al had to admit he was starting to feel like a stalker. he was standing outside the portrait that led to the gryffindor common room waiting to see if his sister came out. he'd been trying to catch up with her for a while but in typical lily fashion, trying to catch her during a moment when she was still was like trying to catch smoke. he had to admit he loved that about his little sister, the crazy energy she could bring to any situation. he had a ball in his hand, tossing it up and down as he leaned his back against the wall next to the fat lady. he'd seen a few people give him odd looks at they walked out but he ignored them. they knew his sister was in the house behind him. he kept tossing the ball up into the air and catching it in the same hand. he'd picked up the ball on their last trip to hogsmeade, finding it in the joke shop but surprisingly there was no joke behind it. it was just that, a ball. something simple that could provide him hours of entertainment and also hours of annoyance for other people. it was the perfect way to kill too birds with one stone. he turned his head to the side as the portrait opened and some first years walked out, giggling and twittering like first years did and he rolled his eyes slightly, leaning to the side a little to call into the common room of the gryffindor tower. "lily potter! come out with your hands up." he said with a smile as the portrait closed itself. he hoped she was actually in there, otherwise it was just going to get weird.

@al The couch in front of the fireplace was finally all hers. The majority of the morning it had been hogged by a group of giggly first year girls, who had wizened up to her tricks and tactics of getting them to move. Lily hated when they started to get smart, because that ruined the fun. Normally she had the full year, but these first years seemed be slightly brighter than the previous ones. They simply ignored her or came up with grand excuses about why they deserved to have the couch. Something about her always using it. She didn’t see a problem with that, seeing as she was practically a seventh year at this point. Everyone knew that during second term the current seventh years pretended that they had already graduated and that meant the sixth years were the new bosses in town. That’s just how things worked around here.
That aside, the chatty little first years had laid claim to the couch all morning, so Lily took it upon herself to sit in a chair not too far off and stare at them until they finally decided they had enough of her trying to burn holes into their souls. She hated doing that, but she really wanted to lay down on the couch, and being told to wait didn’t sit well with her. As they finally decided it was time to move on and give up the fight, Lily flopped onto the couch, making sure to stretch her small self out as much as possible to prevent anyone else from taking up space. Letting out a content sigh as her head sunk into the pillows, she didn’t want to deal with anything else for the rest of the day. It was nap time now.
Except for the fact that she suddenly heard her name yelled out from the direction of the common room entrance. She knew it was her brother standing out there, waiting for her to show her face. Groaning, Lily inched her face up to the arm of the couch so she could watch the next person that went in or out of the common room. After a few seconds, she spotted someone heading out and made sure to time the swing of the portrait, even though she couldn’t physically see it. “Make me!” She yelled back as she heard the portrait open up. The last thing she was going to do today was give up her precious couch.

“Make me!” he grinned and shook his head slightly as he saw the door starting to swing closed. he didn't think much before he found himself stepping forward and slipping into the gap that had been left between the portrait and the entrance. he didn't think he'd ever been inside this common room before, really he'd had no reason. apart from when he'd been dating andy and they hadn't really gotten to any part of their relationship that would amount to them going into the other common rooms. it was actually exactly how people described it. though he'd go one further and say it was as warm and inviting as his grandmother's living room back at the burrow. he grinned as he spotted his sister spread out along one of the couches, clearly the couch she didn't want to leave and he rolled his eyes slightly. he noticed a few strange looks from a few students that came downstairs and here he was, wearing hie tie with a black jumper so it wasn't as if he blended in. he gripped the ball in his hand and walked over to the couch, aiming and tossing the ball toward the side of lily's head, not hard though. "you really want me to make you get off the couch?" he said with a grin as he stood between the couch and the fireplace, his eyes on his sister.

