Anna shook her head when Lily asked if she regretted entering the Tournament. "No, I don't regret it. I just need to make sure I'm prepared for the last task ... and I'm also tired of studying," she explained, hoping she didn't offend her cousin. Some people seemed to think that Anna was taking the tournament too seriously and that she needed to just relax and trust her instincts, but she'd learned in the first task that being prepared was important. She laughed, even though Lily was climbing up her, as her cousin grumbled about the age-line. Anna wasn't surprised at all that Lily was semi-bitter about that. "I'm sure that you'll always have a spring in your step," Anna agreed. She really couldn't imagine Lily any other way. Without her fun, action-needing attitude, she wouldn't be the Lily that Anna knew and loved. She laughed at Lily's comment about being the fourth champion, mostly because it didn't happen. If it had, it would not have been a laughing matter. Though Anna was sure Lily could handle whatever was thrown at the champions, she was also glad she didn't have to worry about herself and her cousin. She groaned when Lily said that she "had this". Did that mean Lily was almost off of her? Or that she was ready to try it out now? Anna really didn't know what to expect, but what she wanted was for Lily to go through with her plan already. Then, the weight was gone. Anna took a step back and watched her cousin's efforts to get onto the branch. She gave a small, but enthusiastic cheer when Lily made it and then surveyed the tree skeptically. Now how was she supposed to do this? Lily called down to Anna, obviously thinking along the same lines. "I don't know how ..." Anna responded, thinking. Then Lily suggested levitation. Technically levitation didn't work on people, but it could work on their clothes. Anna knew that from an essay she had to do once. She watched Lily closely. "Alright, but if you drop me and I get hurt, I'm going to make you regret it," Anna warned, putting on a firm expression. She didn't really think it would affect Lily though. Lily did what she wanted to and didn't seem to regret it ever. lily luna potter

@annelise Still concentrating on balancing herself on the branch, Lily half-listened to her cousin say that she didn’t regret entering the tournament. “Yeah that preparing stuff sounds boooring,” she fake yawned. “As for studying,” Lily wobbled on the branch, “who needs that? Sure, we’re at school, but there are so many other great things to do here that classes have to take backseat if you want to do everything.” She didn’t really care about her studies. Showing up every now and again seemed to be enough for the professors, and as long as she turned in most of the work, there wasn’t a problem. That was the way it had been since first year, considering that sitting still for more than five minutes was difficult for her, even to this day. “Of course I will! I’ll live forever too. Just you watch,” Lily nodded her head energetically. Wizards tended to live a longer lifespan than muggles did, that much she knew. Being a werewolf now though, she wasn’t sure how much longer it would be extended, if at all. If the lycanthropy gave her a few extra years over everyone else, she’d gladly take it.
“Hey! No complaining. We’re already this far into it,” Lily reprimanded Anna as she groaned. “You’re a champ in the making, giving up isn’t what you do.” There was no need to worry at all. Lily knew she could levitate Anna up to the branch. It was a simple swish and flick, basic charms. Even she knew how to use stronger levitation charms. Anything that benefited her in her shenanigans was useful to learn. Same with becoming a werewolf. Whenever someone questioned her abilities as a witch, she made sure to lay it all out, and then they understood why she had such unique interests in certain kinds of spells. Like the sticky spell she had just used. Normally she wouldn’t need to know that, but she did for climbing things, and so she put the time aside to figure it out. “You’ll be fine Anna,” she chimed, waving her hand at her cousin, as if to brush it off. Taking her wand out, Lily aimed it down at Anna. “Okay. Stay nice and still so I can bring you up. Let me know when you’re ready.”

Anna nodded, even though Lily wasn't really looking at her. "Yeah, preparing can be pretty boring, but I have learned some pretty useful spells that I never would have looked twice at." That was one thing she liked about the tasks. Not that Anna was like Ravenclaw, wanting to learn everything, but some new spells were cool. She laughed at Lily's views about studying. "I know, but sometimes spelling is useful," Anna answered. She knew Lily likely wouldn't see it that way, but she did and that was just the way things were. She smiled again, "I'll be watching, Lils," Anna promised, teasing. In the very least, Lily would always be interesting and fun. That was a good reason to watch her, right? Anna laughed when Lily told her not to complain. "I'm not complaining and I'm not giving up," she said firmly. Obviously giving up wasn't ok her blood. Anna was more competitive than she cared to admit. She narrowed her eyes at her cousin, "Alright, lift me up already before I change my mind and leave you all alone up there." Anna froze, not wanting to mess up Lily's focus. That would nit be fun. lily luna potter

