he really was lucky that he'd been allowed to attend a school that was adorned with so many large rocks. it had taken him the better part of his saturday to find this place but he was glad he had. he'd known about it for years but today he was here for a purpose. he was trying to get a great photo to give to grey, one to use for the next story about the tournament. then even if it didn't get used it would still be a good one to take. he was trying to get a photo that included the castle, the durmstang ship on the black lake and the carriage that the beaubaxtons students resided in. he had left his camera tucked away at the bottom of the rock pile he was currently climbing, figuring that it was safer to leave it there and then cast a spell to float it up to him once he'd seen the view and was safe on top. he was sure his father wouldn't be happy if he had to send him a letter asking for a new camera. not that he couldn't but it was a whole conversation he didn't really want to have. he reached above his head, grabbing onto the rock above him as he used his feet to scramble and push himself up onto the rock at the top of the pile. he took a breath and grinned, standing up on two feet as he looked at the view around him. it seemed perfect. right. now all there was to do was get the shot he needed and he could climb down and he on his way. he reached into his back pocket for his wand and his eyes widened when it wasn't there. "oh for .. stupid .." he said loudly to himself as he dropped his hands against his legs and crouched down, leaning slightly over the edge of the rock for a better view of below so he could see where his wand was. with a sudden thought he remembered he didn't need to find it. it was nice and safe on the ground sitting next to his camera. he'd put it down while setting his camera and things down. he laughed at himself. clever. he ran his hand through his hair as he figured out how to get it up there when he heard footsteps and then there was suddenly a blonde hair in view. "hey!" he called down, waving his hand to try and get their attention to. he was currently laying on his stomach, having stretched out his legs so he didn't accidentally fall off. though most of his chest was hanging over the rock, his hand waving out past his head. "any chance you could help me?" he called down, hoping he had their attention.

@alexandre She was minding her own business, as usual, trying to walk around the grounds on her own in an attempt to find new locations to take pictures. After a few years of doing this, Cordelia was afraid she was going to run out of subject matter by time her seventh year came around. After that, she would have the world, and then some, to take pictures. But she didn’t want Hogwarts to get dull, and right now it was starting to get that way. Experimental photography styles were already on the horizon for her, and that meant opening up a whole new world. Still, she needed original spots, and those were hard to come by.
Cordelia had spent the majority of the morning doing just that; looking for new things and locations to photograph. So far she hadn’t found anything too interesting, instead wandering around aimlessly snapping photographs every now and then. It was kind of cold, but not nearly as bad as it could have been, so that made being out for hours on end bearable. As she was passing by some rather boring looking rocks though, she spotted something interesting, in the sense that it had nothing to do with said boring rocks, and more the fact that there was a boy hanging off of them. While it initially didn’t register in her head that he was leaning over the rock to try and reach something on the ground, when he called in her direction, she took a few steps back to observe the situation. Why was he doing that? Wasn’t it easier to walk back down the rocks and get whatever it was that he needed?
“W-With what?” Cordelia called back as loud as she could, which really wasn’t all that loud. She took a few steps closer to the rock and spotted things on the ground below the boy. He must have been reaching for those. It was better to hear what he wanted to do though.

“W-With what?” he breathed out a breath when she stopped and took notice and asked what he wanted. he knew it did probably seem like it would just be easier for him to climb down to the items he was after, but the rocks were harder to climb than they looked. some of them had been taller than he was so he'd done some pretty crazy things to get up them, not that he minded. he lived for crazy things. he motioned with his finger down to the small pile that consisted of a grand total of two items. "can you throw my wand up?" he asked down to her, still internally kicking himself for leaving it down there when he'd put his camera down.
he just needed the wand, then he'd summon his camera up, get the shot and he'd be done. "i'm trying to get an awesome shot for the paper and like a genius .. i left everything down there." he said with a grin as he stretched a little further over the edge of the rocks. he wanted his picture to stand out when people looked at the paper, to make them take a second glance at what was in it in case they missed something the first time. that's what he wanted, to make people think about his photos and he was hoping that this shot would be the one that would do that.

@alexandre Throw his wand up? What kind of person managed to climb a rock while leaving their wand down at the ground? Cordelia was pretty sure she was still at Hogwarts, because that meant having wands on them at all times was a requirement. Studying magic required them, and tossing it around on the ground wasn’t exactly the best way to learn in her opinion. Still, she nodded her head in acknowledgement and walked over to where he was hanging over the rock. The objects she had spotted on the ground moments earlier became clearer now; a wand and a camera. The camera piqued her interest, but that wasn’t what the boy wanted. She kneeled down to pick up the wand, making sure to hold onto her own camera to prevent it from swinging around and hitting the rocks. Standing back up, Cordelia handed it over to the boy. It was starting to look like he was going to fall at any moment.
He then pointed out that he was up on the rocks to try and get a picture for the school paper. That made sense. She probably wouldn’t have gone to those lengths just to get a shot of the castle, but she also wasn’t in the same situation as he was. Under the same circumstances, maybe she would have. There was no reason for her to criticize another photographer’s motives. She knew what it felt like to get those. “D-Do you t-take photos often?” Cordelia asked, looking down at the boy’s camera again. It was a little different than hers, but she could tell that they were both in the same situation when it came to using ancient muggle technology. She believed that it made taking photographs more of an art, though she understood why some enjoyed digital. Being able to see the result immediately was rather gratifying.

