Addilyn had just ended her dance with Grey, and was still looking around for Edmund. She couldn't find him for some reason; he had gone MIA. She couldn't see his sisters either, nor Will, so she wondered if they were all talking about something. Her eyes widened and she blushed, hoping they weren't all talking about her. Addilyn usually wasn't embarrassed or self conscious, but Edmund had said he'd be telling the rest of his family about them tonight and she suddenly felt very worrisome of what they all thought of her.
Music began again after a small break for the DJ's, and Addilyn took a deep breath, walking over to the drink table. She got some punch and took a sip, looking over the crowd for her freckled friend. No where to be seen. Her eyes narrowed, but she made her way over to a smaller corner of the dance floor, just standing in a random spot. Grey was over with some people she didn't recognize, and she assumed it might be for the paper. Addi took another sip of her punch and sighed, realizing just how tired she was.

@jill2 <3 So far, Daryl's night was going fantastic. He had his dance with Ondina, and he had also met another girl. Someone from Durmstrang; though she wouldn't release her name to him. Not that he minded, it just meant he could continue going back to her as much as he wanted, begging for her name and getting some fun in return. And while Daryl had already had his enjoyment with two women, there was so much more of the night going on, and he had his eyes on the kill.
Lately, Daryl had heard of one such Grey Slater talking quite a bit about him behind his back. Not that Daryl minded, truly, though they did sleep in the same room so tension would be caused. And while Daryl wasn't one to stir up any more drama then necessary, he felt the need to teach Mr. Slater a small lesson in speaking of people that you don't know much about. His sweet little Slytherin sister was alone, finally. Perfect timing. Clearing his throat, Daryl began striding up to her, a friendly smile on his lips. "Hello there, Miss Slater. Having a fine evening?"

@jill16 <3 Addilyn took the glass of water away from her lips and when she looked up to the person coming towards her, her eyes widened. Amusement danced through her bright blues and she smiled to herself, trying to keep laughter from leaving her lips. How great was this? Her and Grey had just been talking about Daryl and how she'd never think of him in any such way. But like she had told him, Daryl was sweet to her and Addilyn reciprocated the niceness.
Her hair fell over her shoulder as she smiled widely at him. "I'm having a wonderful time, Daryl! But please just call me Addi, or Addilyn. Miss or Mrs. Slater just reminds me of my mum." She giggled. There wasn't anything wrong with her mother, but Addi felt old when called by her last name. "Are you having fun? Is Ondina your date?" She knew Ondina was Grey's date, technically...but that lasted a whole of maybe five minutes.

@jill2 <3 Daryl's eyebrows rose as she asked him to just call her Addi or Addilyn, but he nodded his head slowly, smiling. He kept up his chivalrous manner, however. It is what got all the girls going. And while he wasn't positive about Addilyn and that Edmund character, he didn't care either. As far as he knew, Addilyn Slater was as single as he was, and this was the perfect pass to get in. She was alone, in the corner, and her brother was no where to be seen.
"Alright then, Addilyn...I am glad you are having a good time. Though I'm sure you are just as beautiful as your mother, if not more." Daryl winked at Addi as he set his own glass down on a nearby table, finally emptied. She then asked him the same, and if Ondina was his own date. His eyebrows lifted, and Daryl bit his lip, stopping a laugh. "I am enjoying myself. But no, Ondina is not my date. I didn't come with one." His tone of voice was silk as he looked her up and down, eyes filling with lust.

@jill16 <3 Addi blushed a light pink and smiled. Daryl obviously didn't know what her mother looked like, and while she was beautiful, Addilyn actually looked more like her father. Same facial features, blonde hair, blue eyes. Her sister and brother looked much more like there mother, yet Claire also got their father's blonde hair. "Well thank you, Daryl, that's very sweet of you." This was all a bit amusing to her, and she wondered if Edmund knew of Daryl's reputation and how he would react if he saw her speaking with him...probably the same as Edmund would.
His voice made her eyebrows raise. Did he not see her dancing with Edmund all night? Well, technically they were still a secret, unless someone had seen them kissing each other outside. But from what she had seen, not many people were around when they were walking together. "Oh, she isn't? I could've sworn she was, you guys look great together."

