@harper Three in the morning, a muggle diner. The Wulfe girl had found herself stumbling around the streets of London after a night out with her friends, or who she thought were her friends. She wasn’t sure yet. At some point they had either ditched her completely or she had managed to get separated from them. No matter, she would have vanished from their side eventually. That was the fun thing about hanging out with muggles, they always came back later on and were surprised at how she just “disappeared” suddenly and without warning, almost like magic. Probably because it was. Mina had no qualms with disapparating so close to muggles, they were drunk beyond belief most of the time anyways, so they wouldn’t remember anything. And if they did, she’d erase their memories. No biggie. Was that legal? Most likely not. What the Ministry didn’t know didn’t hurt them.
Anyways, it was three in the morning and Mina was bombed out of her mind like usual. Whenever she had done this in America, she had always been dragged to an all-night diner and would be forced to stuff herself full with breakfast food. Soaked up the alcohol or something. Luckily there was one on her walk home so she ducked inside. She could see herself becoming a regular here. It was clean, and the food was pretty good. Cheap too. The only thing was that she had to remember to hand over muggle currency at the end of her meal instead of her galleons. She had made that mistake once and was given the strangest look ever. As if being drunk wasn’t bad enough already.
Sliding into a booth, Mina was greeted by a menu and she quickly ordered everything she could read through her hazy eyes. A cup of tea and water was placed in front of her after a while, she wasn’t sure how long, and eventually there was food too. Lots of it. That was perfect. Drunkenly smiling at the plates in front of her, she dug in, starting with what looked like French toast. Whatever it was, it was pretty damn good. Food would keep her occupied until she sobered up a little more and could stumble back home. That way Callisto wouldn’t be too pissed at her.

the problem with having spent the last few months in differing countries meant that she slept when she was supposed to be awake and she was awake when she was supposed to be asleep. though it wasn't like there was a shortage of places that were open in london after midnight. people seemed to not like sleeping these days and there was just as many people in the middle of the streets than she could imagine there being at three in the afternoon. she hummed as she walked, taking in the sights of home as she kept her arms folded against her chest against the cool winter air. that was one thing she missed. she'd spent her last few months in hot or warm places, it had been summer in most of them and she had come back to this. windy, rainy and dreary mess that was the weather of england.
when she got back into the swing of being at home she would be wearing a different attire and doing a lot more than just walking the strees. but tonight she was sober, fully clothed and wearing thick boots that came to her knees. it was a warmth thing more than what she was comfortable in. when she'd gotten used to the climate she'd wear less clothes. she'd be back to how she had been before the warmth. she pushed the door open to a happy and clean, thankfully, looking diner and she let her arms fall to her sides, no longer needing to keep the wind off herself as she glanced around and spotted a face she hadn't seen since school. she smiled a little and pulled her beanie off her head, and tucked it into her pocket. "mina wulfe" she said as she approached the table and raised an eyebrow at the amount of food at the table. "having a party?" she said as she slipped into the opposite side of the booth and tucked one leg over the other, resting her chin on her hand while she waited to see if the other girl would recognize her.

@harper Mina was too occupied with shoveling food into her face to notice that another person had wandered into the quiet little diner soon after her. So much so, that she wasn’t too worried about looking up at the newcomer, even as they sat down across from her. And then said her name. She wasn’t too concerned. It was probably one of her muggle friends that she had just ditched. Or had they ditched her? She couldn’t remember. But this food was too good to care about that. Sticking a fork-full of French toast, or whatever it was, into her mouth, she looked up to see a girl sitting across from her. Maybe it was two girls, they did look similar though, so Mina decided it was going to only be one tonight. That made talking easier. “Oh! Me, me! That’s me!” She giggled, leaning back in her booth seat. Mina studied the other girl intently, scrunching her nose up as she tilted her head to the side. “Do I know you?” She did look familiar, but Mina wasn’t absolutely positive where she had seen the girl before. The issue here wasn’t whether or not they had met before; it was if this girl was a muggle or magical. The conversation couldn’t really continue on a personal basis until that was made clear. Even in her inebriated state, she was smart enough to make that distinction before blabbing all the secrets of the wizarding world. Last thing she needed to do was break the statue of secrecy before turning 21.
“Party? I wish.” This small talk was good, at least until she knew who the other girl was. If only there had been more people there, maybe she would have been ignored. Normally she was fine being in this situation, but it was rather scary when she could literally say whatever came to her mind first. She wasn’t always responsible about things, but keeping magic secret was one of them. “Although…” Mina started giggling again, which was uncontrollable in her current state. “I’ve been told I can be quite the fun time on my own. So maybe I am the party.” She shrugged her shoulders before returning to her food. There was still a lot left on her plates and her stomach was still empty feeling. Wonderful. She started cutting her French toast into small pieces as she waited to hear the story of how they knew each other.