@al Lily didn’t have time to bury her face back into the pillow underneath her by the time she saw Al walk in. Groaning again, she did her best to hide, but she knew he had already spotted her. Their exchange a few seconds earlier, of her telling him to force her to come out, was all too common at home. He obviously knew that she was on the couch and not going to move without some kind of fight. That would be a big mistake, considering he was now in her territory. Causing a ruckus, which she would be more than obliged to do so if it came to that, would only result in him getting in trouble, seeing as he was in the Gryffindor common room. It was one thing if they had planned to do something or go somewhere, but she just wanted to nap today. Get all her energy back to run around for the rest of the week.
Not bothering to look up at her brother, she felt something collide with the side of her head and bounce off it. “Ow.” She muttered into the pillow, still refusing to pull her face away from it. She could hear a few other Gryffindors muttering off to the side of the room as they passed by. It was like they had never seen her interact with her brother before or something. Well, maybe not. Sighing, Lily finally flipped her head onto its side so she could look up at him. She spotted a ball on the floor, most likely the object that had hit her in the head. “I’m trying to hang out with my boyfriend here, Mr. Pillow. So make me.” Lily stuck her tongue out at her brother again before tossing the pillow in her arms right at his face.

“I’m trying to hang out with my boyfriend here, Mr. Pillow. So make me.” he smirked a little and laughed a little. well they did look pretty comfortable together at least. he caught the pillow in his hands and raised a brow, looking past it at her and he turned it in his hands with a now. "well he looks nice. but does adrian know about the two of you?" he asked, joking as he walked toward the couch and he dropped the pillow on the floor and made to plonk himself down onto it and he leaned his back against the couch. "okay you win. i won't make you." he said with a dramatized sigh and he held his hand out to the ball, silently casting a spell to draw it back into his hand so he could toss it between both his hands. it felt a little weird to be sitting in the gryffindor common room. it was so vastly different to the slytherin dorms, which he supposed should't be all that surprising. he kept tossing the ball back and forth, tilting his head back to look at his little sister. "so how're things?" he came straight out and asked her. it had been a while since they'd caught up, well for more than a few seconds in the halls anyway so he wanted to make sure she was doing okay, with everything going on with her at the moment.

@al What was so funny about wanting to do nothing? Sure, she was normally bouncing around with endless energy, but being lazy and wanting to lay around on such a comfy couch wasn’t a sin. If anything, she had spent more time on this couch lately snogging Adrian than doing anything else. That was something she wouldn’t disclose to her brother. “Eh. Maybe. He can get jealous sometimes, you know?” Lily wasn’t really expecting an answer from Albus, since he most likely wouldn’t know, but who knew. Anything was possible with him. Like how he then said he wouldn’t make her get up. That was definitely something new. Usually he’d drag her out kicking and screaming if need be. This time he sighed. That was boring. She really wanted to kick and scream while holding onto the couch for dear life.
Lily tried to reach for the pillow again, since Albus had tossed it onto the ground after catching it, but he had to go and sit on it. She let out a low growl at him, flipping around to the other side of the couch to grab the other pillow. This one wasn’t as comfortable as the other. She wasn’t sure why, but it just wasn’t. Punching it a few times, she rolled over onto her stomach again and wedged her head into the pillow, just as she had been before Al disturbed her alone time. “Things are wonderful. Absolutely perfect. Was just wondering what I would do with my peace and quiet, and someone had to disturb it,” Lily sighed, equally as dramatic as her brother just had. “I have a few secrets I could tell you, but you have to share one first to hear,” she taunted, kicking her feet up and down a few times, getting them as close to her brother’s head at the other end of the couch as she could. One little slip up wouldn’t hurt too bad.

he couldn't help but laugh when he heard her growl at him, obviously upset at loosing the pillow she'd thrown at him. he decided against a dog joke in that moment, if they'd been anywhere else he would have teased her about it but since they were in the middle of the gryffindor common room with other people around he didn't think he should do anything that might warrant a visit from his sisters head of house. no need to give other people reasons to cause trouble. "shouldn't have thrown it at me lils, possession is nine tenths of the law." he said, making a point to shift and get comfortable while sitting on the pillow.
“Things are wonderful. Absolutely perfect. Was just wondering what I would do with my peace and quiet, and someone had to disturb it,” he rolled his eyes a little as he tilted his head back to look at her. "well that's a shame. some people just have no consideration of others, do they?" he joked as he folded his arms across his chest and stretched his legs out before him, crossing them at his ankles. "i'm devastated someone ruined your peace and quiet." to say he'd felt like spending time with his sister would be an understatement.
with everything that had happened, she was still the one person who could make him laugh more than anyone, she always had been. though since he'd had his fight with dusti, he'd felt like catching up with her even more. “I have a few secrets I could tell you, but you have to share one first to hear,” secrets? well that sounded interesting. "tell me a secret then i'll decide if it's worth one of mine." he said as he turned slightly toward the couch, resting his elbow on it and he didn't fail to notice that lily's feet were awfully close to his head. he reached out to poke at her ankle. "sneaky."