he reached down when she passed his wand up to him and he smiled his thanks to her. he would have climbed down if she hadn't come along but she'd saved him from the possibility of a skinned knee or palm. going down was never as easy as climbing up. at least in his opinion anyway. he held the wand in his hand and pointed it down at his camera, flicking it and summoning it up through the air towards him. he shifted himself against the rock, making his balance a little better as he stretched out his other hand to grab the strap of the camera. "got it." he said as he tucked his wand into the back of his belt and he shifted onto his knee's carefully and set the camera down on the rock next to him.
“D-Do you t-take photos often?” he looked back down and nodded. he'd been taking photos for as long as he could remember. his mother had had an old muggle camera that he'd worn out taking photo's so one christmas, there had been a better camera waiting under the tree. "as much as i can." he didn't get as much time to do it now, he was on the quidditch team too so with classes and flying and other things, taking pictures often fell to the wayside, unless like now and it was needed. he shifted to lay back down on the rock and on a whim he reached his hand down to the blonde that had helped him. "thanks for the help." he said as he kept his hand reached down. "want to see the shot i'm trying to get?"

@alexandre Cordelia watched quietly as the boy took his wand from her, and then proceeded to call his camera up to him. That was probably what she would have done if she was in the same situation, or at least if she wasn’t confident in carrying the camera up with her. The rocks didn’t look too perilous from her spot on the ground, though she also hadn’t seen anyone climb them before, so anything was possible. The boy had taken a relatively safe precaution by leaving the camera on the ground. Though she was unsure if he was absent minded or simply forgot that he would need his wand to get the camera up to the top. She supposed anything was possible since she didn’t know him at all. The balancing act of levitating the camera had Cordelia holding her breath. Even though it wasn’t hers, watching a camera dangle ten feet off the ground always got to her. She had smashed hers numerous times by tripping or bumping into hard objects, and while magic was an easy fix for muggle technology, her clumsiness still affected her general feelings on keeping the camera as safe as possible. She couldn’t speak for the boy, but the fact that he was floating it up instead of risking its safety in the climb said enough.
The most important aspect of this encounter was the fact that Cordelia had never seen this boy before, especially when he stated that he tried to take pictures as often as possible. Obviously he wasn’t in the art club or she would have known of him already, so that only left…well, she didn’t know what other clubs had photography. If there was a photography club, then she wouldn’t have been in the art club. Simple as that. His voice snapped her out of her theory generating, and Cordelia nodded her head slowly as he asked if she wanted to see the shot he was focusing on. She was definitely interested in that, but also wanted to see what he was capable of with a camera, if only to boost her own ego about how great she was at it. She would never say that out loud though. “S-Sure.” Looping her arm through her camera strap, Cordelia flipped it around to her back. She had climbed enough things to know that it would be fine back there as she scaled the rocks. “R-Ready when y-y-you are…”

“S-Sure.” when she agreed to climb up the rocks to see what he was shooting, he flashed her a smile. he was glad she hadn't decided it was too much and just left. while she put her camera to rest against her back so it couldn't knock against anything, he cast a sticky charm on his feet, making sure that when he was helping her up the rocks he wouldn't slip down on top of her. "i'm eli by the way. figured i should probably introduce myself before you put your trust in me." he said with a light laugh. “R-Ready when y-y-you are…” he nodded and then he gripped onto her hands tightly but carefully and helped her up onto the rocks, making sure not to pull her up faster than she could put her feet on rocks.
once she was safely up onto the rocks with him he shifted onto his knee's, unsticking his feet with a wave of his wand and he flexed his toes inside his shoes, shaking off the feeling of them being bent and he stood up, stretching slightly and brushing his hands off on his jeans. "right. now for this picture." he said as he picked up his camera, walking to the other side of the rocks, the opposite side of where he'd just helped cordelia up. "what do you take pictures of the most?" he asked, curious about the other photographer. he didn't often meet other people in the school that had an interest in the art of snapping a moment in time.

@alexandre Eli was his name, having introduced himself as she reached up to grab his hand. He had a lot of energy for someone who had just been hanging off of a rock to try and grab a wand and a camera. It was almost like dealing with a puppy. Cordelia wasn’t exactly fond of puppies and their copious amounts of energy, opting to be a cat person instead, but it wasn’t like it annoyed her either. Some people were just like that. And some were like her, who preferred to keep to themselves and struggled socially. So far, it looked like she was the complete opposite of Eli – except that they both shared a similar hobby. Had that not been the case, they probably never would have interacted with each other past their initial encounter. She would have helped him and then wandered away to continue taking pictures on her own. “C-Cordelia…” she huffed as she grabbed onto his hand and pulled herself up the rocks. He had cast some kind of spell on his feet, and she soon realized that it was to prevent them from tumbling over once she put all of her weight onto him. That was…smart.
As she readjusted herself on top of the rock, Eli went to the other side of it with his own camera. That was right, he had something planned out already and had climbed it to check everything out. She was interested in seeing whatever he had in mind, considering she had never been at this vantage point before. Walking towards him, he asked what she took pictures of. Almost anything and everything. But she couldn’t say that, because it made it sound like way too casual of a thing to say. Of course she didn’t want to boast either, but being too frivolous with her response would make her seem unprofessional. “N-Nature,” she started. “F-Flowers, b-birds, st-starry skies f-from the Astronomy t-t-tower. Th-That s-stuff.” That was just to name a few though. There were plenty of random things she had photographed, as well as long term projects she had completed or happened to be currently working on.
