It was day two of the carnival and Kinsey finally convinced herself to come. Large gatherings of people weren't really her thing- she often got overwhelmed by all the differing intentions, but hopefully everyone here would just want to enjoy the fun and the good atmosphere. That's what she hoped for anyway. If not, she was definitely going to have to duck out early. That would be no fun though, so she intended to stay as long as humanly possible.
As she walked around, Kinsey tried to keep herself from jostling into people. It was a lot easier to be around them if she didn't know exactly what they were meaning to do. However, that was hard as she found herself staring at the different booths and activities. It did look fun, she jut didn't know what she wanted to do. She ran into someone particularly hard and shook her head. "Sorry," she said with a cheerful smile. At least the girl had a happy aura around her. No negative intentions there that Kins could sense.

Day twoooo! Adonia was all decked out in face paint today, seeing as the face painting booth was the first place she went! Half of her face was leopard print while the other half was basically a fairy princess. Lots of glitter! It made no sense but she didn't really mind that. She just wanted to have fun and look awesome doing it. Adonia wasn't really looking where she was going either when someone ran into her and she turned toward them as they apologize. Wow. This girl was quite beautiful! Inviting eyes, beautiful dark hair... oh yes, Adonia had found a new friend.
Her smile was incredibly genuine, which caused Adonia to smile back widely. "Not a problem! Where were you headed?" she asked. She could join her! Or maybe show her around, since she didn't see the girl yesterday... Granted, she had been a little busy with that ministry whatever guy. He was quite a delectable specimen, she thought, and was hoping she could see that guy again... but this adorable thing was good for now!

The girl was very nice. Or maybe it was the fact that they were at a carnival. Most people were in too good of a mood in places like this to let a little bump upset them. The girl asked where she was headed and Kinsey shrugged. "I'm not really sure. I couldn't come down here yesterday so I'm just ... wandering," she answered, looking around once more. "Do you have any suggestions for somewhere fun?" This girl looked like she would, with her wide smile and enthusiastic attitude. Kinsey looked at her closely. She didn't quite recognize the girl, but she also seemed familiar. She couldn't be from Hogwarts though, could she? No, Kinsey would recognize her if she were. "Are you a student?" Kins asked curiously. Why not? If the girl didn't want to tell her or talk about that then she'd either change the subject or leave. She doubted that would happen though.

The girl said she wasn't sure and that she had skipped out yesterday... or rather COULDN'T come... which intrigued Adonia. "Wandering is a great thing to do," Doni nodded approvingly, "it usually leads to great things. And yes!" she grinned widely and bounced on her toes, "there is this fabulous dementor pinata I've been meaning to smack around. Care to join?" she said happily, started to walk whether the girl followed or not. She turned to walk backwards to talk to her, "Durmstrang, love! Adonia is the name," she said, holding out her hand for a shake whilst still walking backwards. "And who are you?" Adonia asked cheerily. The girls hair was stunning, and Adonia wanted nothing more than to reach out and touch it, but she didn't want to scare off her new friend! Yet.

The girl seemed to approve of Kinsey wandering around, saying that it led to good things. Kinsey wasn't particularly sure why she was so excited. Maybe she just loved carnivals and things like them. She smiled when the girl said she did have something for them to do. Kinsey lifted an eyebrow, "A dementor pinata?" She asked a little hesitantly. She knew it wasn't a real dementor, but who would come up with something like that. "Sure," she said, following the enthusiastic girl, who introduced herself from Adonia from Durmstrang. Kinsey hesitated only a moment before taking the girl's hand. The only intention Kinsey sensed was a strong desire to have fun. That was a relief. "I'm Kinsey," she answered back. "How have you liked it here at Hogwarts?" she asked curiously. She didn't really get the chance to talk to many of the foreign students.

Adonia bit her lip and giggled as Kinsey questioned the pinata. "It's a good way to take your anger out on your fears, hypothetically smack them aside," Adonia suggested. Kinsey agreed to join her, giving her name as well. Adonia grinned when she took her hand and started to pull her along. The girl seemed... hesitant and careful in general. Adonia loved those people, they often just followed her lead because they didn't know what to say! "Oh, Hogwarts is lovely," Adonia gushed. "Maybe a bit hoity toity british some times, no offense, but it is quite a beautiful castle! And warmer than Bulgaria!" which was a funny thought, since England was famous for being cold and rainy. "But you're little house system is quite fun. Which one are you?"