@jill16 <3 Her blush made him smirk even wider. She definitely had a cute face, and as he looked at her body it was definitely one to be appreciated, almost exactly like her sister. Daryl was very observant, especially when it came to siblings. The Slater's were a gorgeous family, even if all three of them had problems and more problems. "You're quite welcome, sweetheart."
His eyes narrowed and he chuckled quietly. Addilyn's eyebrows had risen, but Daryl wasn't taking that as a no. She seemed slightly embarrassed, but Daryl knew how to get these types of girls under his wing. It was easier than most might expect, and he was surprised how many guys couldn't just be forward and kiss them. Sharply, he looked at Ondina quickly, who was still speaking with her mother. They did look great together, but there was no way Daryl would bring anyone as a date. No, those were for people who had feelings. "We do...but I think I'd look even better with you..." Smirking, Daryl rubbed the side of her dress, moving closer, and quickly pressed his lips on the girls.

@jill16 @edmund - YOUR TURN grey xavier slater - You can enter if you want after Edmund, up to you <3 <3 Addilyn took in a sharp breath as he called her sweetheart. This was getting weird. Addilyn had only spoken to Daryl a handful of times within the six years that she went to school with him. So for him to be so forward and ... flirty towards her was unusual. Had he overheard her conversation with her older brother earlier? She hoped not, as they had slightly made fun of him a couple of times. Addilyn blushed deeper, becoming a bit nervous.
He watched as he looked back at Ondina, and Addilyn had a feeling that what she had said to Grey earlier might be true. Usually, Addi wasn't one to guess feelings or see when other's really liked one another, but her eyes narrowed at Daryl's change in appearance. Though, she didn't say anything about it. He obviously didn't want anyone to know, so she kept that to herself. But then he moved closer, and was touching her dress, and Addilyn held up her hands. "Oh, no Daryl. I've- I've got to go find Edmund, my boyfri-" He got close enough that her hands rested against his chest, and then he kissed her.
Addilyn's eyes widened, and using her hands she pushed him away after a few seconds. "Daryl! What was that about?!" And then, as if the worst possible thing could happen, she looked past Daryl, and saw Edmund, staring at the two of them.

After his dance with Lucy, Ed started looking around for Addi. He knew that she was planning on spending time with Grey, but he was hoping that she was ready for him to interrupt them. Even if she wasn't, Edmund was ready to dance with his girlfriend. But he was having a really hard time finding her. It seemed like it took ages before Edmund finally saw her across the room, talking with Daryl Thomas. The boy was a year older than they were so Edmund didn't know him well, but the whole school knew about his reputation with the ladies. Why was he talking with Addi? Daryl's back was to Ed, but he was at an angle and could kind of see Addi on the other side of the Gryffindor boy and she was smiling. Edmund hesitated for a second. Would she get mad at him for being possessive if he went over there and interrupted her conversation. Then he saw it. She lifted her hands to his chest and the two of them kissed. Edmund was in shock as he stared. What was probably only seconds felt like hours and his blood started boiling as he watched Daryl kissing his girlfriend. His girlfriend who wasn't pulling away from him. What was she doing? Edmund looked away for a moment, trying to find something to distract him from what he just saw. When he looked back, they were no longer kissing and Addi was looking straight at him. His eyes narrowed as he looked at her, then he shook his head and walked away. He didn't want to make a scene in the middle of the dance floor at the Yule Ball and the only way to keep himself from doing that was to leave. He stormed out of the ballroom and outside, where he and Addi walked just a short while ago. He couldn't believe what she did. She lied to him and he ... he was done. @jill2 @jill16 ?? grey xavier slater ??

