She was outside. Dom needed to be outside, in the fresh air. She spent almost all her time outside lately. Inside it was hard for her to breathe, but when she was outside she could let the cool air help her calm down when she thought too hard. Also ... outside was the only place where she could really be on her own. At least, it was at this time of day. Right now, everyone was busy eating lunch. Dom stopped at the kitchens and grabbed some food, then ate it on her way outside. Sitting on her bench, Dom stared out across the pond, her mind blank. Finally, she wasn't thinking of anything. She was relaxed, at ease and it felt better than she could have imagined. She was so distracted, she didn't notice anyone approaching.

Andy also had a rather large attachment to the outdoors, especially lately. She hadn't always been the type, but the fresh air was one of the few things that revitalized her, reminding her that she was alive and that she was okay. So, she often found herself wandering and looking for a place to settle for the afternoon.
Today she made her way to the pond, and she soon stumbled on Dominique Weasley. now, her and Dom were not even remotely friends but... she was close to Lily, who Andy sort of knew, and she was Albus's cousin... she probably wasn't half bad.
She took a deep breath and crossed over toward the redhead and sat down on the same bench, but not too close. "Enjoying the sun?" she asked softly, eyes straight ahead on the pond. Maybe she didn't even say it loud enough for Dom to hear...

Dom jumped slightly when she heard someone nearby. Not enough that they could notice. It came from years and years of living with her family. She was used to hiding her surprise when someone approached her unexpectedly. She turned, a little quicker than she meant to. It was ... Lestrange ... Andy? Dom was pretty sure that was the girl's name. She'd heard about her from Lily and Anna, but they had never become close with one another. The girl was rather quiet, but that was fine. Dom could do with quiet right now.
She nodded, "Yes, I am. And the quiet." Dom paused for a moment. "What brings you out here during lunch?" She turned to look at the girl beside her, really noticing her for the first time. Rather, paying attention to her for the first time.

Dom turned toward her fairly quickly but Andy stayed put, waiting for the girl to speak. Andy nodded too when Dom said she was also enjoying the quiet. Andy was a big fan of that. Then Dom asked what brought her out there and Andy shrugged, "the quiet, mostly. The sun, the air," the sun was like a heat lamp seeping into her bones, which was something that she desperately needed. It warmed her from the outside in, and then she used her meditation lessons to warm from the inside out, and it was a good combination.
"And how was your food?" Andy added. She hadn't actually noticed it was lunch time, so she would have to go down to get something later. It was hard for her to eat, in all honesty. She was skinnier and more skeletal looking than ever right now, and it was because the ability to eat had simply escaped her. She didn't really do it unless reminded, or unless someone (usually Phil) put food right in front of her face. It wasn't on purpose, she had just sort of lost the ability to notice when she should be eating.

Andy seemed so calm. Maybe she was always like that, but Dom wondered if everything was alright with her. Still, she hardly knew the girl. If she wanted to pry, she'd have to at least get to know her a little first. She nodded and smiled when the girl agreed about the quiet, also bringing up the sun and air. "Exactly. It's just so calming being outside. Soon spring will be here and there will be the sound of the breeze rustling the leaves on the trees and animals moving around too. Still, the quiet is good for now." Dom closed her eyes for a moment, appreciating it.
Andy asked about her food and Dom looked down at the bag sitting by her feet. It was what the house elves packed at her request. "It was good. I decided to eat out here so I could enjoy the nice weather. Have you eaten?" Dom doubted the answer to that question would be yes. Lunch just barely started and this girl didn't look like she ate a lot. Whether it was intentional or not, Dom had no idea.

Andy was glad the Weasley girl understood. Andy had never been a big fan of spring, but she was sure that she would love it now. Spring was all about new beginnings. And new beginnings were the best thing in Andy's existence right now. As Dom explained the Spring and what was coming, Andy sighed happily and leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. Andy wasn't normally one to break posture, but she had learned to relax more now, to find peace in all places and things. "It will be magical, I think," she agreed.
"I think the Great Hall ceiling showing the sky is great and all, but nothing compares to the real thing. I wish the ceiling would just... open," she suggested. Then she shook her head, "no but I'm sure Phil, my boyfriend, will bring me something. He usually does if I don't turn up," she explained. Phil was always trying to care for her as much as possible, even if she didn't ask for it.

