Olivia was incredibly curious about this entire carnival deal. She wasn't sure how different magical carnivals were from muggle carnivals, but she was about to find out. Her trip there wasn't very long, but she had made sure to invite Lance prior. It had been in a quick passing to classes, her basically yelling, 'hope I see you there!' And Olivia assumed from the smile he had given, that she would. As the weeks had gone on, Olivia was beginning to realize her true feelings for the southern boy. She had made a pact to herself in the beginning of the year that this was her last year, it wasn't for romance, it was for focusing on her future. But every time she saw that damn blonde boy with the lip ring, she couldn't help but feel differently.
As she turned the corner, she saw that exact boy, and Olivia grinned. Following him through the crowd, she called his name. "Lance!" Laughing, Olivia twirled through the people among them, the trees and all of the venders. Whether he could see her or not, she wasn't sure, but it was amusing. "I hope you can run fast, cause you've got to catch me for a surprise!" Olivia laughed.

@jill15 There was a carnival in Hogsmeade. That was one of the strangest sentences Lance had ever overheard while at Hogwarts. Going surely meant a trip down memory lane, to happier times. Times that were only in his head now and that he could never get back. Those thoughts were dark though, and he had intended on going just to placate them a little longer. The fairs and carnivals that he recalled going to back home were always fun, and he kind of hoped that this one, albeit it being magical, would still come close to capturing the essence of a no-maj one. While there were a lot of things that the magical community simply couldn’t comprehend or ever dare understand, Lance had the feeling that a carnival, and the carnies that came with it, would be no different from what he was used to. At some point, after already deciding that he was going to go, Olivia found him in a hallway and asked him if he wanted to join her. He didn’t see why not. Then they could really criticize the carnival, in case it wasn’t as grand as everyone else made it out to be. They were allowed to do that as Americans.
So Lance found himself there, at the carnival, around the time that they had agreed on meeting. It was relatively packed, which didn’t surprise him at all, considering that it was apparently being hosted by the tournament. Similar to the tasks and the Yule Ball, there were dozens of Ministry employees and parents wandering around, all on top of three schools worth of students This was probably one of the only times that Hogwarts would let the younger students off the grounds, and he could tell that they were taking advantage of it. Enormous groups of tiny first and second years roamed everywhere. Swarms of small children running around clearly carried over between carnivals, regardless of magic.
He heard his name called, loudly, and turned just in time to see Olivia running off. He never really considered himself a pessimist, but running through this crowd was a little ridiculous to expect of him. It wasn’t like he was small, like Olivia was. She would blend in amongst the younger students, which meant that she could also use them to her advantage. The crowd seemed to ebb and flow depending on whether or not these groups were around. Pushing through the lines and masses as apologetically as he could, Lance was sure he still had sight of the Ravenclaw, though he couldn’t be sure.