@jill2 & @edmund & @jill16 Grey was a little disheartened that Rai, and he supposed Finn as well, had to run off for work already. Their talk and subsequent dance had gone on for some time, but so far his night had gone from one dance to the next, unfortunately leaving quickly soon after. It didn’t help that he had his club members assigned to write articles on the ball constantly approaching him whenever he had a free moment. He understood that they wanted guidance and whatnot, but he was here on his free time, not assignment like them. Plus he was gone in a few months, graduated, no longer the editor-in-chief. They needed to figure things out on their own going forward.
That’s what he was currently doing, at least. It had been a few minutes since Finn and Rai had gone off to do their thing, and he was now being swamped by a few of the younger members. Questions on who they should interview and what pictures to take mostly. His answer? Do whatever. It was their article after all, and they should have come in with a game plan to begin with. That had all been outlined weeks ago. Not his problem if they didn’t plan accordingly. Finally shooing them off, one after the other, Grey decided he needed a drink. And not the kind that most of the students in here were drinking. Something with more of an edge, so that he could finally relax and figure out what to do the rest of the night now that his original date and the one that followed disappeared on him. He wasn’t upset about that, since there were jobs that needed to be done after all.
Turning towards the bar that had been set up for the event, Grey spotted Addi standing in front of it. Apparently she hadn’t found Edmund yet, or at least had decided to look in the refreshments section to see if he was there, which they had briefly talked about earlier in the night. The troubling part of what he was watching didn’t exactly pertain to his sister though, it was the person that walked up to her and started talking with her. Daryl. Of course it was Daryl. It was always Daryl. While Grey didn’t care that Daryl picked up Ondina where he had left off, his sister was a different story. Innocent talking was fine, but what followed was not. He immediately felt his body stiffen up as Addi finally pushed away from Daryl, and the quick flurry of movement from the other side of them indicated that Edmund had also been a witness to it.
It only took a few quick strides to be right up next to them, another step in between so that he was practically face to face with Daryl. His housemate was half a foot taller than him, but that didn’t matter to Grey. “I don’t want to know Addi,. Edmund just walked out of the Great Hall.” He stated flatly, keeping his emotions nonexistent. Grey didn’t break his eye line from Daryl though, maintaining it to make sure he left a lasting impression. “And you,” he started, hoping that his sister had enough time to leave by now. “You need to learn your boundaries. I don’t care whose pants you’re in, but get any closer to my sister and these last few months of school are going to be a living hell. Trust me.” Grey paused, making sure that he kept his voice low enough to avoid disturbing anyone else. This wasn’t a matter that needed to be discussed with everyone at the ball. Daryl had made sure that it was personal already. “Now get out of my way and find one of your toys or something. I need a drink.” Holding his glare for a few more seconds, Grey finally broke it and turned to the bar, pushing past a few people. He didn’t want to discuss anything else tonight.

Her eyes didn't meet Daryl's. They met Edmund's. And Edmund's narrowed. She felt her heart breaking, and it was like her soul was being ripped out of her chest as her best friend, her boyfriend, looked away from her and stormed out of The Great Hall, not taking another look at her. He was mad. He thought she was cheating on her. With Daryl Thomas, of all people. Her eyes began filling with tears, and she sobbed as she watched his green robes turn the corner and go outside.
Before she could even do or say anything, the one person that stood in between her and Daryl was not one she had been expecting; Grey. But the back of his head was to her, and the front to Daryl, and a few tears fell as she sobbed once more. Addilyn listened as Grey spoke, trying to hear him over the music. His tone of voice sounded like he was angry with her, which caused a few more tears to fell. Oh, she hoped he wasn't. As Addi walked past Daryl and Grey, not looking at either of them, she rested her hand on her brother's shoulder. "Thank you, Grey."

Within a few seconds, possibly even a minute, Addilyn had pushed him away, and completely looked past him. "What? You're saying you didn't like it? That's a first...most girls do like it. And me." Daryl chuckled, and then took a deep breath as Grey Slater stood in between them. Slowly, his eyes moved from Addilyn's to her older brother's, a smirk resting on his face, and he looked quite passive as he listened to Grey tell his sister to go after this Edmund character.
The girl left quickly, thanking him, and Daryl didn't even feel a small pang of guilt. Mostly because he knew no one would ever dare to this to his little sister, not with a brother like him. Grey, on the other hand, was not even the slightest bit intimidating to him or many other people. Maybe the circles under his eyes could seem slightly scary, but Daryl had no worries about him. And the more Grey spoke, or angrily yelled at him, Daryl's smirk got wider and wider. And just before Grey walked past him, he spoke. "Keep my name out of your mouth, Slater. Or your sister will become one of my toys."
