Jamie knew a thing or two about backup plans. Sometimes it felt like her life was one big backup plan. Then again, if her mother had had a backup plan, Jamie probably wouldn’t have even existed, or at least wouldn’t have grown up to be the person that she was. “I just don’t want to be a burden.” Jamie said, in case her earlier statements hadn’t been enough to solidify that. “So I want to be able to get a job, even if it’s not my number one choice.” It wasn’t like Jamie was going to be unhappy if she ended up being a potioneer the rest of her life – just that she would always have that little itch in the back of her mind, the one that wondered if maybe she would have been better off as a Quidditch player. “I’ve let people take care of me before…” Jamie said, trailing off. “I guess part of the reason why I’m not interested in it is because normally the circumstances aren’t so great.” Wow, she was really running her mouth, wasn’t she? This saleswoman didn’t want to hear every intimate detail of her life.

@jamie <3 "I think...if your siblings really love you, you'd never be a burden to them." Celia smiled. She knew her brother could be annoying sometimes, but she couldn't ever consider him a burden. She loved him dearly, no matter what or how much he needed from her and she hoped he might reciprocate that feeling. Jamie went on to explain how the circumstances weren't always the best, and she nodded her head in understanding. "No, not really. And I'm sure that feeling of wanting to be able to do things on your own doesn't help either. Feeling weak and incapable of taking care of yourself." Unfortunately Celia knew that all too well, but was lucky enough to be able to start her own business. Mostly because her family was wealthy and gave her a good amount of start up money; though if she wanted to, or if her parents would allow her, she could pay them back easily. "How many siblings do you have?"

The thing was, Jamie was entirely sure that all of her siblings really loved her. Max? Definitely. Lily? Also a definite. But the others were more…nebulous. Jamie thought she knew how they felt and then they’d say something that would send her spiraling back to square one. She knew she loved all of them, but that wasn’t really something that she had chosen. She just loved, and didn’t know how to turn it off.
Sadly enough, Jamie did know a thing or two about feeling weak and incapable. She chose not to comment on that, though, and was relieved when a much easier topic of conversation came up – her siblings. She was much better at talking about that than virtually anything else. “I have six. Well, technically five, but Lily and I are related in everything but blood, and she’s dating my brother anyways, so it counts.” Jamie explained, rambling a little but for once not caring. “Two older, four younger. The older are a boy and a girl, and the younger two boys and two girls.” Jamie said. Technically the girls outnumbered the boys, which would be interesting if they ever got around to having another awkward family reunion.

Celia listened, eyes a bit wider, and ended up laughing. "I know what you mean. My best friend Eleanor is dating my cousin, but I've always considered her my sister anyways. It's good to have friends like that, ones you think of as family no matter what." She was shocked to hear of how many siblings Jamie had, but also assumed that she wasn't a Weasley. This Lily girl looked more like one than anything, and while Victoire and Celia had gone to school together and were close in age, she couldn't ever recall her mentioning a Jamie in the family. "That's a lot of siblings! I've only got my one younger brother."

@jill10 & @jamie Jamie’s last comment as Lily headed towards the changing room didn’t sit well with her. She had been so happy talking about Will and all, and now that was all gone. Things happened, she supposed, so it wasn’t exactly useful to dwell on something that didn’t directly affect her, outside the fact that it was worrying that Jamie didn’t come to her about it immediately after. Lily couldn’t help a lot on that subject, seeing as Adrian was still alive and kicking and didn’t look like he was going anywhere anytime soon, but she knew what to say every now and again.
Popping the door the changing room open, it being exactly where the nice shop lady had instructed, Lily hopped in, taking one last look at the two chatting away near the front of the store. The real struggle was about to begin though. It probably would have been smarter to take a few pairs of pants, in case the ones she had picked out were too small or too big, but it was too late for that now. Practically throwing them on, she was surprised that they were the perfect size. That was almost too easy. That meant she had to buy them now. Switching back over to her regular pants, she hopped back out of the changing room. Jamie seemed to be having a decent conversation with the lady still, so Lily decided to browse some of the racks near the back of the store. After a few minutes of looking, there wasn’t anything else that screamed at her for attention, so she made her way back to the front of the store.
“My friends are more like family than some of my family is.” Lily piped up as she got back to her original position at the front of the store. “Like this one!” She added, wrapping her arm around Jamie’s shoulders and pointing at the Hufflepuff as she did so. “And I think these ones are perfect too.” she stated, holding the pair of pants up.

