Ondina really was in a bad mood today. More so then usual, and when she was in a bad mood? Well it usually meant she went looking for some poor idiot to torment. Making someone feel bad was a great way to make yourself feel better, nothing more satisfying then watching someone's confidence and self esteem slowly be crushed. It was always such a hassle to find someone alone or a few that were too weak willed to put up a fight though. It seemed like most the groups now a days had at least one person that would bite back if you pushed hard enough. And Ondina want really in the mood to deal with a wannabe hero.
That was when she spotted someone she knew was literally a walking target. And just like a snake in the wild once it's prey got close enough, Ondina immediately took the opportunity.
Donning a sickeningly sweet smile it took only the smallest motion of her hand to magically tug on the rug (just enough to achieve her goal) under the poor soul's feet and send them tumbling to the ground. "oh! Are you alright?! That was quite the tumble!" she immediately called out, her voice dripping with feigned concern. She was quite the actress when she needed to be...

Walking while reading was something that Oona had learned not to do for her own safety. It was too easy to end up distracted by the text in front of her face, and she considered doing so to be a rather juvenile mistake. Walking with a pile of books in her arms—all of them quite heavy—was, however, unavoidable, given how many classes she had and how it was both an inconvenience and a waste of time to return the ones that she didn't need to her dormitory between class periods.
It was on such a day—a rather ordinary one, at that—that Oona found herself walking along, clutching as many books to her chest as she could. Doing that was better than piling them up into one large stack, even if her Transfiguration book did seem as though it was getting ready to slip away from her. More or less, though, she had everything balanced, with the library books that she needed to return within the easiest reach.
Oona was making her way through the fourth-floor corridor, more concerned with the possibility of Peeves than with any of the other people milling about, when she felt the rug—literally—pulled from beneath her feet. The books went flying somewhere over her head and landed with a thud—as did she—on the ground. Expecting to hear Peeves' voice taunting her, she was surprised to hear that of another girl.
“Oh! Are you alright?!” she asked. “That was quite the tumble!”
Sure that she hadn't broken anything in the fall except for her momentary pride, Oona sat up and began to dust herself off. “I'm alright,” she called back, not looking to see who had addressed her. She could feel that she was going to be bruised, but she was more concerned about the books she'd dropped, for which she immediately began to search.

Juliet didn't get upset often, but today had been an especially dreadful day. She had gotten in trouble for being late to her first class of the day, had a huge argument with her sister, and, to top it all off, received a Poor grade on her Care of Magical Creatures homework. Although things had calmed down somewhat, Juliet was still in an awful mood.
She was walking through the fourth floor corridor, staring at her feet miserably as she did so. That was when something caught her by surprise. A rug she was about to step on had simply flown away from her foot. With an expression of confusion, she looked up to see the cause just in time to see a young girl tumble forwards and drop all of her books. When the girl, who Juliet did not recognize, started looking for the books she had dropped, Juliet instinctively picked a couple of the books up to help her. The girl had already said she was alright, so Juliet didn't see the point of asking again; instead, she simply handed the books to the girl. "Here you go," she said with an older-sister kind of smile.cordelia regan smith @oona @dominic Ondina Nell Weasley

Dominic was leaning against the wall in the fourth floor corridor, when he saw Ondina at the other end, slowly approaching. He smirked, keeping his arms folded and his shoulders slightly slouched as he watched her. He knew that walk. Ondina was out for the kill. He would wait, and see what came of this for now. Her first little victim arrived in the form of his housemate, Oona. He watched her take the tumble and stifled a laugh and Ondinas sweet tone afterward. Then, Juliet was there offering assistance. He raised an eyebrow, seeing that Ondina was outnumbered. That wasn't really an issue for her, of course. Not with these two, but he still chose to join the fun. "Lead feet, much?" he addressed, raising an eyebrow at Oona and pushing off his perch. @juliet Ondina Nell Weasley@oona

Ondina hadn't even noticed Dominic's presence until he spoke, she'd been so focused on her helpless victim. She gave him a glance out of the corner of her eyes and smirked. There really wouldn't have been anyway to catch herself, considering the stack of books in her arms. Could she even see her feet? That was partially why Ondina had chosen her. It's just been far to easy.
Bending down to pick up one of the scattered books she weighed it in her hand, taking a step back so she was standing next to Dominic but the book in question would be out of their immediate reach. " You should be more careful, especially around here. Peeves is always up to no good." ugh, despite being good at faking a sweet demeanor it often repulsed her. Like it was almost too sweet.

