Sav wandered around the carnival with his tokens jingling in his pocket. Sav was a fun loving guy and appreciated any opportunity to have fun. When he heard about the carnival in Hogsmead, he knew that it would promise a great time. So the Gryffindor walked around and took in the sites. There were so many colors and so many smells, and for someone who loved to eat, the smells intrigued him. He made his way to the booths selling food and had a search around for something that smelled the best. He passed by a cart selling various pretzels and looked over their menu hanging above their booth. They displayed large pictures of pretzels with toppings like pizza with pepperoni and 5-cheese jalapeno. He wondered if it was an American thing, he had only ever had pretzels with salt. "I'll take a pizza with pepperoni pretzel." he decided and paid for his treat. The witch working the counter asked if he wanted a warm cheese sauce to dip it into but he shook his head. He waited by the booth until his order was up and then he took the basket and looked over his snack. It was large and covered in grease, he dabbed it was a napkin just slightly and then took a massif bite into it. It tasted magnificent. Not like a pretzel exactly, but definitely something he would buy again, and maybe again after that.

Hugo was super excited to be at the carnival. From his point of view, this carnival was exactly what the school needed. It was making everyone forget their troubles and just enjoy themselves for a bit, which Hugo definitely thought was healthy. He was wandering around, not really quite sure what he wanted to do, until he saw a place with some food. He went over to grab some and then smiled when he saw a friend. He walked over to Sav, taking a glimpse at the food he had. "Hey Sav. What do you have there?" he asked curiously. Hugo knew he was hungry, but he didn't really know what he was in the mood for. Maybe this would help him ... or maybe he'd forgo food so he could spend some time with his friend.

Sav turned around when he heard the voice of his good friend behind him. Hugo was inquiring into the food that was currently stuffed in Sav's mouth. The Gryffindor chewed it quickly and swallowed it down before speaking. "Hey man, yeah it's this pepperoni pizza pretzel." he explained. "From this booth here." he pointed to the food cart behind him. There was a small line, but neither of them was currently in anyone's way. "It's pretty good, really greasy, but I don't mind too much." he admitted. Though he could also eat anything. "Have you been here long? Are you looking to grab something to eat?" he asked. "I can walk with you," he insisted, grabbing another napkin for extra reinforcements. he wasn't a messy eater, but he didn't want to take any chances. Having food on his face was not something he was interested in. It was always something he was worried about.

Hugo couldn’t help but grin when his friend turned around unable to speak because his mouth was full of … what was it full of? Pepperoni pizza pretzel? Hugo never heard of such a thing, but it looked like Sav was enjoying it, and if that’s what he was smelling it sure seemed like something he’d want to try. ”I think I’m going to have to give that a try,” he admitted, moving closer to the booth that Sav pointed out. The line wasn’t long, so it wouldn’t be a problem. Hugo laughed at Sav’s comment about the pizza, ”Grease has never been a real issue for me.” Granted, Hugo never ate a ton of grease, but still the point stood. He’d be fine. He shook his head at his friend’s question. ”I haven’t been here long. Just got here actually and was taking a few minutes to look around when the smell of food brought me over here. You?” He nodded when Sav said he’d walk with him. ”How about let’s get me some of that food and then we can both walk around,” Hugo suggested. It wasn’t long before he made it to the booth and ordered, the food finishing right as he finished paying. He turned to his friend, ”Alright, so where do you want to go first?”

Sav was glad to have the company. He was a very social being never took his friends for granted, plus, he hadn't been able to really talk with Hugo for a few days and was beginning to miss his friend. Hugo had always been a close friend to him, definitely a best friend. "It's worth the grease." he insisted and waited with his friend while he ordered and got his food. "I just got here too, I wanted to scope it out a bit before Saturday." he admitted. "I've actually got a date here on Saturday so I didn't want to be lost and confused when I brought her here. I've got a reputation to protect." he blushed a little. He was rather excited for it. And he was excited to tell his friend. Actually, Hugo was the first person that he told about his date. "Yeah, let's walk around a bit, I want to get my lay of the land. We could go walking near the rides and stuff over there?" he suggested, pointing towards the large farris wheel what was looming over the rest of the carnival.