Adonia's explanation for the pinata was funny in an ironic sort of way to Kinsey, though she couldn't really explain why. She laughed at the girl's explanation, starting when Adonia grabbed her hand and pulled her in the right direction. She still didn't sense anything malicious, which was definitely good since she didn't know if she could pull out of the girl's grip, even if she was trying to. She smiled as the girl expressed her thoughts on Hogwarts. it was beautiful here. Kinsey really did love it. Then she was asking about the house system, at least, which house Kinsey was from. "Oh, I'm a Ravenclaw," she paused, not knowing if Adonia knew about the differences between the houses or not. She decided to wait. If she had any questions, Kinsey would answer them. If not ... she was sure they'd end up talking about something else.

"Oh! The smart one," Adonia commented. She was glad she could get the girl to laugh at the pinata idea. It was a lovely laugh, really. "So, do YOU enjoy Hogwarts, Miss Kinsey?" Adonia asked in her usual sweet tone. She stopped walking as fast and just hung at Kinseys side, moving the girls arm to link through hers, so that Adonia was the traditional 'male arm' of the arm linking scenario. Her other hand reached across to place on Kinseys hand in a sort of comforting gesture. "I mean, you do look like someone who has the brains to see what's lovely about the world... and what isn't," she guessed.

Kinsey smiled and nodded when Adonia said she was in the smart one. She knew it didn't necessarily mean she was smarter than anyone else, but that was what Ravenclaw was known for. She nodded at the next question. "Of course. Hogwarts is ... like home. My parents are muggles, but all my siblings and I are witches and wizards, so coming here has been so amazing." Huh. maybe she shouldn't mention being a muggleborn with all the tension right now, but she couldn't help it. Then Adonia linked their arms together and Kinsey smiled nervously, though she hoped the nervous part wasn't obvious. She was sooooo not used to this much physical contact. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, since Adonia wasn't intending to do anything mean or malicious, she just wasn't used to it. Then she touched her hand and Kins shrugged a little. "It's not really hard to see what is and isn't lovely about the world today," she answered semi-bluntly. The ugly in the world was coming out much too obviously lately, and made things hard, but Kinsey tried to focus on the good.

So, the girl's parents are non-magical. That was an interesting topic, one that she did not want to get on at the moment. She said that her siblings were all magical though, now that had some promise in it. "How many siblings do you have?" Adonia asked, her smile still in place. She always found sibling relationships would be interesting, especially since she didn't have a sibling herself. Or at least she didn't have any that she knew of. She had grown up with just her, her father, and all of his good old friends that he brought around the house every now and then. Or rather all of the ladies that he had over all the time.
Adonia wasn't just an only child, she basically had to raise herself. It must be interesting to have other people around to have a say, and give advice for what you should do. It sounded kind of nice, actually. Kinsey then said that it wasn't that hard to see the good and the bad in the world right now, and Adonia nodded, liking her blunt way of phrasing things with that little snap in her tone. "Well, some people are just all bliss and no reality, and other people are just all sadness, and no mirth. I can tell you have a good balance of each."

The girl's intentions didn't change when Kinsey told her that she was a muggleborn, which was a relief. The good thing was that they were touching, so if she had, Kinsey would have known and could have tried to get away somehow. She didn't want to run away from people, but she also had no intention of getting in danger because of peoples' prejudice. She smiled. "I have one brother, he's the oldest, two older sisters who are twins, and three younger sisters, triplets." That might be more information than the girl really wanted to know, but Kinsey offered it anyway. Most people knew all about her family anyway.
Kinsey looked at the girl curiously. How did Adonia feel like she already knew Kinsey enough to be making that kind of a judgment about her, that she had a good balance? It was an interesting idea, and Kinsey definitely agreed with her, but she wondered why Adonia would think that. "I like to think so," she answered with a smile. "Do you think you have a balance of both?" She felt like that kind of question might help her get to know the Durmstrang girl better.