@al Lily didn’t even bother to look back at her brother as he claimed that the pillow was his now. She had no idea what he was talking about, possession of things and stuff, but it made her roll her eyes nonetheless. Al could probably tell she was doing that without even seeing her face. A comment like that warranted a solid eye roll or two. “The only important tenth of that is the one where it was mine first. So give it up,” she huffed into her new pillow. It wasn’t like she necessarily wanted the other one back, but getting her way in her common room was more important than anything else. She could always snag Cece to beat him up too. The Gryffindor Prefect didn’t hold back when doling out warnings and detentions. Lily knew all about that firsthand. She was quite proud of that knowledge.
“Clearly.” Clearly he was doing this on purpose now. “Don’t you have something better to do? Like make out with Dusti in a closet?” Lily didn’t know if that had actually happened, but surely there weren’t too many places in the castle that someone could get away with that. She would know. She knew of all the good spots. And that had happened long before there was anything going on with Adrian. A little sneaking around here and there after hours or while skipping classes always resulted in finding an old classroom door left unlocked and empty, or an abandoned hallway that hadn’t seen a student in decades. Of course there was always the room of requirement as well. That one was pretty important for various reasons as well.
Still not turning around to look at her brother, she smirked into the new pillow as he said he would share a secret if she went first. That was breaking the rules she had just set, but there was a pretty good way to get the other pillow back into her possession because of it. “That pillow you have? Well, I’ll let you imagine what’s happened on it. You sitting on it isn’t nearly the worst thing either.” That would probably be enough. Albus poked her ankle and she jerked her leg back towards her. He really wanted to push her boundaries, didn’t he? “Careful. Might slip.”

“Don’t you have something better to do? Like make out with Dusti in a closet?” he smirked and shrugged a little, rolling his shoulders a little. "what makes you think i haven't already done that today? and trust me .. we've done more than make out in a closet .." he threw in for good measure. obviously the rumour about him and dusti getting caught had spread around the castle and he had no problem with people knowing the truth. there was nothing wrong with it really, he and dusti were adults and consenting, so why shouldn't they be allowed to have their fun. they could have picked a better spot he knew that and the next time it happened he'd plan better and at least cast a spell to muffle the sound. that was after all how they'd been caught the last time.
“That pillow you have? Well, I’ll let you imagine what’s happened on it. You sitting on it isn’t nearly the worst thing either.” he let his head fall back and he laughed, the sound deep as he shook his head a little, taking a moment to be able to stop himself from laughing and he looked at his sister, raising an eyebrow slightly at her. "if i was bothered by sitting on something in here that had been defiled by a couple i wouldn't sit down. i can imagine it's like our common room, love stupid couples making out on any surface they can." he said as he squirmed on the cushion a little to get comfier. "you'll have to try harder than that lily." he said as he rested his arms on his knees and leaned his head back against the couch, his eyes moving to the fireplace in the room.

@al “That’s disgusting,” Lily stuck her tongue out, as if she had a bad taste on it. She kind of did. Those were the things that she really didn’t care to hear about. “You’re lucky that it was Professor Malfoy that found you. Some of the other ones would have zapped your pants away and made you do the walk of shame back to the dungeons.” What a sight that would have been. To be honest, Lily would pay to see that. Maybe even get someone to take a picture of it, just to have the blackmail material for the future. Never knew when that kind of stuff would come in handy. “I definitely would have done that to you,” Lily added, huffing slightly at it. He didn’t seemed fazed by the fact that she had threatened him with the dirty secrets of the pillow he was holding onto. Probably because everyone knew that they were charmed to prevent nasty germs and stuff from spreading. “Well, Gryffindor has a little more pride than Slytherin, so we don’t have that happening. Except on this couch.” Lies. She had seen someone making out on the table in front of them as well. Oh! And the desk over in the corner. One time, back in like, second year, there was also the couple she walked in on who managed to basically do something that she didn’t know was possible until witnessing it. Adrian would be too chicken to try that. She didn’t like to admit that she would be too, but that had been something else completely.
“Trying is too hard,” she groaned into the pillow. She had already exhausted all her whining for the day, and it seemed like Al was getting comfortable in the common room. “Why didn’t you want to be in Gryffindor?” she asked out of the blue. Like that was actually something he could ask for. Their dad always said it was, but she knew that there was always a reason for where it placed students. “You wouldn’t have to be stuck down in the cold dungeons all the time. It’s always warm and cozy up here,” Lily yawned. She wanted to sleep. That sounded nice right about now. A solid cat nap to regenerate all her energy. And then she could run off and do something crazy later. After dinner, of course. Letting out another yawn, she managed to swing her leg once more at her brother’s head, though it was a half-hearted kick this time. Drowsiness was taking over…