Another girl had seen her fall and had done her the favor of picking up her dropped books from off of the floor for her. Oona got to her feet and gratefully took them from her, glad that she could get back on her way. “Thank you,” she told the girl, a Hufflepuff, who looked to be in her sixth or seventh year.
She was about to walk away from where she had fallen when another voice came from nearby; this time, a boy's. “Lead feet, much?” he taunted her. Focused on his comment, Oona didn't even see that there had been another book still on the floor—or that the girl who had first spoken to her had grabbed it.
Oona told herself that it wasn't worth it to say anything back to him—not when the first girl chimed in again, bringing up the need to be careful in the presence of Peeves. Oh, well, she thought; it might have happened this once, but at least she had all of her books back.
And that was when she counted the books in her arms, which still smarted from the fall. Hadn't she had one more? She counted them again, and there was still one title that remained unaccounted for… She looked around at the ground again, but the book wasn't there. She looked up after that, and then she noticed it in the arms of the girl who must have been the first one to speak to her.
The girl who had picked up most of the books for her was alright—just a bystander—but the first girl? It had been none other than Ondina Weasley, and the boy next to her was Dominic Dippet. In comparison to them, she might as well have been a first-year.
“I need to return that book to the library,” she informed Ondina sharply, motioning towards the book that was being kept from her. “It's school property,” she reminded, not to mention that it was checked out in her name.

When the girl, who Juliet realized was a Ravenclaw, thanked her, Juliet nodded her head politely. "No problem," she answered, before being distracted by another voice just a few seconds later. She looked around to see who had made fun of the girl, only to see that the source of the voice was... what was his name again... Dominic? Usually, she would have stood up for the younger girl, but she didn't seem too insulted and Juliet was definitely not in the mood for another argument today. Not to mention, Dominic looked intimidating to say the least.
When she saw Ondina Weasley beside him, she started to feel a little suspicious, even though Ondina sounded nice enough at the moment. "I'm sure he is," Juliet mumbled when the Slytherin warned the girl that Peeves was always up to no good. She watched, a little concerned, as the girl asked Ondina for her library book back. Although she really just wanted to hide in her dorm room and take a nap, Juliet decided to stick around for a few moments to make sure the Ravenclaw got all of her things back alright.@dominic Ondina Nell Weasley @oona

Dominic admired the way Ondina casually stepped back to be beside him, making a separation between them and the other girls. He did stay silent for the moment, however. Just watching Oona notice Ondina take her book, and the way Juliet mumbled her agreement about Peeves the Poltergeist. Juliet was clearly more apt for a fight then Oona, but Dom wasn't planning on giving her a good chance to gain any ground. He would let Ondina take the lead, though, and didn't feel it was his time to say anything yet. He just stood beside her, glancing at the book in her hand to try and catch the title. @juliet Ondina Nell Weasley@oona

Ondina raised an eyebrow as the little fourth year demanded to have the book back. Was that any way to speak to a school Prefect? She thought not! Her gaze flickered to the Hufflepuff audience, then back to the Ravenclaw girl. At least the other girl hadn't jumped in yet. "You mean this book?" she turned the book over in her hands, eyeing it carefully. "You know, I think I better hang onto this, to make sure you didn't damage it in your clumsiness. It is school property, after all." she answered in that same sweet tone, though a sharp bite was starting to come through. "If this is how you take care of your library books I'm sure the librarian would be very concerned."

“You mean this book?” Ondina asked. Oona knew that the older girl wasn't stupid; of course it was the book that she had grabbed and not one of the many that Oona had in her arms again. She wouldn't have brought it up if she hadn't needed that copy back. “You know,” she could hear Ondina consider, “I think I better hang onto this, to make sure you didn't damage it in your clumsiness. It is school property, after all.”
Looking back down at the others in her stack, Oona observed that they all looked perfectly fine. She wasn't going to check each book individually—and especially not each individual page, but they were thick and sturdily-bound.
“If this is how you take care of your library books,” Ondina added, “I'm sure the librarian would be very concerned.”
If any pages in any of them had been dog-eared, Oona knew without a question that the mistreatment had to have been perpetrated by someone who had come before her, although she knew that there was no reasonable way of proving that to Ondina. Frankly, she couldn't trust Ondina not to do the same—or worse, potentially—and then pin it on her.
Oona knew herself and her own conduct, though, and she was beginning to regret that she was holding a stack of books and not her wand. She could have, she thought, passed them back over to the Hufflepuff girl who had helped her by picking them up, but that ruined the amount of surprise that would have been necessary to summon the copy of Charms of Defence and Deterrence back into her possession without Ondina's expecting it.
With nothing else as a viable option, Oona saw negotiation as her only ticket to getting the book back from Ondina. “You can find it in the library once I've brought it back and the librarian has checked it for damage,” she reasoned. That was perfectly fair, although she had a feeling that that wasn't Ondina's—or Dominic's—intention.