“Oh! Me, me! That’s me! Do I know you?” harper couldn't help but laugh at mina's confused ramblings. it was sort of endearing but harper tried not to think about that, now she had to explain to the girl sitting in front of her that they did in fact know each other and had known each other for years. though they hadn't been what harper would call friends, certainly they knew of each other. "yes, and i know you" she said as she reached across the table to steal one of the fries from one of the numerous plates of food on the table. "we went to school together. it's harper weasley" she said as she stuck the fry in her mouth and ate it with a smile.
“Party? I wish. Although…” harper found herself laughing softly again as mina giggled in front of her. it was almost an uncontrolable problem of harpers, it wasn't often she could keep herself from laughing or smiling when other people did. it was a curse almost, she could hold a grudge like no other but damned if she couldn't smile about it either. "although?" harper said as she motioned to the waitress to bring her a cup of coffee by holding up the empty cup on the table. “I’ve been told I can be quite the fun time on my own. So maybe I am the party.” she nodded slightly and folded her arms against the table she was sitting at and leaned against them, raising a brow slightly and she shrugged just a little. "maybe you are too. you certainly have enough food to be one." she was just pointing it out, after nights of drinking harper could put away ungodly amounts of food herself and feel no regret the day after, it was food for the soul and it helped with the hangovers, it really did.

@harper “You know,” Mina interjected while the other girl laughed. “You’re quite fit. I’m kind of hoping we’ve met before.” Mina smirked as she leaned back in her seat again. Her eyes widened as she said that she knew who Mina was too. For a second, she kind of hoped this wasn’t one of the ones she had blacked out while…yeah. Every now and again that happened. Usually she didn’t care about the muggle ones since they were replaceable. Not the ones that had magic though. There was a more personal connection with the witches and wizards than she would ever have with a muggle. She eased up as the girl said they went to school together and that her name was Harper Weasley. Definitely sounded familiar. There was a girl that had been a year behind her with that name. But she was in a different house. Probably this one. Then it clicked. “Oh my god!” Mina half yelled, dropping her fork on the table. “You’re little Ondina’s sister aren’t you! You look the same. I could tell.” Nodding her head in confirmation, Mina picked up her fork again and pointed it at Harper. “No offense, but your sister is a bitch. Always stealing all the hot boys from me.” She laughed, trying to show that she was joking. She really hadn’t cared about Ondina that much, seeing as the other girl had her own little clique or whatever. Mina was having too much fun with her friends to care about the younger Slytherins.
It seemed that her talking a lot was making Harper laugh. Unfortunately the rather small filter Mina had in her day to day activities was all but gone when alcohol was thrown in. Luckily she was aware of it, having gotten hammered virtually every night possible since graduation. Living life, that’s what she was doing. Harper pointed at the food, saying that Mina had enough to be a party. “See? You understand.” She finished off the last slice of French toast. “Want some? Just grab whatever. I wish I had the stomach to eat it all, but in my hazy state when I got here I ordered a little too much.” Giggling again, Mina started on something that looked like an omelet. Those were the best. “So you graduated what, last year? Whatcha been up to?” Only stopping for a second to take a sip of her drink, Mina continued. “I went to America for two years. Traveled all over. Mexico too. A little too hot there for my liking. Louisiana was nice though. Studied voodoo and other early forms of…” She trailed off and looked around to make sure the waitress wasn’t nearby to hear what she was about to say. Leaning across the table, she put her hand up to block anything else from getting out into the open. “…magic.” Winking, Mina leaned back in her seat and took the first bite of the omelet.