The girl seemed content as she listened to Dom talk about spring, which was nice. Dom definitely would have been annoyed if someone laughed at her descriptions, but she hadn't expected Andy to do that. She was pleasantly right. She nodded as the girl leaned forward. "I think you are absolutely right," Dom agreed. "Spring is magical." And it was healing her from her winter melancholy. That was a very good thing.
Dom smiled at Andy's suggestion. "That would be something. Even when it rained, I would still be down for the ceiling opening." She said she hadn't eaten yet and Dom reached into her bag. "I have an apple you can eat while you're waiting for Phil," she said. Really, Dom already ate everything she wanted to, so this was no big deal. She offered the apple to the girl, hoping she'd take it mostly just because she wanted to be nice. "So what are you most looking forward to this spring?" Dom asked curiously. She might as well get to know the girl while she could.

Andy nodded in agreement and grinned at the redhead. She was seemingly more calm then Andy had noticed from a distance. Maybe it was just the Spring hair and the relaxed atmosphere.
Andy grinned a little wider when Dom mentioned rain, and then shook her head as Dom offered an apple. "Very sweet, but no thank you. I'm alright for now," she said politely. "And I love the rain," she added. She used to avoid it, knowing her mother wouldn't approve of the moisture messing up her hair or approve of Andy being out in the wet and cold, even though Andy was sure she would love it. She had been out in the rain plenty of times by now, though, and had some lovely experiences from it. Especially that time her and Phil hid in the greenhouses during a storm.
At Dom's next question, Andy shrugged, "mostly the weather, and graduation," she answered honestly. "A little nervous about the real world AFTER graduation, though," she admitted.

Dom shrugged when Andy refused the apple. That was fine, she only offered because the girl hadn't eaten yet, but she remembered times over the last few months when she hadn't felt like eating. All the time, actually. She was just glad that she'd gotten past it now and hoped that Andy wasn't in a similar situation to what she'd been in. Dom grinned, "Rain is wonderful. It's like a new beginning all on its own." She laughed a little, "And it's just plain fun to mess around in the rain." She knew not everyone agreed with her, but it seemed like Andy might.
Dom nodded when she talked about the weather and graduation. Both were things that Dom was excited about as well. She could sort of understand why the girl was nervous about after graduation, but not completely. Dom was too impulsive and ready to get out into the world to be really nervous about it. "Why are you nervous about things after graduation?" She asked curiously.

Andy felt a little rock in her throat, that seemed to be happening a lot lately, when Dom said that rain was like a new beginning. She nodded, unable to answer for a second. Then Dom said it was just plain fun to mess around in the rain and Andy smiled. "I haven't done enough of that, sadly. Maybe in the next rainstorm you can teach me," woah, woah, was she actually suggesting to hang out with Dominique Weasley? She barely knew the girl! Yet... she was related to Anna and Lily. Not that relations where everything, she knew that better than anyone, but she had only heard good about Dom. Maybe they could be friends.
Dom asked her why she was nervous about the real world then. "Oh, I think because I've just never... been on my own that much before," she was kind of a loner growing up, sure, but she always had someone nearby. And at school she had kept to herself a lot but her friends and weasled their ways into her heart and she never really did well at handling things on her own without them. But, now, she had a family that actually cared for her and showed it, so maybe she wouldn't be alone after all. "And I'm still... I want to get into the Healer Training Program, which I'm not sure if I'm good enough." Why was she opening up to this girl? Either way, she was easy to talk to.

Dom’s mouth fell open when the Gryffindor girl said she’d never danced in the rain before. “Whaaaaat? You’ve never …” She trailed off in astonishment, her eyes wide and a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth as she looked at Andy more. “I am definitely going to have to teach you! I mean, you can do all sorts of things in the rain,” Dom gave a laugh. “I can never resist a good rainstorm.”
She listened to Andy’s explanation of why she was nervous to graduate and nodded in understanding. “But … you do know that graduating don’t necessarily mean you’re on your own, right? I mean, even if you choose to move to an apartment on your own, you still have family and friends that care about you and would be there in a moment if you ever needed them, or just wanted them.” Even Dom, though she hardly knew the girl, would always be willing to help her out. Then Andy said she didn’t think she was good enough for the job she wanted and Dom frowned. “I think you can do whatever you want to. Some things take more work and are harder to accomplish, but you can achieve whatever you put your mind to.” She paused a moment. “Why do you think you’re not good enough?” Hopefully Andy wouldn’t mind her asking that question. Dom didn’t want to upset her new friend.

