Setting up the elaborate portals for the Purifier's base hadn't been easy. Nor had she wanted to set them up in the first place. But it didn't matter what she wanted. It was what Elaine wanted. And Diana wouldn't disobey her. The base in general hadn't been in use for long, so it was still a bit... drab to be honest, but Elaine and her followers would make it more comfortable over time. Well... About as comfortable as a cavernous dungeon could be. Regardless, today Diana hadn't been planning on going to the base. While the mirrors made it possible for the student members to travel back and forth without drawing any unwanted attention it didn't mean she liked using them often. But here she was, drawn by a unforeseen pull that only she could feel. As if something deep inside her compelled her to come. And it was. Something did compel her. Something drew her here today. And that something was Elaine.
Diana didn't dare breath a word to anyone about her... connection to Elaine. Not her friends, not her family, not even other Purifiers. She couldn't even if she wanted to. Regardless though, that was what brought her to the base, casually and slowly walking down one of the many chambers, following the pulling in her chest. Making her way to the source. Soon, she saw her. "Elaine."

Elaine was happy that the soul binding was still effective when it came to Diana; it was like an Unbreakable Vow but BETTER. If Elaine needed Diana, she could easily summon her just by emoting it. The girl had to do what she asked, and couldn’t tell a soul why. Elaine wished she had more of them, but alas, one would do for now. She had felt disconnected with her student followers since her magnificent escape the previous April; a full year had passed and they hadn’t found her yet. Now, she knew she was tempting fate a bit by setting up a base right under Headmistress McGonagalls noses, but if it had gone undiscovered for so long before, nobody would suspect it now.
She strode around the chambers, taking in every single detail. The furniture, the artwork, the candlelit chandelier twinkling above her. Diana had done well; Elaine closed her eyes, willing the Ravenclaw to come down to meet her. It would take a few minutes, but she knew Diana wouldn’t ignore her call; she couldn’t. Finally, she heard footsteps behind her and she turned, walking calmly out of the shadows so that she could see Diana. “Diana,” she greeted in return. She slowly circled her, like a snake studying its’ prey. “You’ve done well so far,” she allowed, giving Diana a chance to feel pride in what she had accomplished. “Has anyone been given the location yet?” she asked, rather sharply. She would not want any of her followers to come down here before all of the protection charms were in place; some of them were beyond Diana’s skill, which was what brought Elaine there this afternoon.

Diana didnt feel proud at Elaine's compliment. To her immense relief though, Elaine didn't actually tell her to be proud. Because if she had? Diana would have. Elaine's control over Diana was absolutely terrifying. So, instead Dian forced herself to nod in acknowledgement, not looking at her dark mistress as she circled her. It was unnerving, having her back exposed to someone like Elaine. But there was an odd sense of... security. Elaine wouldn't kill Diana. She needed Diana. If she wanted those mirrors to work, if she wanted to have a totally compliant mind slave... but especially if she wanted to make more. Diana was the only one that could do it. Even if Elaine found another Soul Magic user she had to find someone like her. Someone attuned to the forbidden path. The odds would not be in Elaine's favor.. Still. That didn't mean Diana trusted her. Elaine could make Diana do anything. And Elaine had a twisted sense of humor. She wouldn't be surprised to any degree if Elaine decided to punish her..
The question made Diana swallow as she felt a familiar compulsion to answer. It wasn't a command but she still felt the urge to always respond immediately and truthfully. "No, no one else. I won't tell any of them or give them access until you give the approval..." Even if they did know about the base they wouldn't be able to get in. Not without Diana granting them access. Which she wouldn't give without Elaine's permission. "Ondina mentioned wanting to arrange a meeting between you and a potential recruit though. Dominic Dippet." Diana tried hard not to react or frown at the name. Dominic, her friend. In a way it didn't totally surprise her of his desire to get involved... but she was trying to keep those she cared about far from Elaine right now. How could she do that when they walked into Elaine's path?