Hugo grinned when his friend confirmed that the food was worth the grease. That sealed the deal for him. The good thing was that the line wasn't too long and it moved along quite fast. He lifted an eyebrow when Sav said he wanted to scope it out before Saturday. "Saturday," he started, but Sav was already answering his unspoken question, saying that he had a date and didn't want to get lost or confused. "You have a date this Saturday," Hugo repeated with a grin. "With who, man?" he asked, excitement for his friend clear in his tone. Hugo always got excited when his friends were happy and he could tell that Sav was happy. He nodded when Sav mentioned wanting to walk around. "Alright, let's go," he agreed, starting in the direction his friend pointed. "When did you ask her out? And how come I didn't know until now?" Hugo teased. He really wasn't upset, he was just trying to get as much out of Sav as he could. He didn't expect it to be hard though. He and Sav were best friends. They didn't really keep secrets from one another.

"Hey I tried to tell you when it first happened but you were... asleep. I met her at 3am." he admitted, and he knew it sounded a little questionable. "I mean I knew her before, and so do you, she's Gryffindor in our year, It's Jessie." he told his friend while the corner of his mouth turned up into a small smile. He took the second to last bite of his pretzel. "We ran into each other in the kitchens at 3am and kind of clicked. I don't know. But I asked her out for Saturday." He was quite proud of himself. However, another part was a little nervous. He hadn't been quite awake when they met and he asked her out, what if tiredness had tampered with his memory of the night and she wasn't at all what he remembered? However, he wasn't a heartbreaker, so he would go and he was just hoping for the best. "What about you?" he asked taking the last bite and then tossing his garbage into a bin as they walked. "Any romantic interested in your sight?" he teased.

Hugo laughed when Sav mentioned that he'd been asleep when it all went down. "Man, you know better than that. You should've woken me up. 3 am or not," he grinned at his best friend, waiting to hear more about it. Of course, if Sav wasn't as forthcoming as Hugo expected him to be, he would definitely barrage the boy with questions, but he'd give his friend a chance to explain first. He took a bite of his food as he waited for Sav to explain more. "Jessie," Hugo said with an approving nod. He could actually picture the two in his head. They were all in the same year, Jessie was nice and fun ... and a bit of a spitfire if Hugo remembered right, but definitely in a good way. He laughed. "3 am in the kitchens. Sounds dangerous," he teased. "So what, you went down there and she was already there?" He asked. Hugo couldn't help it. Sometimes he was nosy, which Sav knew. Apparently this was one of those times. He laughed at Sav's question. "Just the same one as last year. I told you Xan got out of the hospital wing, right?" Hugo asked. He and Xan had been dating for quite a while now, but she'd spent the majority of the year in the hospital wing with some sickness that being around magic made worse. It didn't make any sense to Hugo, but apparently she was better now and he couldn't be happier about it.

Sav had considered waking his friend up when he got back to the dorm, he had to admit. But instead the young Gryffindor just laid in bed for a few hours with a dorky grin on his face before deciding to give into not being able to sleep and go for a long run instead. It was the only way he knew he'd be able to feel at all normal about that day. Exercise always cleared his head. "Yeah, she's nice. I went down to get a burger and she was already there. We talked for a while. Or, maybe we flirted, but it was fun and somewhat of a challenge. It wasn't like a lot of conversations that I've had with the girls around here." Except for Madison of course, but he couldn't help but know that since nothing had come of them thus far, noting would. "Right, yeah I heard she was out." Sav gave a nod and instantly felt like a bad friend for not asking about her sooner. "I'm glad, I haven't seen her forever. Are you going to try to bring her out to the carnival?" he asked his friend. "Hey, maybe at some point we can have a double date. Assuming everything works out on my first date, of course."