Dom was more surprised at Andy's claim then she really thought necessary, but that was alright. Dom said she would teach her, and Andy raised an eyebrow. "What... What sort of things?" she asked. Well, you could really do about ninety percent of the same things out of rain as in the rain, but she was curious what Dom preferred. Or rather, what made Andy's absence to it all such a shock.
Dom was oddly reassuring to Andy, saying that she really wouldn't ever be on her own. Andy nodded slowly, "with a big family like yours... I'm sure it's a lot of support," she guessed. Andy had a small family but a powerful one. And, most of all, she had Phil and Natalia. They would never let her feel that she was on her own. Dom also went on to address the other issue, stating that Andy could do whatever she set her mind to. Well, it seemed Dom truly believed that. About everyone, probably. When she asked Andy why she wasn't sure, Andy shook her head. "Can't put my finger on it. I'll figure it out," she said softly. She really didn't know the exact reason why picturing success was so hard for her. "What's your plan?" she asked.

Dom shrugged when Andy asked what sorts of things she liked to do in the rain. "Dance in it," she said without hesitation. "Running around is fun too, and jumping in the puddles," she thought for a moment. "I don't really know. I like doing almost everything I do when it's not raining, I just love the smell of it and for some reason rain just makes me feel more alive. I love it." Which was a good thing, since she was planning on showing Andy how to have fun in the rain sometime now.
Dom nodded when Andy said she had a lot of support with her family. "It is a lot of support. But sometimes, even more than my family, my friends are my support." Which didn't really make sense, since she had so much family everywhere, but sometimes family knew you too well. Then they started assuming things, which made it harder to feel supported by them. At least, that's what Dom thought. She nodded when Ady said she'd figure out why she didn't have a lot of self confidence. She had no intention of pushing the girl. Then she took a deep breath, "My plan for after graduation?" she asked, not quite sure if that was what Andy was asking, but ready to answer that all the same. "No idea. I mean, I'm looking at certain options, but nothing is really sticking out to me," she confessed with a shrug. "Do you have specific plans to help get you into the Healer Program?"

Dancing in the rain, of course. She had heard of that plenty of times. Running, jumping... in puddles. Interesting. Andy had done a little here and there, but not to the extent that Dom did, she was sure. "I agree, the smell is great," she said. "Phil and I got caught in a rainstorm once. We ended up hiding out in the greenhouses," she chuckled.
Dom said that sometimes her friends were even more support than her family sometimes. Andy understood that, she had more friends than family. Always had, really, even when she only had two friends. "Yes... I have some of those, too. Friends, I mean," she mentioned in a mumble. Then Dom said she had no idea after graduation. That nothing was sticking out to her. She then asked Andy about the healing program again. "Yeah, my sister can probably help me prepare. She's in the program," Andy explained.

Andy didn’t say anything about the suggestions Dom gave, but really what was there to be said? Dom only mentioned some of the things she liked to do in the rain. There were more. “Ooooh,” she said with a smile when Andy mentioned going to the greenhouses with Phil. “That sounds like fun.” She was teasing, but then her thoughts flew to another boy who liked greenhouses. Séamus. “I like the greenhouses,” she commented, hoping she hadn’t made Andy feel uncomfortable.
Andy agreed that friends could be a help. At least, Dom assumed she agreed, since she mentioned that she had some friends. “Well good. I’m sure they’ll do what they can to help you,” she added supportively. She was pretty sure Andy was close friends with Lily and Anna, and those two were definitely supportive. Andy should have a pretty good base. She smiled when Andy mentioned her sister. “Well that’s nice! Do you want to go into healing because of her?” she asked curiously. Personally, Dom had no intention in following her sister’s footsteps, but that was because she didn’t want to be the Minister of Magic. Ugh, too much responsibility.