@annelise That sounded enticing. Except for the reading and studying part of it. Learning new spells was fun, and useful ones were even better when they were in her hands. “Fine, fine. You win on that one. I’ll give you the neat spells,” Lily conceded. Anna did have a point. “But the rest of that stuff can be kept with the stuffy birds and snakes. Real adventure only happens with a Gryffindor.” Lily fist pumped into the air as she yelled. Seriously though, what Ravenclaw or Slytherin ever had any fun? Al was a pretty good indication that the dungeon dwellers were a dull deposit of dimwits. Except for the few smart cookies. They had a couple of them. “Good! Because it’ll happen.” She didn’t know why she was repeating the same thing about living forever over and over again, but reinforcing it that many times could only help her chances of living longer. Bad karma wasn’t a thing that existed in her world. Happy accidents did though.
Anna said she was ready, and Lily closed her eyes, visualizing the spell one last time. It was easy. All she had to do was cast it and then lift Anna up. Swishing her wand to the motion and giving the incantation, she could feel the automatic pull. Gravity wasn’t going to be too friendly apparently. “Beaming up!” She yelled, as she stood up on the branch to get a little more height to her wand raising. Keeping Anna steady was tough, but the even, fluid raising motion of her arm was doing quick work of it. “Let me know when you have a good hold on the tree, and I’ll let the spell go,” Lily stated as Anna neared the branch. Hopefully it could hold both of them. She supposed they would find out once Anna put all of her weight on it too.

Anna smirked at Lily when she said that neat spells was the alright part of studying. She knew that probably wouldn't convince her cousin to start studying more, but she was definitely going to take that as a win. Getting Lily to accept that someone else's point of view was an achievement as far as Anna was concerned. Then she laughed and rolled her eyes when Lily added her comment afterwards about other things being left for Ravenclaws and Slytherins. "I am a Gryffindor Lily. Or did you forget?" she teased. Even Lily wouldn't forget that they'd been in the same house for years. Waiting for Lily to perform the spell and start levitating her was agonizing. Why was it taking the girl so long? Really, Anna was interested to see how it felt to be weightless in the air, but she didn't want to wait ages for it. "Come on, Lily," she whined, recognizing her impatience. Lily couldn't complain about that. She was one of the most impatient ones out of them all. She laughed when her cousin said she was beaming her up. Typical Lily. As soon as she felt herself being lifted into the air, Anna looked up towards the tree branch. She started to reach for it as soon as she got close enough to do so. "Will do," she called to Lily when she explained how she was planning on doing this. After just a few moments, Anna was touching the tree branch. She waited until her grip was firm and then called out, "Okay Lils. You can let me go now." Anna started instantly swinging back and forth and then looped get leg around the branch and pulled herself up. Apparently all the physical preparation for the tournament was paying off. She sat on the branch and grinned at her cousin. "How was that?"lily luna potter

@annelise “Wait? You’re in Gryffindor?” she feigned surprise, all the while trying to suppress a laugh. “How come no one ever told little old me?” Psssh. Like she could forget that Anna was a Gryffindor. As far as Lily was concerned, Anna was the greatest of all the current lions. She was the Hogwarts champion after all. In a way, that also meant she was the most capable out of any of the students. That little cup knew its stuff. Of course, if she had been old enough, there wouldn’t have been any competition at all. Obviously Lily would have been the one chosen at that point. The only option for the cup would to have Lily follow in her father’s footsteps. It only made sense. Poor Anna. Also, Albus didn’t deserve that luxury either. She was clearly the better of them. He was too lazy. Just thinking about him trying to run through the first task maze made her giggle. He’d get tired immediately.
The levitation was flawless, and that wasn’t Lily giving herself a pat on the back. It was pretty darn good looking from her position on the branch. Anna acknowledge that she would grab on when she was close, and when she said she was set, Lily removed the spell. She kept her wand out though, in case the branch snapped with the additional weight on it. Being able to stop one of their falls would be possible if worse came to worst. Lily watched intently as Anna swung herself on the branch before flipping her body up. Clapping, she gave her cousin a thumbs up. “Excellent. Form was perfect. I’d say that’s an easy ten out of ten.”

