He did help, that he was enjoying himself, but she wasn't going to say that. She didn't want him thinking that she needed this validation or anything, so she just didn't respond at all. He was probably used to that by now, her choosing not to respond when she wanted not to. Still, she felt a tiny, tiny hint of guilt at not answering.
He repeated that he'd heard her remark about the pasta, and then his hand tightened on hers at her next words. About it not being cold. He assured her it wasn't, saying how they just got out there and haven't even made it to the fountain. Then, a word she'd never heard anyone say before. Stay. She breathed in, looking up at him, her eyes staring into his for a moment.
It was silent a little longer than most would deem comfortable, but she didn't mind. Then, she said, "it's your turn to tell me your favorite food."

She wasn't really answering him, but Brandon wasn't really surprised. He thought that the more time he spent with her, the more Callisto would open up and maybe relax a little bit, but that was definitely not what was happening. Maybe the next time he saw her. Huh. So now he was planning on seeing her again. Well, that was definitely interesting. Something to think about later, for sure.
Brandon had no idea what she was going to do, leave or stay. He wanted her to stay; he tried to make that completely obvious, but he wasn't sure if she actually would. The silence while he waited for her response seemed to last forever, but at the same time, when he was looking into her eyes, it didn't seem that long. And Brandon waited. He wasn't going to push her again, he would let her take all the time she needed and hopefully she'd choose to stay with him.
Brandon smiled when she basically ordered him to tell her what his favorite food was. "I like pizza," Brandon said easily. It wasn't really something he had often, but he really did like it. "Do you have a favorite book?" Didn't she say she was Ravenclaw? Or not? Brandon couldn't remember, but hopefully she'd have some kind of favorite book. He wanted to distract her from the cold. Anything to keep her from going back inside already. He felt like their walk just started.

He liked pizza. She smiled a little, "we both like Italian food. Good to know," she said, then momentarily regretted saying it. Then didn't regret it. She had never switched back and forth so much in one thought process before. Callisto made judgment calls early on and was married to them, never wavering. Now, she found herself wavering like some kind of tree branch in the wind. But her brace, the trunk, was still solid. She wouldn't change completely but... She could sway a little, for a night.
"Tale of two cities," she answered firmly, "by Charles Dickens. Its a muggle author... Have you read it?" she pressed her shoulder up against him and looked up at him, her brown eyes a little wide as she took in his features. She wanted to want to run but... She didn't yet. She was still there. Amazingly there.

Brandon smiled when Callisto mentioned the fact that they both liked Italian food. He hadn't made that connection, which was why she was the Ravenclaw out of the two. "It is," he agreed, determined to remember that she liked Italian food. Hopefully he'd be able to use that someday to impress her somehow. If the opportunity ever came, which it probably wouldn't. But he could hope for it if he wanted to.
Brandon shook his head at her next question, "No, but I have heard of it. I've read a few other things by Dickens though. I think I liked A Christmas Carol the best out of his books." He paused for a second, taken by surprise when she was suddenly right next to him. His heart skipped a beat, but he forced the surprise to not show on his face as he looked down at her with a smile. After a few seconds he cleared his throat, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable. If he did that, she'd definitely say she was cold and leave. "I happen to prefer William Shakespeare myself. Anything of his, really. Have you heard of him?" Not subtle at all, but hopefully it would keep her from trying to leave.

She couldn't help but picture them sitting across from each other somewhere eating said Italian food... but she pushed that thought away. This was crazy enough as it was. Then, he said he had heard of Tale of Two Cities, but hadn't read. She shrugged at the mention of A Christmas Carol, "I don't necessarily care for it. But I can see why people like it," she started. She looked up at him as he looked to her, but didn't smile back. "It's overrated. You should read two cities," she muttered.
He cleared his throat and she looked away, then he asked about Shakespeare. She rolled her eyes and scoffed, "I'm not an uncultured, sir. Of course I've heard of him," she looked back at him and raised her eyebrow high. "My favorite is 'The Two Gentlemen Of Verona," she added.

He laughed when she grumbled that he should read Tale of Two Cities. "I will," he promised, making a mental note to write home for it. If she liked it so much, he definitely wanted to be able to talk with her about it. Really, he just wanted to have more in common with her, but he wasn't going to tell her that.
Brandon couldn't keep from smiling when Callisto said that she wasn't uncultured. Of course he didn't think she was, but her response was amusing to him. He smiled and nodded, "I like that one." Really, he knew almost all of Shakespeare's works, but his favorites was one of the more commonly known ones, "I like A Midsummer Knight's Dream," he told her, even though she didn't return the question to him. "Now it's your turn to come up with another question," he prompted.

