So, Viola was going on a date. That was something new. Even more surprising than that was the fact that they were going on a date with Maria, who was notorious for sleeping around, but not exactly for settling down. If they were honest, Viola had expected to go on their first real date with Roxy, but they were still working on how to bring up the whole 'I have a girlfriend but I want to date you' thing. But today wasn't supposed to be about Roxy - it was supposed to be about Maria. And Viola. Together. Viola hadn't been sure how to prepare, especially since there wasn't really much to prepare - they didn't have much hair to style and their face looked better with minimal amounts of makeup. They could have put time into their outfit but everything was pretty much the same style, just in different colors. Except pink, because pink was stupid. Which was exactly why Viola had chosen to have their date with Maria in a place that was the embodiment of the color pink. Good going, Viola. Good going. They had snagged a table near the front of the tea shop (not wanting to see what, exactly, was going on in the back...) And were now waiting for Maria to show up...if she showed up at all.

A date.
Wasn't that such a strange word? An even stranger concept. To make it absolutely insane? Just think that Maria was going on one. Maria didn't go on dates. Ever. Somehow Viola had managed to get the half Veela to agree though. Without any fuss. But was that really surprising? It was a known fact that Viola had Maria wrapped tightly around their finger. The normally very dominate and demanding girl magically seemed to transform into a simpering puppy that's sole purpose was to please it's master. Anything Viola wanted or asked (well... maybe not anything...).
Maria had already had an eventful morning in Hogsmeade, and now she and Viola were meeting up for lunch. From what she'd found out about the cafe before hand was that it was the 'hot spot' for dates... And over the top. When Maria saw it she understood what they'd meant. She'd never seen so much pink in a single cafe in her life. It was almost like Cupid threw up all over the place. A moment later and Maria spotted Viola at one of the tables at the front, and grinned. Oh, Viola stood out like a sore thumb. Well, at least Maria knew Viola had been serious about this date thing is they were willing to be so outrageously out of their element like this. "You know, I like seeing you around so much pink. It makes you stand out." Maria mused as she stepped into the shop and lowered herself into the chair across from Viola.

Waiting for Maria to come was like waiting for rain to stop during a storm. At first, it seemed impossible that it would ever happen, and then, suddenly, it wasn’t impossible anymore, because the rain had stopped, and Maria was there, in front of them. Maria said that they stuck out among all the pink, and Viola raised their eyebrows. “I think that’s a compliment, but for some reason, I feel insulted.” The longer they stared here, the more Viola was sure that this was an awful idea. Viola found Maria’s feet under the table, and nudged them with their own. “How’s your morning been?” Viola asked, leaning forward slightly and putting their elbows on the table, because the rules of etiquette were stupid, and if they had to be in a tea shop, they were going to be comfortable. Besides, putting their elbows on the table also made them look more attentive, though Viola only really cared about Maria’s day if she had been seeing anyone else.

Insulted? Maria tilted her head and offered the most innocent smile she could. "I'd never insult you, Viola." she answered slowly and seriously. There was a subtle prodding on her foot, no doubt Viola. Instinctively Maria shifted to wrap her ankles around that same foot that had nudged her. She liked havin contact with Viola, any kind of contact. Even something as small as this.
As for how her morning had been so far... "Eventful." she answered truthfully and vaguely. It had. She's run into that Ministry worker, Samuel, and Fred Weasley. At least now she knew who it was Elias was interested in and she could truthfully admit that she hadn't gone out of her way to do it. But she did lent admit either of those encounters. Viola would know quite well by now that Maria didn't give away information unless you specifically asked for it. "What about yours?"

Viola couldn’t help but grin at Maria when she said she’d never insult them. That made sense, really, but Viola still liked the reassurance. Underneath the table, Maria’s feet wrapped around Viola’s ankle, and though they kept their face straight, a surge of confusion went through them. Were they playing footsie? Ugh. The romantic atmosphere was beginning to go to Viola’s head already, and they hadn’t even ordered anything yet.
Maria answered that the morning was eventful, and Viola raised a single eyebrow. “Any events I ought to know about?” Maybe asking Maria to make the judgement about what they did and didn’t need to know about was a bad idea, but trust was integral to a relationship, right? Maria asked how their morning was, and Viola shrugged. “Uneventful.” They returned with a smirk. Part of their answer had been for the satisfaction of the juxtaposition, but it was the truth, too – there was really nothing for them to do on the weekends except hang around Maria.