Sav liked this girl. Hugo could tell by the smile on his friend's house at the memory of this girl. Also, the fact that he hadn't woken Hugo up after asking her out on a date was probably another indication. He grinned, listening nto how they talked (flirted, for sure) in the kitchens, calling it a challenge. Interesting, that a conversation could be a challenge. "Well you're going to have to let me know how this date with her goes, because I'm super curious now," Hugo informed his friend. Hugo smiled, "Yeah, I'm going to see if she wants to come, but she might want to take it easy." Ha. Knowing Xan, she would want to be out here, doing everything. Hugo nodded vigorously at Sav's suggestion. "We should! And if your date goes half as well as your conversation in the kitchens," Hugo teased, "then I'm sure there will be another date. Hmmm ... what should we plan for this date?" Something fun, of course, but what?

Sav was very into the idea of going on a double date. He had never double dated before. Granted, he only had one serious relationship before and it was with Hugo's cousin, so a double date with him could have been awkward. But the idea seemed perfect to Sav. He loved his friends, he loved having plans and he was sure that his date was going to go well and something about planning another date with Jessie before the first one even happened made him happy and sort of proud. He was excited. He was overjoyed by his recent luck and good fortune and he was happy that his best friend was feeling it too. "Maybe something casual and not so demanding so that Xan feels comfortable." Sav insisted. He knew she was just getting out of the hospital wing and likely still recovering so jumping off mountains was probably a no. "Maybe a picnic? It's starting to get really nice outside. We could all just hangout and keep it chill." he offered.

Sav seemed interested in the idea of actually going on a double date and Hugo was excited. If it was anyone else he would probably question their motives or whether or not they actually wanted to double date or were just trying to please him, but he knew Sav better than that. He nodded as Sav started suggesting something casual, giving a small chuckle. "Oh, I'm sure that Xan would be down for whatever we planned," Hugo answered confidently. She was just that kind of girl. She'd try anything and do her best with whatever they decided to do. "But I think choosing something not demanding is a good idea." He appreciated that Sav was being so considerate on Xan's behalf. Then his friend suggestsed a picnic and Hugo's mouth fell open for a minute. "Oooh that's a great idea! A picnic." He smiled as he thought about it. "We could even go out on a boat if we wanted to," Hugo suggested with a shrug.

Sav began to get really excited as well, but of course, he wouldn't let it show, not too much at least. Maintaining his cool guy image was really hard sometimes. "I think the girls would love it." he admitted. He liked calling Jess his girl, it gave him a little bit of butterflies in his stomach and it made him grin. He liked talking about the two as their girls. He was happy for his friend that things were working out and he was happy for himself that things were working out. "We can make it really cute and sweet for them, and the flowers will all start to bloom soon anyway." he loved the way Hogwarts looked in the spring. He loved the colors and the beauty. Nothing made him happier than a spring or fall morning run. "And the boats are a great idea." he agreed enthusiastically. "I always find of forget those are there." he admitted.

Hugo nodded in agreement to his friend's comment. "I think they will. And if we need more excitement ..." he trailed off as he thought of things they could do. Rather, things he could do to surprise everyone else. Like tipping the boat or starting a water fight or something. Hugo didn't care that the water was cold, it would still be fun. "we can find ways to make it more exciting," he added after a moment, not giving any of his thoughts away. "Yup! Sweet and cute! You and me, we're going to make it the best double date ever," Hugo answered enthusiastically. He laughed when his friend said he always forgot the boats. "I have too much fun on them to forget them. Don't worry, I've got your back, man." He looked around himself as they walked through the carnival. "So you seeing anything you want to do with Jessie?" he asked after a moment.

"As soon as I get through my first date we can bombard them with the double date." Sav insisted. He was very much enjoying the fair, it was cute and definitely a good place for a first date. There was good food around, plenty of games and some chances to be alone and just talk. "I think I'll take her on the farris wheel to start and we can talk for a bit, and then we can play some games and get some food. I probably should win her a stuffed animal of some kind, because I've heard girls like that." He explained with a smirk. "And then, ugh, I don't know, we'll see where it goes." he insisted. he had a lot going on in his head it had been a while since he had gone on a first date. Should he kiss her, should he try putting his arm around her on the farris wheel or while they walked? He guessed he'd figure it out.