Anna rolled her eyes, but laughed all the same at Lily's joke. "You needed someone to tell you? Man, Lily, I thought you'd figure it out after seeing me in your common room every day all this time," she said, teasing Lily obviously. That was what they did as cousins, and this was just some fun. It wasn't like either of them was serious with what they were doing or saying. They were just playing around to make the time go faster. Anna loved it and she was pretty sure that Lily did too. If she didn't she would have gone somewhere else. Really, this whole thing was going a lot smoother than Anna thought it would. At least, her attempt to climb the tree was smooth. Lily's first attempt hadn't been smooth at all, but they'd moved past that and Anna was excited to see where they were going to go with this. Once she was sitting by Lily, she laughed at her cousin's judgment. "Well I'm glad you'd give me such high scores," she teased. Then she looked around. It was a pretty nice view, but they weren't very high up in the tree. She glanced back to Lily again, "Do you want us to go higher?" She asked, not bothering to hide the anticipation in her voice. Lily would like that for sure. She loved it when other people got excited about things. lily luna potter

@annelise Lily laughed as the joke continued. How sad would that actually be? Not having Anna around all the time would be depressing. While she got along with all of her cousins, the ones that were in Gryffindor were the closest to her. Maybe even closer than Al was. Hard to tell sometimes though. She couldn’t recall the last time one of them told her off for doing something crazy or stupid, so there was that. Family was family in the end. “I thought you were coming to visit me! It’s hard being Queen of Gryffindor you know? All those people always walking in an out of my castle tower at all hours,” she grinned. “And those huge dinner parties every night too! Wish they would let me sit at the head of the table once in a while though. Show them who the boss around here really is.” What a sight that would be. She would never be trusted in her life to run Hogwarts. There probably wouldn’t even be a school left after she was done with it.
“Ha!” Lily half-exclaimed, half-scoffed, as Anna thanked her for the high marks. “The best of the best deserve the bestest of scores, dear cousin. If this was a tournament task, you’d be reeling in the big girl points right now. Steal of them away from the whiny French boy.” Lily laughed again. She had nothing against the other champions, but there was no way she would ever cheer for either of them. In her mind, Anna had killed it during the first task, and her close second place finish was just as good as a first place finish.
At the prospect of going up higher in the tree, Lily nodded her head aggressively. From what she could tell, getting to the branch they were currently on was the hardest part of the climb so far. Nearing the top the branches could thin out a bit, but the rest of the way would be simple. “Hmmm…I like the way you think. To the top we go then!” Standing up on the branch with support from the tree trunk, Lily raised her arms to the next branch and started to pull herself up. “Careful of the bark falling. I got it in my eye once, and let me tell you…”

Of course, jokes like this were common when one chose to spend their time with Lily, but Anna was always somewhat amazed at how good her cousin was at keeping things going. Lots of people would have dropped this particularly joke by now, but Anna and Lily were still having fun talking and teasing one another, so the joke continued. "Well just because I'm part of Gryffindor doesn't mean I don't come to see you Lily," Anna reasoned. "I mean, what sort of a cousin would I be if I didn't take time to visit my Queen cousin?" She laughed again when Lily started talking about their meals in the Great Hall as feasts. "I know. It's a shame that you're forced to sit with the common folk." She winked, "but good for us!" At least, good for Anna. She liked spending meals with her cousin when the opportunity arose. One was never bored if they were with Lily Potter. Anna continued to laugh as Lily started talking about points, and if this was a tournament task she would have gotten all the points and been able to steal them from the Beauxbaton's champion. "If that was the way the tournament worked, it would be a lot easier," Anna responded wistfully. Climbing a tree. She wondered what the third task actually was going to be. Lily loved the idea of going further up the tree, as Anna expected she would. Lily was not always predictable, but when it came to trees she absolutely was. Lily always wanted to be at the top, or as close to it as she could get. She nodded when Lily announced that they were climbing up and Anna started to make the trek up. At least it wasn't as hard as getting to the first branch had been. She laughed again when Lily mentioned getting bark in her eye once. "Only you, Lily," Anna called back to her. "Don't worry though, I'll be careful." And she would. Anna had no intention of getting bark in her eyes. That would hurt. lily luna potter

@annelise Lily made sure to let out the loudest, posh laugh that she was capable of producing as Anna called her the Queen. That was exactly the kind of thing that she had wanted to hear from her cousin. Confirmation throughout her jokes only fueled them to continue. Anna usually let her go on and on, which was awesome. Better than Al at least. He was boring all the time. No sense of humor. Lately it looked like he was trying to make an attempt at not being a dried up prune, but a lot of work still needed to go into that. She giggled at the idea of sitting with the ‘common folk’. “Careful who you say that around,” Lily warned. “There are real royals at Hogwarts. Not just me. I’m self-appointed Queen of the castle. That’s why I get to sit and look pretty in the Gryffindor tower.” She nodded her head affirming the statement. Being at the top wasn’t as difficult as some made it out to be. She liked it up there. “One day I’ll get that head seat. Just you watch.”
Only her. She would be the only one to know what bark in the eye was like, because she was also the only one that liked to force people to climb trees on a normal basis. “Good!” She yelled back down at Anna as her cousin said that she would be careful. This was a big tree. Much larger than the ones that were typically perfect for climbing. Their numerous attempts to get to the first branch said a lot about the climb. This was the kind of challenge that she had been looking forward to for years. Deciding to concentrate on her movements over talking, Lily kept her mouth shut for the next few minutes as she went up. There would be plenty to talk about once they were at the top. Which was starting to look pretty soon here.