Viola's grin made Maria feel a swell of pride. Maria hadn't been trying to get that sort of reaction from her partner but she'd take it. But to be honest Maria liked any reaction she could get out of Viola. Viola did managed not to react by the contact Maria was forcing on them though, which was a shame but Maria didn't pull away. She liked it, and Viola already knew that she had no sense of personal space (one of her favorite pastimes seemed to be invading Viola's own bubble.). Maria's answer hadn't gone unnoticed by Viola, who rather than pushing for a straight answer only asked if it was anything they should know about. That made Maria stop to think, lightly tapping a finger against her chin. Were any of the events worth telling Viola? When Maria had agreed to be Viola's girlfriend she'd also agreed to tell Viola whenever she was (sexually) interested in someone, and was going to pursue something. But none of her encounters had been that way today. So, technically Maria didn't have to tell Viola anything. At the same time though Maria had already shared some of her biggest secrets with Viola, so why should she withhold the information? "I ran into that boy Elias is interested in." She finally answered, offering up the encounter that had made her morning interesting.
Of course Viola had to response with the same shortness that Maria had, smirking as they did it. Maria, of course, grinned at that. "I can make it much more eventful if you want." She offered.

Maria admitted that she had run into the boy that Elias was interested in, and Viola raised their eyebrows. “Fred Weasley.” They said, half-remembering the name because Maria had said it and half-remembering it because it was the name of Roxy’s brother. “Did you scare him off?” Viola asked. They didn’t think Elias would be pleased if Maria had done that, but she had a tendency to be intimidating – both accidentally and (more often) on purpose. It wasn’t really their problem, but still, keeping Elias out of Maria’s hair was their prerogative, because Maria already spent enough time with others without adding a clingy cousin to the mix.
Maria offered to make Viola’s morning more eventful, and they chuckled. “How do you intend on doing that?” Viola asked. If they were honest, they kind of wanted Maria to go all fireball on this place. Pretty much everything was flammable, and the decorations could do with an update. But then again, that would probably put Maria on the run from the law, and Viola didn’t want their girlfriend to be a fugitive. And other than setting things on fire, Maria tended to make things interesting by seducing people, and…was Viola already seduced? Kind of, but they were going to hold on to their last bargaining chip – sex – as long as they possible could.

"Yes, him." Maria had, unfortunately, temporarily forgotten the boy's first name. She'd remembered it started with an F, but Fred had momentarily escaped her. At Viola's question, asking if she'd scared him off, Maria feigned absolute innocence and shock. "Me? Chase him off? I'd never!" Oh she would. She knew that quite well. If Fred had given her a reason to she wouldn't have hesitated. If she'd gotten the feeling that he'd hurt Elias, or that he wasn't good for her cousin. "For the moment I am mildly satisfied that he isn't a complete threat." She explained with a nonchalant shrug. At least now she knew who the boy was, and he knew what would happen if he hurt Elias. She could take a step back and let her cousin have his fun.
A wide and wolfish smile appeared at Viola's chuckle and comment. It almost sounded like a challenge. How? "Depends on what kind of eventful you want." Good or bad.

Maria seemed entirely nonplussed with the fact that Viola had mentioned Fred by name, but they didn’t much care. Typical. Viola’s attention was drawn back to Maria when she insisted that she would never chase off a suitor of Elias’s. The thought was so preposterous that Viola let out a snort. It probably wasn’t a sound often heard in the tea shop, so Viola was a bit worried that heads would turn, but everyone seemed too intent on making googly eyes at their significant others to care about anything else. “That sounded extremely confident.” Viola commented drily. Mildly satisfied that he wasn’t a complete threat didn’t sound like Maria was confident at all. But when it came to Elias, Viola wasn’t sure Maria would ever be satisfied.
When asked what kind of eventful they wanted, Viola smirked. “Just make something happen, darling.” Viola said, affecting a sickeningly sweet voice for the last word of her command, to match with the atmosphere of the tea shop. They trusted that Maria would do something to make the date more interesting.

Maria finally unwrapped her feet from around Viola's and leaned toward, her elbows on the table. Of course Maria wasn't completely confident, but she wasn't relying purely on trust here. "I don't have to be confident. He knows what'll happen if he hurts Elias." And Maria would follow through on those threats. Elias might not tell her if anything happened though, but that was where the bracelet came into play. She'd know, whether he wanted her to or not.
Propping her head in her hands she continued to give Viola that grin. The one that usually meant Maria was up to something. "That's specific." She started as she raised her head from her hands and reached out to grab a fistful of Viola's shirt and pull them towards her for a forceful kiss. Whether Viola would permit the pull and kiss or not, Maria would speak a moment later. "Say please, and maybe I'll listen." Well, that was interesting. Maria who normally did anything and everything Viola demanded was making her own demand.