He agreed to read the book and she nodded, then he said that he liked a Midsummer Nights Dream, and she rolled her eyes, "whimsical and tricky. Just like you," she pointed out, her eyes narrowing slightly, looking up at him. She realized she was close and moved away just a little so she wasn't pressing her arm up against him as much.
It was her turn for a question and she glanced back at the door, considering when to make her graceful exit... she paused, then looked ahead again, but not back at him just yet... "what is your favorite thing to do? It can't be dancing, because you're not that good at it," she... wait, was she teasing him? Callisto Wulfe? Teasing a boy? This was insanity.

She called him whimsical and tricky and Brandon decided to take that as a compliment. After all, it had worked so far tonight, hadn't it? She was still with him, at least. He winked at her, "That's me," he commented with an easy smile. She pulled away a little, but Brandon didn't let that get to him. She was still here, which meant that things were going well. At least, that's how he was going to take it.
He laughed when she said he wasn't good at dancing. "I happen to be very good! You just didn't get a long enough dance to see my skills," he argued with a smile. "I like music. Singing, playing the piano or another instrument. Anything that involved music, I just love. Including dancing. What about you?" He wanted to learn what she liked to do as well. Though now she shouldn't be too surprised when he ended up writing her a song. Yeah, that was definitely going to happen.

He winked at her, agreeing with her comment about him being like the play, and she felt that heat rise in her face again, making it easier to pull away. He wasn't just keeping her warm by being close anymore, so she could take the space she needed.
There was that laugh, again, and it was almost infectious, but she didn't return one. He claimed she didn't get a long enough dance and she shook her head, "well, maybe we'll do another some day," she said, before realizing that meant seeing each other outside of tonight. Then, he said that he liked music. Singing, playing instruments. He just loved anything that involved music. "You... sing? Are you any good?" she asked, "do you write music, too?" she added before he could answer.
"As for me... I like reading. Classical music. Going on walks," she said softly. "No that interesting, I know."

She pulled away completely now and Brandon didn't like it, but was still banking on the fact that she hadn't left yet. She was still here. He smiled when she said that maybe they would dance again someday. "I think that would be fun," he agreed, hoping she wouldn't avoid dances or balls now just because she might run into him there. He would love the chance to dance with her again.
Callisto seemed astounded by the fact that he liked to sing and Brandon laughed. "Yes, I sing," he told her, nodding his head. "And I'm good enough that I sang with Zander Lloyd this break. If you know who he is," Brandon hesitated. If she'd never heard of Zander, then that would mean nothing to her. "I'm planning on becoming a musician, so I hope I'm good. And yes, I do write music." Would she ever want to listen to any of it? "I'd offer to show you some now, but there are no instruments out here and I'm assuming you would rather me not make a scene," he teased with a light smile.
"Classical music is great," Brandon agreed, "And I like reading and walks. It's nice to have hobbies that are relaxing, I think." Some people liked to do crazy things, but Brandon enjoyed calming down in his leisure time. "And I definitely find you interesting," he told her, trying to make sure she knew that.

He said that he'd like to do another dance some day, that it would be fun. Then, he confirmed that he did sing and that he sang with Zander Lloyd. She had heard of him, but not listened to his music. "Oh. Well, that's nice," she said when he continued explaining that he wrote music. Then he said that he would show her some now and why he wouldn't and she found herself smiling little. She stopped, shaking her head, "yes, maybe now and here isn't the best time. Another time, maybe," was she just implying that they'd see each other again, AGAIN!? That was the second or third time she'd said something like that.
He agreed that classical music was great, and about reading and walks, but she was only half listening. Now that she was separated from him, she felt her feet starting to tingle, like they were ready to move. But, then he said he found her interesting and she turned to look at him, her eyes a little wide. "No ones said that to me before," she admitted quickly, then regretted it right after.
She stared at him for a moment before taking one step closer to him, eyes locked on his. "I... I have to go," then she darted around him and was gone, walking briskly back into the castle. She wouldn't be back on the dance floor that night, but would handle things behind the scenes and avoid being out there as much as possible.
Avoid him, the warm, kind, stupid, adorable dancing boy as much as possible.
@brandon (you called him dastan XD THE END unless you want to do one more!)

She didn't seem too impressed by the fact that he sang with Zander, but maybe she didn't know him. Huh. He was pretty sure that couldn't be said of most people. Zander was really starting to make a name for himself out in music. He smiled when she said he could sing for her another time. Brandon nodded, "Any time you want," he answered easily. He wasn't sure if she would like that, but by this time his filter was gone and he just said whatever came to mind.
She seemed shocked by the fact that he found her interesting and Brandon was trying to find a way to explain himself to her, explain his thought process, but he didn't know how. Then, before he really realized what was going on, she was gone. She practically ran away and Brandon was certain that she would make sure he wouldn't see her again. She might even leave early to make sure it didn't happen.
He watched her as she went back to the Great Hall and then turned and walked around outside for a while. He needed to clear his head. What came over him, talking to a ministry representative that way? He didn't think she would tell anyone, but he still couldn't believe he'd said that.
