@natalie Luckily Charlie knew his wife well. Maybe too well sometimes. Enough so that he knew the comment about not getting a tip for his service was going to receive a little comment in return, and that it did. He had trouble not rolling his eyes at her as she said it, still too focused on not scorching his tongue on the tea. He wasn’t sure why he even bothered worrying about burning it. It was going to happen, since his entire body was practically immune to it at this point. “I’m an old man now. Can’t help it if I pass out in the next few minutes.” Charlie took another sip of his tea.
It actually worked. He was more than positive that he was going to have to get up again to help her. The old man card seemed to be more effective these days, especially so close to his birthday. Charlie didn’t actually feel old though; it was hard to do that when your life depended on running away from vicious flying lizards all day. He figured he had a few more years until it was time to call it quits in the field, turning to mostly domestic dragon dealings and training new recruits. That was pretty much what he was doing right now anyways, so it wouldn’t be that much of a shift. Definitely easier though, that was for sure.
Nat got up from her spot and moved over to him, placing her arms on top of her legs, all on top of him. “I think so.” Any closer and he’d be wearing her. A Nat jacket wouldn’t be too bad. Probably rather comfy. Charlie observed her arms. There were quite a few burns, pretty much on every inch of her arms as far as he could tell. “Did the spell work?” From the looks of it, he would wager a guess that it hadn’t. Yet. She’d figure it out eventually. Charlie motioned for her to hand over the burn salve so he could apply it. “You know the deal. It’s probably going to sting a little at first, but then it’ll cool off and heal it completely within a few minutes. While it does that, you have to let it absorb into the burns and dry.” In other words, no jumping him until everything was good to go.

Old man. She chuckled as he said that and her shoulders hunched toward her hears for a moment befpre moving closer. Natalie nodded and watched as he observed the burns on her arms. There were a lot, but none were incredibly bad.
Then he asked if the spell worked and she sighed, pouting again. "Not yet. I think I'm getting closer, but it's just so bloody typical that a dangerous spell like this one would take an eternity to figure out," she said. She handed him the salve as he motioned for it and let her pout go away again, for now. It'd be back. It always came back.
"Yeah, yeah," she muttered. "I get it. You just have to entertain me while it sets!" she said, her tone excited at the end of the sentence. "Whatever can we do!? I mean, we can't move my arms much so... maybe you'll just have to tell me some stories. Or sing me a song!" She laughed, looking at him with her wide eyes.

@natalie Charlie had never attempted to make his own spells, or modify existing ones for that matter. In actuality, he hated using spells unless it was necessary on the job. Probably the use of hexes, jinxes, and charms on dragons over the years had caused the distaste for normal things. Sure, summoning a box of cereal out of the cupboard was extremely easy, but so was standing up and getting it himself. It was natural for humans having to get their own things, and being outside and moving all day made it seem weird to go home and use magic for everything. Clearly he had gotten a little taste of muggle influence from his father. On the flip-side, it was sheer brilliance that Nat could go around and make up new spells on the fly. That was a highly coveted skill. “I’d rather have something dangerous take a long time to test. That way you know it’s secure for anyone to use.” That was almost like his years of studying dragons before actually approaching one on his own. Same concept really.
He took the salve from his wife and observed it. This stuff had come in handy time and time again for him. Squeezing some of it out onto his hand, Charlie observed the burn marks on Natalie’s arm again. Initially he thought about dabbing it on, which was how it was supposed to be applied. But the sheer amount of burns she had was insane, so he decided to put on as much as possible, gently spreading the salve across her arm and hand. “You worked through lunch didn’t you?” He joked, turning her arm over to see more burns. The things they did for their jobs. “I’m a little out of tune, so I guess it’ll be story time.” Charlie cleared his throat as he thought of something interesting that had happened recently. A little lightbulb went off in his head as he remembered who he had bumped into earlier in the day. “I ran into Newt this morning. I can’t believe he’s still on the job, even at his age. That man has the willpower of an erumpent in…well, you can imagine, he never stops working no matter the obstacle.” Charlie chuckled a little as he finished applying the salve on one arm, motioning for the other.

Natalie made and 'ehh' sound, rocking her head from side to side for a moment. "I guess that's a good point, love, I'm just impatient. I'd rather just jump in head first and damn the consequences!" she laughed but let it die down. "But, as you know, I have to share this with others so I will do it the right way, I guess," she mused.
He asked if she worked through lunch while tending to her arms and her eyes widened slightly. "Foooood. Yes, I didn't eat. That'll be next on our agenda!" she preferred not to work when Charlie was home. Those were precious times, not to be wasted with work.
He claimed he was out of tune and she chuckled, leaning forward a little more with wide as eyes he spoke about running into Newt. "Oh, of course not! He's relentless and dedicated. A wonderful man. Was he there checking on anything specific?"