Elaine raised a brow in Diana’s direction, but said nothing. She knew Diana was...less than thrilled with the arrangement that bound them together, but Elaine personally relished it. Diana would do anything she commanded, but couldn’t tell a soul about it. Elaine could probably tell the girl to slit her own throat and she’d do it. But Diana had not given her reason to dispose of her yet, so she’d continue to live. Besides, Elaine had a couple of tricks left up her sleeve before Diana graduated this June and would no longer have direct access to the castle. Elaine could obviously command her to apply for a position at Hogwarts, but because of, well, her, she knew applications were intensely scrutinized. Voldemort hadn’t even been allowed to work at Hogwarts right out of school, so Diana working here was simply out of the question. Elaine would just have to be sure that everything was ready, and that nobody expected her to strike.
“Good,” Elaine said, her lips pursed in a smirk. She had to make sure everything was perfect before she gathered her Followers down here. “What are your thoughts on the entrance? Ways to make it less...conspicuous?” she asked, turning to look at Diana. It would not good her any good for anyone to be noticed slipping away. If anyone else were to find this place that wasn’t loyal to her...well, there would be consequences to the snitch who gave it away. “Dominic Dippet,” Elaine let the name roll off her tongue as she racked her brain. Ravenclaw, a few years younger. “What do you think of him as a potential recruit? Be honest Diana,” she asked, adding in the last part with a slight taunt. If Dominic was a friend of Diana’s she likely didn’t really want him around Elaine. But with that last command, she had to speak the truth about Dominic, and not play him down. She crossed her arms and waited, tapping her forefinger against her inner arm with an air of impatience.

Diana pondered on her answer. Still compelled to answer but she could st least stop and thing. Especially considering the fact that Elaine had asked for her thoughts. She'd realized quite quickly a few loopholes. Not to stop herself but to give herself a moment's pause. Usually when her opinion was being asked for. "The one is in Professor Kamuntu's office. So anyone taking Ancient ruins wouldn't be seen as out of place for stopping in for long periods." She personally had a perfect alibi. Even before this whole soul binding business she'd spent an unusual amount of time with the Professor, so no one would have a second thought to her disappearing in the office for long periods. It was normal behavior for her. "As long as the mirror is decorative it can fit in almost any location without suspicion. I've blood bound it so only those I grant access to can use it. To anyone else it's an ordinary mirror. But anyone would grow suspicious if students who didn't take Ancient Ruins started spending time in the office..." Professor Kamuntu could keep the mirror safe. Keep suspicion off of it. But she couldn't exactly explain away higher traffic to her office. The only logical answer she could think of... would be to set up a second. That way you could switch up which one you used.
Diana swallowed hard when the real question was asked and her honesty demanded. The compulsion was much stronger this time, all because of Elaine's request for honesty. Even if she had considered lying she couldn't now. The truth was tumbling from her lips before she could stop herself. "Useful. He's been able to manipulate my sisters into all thinking something different about him." she hated admitting that, but it was tr truth, just like Elaine demanded. Cara thought he was her minion. Peyton was his minion of sorts, and Kinsey... well that was complicated. But even herself. She was his best friend.

Elaine noted the pause in Diana before she answered and briefly felt irritated. That was on Elaine, foolish of her to ask for Diana’s opinion instead of asking for an answer. The times that she felt like being lenient with her hold on the Ravenclaw, she would test the boundaries of their bound souls. “Diana are you testing me again?” Elaine chided, tapping the side of her face with a long fingernail. “You know I don’t like that,” she added, her voice gentle and singsong. She traced her finger down the side of the girl's face, before removing it and walking away. “Why is it in the Ancient Runes professor's office of all places? Did you not think how strange it would be if we held a meeting down here and all of a sudden a dozen students file into her office?” she asked, her voice never rising above its’ normal volume, but the rage and venom was quite prominent. “Did you also consider that the only reason that professor is even agreeing to follow me is to wholly protect you? That she is most likely the least trustworthy person of our entire operation? That, given the choice, she’d report all of this to McGonagall or worse, that Mudblood Granger Minister.” Elaine’s face was dangerously close to hers, eyes glinting dangerously. “Find a second mirror, and get a second entrance ready. And don’t you dare tell her about it,” she instructed, careful not to create a loophole this time.
Elaine returned to her pacing, taking in what Diana said about this Dominic fellow, letting her anger subside, and allowing curiosity trickle in. “Elaborate,” Elaine commanded, though as she maintained eyesight with the girl she saw what Diana meant. Dominic was close to each of the sisters in different ways, but she supposed that the only way to really know his opinion was to meet him in person. “If you believe he can be an asset, then you may bring him here. Just know if I don’t think he’s trustworthy enough, it’ll be you having to answer for it.” Elaine’s lips curled upwards in an unfriendly smile as she let that sink in.