As Kinsey started to list her siblings, Adonias jaw slowly dropped. That many!? Twins? Triplets? Not only were they all magical, but twins and triplets too!? Genes were strange things. "So, you're in the middle," Adonia noted. "That sounds amazing! Do you all get along fairly well?" she asked. As much fun as getting along was, it was unlikely with that many siblings. And any sibling drama would be quite fascinating to Adonia as well. The good and the bad, she lives for it all as long as it was interesting.
Kinsey was confident, underneath that initial standoffish/shy at the same time exterior. At least that's what Adonia gathered. Adonia shrugged, tossing her head back just a little in a short laugh. "Oh, I'm all mirth," she admitted. "I'm just here to have fun! Speaking of, dementors!" they had arrived, and she pointed to the hanging pinaya in front of them. "I'll go first?"

Adonia was obviously shocked by the size of Kinsey's family and the girl smiled back at her. Sometimes it was entertaining to see the way people reacted to that. She nodded when Adonia started commenting, and even gave a little laugh. Amazing? Yeah ... sure. "Yeah, I'm in the middle. I get along with ... some of them. I'm really close with my brother and one of the triplets. Not so much with one of the twins. She's actually in Ravenclaw with me, so we get into a lot of fights with one another." Why was she telling a stranger all of this? Kinsey laughed nervously. "Sorry, I'm sure you didn't want to know that ..." Oops.
Kinsey smiled when the other girl said she just wanted to have fun. "Well, I guess you're in the right place then," Kinsey answered, before grinning at the girl's excitement. "Be my guest," she said, taking a step back and gesturing for Adonia to go in front of her. The girl was definitely interesting, that was sure.

"Oh, no! I find sibling drama fascinating," she admitted. "Since I have none. Because with friends you can just let them go after a fight but with family... well, you're kind of forced to reconcile, aren't you?" she guessed. She honestly didn't know much about it. Having been an only child, and her best friend having been an only child, she didn't see much of it.
Kinsey was right in saying that Adonia was in the right place, and Adonia stepped up. "Now, Kinsey, you just have to think of your fears and..." she whacked the faux dementor as hard as she could, causing one of it's arms to snap. She giggled and raised an eyebrow at her new friend, "see? You just have to stand up to them," she explained, metaphorically. She faced the Dementor again and closed her eyes for a brief moment, thinking of all the things she was afraid of. Growing old and being unable to use her body like she did now, unable to run, unable to have all this energy. Or the same fear of growing old but her brain betraying her. Not being able to think straight... being confined in her own mind.
She whacked the dementor again and it burst both legs right off, but she didn't stop there. Eyes wide open now, she beat it again and again, until it was just rubble on the ground. She turned back to Kinsey, her intense look replaced with a smile once more.

Kinsey nodded when Adonia started to explain why she found sibling drama interesting. ”Most of the time, yeah you have to reconcile, she answered, semi-rebelliously as she thought of Cara. That sister of hers drove her crazy and Kinsey couldn’t’ remember the last time they’d reconciled. They always seemed to be arguing over one thing or another.
She watched as Adonia stepped toward the dementor piñata, explaining what needed to be done. The girl seemed to be quite good at this, breaking off an arm on her first try. Then she went all out and Kinsey was entranced as she watched the girl bash the thing to pieces. It was kind of nerve-wracking, but at the same time not. When Adonia started, her aura darkened a bit, but once she finished and turned around with a smile Kinsey wasn’t sensing bad intentions from the girl, so she felt comfortable in staying. How strange. Maybe her intentions to destroy the piñata came through?
Kinsey took the bat and stepped forward. She thought of her gift, of her fear that it would betray her, that it wouldn’t help her keep her family and loved once safe. She thought of what would happen if people found out about it and started swinging the bat. Really, Kinsey wasn’t paying attention to what her arms did or whether or not she connected with the piñata, though she could sense it when she connected. She was busy doing just as Adonia suggested and whacking her fears away. After a bit, she stepped back, surprised when her dementor was just as destroyed as Adonia’s. She turned to face the girl, offering a small smile. “I suppose I got more into that than I expected,” she admitted, a little embarrassed. She didn’t normally show her emotions like that.