“That’s disgusting, You’re lucky that it was Professor Malfoy that found you. Some of the other ones would have zapped your pants away and made you do the walk of shame back to the dungeons.” he laughed a little and shrugged his shoulders. he didn't really care, it wasn't like there was a set rule against what they'd been doing, or if there was he'd never been told it before. they were teenagers, after all how much sense did it actually make to keep teenagers in an environment where their supervision was pretty limited, after all there wasn't many hours of the day they were watched, during classes and meals but there was hours in between that. “Well, Gryffindor has a little more pride than Slytherin, so we don’t have that happening. Except on this couch.” he scoffed a little and raised his brow, letting his head drop back against the couch she was sitting on and looked at her. "you know i don't believe that. i dated one of you remember? i know you aren't all innocent." he said with a slight smirk as he shifted his arm to rest behind his head.
“Why didn’t you want to be in Gryffindor?” well that was sudden. he didn't think she'd ever asked him that before. he didn't actually think he'd ever thought that he didn't want to be a gryffindor. he'd been worried about being a slytherin sure but after the sorting he'd come to terms with it pretty quickly. he took a moment, looking at the flames before he answered. "could you really imagine me in this house lils? one that's all warm and cozy?" he asked her, turning his head to look at her. "i bring the cold with me wherever i go." he rested his elbow on his knee as he drew it to his chest and he listened again. “You wouldn’t have to be stuck down in the cold dungeons all the time. It’s always warm and cozy up here,” he shook his head a little. the dungeon's weren't cold. their common room could be as warm as this one at times when the fires were roaring, after all the hufflepuff common room was in the dungeon and no one ever called it cold. "it's not cold down there, more places to be inconspicuous though, unlike in here it's all cramped and small." though he knew that it was charmed to expand the more people that were in it, right now it was just the two siblings so it didn't need to be large.

@al Albus dated a Gryffindor? Oh…right. That thing. She had forgotten about it. “You mean Andy?” Lily flipped her head over on her pillow so that she could kind of see her brother’s head again. “That doesn’t count as dating. It was like, not even two weeks.” She honestly didn’t know how long that had lasted. Whatever the length of that relationship was, it certainly didn’t leave much of an impact on her memory. But he did have a point. They weren’t all innocent. That wouldn’t be any fun if they were carbon copies of Hufflepuff. Nothing against Hufflepuffs, they were just happy and smiley all the time. They never did anything dangerous and thrill seeking, it seemed like. Lily snorted as Albus said that he brought the cold wherever he went. “Okay mister dark and gloomy. Keep telling yourself that. I think being stuck underground in the dungeons is starting to get to your head,” she nodded, trying not to laugh too hard at him. Why would anyone want to be cold all the time? Absolutely nothing beat being wrapped up in blankets like a burrito. Silly Albus.
“But yeah, I could see you in Gryffindor. There are a few moody Gryffindors.” She wasn’t naming names, but there were definitely a handful. Not her though! She would never be one of those people. Then he started going off about finding places to be inconspicuous and hidden, and Lily had enough of it. She was supposed to be taking a snooze, not listening to her brother subtly hint at his exploits with his girlfriend. That was way too much detail for her right now. “Enough with all that,” she groaned again, tossing the second pillow, the one that had been in her control the whole time, at his head. Standing up on the couch, she vaulted herself over the back of it and landed on her feet. “Since it’s cramped and too small for you, have fun explaining why you’re in here alone when a Prefect walks in,” Lily yelled as she bolted up the stairs to her dorm. Nap time was calling, and Albus was only disturbing it. She definitely knew he wouldn’t be able to disturb her once she was in the dorm room. That was totally off limits to dudes.
[LILY END]