Diana closed her eyes, grimancing internally. Fool. Even the slightest hesitation could aggravate Elaine. The older girl would only tighten the leash (noose) around her neck, removing any possible slack there might have been, even if it was microscopic. "Yes..." she was forced to answer, entirely against her will. She couldn't hide anything Elaine wanted to know. Every single secret was Elaine's. Every single thought and desire. And Elaine decided how much to give Diana. Stunts like that didn't improve her chances of any sort of independence. Even her own thoughts. "I'm sorry..." she whispered, actually meaning it. Not because she cared if Elaine was actually mad but because of what Elaine might do. They were still discovering just how powerful the binding us, and Diana did not need Elaine deciding just how far she could push her.
Diana held her breath as she felt Elaine's finger brushing against her cheek, her dark eyes opening and trying very hard to stay as still as possible. It was almost as if she was afraid the light touch might turn into something more painful. Diana wouldn't put it past her. She knew she was in thin ice, constantly. Elaine wouldn't even hesitate to hurt her if Diana gave her a reason.
The breath released (quietly to avoid being heard) only when Elaine stepped away. Finally a point she felt more confident in. Despite Elaine's almost harsh words, questioning Diana's judgement. "As the very first attempt to create a portal and bloodbind it, I felt it was safest to keep the mirror in a location that could be watched over for any potentially negative side affects. It also permits us to know just who has even seen the mirror itself." Yes, all the students sneaking off to the office wasn't ideal. But no one could access the office without the teacher knowing. Which meant they could control any sort of peaked curiosity of the mirror. They'd know what students had seen it. But also the fact that if the mirror portal did malfunction in any possible way, it was out of prying eyes. Diana was still feeling confident in her answer... until Elaine mentioned the reason her teacher was here. She wasn't smiling but her frown grew more somber and sorrowful. Diana knew that. Knew that her teacher only wanted to protect her. "No..." she squeaked out quietly at that demand to know if she'd considered they. But Professor Kamuntu wouldn't... she trusted her Professor. "I trust her not to though." Trust would mean little in the situation most likely, but it was true. At the order to create a second-and not tell the Professor about it- Diana swallowed hard. She could feel it working yet but she knew it was. Her mouth felt dry from the intensity behind the command so Diana just nodded her acceptance (not that she had a choice in the matter.). She'd see this through. No hesitation. Like every other command Elaine have her.
Diana closed her eyes at yet another command. Elaine wasn't looking away, and the intense staring was making her squirm more then normal. Diana wasn't a self conscious or submissive person. Which was why this arrangement was so hard. To basically lose control of your very will... it was terrifying. And she knew that Elaine could do terrible things to her... and simply order Diana to be silent and take it. She couldn't stop anything that might happen to herself. And that was the most terrifying part. "Cara believes he worships the ground she wants on. He horribly bullied Kinsey. Peyton does what he says." she wanted to leave out this next part but couldn't. Her voice and words betraying one of her deepest secrets. Just how close she and Dominic were. "He is my best friend." they'd tried so hard to keep their friendship a secret something just for them. But Elaine had demanded information and she couldn't deny the dark lady. "I... understand." of course she'd take the consequences. Despite Dominic being Ondina's find it was Diana that would be held responsible. Maybe it was because Ondina was honestly loyal and Diana was forced. Or maybe because it was simply easier to make an example of someone who couldn't fight back.

