@jill Scorpius yawned as his mother stood up to take his sister to bed. In a second here, it was going to be bedtime for him as well. The coziness of the room was more than enough to turn on the sleepy mode. That was one of the reasons why he had issues working in the common room at night, especially with the fire place roaring in the background. The sublime crackle of fire and soft scratching of pen on paper was almost an instant knockout for him, even with the most important of work. For whatever reason, getting up and doing patrols always helped clear that feeling up. Tonight though, he was probably going to go straight back to the common room and crash. The more he had thought about patrols, the more he realized that he was too tired to get angry at students. An exhausted prefect made mistakes, and Scorpius didn’t make mistakes anywhere other than with his love life, as was quite apparent recently. Yawning again as he waited, his eyes rolled back a couple times. He hadn’t even noticed the quiet tick-tock of a clock somewhere in the room. Almost immediately his breathing was in pace with it, and that really didn’t help out too much. Resting his eyes slightly, he heard his mother enter back into the room, explaining that she hoped everything would work out. Nodding his head slightly, he thought about it. “I hope so too. I think owning up to mistakes is important, no matter what they are.” If he really wanted to continue with that philosophy, then Rose would know about virtually everything he did. Hopefully that wasn’t a little creepy. “Actually, I’m barely holding on here so I think I’m going to head back to the common room. Patrols can wait for tomorrow night.” [OOC: one more each?]

@scorp <3 When she had looked down at Scorpius, his eyes had immediately opened back up. Astoria couldn't help but smile at the sight. She did hope he was getting enough sleep as he had previously stated. Her motherly instincts were constantly kicking in, especially with Lyra here and just having tons of other students underneath her watch. Astoria nodded at her son's latest comment on mistakes. It was all true, what he had said. She just hoped that whatever he ended up going through in life that he matched it with much maturity and grace.
"I understand, and I'm glad you're putting yourself first tonight. Thankfully it's not too late, you should get a full night's rest of sleep." Astoria smiled. She stood by the edge of the couch as Scorpius stood up. "You can visit more, Scorpius. Unless of course you just love getting away from your mother." She laughed and tilted her head. "I'll try to get your dad to come for a visit, or maybe we can go home for a weekend."

@jill A full night’s sleep was almost unheard as of late, mainly because he had subjected himself to tortuous hours of thinking. Everything seemed to be falling into place in just the right ways though, concerning him and Rose, and whilst he didn’t know what her response was yet, he had a good feeling about it. Hopefully that wasn’t getting too far ahead of himself, because the last thing he wanted to do was become cocky from the lesson that was supposed to be learned from all of this. Sleep was well earned now, though. He agreed with his mother on that. “No, I should stop by more. Figured you were always busy with work and on top of my own duties it always gets pushed off.” While it was an excuse, it was an incredibly real one, since that had been his reality. Actually finding time to breathe, let alone anything else, had been difficult these last few years. Dropping Quidditch helped out with that slightly. “Seeing Dad would be great, considering I won’t be home for break.” His father was probably going to hear all about this conversation and want to add a little bit here and there, just to show that he cared as well. Reaching the door, Scorpius popped the handle down so the door cracked open. Turning back, he gave his mother a small smile. “Night Mum. Love you.” Stepping out into the corridor, he shut the door behind him. [Scorp Out]
