nodded and shrugged out of it, dropping it into his hands as he turned to hang it up behind the door. as he did he turned back towards her and followed her into the living room where she seemed to be hanging onto the coffee cup like a life line. which he wasn't surprised about, she'd never been a morning person and it had always amused him. "What's with the hesitation? Never expected me and him?" he laughed sharply although there was humor in his tone and he raised his brow. "never. in a million years did i picture you with nikolai krum." he said honestly as he sat on one of the arm chairs in the room. "i mean no offence ... i'm sure he's everything you ever wanted?" he said with a smirk. he couldn't help it. he wasn't good at the whole supportvive friend thing, although he had found since he'd graduated and moved out of his family home he was getting better. though magi was used to him and he was certain she wouldn't take offence at anything he said that sounded brash or more mean than he meant. "i will say though .. i never pictured you as type to settle into the domestic life so young." he teased her as he leaned his arm down on the arm of the chair. "do you cook?"

Yeah, Magdalena and Nikolai would agree with that. They hadn't expected it either. She laughed and rolled her eyes at the comment though. At the comment of him being everything she's wanted she stopped laughing and a thoughtful expression replaced it. Was it everything she'd wanted? What was it she'd even wanted before? "It's better than what I'd wanted. Even though he can be annoying as hell sometimes." she wasn't one to sugar coat. Nikolai annoyed her like no one else, but she still loved him. Weird, right?
Plopping down in the couch she quickly downed the rest of her coffee and she the cup on the end table. She'd just settled herself when she heard that word. domestic. "Domestic?!" she looked both horrified, amused, and shocked all at the same time. Immediately she grabbed one of the pillows on the couch and chucked it at him. "I'll show you domestic, Raleigh Flint!" Oh, she really wasn't mad, as he'd know. But that didn't mean he could get away without some sort of retaliation!
Magdalena made a face at the cooking question and ran her fingers through her hair. "He does usually. He's a better cook than me. Enough about me though! What about you? Still working at the Leaky Cauldron?"

@magdalena "It's better than what I'd wanted. Even though he can be annoying as hell sometimes." he smirked slightly as magi admitted that nikolai could be as annoying as hell to her. he could picture that. nikolai was a year older than he was so he hadn't had much to do with him in school but he'd known of him. "if he gets too annoying, i know some pretty unsavory people." he said, though he wasn't really serious. she seemed happy and that was good enough for him. he leaned back into the chair he was sitting in as she settled herself down on the couch. "Domestic?!" he couldn't help but laugh at the look that had crossed her face. that was it. "I'll show you domestic, Raleigh Flint!"that's what he'd been hoping for and he grinned a little as she threw the pillow at him. he caught it and looked at her over the top of it. "now now vander ... violence solves nothing!" he said as he chucked it back at her, careful to aim it high enough so it didn't hit the coffee she had sat down on the table.
"He does usually. He's a better cook than me. Enough about me though! What about you? Still working at the Leaky Cauldron?" he nodded slightly and leaned forward slightly and rested his elbows on his knees. "well that's good. it means you haven't gone total house wife on me." he joked. ah the leaky cauldron. the main part of his life now, as sad as it sounded. though it wasn't really sad. he didn't dislike it as much as he had at the start and working behind a bar was growing on him, enough so that he'd accepted the manager position. "yeah still working there. i just became a manager so .. i think i'll be there for at least the next while." he still wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life. he didn't want to try and work at the ministry for fear of his father getting involved or for people thinking he'd used his last name to try and sucker his way into a position there. he was still in the planning stage of the next step of his life and while it wasn't a lot he was getting some money behind him, it wasn't a large amount but it was his. "how's the three broomsticks?" he asked, having heard that she'd started working there.

Magdalena couldn't help but grin at Raleigh's offer. Oh she believed him. Between his personality and working at a wizard bar no doubt he'd met many 'unsavory people'. "His sisters would get him in line pretty quick if I ever complained to them about him. But I'll be sure to keep that in mind if he acts out too much." of course she'd never take him up on the offer, just like she'd prefer to keep his siblings out of their personal business.
She fake scowled as he threw the pillow back at her and made some comment about violence not Solving anything. The girl caught it and stuck her tongue out at him. Not wanting to risk spilling her coffee though she chose not to throw it back. Though a disgusted look soon appeared. "Me? House wife? Not in this life time, you should know me better than that!" No, Magi was far to high spirited for that. She'd never make even a half decent house wife.
She started to smile as he spoke about work and how her been made a manager. Who'd have thought. Leadership hasn't been a skill she would have listed him having but considering everything that had happened in the last year it didn't necessarily surprise her much. "This is why I don't work there. You know I'd never take you seriously as a boss." she teased, though it was true. You didn't work for friends. It would be too hard to maintain a professional working relationship. At the mention of her own current employer though she shrugged. "Boring most the time. They keep giving me the morning shift too, which is a pain. But it's not bad. Nikolai likes it more than my old job at least." Ah the night club. Raleigh had known she worked there before.