@natalie Charlie chuckled as his wife said she was too impatient. True, she kind of was. If she had taken her time, maybe there wouldn’t be as many burns. With spells like that though, there was no way to tell how long it could take. “You’re like a scientist, in a way.” That was a good comparison right? Muggles had funny methods to how they did their experiments. They had to be more careful though, because accidents in their tests weren’t as easily reversible as magical mistakes were sometimes. Burns of the same degree that Natalie had would take weeks, maybe months to heal for them, an easy solution like burn salve not exactly existing. She would be back to normal by the morning with this stuff, it was that good. “Can’t wait to see what happens though. Maybe we can teach the dragons how to use it, so we don’t get lit up like Christmas trees every time they shoot flames at us.” He laughed again, imagining all the times he had run for his life from fireballs and clouds of lung-clogging smoke.
He nodded his head at the idea of eating soon. While he wasn’t out in the field nearly as much anymore, this new line of work running around London catching dragon eggs was just as tiring, and even more hunger inducing. “Sounds like a plan. Anything in mind?” At this point in the day, food was food to Charlie. Home-cooked, takeout, restaurant, pretty much anything was fine with him. First came the discussion about Newt though. Funny old man he was. Taught Charlie a lot about dragons, which was rather surprising seeing as he was better known for his other studies. “Couldn’t say what he was doing. Wandering around Diagon Alley staring into the sky muttering something about…what was it? Effects of pixie dust and how they might be able to make people fly? You know how he is. Wouldn’t be surprised if he discovers that pixie dust in enough quantities can actually make people float a few inches off the ground.” The man was brilliant, and there was no telling what he would discover next. The fact that he was well over a hundred years old was equally as impressive. “So any other news about your work? Big show and tell once you figure that spell out?”
[OOC: Tell him about the Hogwarts gig and then end in one or two more?]

Natalie just laughed and laughed as her husband spoke of the dragons learning her flame recipe. He asked what she was thinking for food and she just shrugged, "I didn't really have anything in mind... whatever you want to eat," she said with a grin. It was easier for her when he just made the decisions mostly because she liked to agree with him! Granted, she'd make it known if she didn't, though.
He spoke more of Newt and she laughed, "Pixie Dust making you fly? Isn't that in some childrens book?' she said, laughing again but trying not to move too much to let the salve set. Then, he asked about work and she remembered. "Oh!" she jumped, clapping her hands together excitedly and then looking at them and frowning, realizing she had just messed the healing up. "I was offered a job at Hogwarts! As the Librarian! I was thinking I'd stay until Xavey graduates. What do you think?"

@natalie Whatever he wanted to eat. A very typical Nat response. Initially he had been interested in meat of some sort, but the condition of his wife’s arms and the amount of burns on them seemed to turn him away from all of that now, not that it would have really mattered. She had a while to go before the salve did its thing, so he had some time to decide before then.
Charlie contemplated the pixie dust and flying thing again. She was right. That was a children’s book wasn’t it. “You don’t think he was playing a prank on me do you?” It definitely wasn’t out of the realm of possibilities with Newt. Then again, neither was his research if pixie dust actually did that. Quite hard to tell with him, since what seemed to be fiction most of the time eventually ended up as fact once he was done with it. Their Newt conversation ended though as Nat jumped to her feet. Apparently work had been exciting recently. Charlie nodded his head slowly as she said that Hogwarts offered her a job as the librarian. That was a sudden deviation from her current work, but it seemed like it would fit. And she would stay there until Xavier graduated. He couldn’t find any issues in that. “I think it’s perfect. I’ll be gone with Harp a lot with her training, so why not? You have to promise one thing though,” Charlie stood up and pulled her closer. “You need to get more books on dragons in that library. I’m losing too many of those kids to magizoology, and this is the perfect opportunity to steal some of the competition.” He grinned. “Any nice restaurants you’ve wanted to go too lately? I think this is cause for celebration. Solves our dinner problem too.”
[OOC: idk. this is what Charlie produces at 2am xD but you can end with a short post :3]

Natalie laughed as he suggested that Newt was playing a prank on him. "That does sound possible," she joked. It really was, though. He was a lighthearted man, easy to joke around with. She was glad that Charlie was okay with her being at Hogwarts, saying it was perfect and all. He stood up and she stood with him, allowing him to pull her close to him as he asked for the promise. She chuckled and nodded, "I will do my upmost to sway them," she smirked, leaning up to kiss his lips lightly. "As for food, I have a place in mind," she said excitedly with a cheeky little grin.
Once she had the salved washed up and got a bit dressed up, they were off to some fancy restaurant in muggle London. She liked being downtown, but even more so she liked looking good with her man candy while doing it. And the night went on happily ever after.