Jamie nodded when Celia said that her best friend was dating her cousin. Considering Jamie now suddenly had six cousins to worry about, she thought maybe she ought to be worried about her friends dating them, but… There were other things to worry about at the moment, like actually meeting said cousins. And the ‘no matter what’ part of Celia’s claim about friends being like family was the important part to Jamie. Even if Lily and Adrian did break up – which Jamie honestly couldn’t see happening anytime soon – Lily was still Jamie’s sister. At that moment, said sister appeared from wherever she had been. Lily had taken an awful long time to try on just one pair of pants, Jamie thought. Had she been eavesdropping? No, that wasn’t really Lily’s style. If she wanted to know something, she didn’t need to sneak around looking for it.
“What, you like me better than Albus?” Jamie teased, squeezing Lily a little tighter against her. “Having a lot of siblings gets crazy. Having to juggle them all…” Jamie shrugged a little. “Lily’s the only easy one.” Jamie said with a laugh. More like she was the only one that was anything close to emotionally stable. And when Lily Potter was the closest you had to emotional stability… No offense to Lily, but she wasn’t exactly the most constant person. “I’m sure they look great on you, Lils. I was just telling Celia that when I find out that my father left me a huge fortune, I’ll come back.” She teased. Lily was one of the only people that Jamie felt comfortable joking with Fenrir about… Had she mentioned her last name to Celia, or was she just going to think that Jamie was slightly crazy? No matter, Jamie thought. She’d get money and she’d come back.

The red head, Lily, popped out of the dressing room and bounced over to the two blondes. She spoke about her friends and her family somewhat and Celia smiled. Lily threw her arm around Jamie and her smile got a bit larger. The two of them reminded her of her and Eleanor completely, and she missed her friend more than ever. She had seen her the first day back in England, though they hadn't spent a very long time together. "That's good, getting an easy one." Celia considered Cyrus the easy one, much more than Erik and his little sister.
Lily held up the pair of pants and Celia grinned. "That's great! Would you like to keep searching around or are you ready to check out?" She'd help her find more if need be, something to match the pants or even a nice item of jewelry to go with it. Jamie then mentioned her father leaving a fortune and Celia laughed, waving her hand. "Trust me, you won't need a fortune to shop here. I keep the prices very attainable."

@jill10 & @jamie “Well, I like James the most. Al is okay I guess.” She trailed off, not breaking from her grin at all. She loved both of her brothers, but she knew that things were strained between the two of them. Al just needed to lighten up a little sometimes! That was all. Then they’d all be best buds again. It was easy, as far as she was concerned. She laughed at the notion of being the easy one of the werewolves. That was a funny joke. Or was it? Didn’t matter to her though, because being the easy one meant that everyone liked her for who she was, not that it would make a difference how she acted.
Lily nodded her head as Jamie explained how once she had her father’s fortune, she’d be able to come back and buy something. That didn’t make any sense though, considering that her father was the scary werewolf guy. Duh. It was because her father was the scary werewolf guy. Why didn’t she get the joke the first time around? “Wouldn’t that be wonderful? It’d be like a second Christmas!” Lily considered the offer to check out already, but she wasn’t sure if she was ready to go just yet. That and the fact that Jamie needed to at least try something on. It’d be a waste of time just to stand here and talk to a worker as she tried on things. “Jammmieee go find something too. At least so you have an idea for when you get all that money,” Lily pleaded, making sure to put the extra effort into guilt tripping the Hufflepuff for feeling bad about standing there.