“Oh my god! You’re little Ondina’s sister aren’t you! You look the same. I could tell.” harper couldn't help but laugh again as mina pretty much yelled out who she was to the entire diner. not that it would matter, their names meant nothing in the muggle world and she was sure that the people who were bothering to listen to them were people who didn't care all too much. she nodded her head as she leaned her chin down on her hand. "yep. that's me" she said with a wide smile. being known as ondina's sister wasn't the best feeling in the world but at least mina placed her because of her little sister. “No offense, but your sister is a bitch. Always stealing all the hot boys from me.” harper grinned and shrugged her shoulders slightly, leaning her arm down on the table as she lifted her head a little. "you'll get no argument from me there" she said as she leaned back into the seat, crossing one leg over the other and leaning her arm along the top of the booth.
“See? You understand. Want some? Just grab whatever. I wish I had the stomach to eat it all, but in my hazy state when I got here I ordered a little too much.” she reached one hand forward to grab a few more of the fries. she was a sucker for anything fried, especially late at night. “So you graduated what, last year? Whatcha been up to? I went to America for two years. Traveled all over. Mexico too. A little too hot there for my liking. Louisiana was nice though. Studied voodoo and other early forms of… …magic.” she was glad she hadn't started to explain what she had been up to, since mina seemed determined to spill the beans on what she had been doing outside of school. harper didn't mind, she liked listening about other peoples lives. the places they'd been, what they'd seen and done and how it had changed them. usually it was for the better but sometimes it was for the worse. "sounds like fun. did you eat your weight in taco's in mexico? i'd go to mexico just to eat my weight in tacos" she asked with a smile as she took some more fries, having eaten the last lot. "voodoo? did you learn how to do that?" she asked the question. she didn't know if she believed in voodoo. she knew there was all types of magic but vodoo seemed a little bit of a stretch, even for her. "i did some travelling too. i got a modelling contract and traveled for the last few months. i was in hawaii for a while then we spent most of our time in greece and italy" she said with a smile as she thought back on the warmer places she had spent time in.
-- they should totally do an impromptu trip to get taco's in mexico XD

@harper She knew she was right! She had been subjected to seeing Ondina almost every day for almost what? Five years? There were different kinds of Slytherins. The smarty-pants ones, the nasty ones like Ondina and her little gang, and the ones that really didn’t give a damn like Mina and her siblings. All shapes and sizes! How fitting too, for the snakes that they were. She always liked to think she and Bunny were more wolfish though, seeing as that was in their blood, but Ondina and her little friends were predatory animals at the top of the food chain. Or at least they liked to think that. Mina couldn’t help but laugh at the living hell the house must be in with those girls in their seventh year now. Poor Bunny. She let out another laugh as Harper said she wouldn’t get an argument from her about calling her sister a bitch. Mina knew there were more than a few people that felt that way. “Good. Because she’ll be one forever and always.” Mina stated defiantly. Hopefully someone would put her in her place.
Watching Harper take a few more fries, Mina could tell this was going to be eventful. It wasn’t often that she ran into former schoolmates out in the muggle world. Usually it was a common occurrence at the store, typically receiving a few funny stares because she was working as a cashier at a book store. Did they expect her to be doing anything different? Or was it because she was still alive? She could see that being a reason for the looks. “Tacos, burritos, pretty much everything. Mexican food you get here or in America doesn’t even compare. You’d think it would, but nope! I think it has to do with seasonings and stuff.” The food in Mexico had definitely been a selling point for her trip, outside of chasing magical creatures around for fun. “They promised to show me a few things. Made me hunt a Rougarou down. All they did was make me a new wand after it broke the old one. And then I came home because I kind of ran out of money. Oops.” Shrugging her shoulders, she continued eating the omelet in front of her. It was pretty good. This place was decent. She could see herself coming back if she found herself in the same state and in this area again.
As she ate, it seemed like it was Harper’s turn to tell her story. She modelled? Mina could have guessed that. Definitely had the looks. “I heard Hawaii is nice. It was a little out of my price range though…” Mexico had been pretty cheap, but the rest of the trip hadn’t, especially for two years of it. Working here and there made some money, mostly near the end. It wasn’t enough to sustain her though, and a Hogwarts education and barely any work experience meant nothing in America. “But modelling? Dang…what kind? I don’t really know anything about it. Fashion? Or something more…risqué?” Mina couldn’t help giggling at that. There was no way Harper would be doing that kind of modelling. Or would she? Mina didn’t really know who or what she was about, outside of the few things her drunk thoughts put there. “Bet there’s lots of attractive people in that business. I’m not so lucky…I just stare at dusty books all day.”