Viola raised their eyebrows when Maria propped her elbows on the table and said that Fred knew what would happen if he hurt Elias. “And if Elias hurts Fred?” They challenged. Maria seemed to think her cousins was capable of no wrongs, but Viola knew just as well as anyone else that in any relationship, there were two people who could have their hearts broken. Except maybe this one, because Viola doubted that Maria had ever been brokenhearted about anyone before. They didn’t want Fred Weasley to be left being punished if Elias did something stupid and then went whining about it.
Viola shrugged. Just like Maria didn’t need to be confident, they didn’t need to be specific. Maria would think of something. Viola’s mind was quickly drawn elsewhere, though, not because of the forceful kiss Maria bestowed upon their lips, but because of the way she smelled. Like…boy. “If you were going to sleep with someone before you came here, you could’ve at least had the decency to shower.” They snapped, shoving Maria off of them. They shouldn’t have expected Maria to behave like a decent human being, Viola thought with a huff. “I’m going.” They announced, rising to leave.

"What happens to Fred isn't my concern." Was Maria's cold retort. Why should she care about him getting hurt? He wasn't her family. He was just some boy her cousin was infatuated with. Whether it went anywhere or not... Who knew. But either way. Not her problem. Besides, Elias was a good guy. He wouldn't hurt anyone.
Sleep with someone? Maria pulled back just as fast as Viola pushed with a look of pure confusion. What in the world was giving Viola the idea that she'd slept with.... Oh. Shower. Viola could smell someone's cologne on her? Hm. Probably Samuel's now that she thought about it. But boy was Viola pissed! And intending to leave at that! Maria instantly got to her feet and stepped around the table, between Viola and the door. Normally, being accused of sleeping with someone wouldn't even phase her, but for some reason.... Well being accused by Viola struck a nerve. "Don't accuse me of something I haven't done, Viola." She hissed quietly before stepping closer. "I agreed to tell you before doing anything like that, didn't I?" She added, forcing her voice to soften a little.

Viola sighed a little at Maria’s response to their question. “You know, most people care about more than just the people close to them.” Viola was a bit of a hypocrite in saying that, considering they could hardly bring themself to care about anything at all, but it was worth pointing out that saying you weren’t concerned about the fate of your cousin’s boyfriend was a little…odd.
Maria stepped between them and the door, and Viola had half a mind to shove her out of the way, if they weren’t worried that doing that would get them a face full of flame. Maria told them not to accuse her of something she hadn’t done, and Viola sighed. “Give me one good reason to believe that you would hold up your end of the promise, Maria.” She hadn’t ever changed for anyone before, and Viola would be stupid to believe that they were special in that way. “You’ve slept with more guys than I can count, and you come in smelling like you did shower, just in some guy’s cologne. I’m not a child. I can put two and two together.”

Maria rolled her eyes. Why should she care about people she wasn't close to? "If I cared about every single person that I didn't like I'd spend all my time worrying." And Maria liked being selfish and only caring about herself and those few people that she was actually close to. "That sounds like more trouble then what it's worth." she finished her thought with a shrug.
Maria shouldn't be annoyed. She shouldn't be upset. She had a reputation for sleeping with anyone and everyone. She didn't even know how many partners she'd had over the years. Being accused of one more shouldn't have even made her blink. But Viola was her partner. The building anger was written all over her face. "Then check," She hissed, not even bothering hide that anger. If Viola was so sure Maria had slept with someone there was a sure fire way to get the truth out. Maria didn't expect Viola to take the offer though. "If you didn't think I'd keep my promise, then why'd you ask me?" She added, that anger still there. This was stupid, to get angry over something so trivial (trivial to her), but Maria couldn't help it.
Scowling she stepped away. "I may be a slut, Viola. But I'm not a liar." She didn't wait for Viola's response. She turned and left.
Maria was really bad at this dating thing.

Viola shook their head when Maria said that if she cared for everyone, she’d spend her whole time worrying. Viola didn’t mean that Maria had to care for everyone, but caring about the people that her people cared about seemed prudent. And considering how small everyone’s social circles seemed to be, it wouldn’t have added many more people to the list of people Maria had to concern herself with.
Maria was angry at Viola’s accusation, and they weren’t sure whether that made them feel better or worse. When Maria spoke, though, Viola didn’t fire back, even though they had about a hundred things to say for every one that Maria did. Like, how the hell were they supposed to check if Maria had slept with someone? Ask every man in a fifty-mile radius if they had been charmed by a Romani girl? That didn’t even work, because Apparition was a thing, and someone could have come from the far-flung reaches of the world, had a little romp, and then returned to their home before Viola was any the wiser. This was all so stupid!
Maria finished by saying that she was a slut, but not a liar, and Viola just shook their head in frustration as Maria stormed away. Viola had wanted a scene…but not one like this.