“James, Jamie, same difference, right?” Jamie asked with a little smile when Lily said that James was her favorite. She was kind of glad that she had never had a substantial conversation with either of Lily’s brothers; trying to explain her relationship to their sister was definitely never going to be an easy task, but with people who were actually related to her was…weird. The Hufflepuff couldn’t help but feel like she had a larger claim on the Gryffindor girl than either of the Potter boys did; she knew the part of Lily that not many got to see – the wolf in the girl, and the girl in the wolf. It was fascinating, and as a fellow wolf, Jamie could understand it better than most.
Jamie snorted a little when Celia said that she didn’t need a fortune to shop at the boutique. “Good, because I’m not getting one.” She said, shaking her head a little. If Fenrir did somehow leave her some money, that would be about the only good thing that he’d done for her, apart from all of the siblings. Lily started begging her to try something on, and Jamie glanced down at her sister, and then at Celia, unsure of what to do. She would feel bad leaving Lily hanging, but she’d feel even worse if she wasted Celia’s time when the Hufflepuff had already made it abundantly clear she didn’t intend to purchase anything. “If she doesn’t mind…” Jamie began softly, glancing back and forth again.

Celia kept quiet for a moment, allowing the girl's to speak. She moved only a row over, beginning to fold some more jeans and pants that another customer had gone through and thrown around. Celia didn't have any type of obsessive compulsive disorder, but when it came to her store and things being in order there was always a certain place for things to go. The clothing had to be in order by size and color coordinated. Her employees knew of this and thankfully followed protocol.
The girls mentioned Jamie trying something on and Celia laughed as the girl became somewhat nervous. Celia had no problem with people trying things on! You never wanted to buy something you didn't like or something that didn't fit, even if it wasn't at that moment. Even sleeping on it did some good. "Of course you can! I understand having to wait. Would you like to try on a dress?"

@jill10 & @jamie Lily laughed at the comment about James and Jamie being the same. If only. That would be pretty scary. “Nah, James isn’t nearly as pretty, even if he tries. One time he-” Lily cut herself off, deciding now wasn’t the time for a story about her brother and his escapades, doing whatever it was that he did. She was included in those sometimes when he was still in school. Albus was just Albus though. Always doing that thinking thing. What was the fun in that? Nothing. That’s what. “At least he has the long hair right. Apparently girls like the wild man look though. I don’t see it.” She shrugged. It had been awhile since she had talked to her older brother. Hopefully he’d pop into the school or Hogsmeade one of these days and surprise her. Then she could taunt Al for being the favorite sibling. He probably wouldn’t care.
“Never say never Jamie!” Lily playfully punched the Hufflepuff. She knew what she meant though. Then again, Jamie could make her own fortune playing Quidditch or something. She was good enough to do that. Lily turned her attention back to the store lady, who was offering a dress for Jamie to try on. “Yes! A dress! Do it Jamie!” Lily looked around to see where the closest one was, tossing her new pair of pants on the table next to her and reaching for a rack of what looked like dresses. She didn’t really care what they looked like, but visuals always helped when deciding things. One article of clothing in each hand, Lily held them up in front of Jamie’s face, as close as she could get. “Pick one. Now.”

Jamie let out a laugh when Lily insisted that she and Lily’s older brother weren’t the same person, because Jamie was prettier. That was good to know, though Jamie wasn’t sure if Lily was the kind of person who thought that guys weren’t allowed to be pretty, only handsome. Probably not, knowing Lily. The Hufflepuff nodded when the Gryffindor said that her brother had the long hair down. At the comment about girls liking long hair, Jamie shrugged. “I’ve dated a girl with long hair, but never a guy with the same.” She supplied, though it probably wasn’t necessary, given what Lily knew about her dating history. “Maybe I’ll consider it next time.” Jamie teased. She didn’t intend to enter another relationship for a while, because she was so busy, but Jamie was good at accidentally falling into relationships. Jamie wasn’t sure whether she hoped that Celia would say no or what, but she felt a little bit of disappointment when the shopkeeper said that she could try something on. Mostly the Hufflepuff was afraid she was going to see a dress and fall in love with it, and then not be able to buy it. When Lily placed two dresses in front of her and demanded she choose one, the Hufflepuff grabbed the one on the right, out of reflex rather than an actual preference towards it. “I’ll go try this on.” She said, not waiting for an answer before retreating for the changing rooms so she could force some of the blush to recede from her cheeks. @jill10 lily luna potter

