Eliza knew that Dusti could take care of herself, but that had never meant she didn't worry. And it was March - almost April, now - and there was still so much uncertainty in their lives. Their parents were dead, fine, they'd moved on from that. But the Hexen were still in full force in Hogwarts, and the world outside held all the conflict of pureblood extremists, the uncertainty of finding a job and where they'd live, the pressure to comply with a name that shouldn't ever have been hers. Eliza worried for herself, but she worried for her sister too.
She'd sat outside by the pond for a quiet moment, hoping that no one would bother them, because there were a thousand people she couldn't tell, but there was one person she could. She just really needed to talk to Dusti. Maybe then she could move forward.

Life for the Flint children had never been easy. Especially with their parents' murder/death. But the twins in particular seemed to have it much worse then the boys. For only months before they became 'orphans' they'd discovered that they weren't Flints at all. It should have been a blessing. But all it'd done was make Dusti more distant and hostile to others. Because now? Now she didn't even know who she was supposed to be. The twins' world had turned upside down twice, and somehow they were expected to put the pieces back together. Dusti had never been good at puzzles.
Eliza, in Dusti's opinion, seemed to have handled all of this much better then herself. But to be honest... she wasn't sure. She hadn't been nearly as good of a sister as she could have this year and she did feel bad for her younger twin. Not just because they were in this situation together but because Dusti had always tried to protect Eliza. And she felt like she'd been failing at that...
So, Dusti silently approached her sister, taking up the spot next to the other blonde without hesitation. "Hey." she greeted quietly, her gaze still wandering to ensure they were alone. She didn't much like intruders on her private conversations.

Eliza looked up at her sister when she sat beside her on the bench. "Hey," she replied, offering Dusti a small but genuine smile. "How are classes going for you? Getting all the grades you need for Healing?" Not that she doubted her sister, but it was hard to just out and spill all the worries in her head, even to Dusti. But classes were easy enough to talk about, and they'd get there. When it came down to it, they always did.

Dusti finally looked at her sister once she was satisfied they were alone. Seeing that small smile brought her own rare and small smile. Not that Dusti wasn't happy. She could be, but she simply didn't smile easily. She was too guarded. But not with her sister. They'd been together since birth, if there was anyone she trusted while heartedly it was Eliza.
Of course, the first topic of discussion was classes and preparation for their future careers. Her smile slowly disappeared. Because she hadn't told Eliza yet. That... she wasn't going to go into healing anymore. She'd finally made the decision the other day, and sent back her response to the team... "I'm not going to be a healer." she softly answered. She had the grades for it, if she wanted. But... she knew she needed to take this risk. "I accepted a contract. With one of the Professional Quidditch teams." She wouldn't let her deceased parents dictate or affect her future. She would aim for the dreams that she'd necer considered. "What about you?" she asked, to get the topic away from her upcoming Quidditch Career.

Dusti returned her smile, and Eliza felt a little bit of the tension ease from her shoulders. Not alone. No need to hide.
And then Dusti had news to share - she wasn't going to go into Healing after all. She'd been scouted for Quidditch. Eliza's eyes widened, and she smiled brightly at her sister. "Oh, Dusti! Congratulations! I'm sure you'll be amazing. Which team?" If Dusti's dreams had changed, then so be it - Eliza would support her sister always.
She understood why Dusti wanted to change the subject though, and Eliza didn't mind. Her plans hadn't changed much; it was safe enough. "I'm still going after the Daily Prophet. Marks aren't half so important as building the portfolio, and it turns out Madam Macmillan knows some people, so I've got some contacts. It's looking promising." Eliza wouldn't really believe it was happening properly until she had her first day on the job, but it was getting close.

Dusti's sister's excite made her smile grow a little sheepish as she looked away for a second. She didn't want the whole spotlight that came with playing professionally but she liked The sport. She was the Slytherin captain after all. She was a decent keeper (more than decent since she was recruited as a keeper). Someday she may change her mind and do a different direction but for now? She needed to see this through. "The Fitchburg Finches. They transferred to the U.K. League from the USA." The US league wasn't nearly as impressive as the European leagues, so it made sense that a serious team would transfer.
Ah, her sister the reporter. Of course Elizabeth was still set on going into journalism. "You have everything you've written for the school newspaper." she commented at the mention of a portfolio. While Dusti didn't read the paper often she made sure to read her sister's pieces.

Dusti was a little sheepish about the attention, and while that might be a problem down the line, Eliza could hardly blame her it. Still, she wasn't going to not praise her sister, especially when it was just the two of them. "I guess I'll finally have a team to root for at the expense of all the others," sh said with a smile. "What colour robes do I need to acquire?" There was no question that she would now be backing the Fitchburg Finches until the end of time - or her sister switched teams.
Eliza smiled when Dusti mentioned her writings for the school paper. "Exactly. I've been copying them into a file, and I've had to cast an Enlargement Charm on it twice. I've written a lot, over the years." She'd been amazed to realise just how much, and was very grateful that she'd started at the beginning of the year, or she'd never finish the job. And even she was impressed at how much she'd improved since first year, so hopefully future employeers would be too.

Dusti knew her sister wasn't nearly into Quidditch as she was. It was only natural. Despite being twins the Flint (technically Macmillan) girls were quite different. They might have had the same upbringing but it'd shaped them in different ways. "They are red and white." she answered. It would be strange, to not wear Slytherin's colors come graduation. But it was a welcome change. Getting into th Quidditch league would open doors. She'd never have to deal with reminders of her now deceased parents again. She could find out who she was, without their shadow blocking her path.
Both of Dusti's eyebrows raised st her sisters admittance. "Twice?" was her surprised reaction. Had Elizabeth really written that much? It wasn't like Fusti had been counting though... so it was likely. Her expression softened to a smile. "You'll have ample examples then." she finished answering. She wouldn't be surprising if her sister got the job. "You'll have to let me know how it goes."

Dusti said that the Fitchburg Finches colours were red and white. Probably bigger fans would have known that without asking, but Eliza knew Dusti wouldn't mind in the slightest. "Oh good! I was afraid it would be something dreadful like Chudley Cannon orange or hot pink like that French team." She could handle red and white. With style even, and she would.
"Twice," she confirmed with a blush. "It is seven years worth. I'm going to have to pick favourites, because otherwise they won't know where to start." She knew she'd have to work as an intern for a while first, but hopefully she could move into more interesting work quickly. As long as they didn't stick her in the society section - she rather thought she'd lose her mind. "But of course I'll tell you how it goes."
There was something else bothering her too, and her hands started twisting in her robe until she asked, "Do you know where you're going to live?"
