It had been an interesting day to say the least. Her classes had been a bit of a blunder the first half of the day with Charles smashing two of her teacups. When one of her younger students thought it would be funny to take an amethyst crystal ball from her cabinet and stick it under his shirt, Briege gave him detention. She didn't know where some of these students - especially the boys - got the idea that handling these possessions was all fun and games. She had explained the basics of how each individual carried a different energy and vibration and how that could affect the way they worked with Divination. For example, some student might work better with a rose quartz crystal ball while others worked better with clear quartz. Briege, herself, loved rose quartz but also had a smoky quartz ball she liked - it worked really well for more serious work.
That afternoon, she had spilled scalding coffee down her arm and had to run to the Hospital Wing to get a healing salve. The burn was gone, thankfully. Now, Briege, a bit tired from the day, sat in her chair with a window cracked, letting in a bit of the chilly Spring air, while a soft herb burned in her hearth. Briege still burned a fire in her office's fireplace - the Towers could get pretty cold. Sometimes she missed the Hufflepuff Common Room: it was quite toasty down there she remembered. The young woman tucked her legs up in her oversized chair, peering over some papers she was grading. THe boy from earlier poked his head in and Briege glimpsed up.
"All finished cleaning those teacups out?" Briege asked. He nodded. "You may leave. Thank you." He did so, and she heard the trap door close with a soft thud. Briege groaned and tilted her head this way and that, trying to stretch out the kinks in her neck. She took a sip of her second coffee of the day, thankful that her classes were finished for the day. She was looking forward to a warm dinner in her stomach in just a couple of hours and then climbing into her bed. Dreams had been plaguing her lately, making her sleep restless.
That was it, Briege realized. Her mind was trying to tell her something through her dreams, but she was only getting glimpses. That was why she was so tired and having problems today. Briege pushed her papers away and stood, walking to the cabinet behind her desk to retrieve her smoky quartz crystal ball. She brought it back to her desk and sat up, brushing her hair from her face. Taking a deep breath in, her chest rising, she let it out just as slowly through her lips, and then lifted her hands to brush against the crystal ball. Energy flowed through her hands and sent chills up her arms. Briege didn't have to close her eyes for the Vision to come - it practically slammed into her. One of her previous students would be coming to her, this afternoon. This was the student who had caused quite a bit of trouble, who had tried to severely hurt more than just one person. Her vibrations were heavy in the air, but calm. She was coming to Briege to find...relief? Someone to connect to? Briege only got a glimpse of the girl's smile before the vision left her leaning back in her chair, her hands falling to her table away from the crystal ball. It was a warning, to be careful. But Briege also knew that if someone needed her help, she would always offer it. So, she waited.