Lily was too happy being told that she was the Queen. Anna assumed she just liked having someone that was willing to agree and go along with whatever jokes she made. Anna was almost always willing to play along, mostly because it was pretty entertaining. She listened to her cousin giggle and then grinned as Lily told her to be careful. She opened her eyes wide, "Whaaaat? You mean there are more royals here than just you?" she responded sarcastically, laughing as Lily continued on and on. Then she lifted an eyebrow at her cousin, "You're only Queen of the castle? I thought you would claim more land than that for sure." She laughed when Lily continued, nodding her head slowly. "Oh, I'll definitely be watching. Just don't forget all us little people when you make it up there," Anna teased. Anna wasn't sure why Lily was telling her to be careful. That was definitely not one of her cousin's priorities, being careful. She was the wild one, the do-whatever-she-wanted one. Then again, maybe Lily didn't want to deal with her cousin falling and getting injured in the middle of their climb. She'd probably have to stop then, in order to help Anna. Which she probably wouldn't like. Still, that was all pointless for Anna to think about since she was being careful and had no intention of getting herself hurt, for any reason. Following her cousin's example, Anna focused on climbing. It wasn't too long until they were getting close to the top and Anna took a bit of a break. "You planning on going much further up, Lily?" Anna asked curiously, looking up at her cousin. lily luna potter

@annelise “I take that back. I’m the only one that really matters,” Lily quickly back peddled. If Ed heard her saying that she acknowledged him as a superior over her…well that wasn’t allowed in her little world right now. “The castle and Hogsmeade. Aunt Hermione gets London and everything else since she’s Minister now.” Trying to lay claim over that territory would be difficult. Easy solution: become Minister one day. Vic had done it, so she could too. It was getting everyone to take her seriously first that would be the most difficult part. That and everyone having faith in a werewolf. Lily wasn’t too worried about it though. Becoming Minister would mean she could turn an entire floor into a ball pit with slides if she really wanted to. Teach everyone to loosen up a little. Being crammed into stuffy, miniscule rooms caused way too many problems. “Since you’re basically the Triwizard Champion already, you can be my right-hand lady. I can even knight you. Make it super official. Everyone else would just have to get used to it.”
Lily didn’t pause until she heard Anna ask her if she was continuing on going higher. That was a darn good question. Glancing above her, she realized that there was probably only another twenty feet or so. In the grand scheme of things, that wasn’t much compared to what they had already managed. The problem with continuing though was similar to the one they had when trying to get into the tree; the few places to grab would be weak limbs. They probably wouldn’t be able to hold both of them at the same time. “Nope!” she yelled back down to Anna. Shimmying around the tree so that she could get a halfway decent view of the castle, Lily leaned back against the tree, balancing herself on one of the larger branches. “I’m just going to take this in for a few minutes and then go back down…” This was exactly what she had wanted to see when she thought of climbing the tree! It was perfect.

Anna grinned when her cousin corrected herself. That sounded more like Lily, claiming that she was the only one who mattered. She chuckled a bit, nodding when Lily started explaining what she was Queen of. "I suppose that sounds reasonable enough," Anna teased her. At least, it was one that Lily could probably claim without getting too much pushback, though Anna didn't think Lily was telling everyone that she thought she was Queen. It was more a joke, or at least that was how it seemed to Anna. She laughed when Lily said she could knight Anna since she was basically the Triwizard Champion. "How can I turn down an offer like that?" she asked. "And I don't think anyone would dare defy you." At least, not openly. Mostly people didn't want to deal with an annoyed Lily Potter. When Lily said that she wasn't going to go up more, Anna smiled in relief. At least they would be able to relax a little bit now. She would have followed Lily, but now she didn't have to. She took a deep breath when Lily said she wanted to take some time to enjoy the view before descending. "Good plan. It's an amazing view Lily," Anna agreed, looking out as well. It was at least five minutes before either moved again. The climb down was significantly less stressful than climbing up had been, and Anna was glad she'd taken a break to spend a bit of time with her cousin. --- the end --- lily luna potter