Elaine cast a warning glance at Diana as she squeaked out that Zytka wouldn’t betray them. “What about next year Diana, when you’re not here, when she doesn’t have the ability to protect you anymore?” she asked her softly, circling around the Ravenclaw like a snake does its’ prey. “Or perhaps, when you’re not there to protect her,” she added, an unfriendly laugh escaping her lips. “It would be a pity if anything happened to her, wouldn’t it?” she mused suggestively, her shadow dancing in the candlelight. Elaine was silent for a few moments, just walking around the girl wordlessly. She could have cut the tension between them with a knife. She knew Diana would give anything to go back to that day with the soul magic circle, anything to cut the bind between herself and Elaine. But alas, there were no more TimeTurners, so she would have to do whatever Elaine commanded. There was no ‘or else’; Diana didn’t have a say in the matter. Diana was her puppet, Elaine the puppeteer, just like she was with so many others, only this one never talked back.
Elaine rolled her eyes when Diana mentioned her twin; she had never really been a fan of Cara to begin with, so she wasn’t surprised that she just assumed people worshipped her. Cara could never be like Elaine, she didn’t have it in her. Kinsey, well the girl had always seemed to be a sensitive sort, and the youngest three were quite vulnerable, being only fifteen. Elaine raised a brow when Diana described Dominic as her best friend. “And yet….you think he’d make a good asset to our cause?” she asked, momentarily amused. That must be an interesting dynamic, one that she was curious to see more of. “Why don’t you bring him along once you’ve completed the second mirror portal for me. Test the portal out first of course; recruit Ondina and Theodosia to help if necessary. Only when that mirror is secure you will send word to me to meet this Dominic here,” she instructed carefully. She wondered which disguise she’d start off as; perhaps she’d get a fresh new Mandrake victim to Polyjuice for this meeting.

Diana visibly began to pale. Not just the normal pale though, her skin actually paled due to her ability over her own appearance. Would Elaine do something to the Professor? Would her mentor be in danger once she graduated? Diana might have only known the older woman since third year, and their relationship hadn't really been more then constant pestering until fifth year, there were few Diana trusted as much. The Professor, in some ways, had become almost a second mother to Diana. And just like Professor Kamuntu felt she had to protect Diana, Diana knew she had to protect her. "Please... don't hurt her. I'll talk to her, I promise." Diana didn't dare turn to keep her eyes on Elaine as the older girl circled like a vulture, but she did look up and silently plead with her eyes when Elaine was in front of her.
The girl almost shuddered. She hated Elaine now knowing just how important Dominic was to her. She hated anyone know that. Their friendship had always been a well kept secret, something just for them. It felt almost... dirty letting someone else in on it. "I think he is talented, and vengeful. Traits you find useful." No, Diana wouldn't admit that she wanted him to be a Purifier. but the bound wouldn't let her deny what was already there. Traits about her friend that she already knew, and those were traits many of the other Purifiers shared. How she wished she could deny that too though.
Elaine hadn't put a time restriction on getting the mirror up and running but Diana wouldn't push her luck. She'd do as asked (not like she had a choice), and despite The loophole it was one Diana would not exploit. Not just for her own safety, but her mentor's. Despite having full control of Diana, It was almost as if Elaine had control of the tiny bit of freedom She gave the metamorphmagi. Mutely Diana nodded.

Elaine noticed Dianas’ complexion change; she really wasn’t good at controlling her Metamorphmagi power, was she? Such a disappointment. Elaine’s life would be so much easier if she had the born power the Ravenclaw had. She’d never admit she was envious of it though; that would give her a satisfaction that she could not permit. “Careful Diana, you need to learn how to control your gift,” she purred, her voice sing-songy with an edge. “You get like that when you’re nervous, and why do you need to be nervous around me?” she asked, her eyes glinting with malice. Diana would have to answer now, whether she liked it or not. Elaine knew when she interrupted the soul binding that their lives would forever be entwined, but she had not been able to dream how much control she had ended up having over the girl. Sometimes life gave one the most enjoyable surprises.
“As long as she continues to serve and obey, I will not have a problem. She can not like me as much as she wants otherwise,” Elaine said, carelessly waving her hand and rolling her eyes. She knew Zytka thought of her as a child, playing at being a bad girl, but the woman had no idea what Elaine was capable of. Zytka had no idea about what she was planning next. “Diana.” Elaine started, then smiled. “My dear friend will be coming by next week to...show you how to get things set up. You will be here no later than seven in the evening next Tuesday. She was more than happy to make time in her schedule to ensure everything goes smoothly, but I assured her you were punctual. So you will be here at that time, or you will be disappointed.” Elaine took a step closer. “Is that clear?” she whispered.