Lily's reaction to Celia's question of a dress caused the older blonde to smile. It was nice to see such a good friend for Jamie, even if Celia didn't know either of them all that well. Teenage girls needed their friends, she knew all too well what it was like to not have anyone. Until Eleanor came along of course, then everything felt normal again. Celia hoped it was the same for these two students.
She looked at the two dresses Lily chose and gave Jamie a large smile. Both of them would compliment her complexion nicely, and also make her hair look even more gorgeous. Jamie looked somewhat embarrassed, but after she entered the dressing room Celia wrote her name on the door. "Jamie if you need anything let me know please! And don't forget to show us, we're excited to see it!" Celia gave Lily a small wink.

@jill10 & @jamie Jamie’s teasing initially went right over Lily’s head, causing her to squint as menacingly as she could at her size. “No! No long-haired wild men. Unless it’s James. Then that’s fine. Because it would be perfect.” She didn’t realize how strange that sounded until after she finished. Had the two of them ever even talked before, let alone met? It would happen eventually, because Lily knew she had the power to move mountains if need be. Jamie would probably add a level of sophistication to her brother’s life, though the more she pondered that thought, the more she disliked the idea in general. James was James because of who he was. And since Jamie was pretty much her sibling and James definitely was, then didn’t that make them siblings too? Or did they only share her? It was a far too complicated concept for her to be running through her head, especially since there were more important matters at hand, like Jamie picking one of the dresses she was holding out in front of the Hufflepuff.
Lily was practically quivering with the anticipation that Jamie had to pick one of the two dresses, and after a few moments, she finally did. Score another one for team Lily! There was no way Jamie could have turned her down at that point anyways. She was too nice to do that. Off Jamie went to try it on, and the nice store lady yelled after her that they were excited to see it. Lily could feel a goofy grin come across her face. This lady knew how to work Jamie too, and they had only just met. “Yeah, no hiding in there! I’ll come drag you out if you don’t show us,” Lily added, hoping that if sweet words weren’t enough, physical force would be. She was good at the whole physical thing.

Jamie couldn’t help but laugh at Lily’s attempt to berate her and tell her that she couldn’t date any long-haired wild men. Unless it was her brother? That was a plot twist that Jamie hadn’t expected. Wouldn’t it be weird for your boyfriend’s sister to be dating your brother? Yup, definitely weird, especially since Jamie was fairly certain that Lily’s brother was already dating someone. Jamie wasn’t allowing herself to think much more about what it would be like to kiss a male version of Lily (terrifying was the first word that came to mind) because she was being threatened with bodily harm if she didn’t hurry up and put the dress on. Jamie hadn’t considered hiding, just because she knew how Lily was and knew that she wasn’t going to get away with it. Luckily, the dress was simple enough, with just a zipper in the back that Jamie could get herself if she bent her arm at an awkward angle. Jamie didn’t know why Lily had been in the dressing room for so long earlier, since it was fairly easy to get in and out of the clothes. When Jamie had finished putting the dress on, she looked at herself in the mirror, smoothing the dress down. It definitely wasn’t meant for winter, but that was fine, since she wasn’t going to be able to buy it, anyways. Jamie emerged from the dressing room and made her way back to the main area of the shop where Lily and Celia were waiting for her. Jamie smiled nervously at both of them. “How do I look?”