“Tacos, burritos, pretty much everything. Mexican food you get here or in America doesn’t even compare. You’d think it would, but nope! I think it has to do with seasonings and stuff.” harper could believe that. any food was better in the place it originated. she'd learned that with her travels, no matter how much one tried to perfect the art of pasta the little old ladies in italy blew them all out of the water. “They promised to show me a few things. Made me hunt a Rougarou down. All they did was make me a new wand after it broke the old one. And then I came home because I kind of ran out of money. Oops.” a rougarou? harper couldn't help but widen her eyes in surprise and a little bit of amazement. she worked with dragons yet the thought of mina going up against one of those creatures was impressive and just slightly attractive. "you actually hunted one? you know how cool that is right?" she said with a grin. she understood about the money. she knew she'd have had to come home a lot sooner if she hadn't of been getting paid for each job she did but she'd been lucky, not everyone had the luxury of being employed while they traveled. "money helps. so tell me what happened with the rougarou? that's not a nice thing to dangle in front of someone and then not eleborate" she said with a laugh as she took some more fries onto her plate.
“I heard Hawaii is nice. It was a little out of my price range though…” it was probably out of harpers price range but she was determined to go back. she wanted to do nothing but lay on the beach for a week sipping cocktails and exploring the islands and some of their people a little more .. like the wonderful surf instructor she had gotten to know a little more than she had most people. “But modelling? Dang…what kind? I don’t really know anything about it. Fashion? Or something more…risque?” she smirked as she bit into a fry and she shrugged her shoulders slightly. there had been one or two shoots that had been slightly risque. nothing nude though but she was sure some people would doubt what she had been wearing could be called clothes. "fashion mostly .. a few swimsuits .. some with a little less." she said with a wink at mina as she leaned her arm down on the table in front of her, leaning forward just slightly. “Bet there’s lots of attractive people in that business. I’m not so lucky…I just stare at dusty books all day.” she laughed and shrugged her shoulders again. "you could make books sexy." she joked as she stood up slightly, leaning across to take a long sip of one of the milkshakes on the table.

@harper Mina couldn’t help but mirror Harper’s grin when she said that hunting the Rougarou was cool. Not everyone thought that. Her parents had had a few words about it, immediately jumping to conclusions that she had gone and gotten herself turned into a werewolf without their knowledge. For some reason it was okay for them and for Koda and Sarah to be werewolves but not the rest of the family. She didn’t particularly mind though, because she really didn’t want to be one. The constriction of dealing with a full moon every month was silly, and she had watched half of her family do it for the last twenty years. “Money does help. The Rougarou,” Mina finished chewing her most recent bite of food, “tried to bite me.” She rolled up her sleeve to show the scar, which is what she did with practically everyone these days. It was her favorite story. Upon seeing the scar on her arm, she laughed. “Oh, I guess it did bite me. Forgot about that.” Taking a deep breath, she managed to stop the laughs so she could continue. “But yeah, it bit me, I pulled it to the ground and wrestled with it a little, they aren’t that big you know, but then it fell on my arm and was still trying to chew it off so I stabbed it.” She wiped her face off with a napkin as she finished. “So the fun kind of modeling. The type that actually sells. One of my older sisters is like a stripper or something. That sells too, but it’s not really made for everyone.” Mina yawned, remembering that Sarah was back in town was exhausting. They hadn’t run into each other yet, but it was bound to happen eventually, especially now that Mina was working in Diagon Alley. Harper mentioned something about Mina being able to make books look sexy as she leaned over to drink from one of the milkshakes. It was hard not to laugh at that one. “I’m sure that would explain why some of those old geezers come into the store all the time. Nobody over forty or still in school. Those are my standards.” She nodded her head, approving of them. If she didn’t have some kind of standard, then her sister would probably tie her up at home and never let her leave. Staring at her plates of half-eaten food and almost finished drink, Mina waved the server over. There was no way she was going to eat all of this, even with the help from Harper. Plus she kind of had work tomorrow. Or was it today? She didn’t even know. What she did know was that she was sober enough to stand up, which she did upon getting her change back. Taking one last swig of her drink, she stuffed the change in her pocket, grabbed her jacket and was about to leave, only stopping to lean in towards Harper. “Hit me up if you ever decide that modeling is boring.” She giggled, stepping back and waving before leaving. [THE END. ADIOS HARPER]