Diana felt her stomach sink, deeper and deeper until she felt positively nauseous. People had been telling her for years to control her power. She could. When she wanted to. But it felt so unnatural. It felt... wrong to force herself to change. She liked letting her appearance change depending on how she felt. She'd always just ignored these requests, brushing them off. But she couldn't now. The one person they could force her to control it had finally mentioned it. And it made her feel sick to her stomach. Forced against her will, she gave a small nod in understanding despite her mind screaming at her not to. At the next command though. Of why she was nervous around Elaine she sucked in a sharp breath. She couldn't fight the compulsion no matter how much she wanted to. "Because I know what you're capable of." she answered quietly. Far to well. Being forced to obey someone else's every whim and desire brought into perspective your own helplessness. You were completely at their mercy. "And I know you wouldn't hesitate." It wasn't just the fact that she knew what Elaine could do, to her and others. But the fact that Elaine would (and does) use that power without any sign or hesitation. That was the terrifying part. Elaine wasn't the forgiving type when it came to mistakes.
Diana barely managed to suppress a sight of relief at Elaine brushing off Professor Kamuntu. As long as her Professor cooperated she'd be okay... though she'd still keep a close eye to make sure her teacher stayed safe.
A string of commands followed. Diana knew what was coming. Knew what Elaine was planning. And knew what role she had to play in the plot. It only intensified the sickening feeling in her stomach, but she (thankfully) hadn't turned green and given away her discomfort. All she did was nod. "As you wish." she murmured back, unable to fight the building compulsion. There was no way to fight Elaine's command, no matter how much she wanted to. She'd be there if it was the last thing she did, that we'd just how powerful Elaine's control was. Nothing would stop Diana from seeing an order complete.

Elaine smiled, feeling triumphant at Diana’s words. “Good, you’re finally learning,” she said with a low purr. She knew Diana didn’t really like using her Metamorphmagi powers, she could almost FEEL how uncomfortable talking about it was making her. Elaine didn’t really care; the girl would simply have to learn to embrace her powers, especially when she got out of the castle and into the real world. “You’ll have to learn how to deal with your feelings on this Diana. How else will I be able to send you on missions for me if you can’t change how you look? If you mess up I don’t want them to be able to figure out who you are,” Elaine said, raising a brow. Of course if anyone ever screwed up on her missions, Elaine would typically kill them, but Diana was a special case she’d make an exception for. She was bloodsworn to her after all, the only person alive she knew wouldn’t hesitate in obeying her every command. Because, well, she didn’t have a choice in the matter.
Elaine watched Diana’s face carefully, smirking as the realization of her final plan came to light. Now the Ravenclaw knew just what was going to happen when the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang delegates left the Hogwarts protection, and Diana would be a part of the plan to make it go without a hitch. “You have a very big job Diana, and I wouldn’t want something to happen to you on accident,” she said silkily, plucking a piece of Dianas hair and curling it around her fingers. “I have done my research, and there are terrorist groups that would kill to take the blame for my plan, and I’ll gladly allow it. It’ll be beautiful, and the best part is everyone will think I’m still laying low!” She cackled, and dropped the piece of hair. She checked her watch and sighed. “I have some business to attend to. Remember the meeting time for next week with my explosive friend Diana. And as always, don’t tell a soul,” Elaine instructed. She turned to leave, but a few paces away she stopped and turned back around. “Remember, by any means necessary...or else,” she threatened, then left the hideout to attend to her….errand.

Diana sucked in a sharp breath. Of course Elaine was pleased by Diana's comment. Elaine was a twisted and sadistic individual. And Diana was bound to her...that way perhaps fhe most terrifying part. That Elaine could make her do anything, regardless of how Diana felt about it. Something like that... could eat at someone. Chip away at them. All Diana could hope for is that she could hang onto her humanity. "I can control it..." was her weak protest. She just didn't like to. She liked to let her power have free reign.
Diana closed her eyes, trying to ignore the growing nausea. She didn't want to participate in any of Elaine's plans. But this one in particular.... it made her physically to just think about. About what role she was being asked to play. Instead of speaking she just nodded. She understood. She'd obey. There was no doubt about that. But the by any means necessary made her open her eyes and look at the older girl, her lips pursed together into a thin line. She hated that. Because it meant her own will would be used against her. Because she really would use any mean to accomplish Elaine's goal. Would she really be able to hold onto her humanity while under Elaine's control?