Ondina continued to refuse to give the Ravenclaw her book back, saying she had to "make sure it hadn't been damaged." Juliet rolled her eyes at the ridiculous excuse. Was Ondina just trying to be annoying? The fourth year reasoned that Ondina could simply look at the book after it had been returned to the library, which would have been a good point if Ondina actually cared about the condition of the book, which Juliet guessed she didn't. Since Juliet really just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible, but she didn't want to leave the Ravenclaw on her own, Juliet decided to take matters into her own hands. Pulling her wand from inside her robes, she murmured "Accio book," attempting to send the book flying from Ondina's hands.@dominic Ondina Nell Weasley @oona

Ondina really was a master at being horrible without being incredibly obvious. It was even worse for her prey, because sometimes they really couldn't be sure. She said that she needed to check the book for damage, due to Oonas clumsiness. The book suddenly tugged at Ondinas fingers and Dominic reached over to grab it before it could leave them. "I think summoning charms are a bit juvenile in this case," Dominic challenged, unsure which of the girls was trying to summon it, but he was sure that's why it tried to escape. He released the book, letting Ondina hold onto it, and took a step forward, folding his arms. "Ondina is a prefect, ladies, so I don't think it's very wise to question her. Even if you could win a verbal discussion against her, I highly doubt either of you have enough skill to deal with her magically," Dominics form of bullying was much more obvious. He didn't try to be subtle about anything. Not unless that proved to work better for particular prey. "A fourth year and an..." he tilted his head to the side to survey Juliet, "rather lanky badger don't really have much of a case."@juliet @oona Ondina Nell Weasley

Dominic caught the book as it flew out of Ondina's hand, summoned by one of the two girls. Ondina personally didn't care if they got it back. Because that spell had given Ondina a much better opportunity. Her eyes glinted with almost... glee. As if she was maliciously abused, though it lasted only a moment so Dominic would be the only one to see it if he were looking. The look was replaced by a strongly disapproving looking. Ondina waited until Dominic finished speaking. Reminding the girls that Ondina was both a prefect and magically talented. At least in transfiguration. Quite talented in transfiguration. But she didn't need to resort to magic today. Not after the perfect opportunity they'd given her.
Tucking the book under her arm she took a step forward, making sure her posture was straight and her expression perfectly disappointed. "Using magic in the corridors is against school rules. It's a very serious offense, I may just have to go to your heads of house. I'm sure they'd be interested to know about rule breaking so blatantly in front of a prefect." she stated matter of factly. It was a low blow. It was such a minor rule to break... and yet it was obvious Ondina could twist it into something far more serious. And she would.

Oona balked at Ondina's words. She hadn't even touched her own wand, yet Ondina was speaking as though she had every intention of writing the both of them up for using magic in the corridor, even though it had been only the Hufflepuff girl who had done anything wrong.
“I haven't done anything,” she spoke up, not that Professor Riveras would have any proof that she hadn't. She didn't want to throw the Hufflepuff girl under a proverbial bus—because she had been trying to help—but she had to maintain her own innocence, too. It would be Ondina's word against hers, plus possibly that of the Hufflepuff as an additional witness, and she needed to clear her own name.
Defending the Hufflepuff girl, on the other hand, would be a challenge. “And she was only trying to protect school property,” Oona decided to add on. “A Summoning Charm isn't a jinx or a hex, and any student here at Hogwarts will understand that.” There was very little potential for harm there. Dominic had caught the book, but it hadn't hurt him, so Oona knew that he couldn't try that excuse very effectively. It wasn't even a Stinging Hex!
“And Dominic,” she pointed out, mentioning him by name and feeling perfectly justified in doing so, “implied that we should resort to the use of magic against a Prefect, whilst I'm only requesting the safe return of a library book.”

Dominic suggested summoning charms were "juvenile," which made Juliet chuckle. The only juvenile thing about this situation was Ondina's insistence on starting a big scene. The fact that Ondina was a prefect, which Dominic so gracefully pointed out, only made things worse. Whose idea was it to give this girl any power anyway? Juliet was quite tempted to reply to Dominic when he called her a lanky badger, but held herself back. It isn't worth it, she thought.
And then, of course, Ondina had to remind her that using magic in corridors was against school rules. Juliet, of all people, breaking a rule! "I..." She tried to come up with some witty comment as a reply, but all she could do was think about how much trouble she could get in if Ondina really took this to the Head of Hufflepuff. Using a summoning charm wasn't exactly a major offense, but Ondina was the one in charge -- she could play it up to be a big deal if she really wanted to.
"I haven't done anything," the fourth year insisted. So Juliet tried to help her, and all the Ravenclaw did in return was place the blame on someone else. A moment later, the fourth year tried to defend Juliet, but it was too late now; Ondina and Dominic knew who had used the charm and Juliet was probably subject to any insane punishment the Slytherin prefect invented. "And how much magic have you two used in the corridors lately?" Juliet asked Dominic and Ondina, in an attempt to defend herself, but only after she said it did the Hufflepuff realize that she only made things worse.@dominic Ondina Nell Weasley @oona
