Drizella. was. bored.
Always, so, so bored. But especially so today. She'd actually fallen asleep in one of her classes, which made her late to lunch, which made her late to her next class.... And so the cycle went. Now though classes were out for the afternoon and she was free to take her boredom somewhere else for a couple hours. Maybe she'd actually find something interesting for a change. Wouldn't that be something? She'd spent an hour sketching on the grounds before a pack of first years had gotten to her and she'd decided to retreat to the Ravenclaw common room. She wasn't expecting it to be mostly empty though. Except for one person. One person that she actually liked and found interesting (most the time. There were still times said individual bored her.).
Kinsey Bainbridge. Dorm mate. Friend since first year. "Kinsey. Entertain me." Well, that was quite the demand, wasn't it? But not unusual for Drizella Blishwick.

Kinsey was in the common room. She didn't actually have anything going on at the moment. She wasn't quite sure where Riley was, but that was okay. She didn't need to be with him every second of every day, even though she might want to. Either way, he was gone now so she was trying to focus on her schoolwork while she could. So she'd been working on her homework for what felt like ages. She didn't even realize that she was alone in the common room until she heard someone enter. She looked up briefly and then felt herself smile. It was Dizzy. She and Kinsey had been friends for years and though the other girl could be somewhat ... difficult at times, they got along well enough.
She approached, demanding to be entertained and Kinsey laughed. "You actually think I can do that?" she teased, though she hadn't really expected much else. Before she actually tried to do as her friend asked, she needed to gauge her mood a little.

Drizella, in a rather flamboyant and dramatic fashion, flopped down onto one of the couches, and arm flung over the arm of the chair and a leg hanging off the couch. If there was a more exhaustingly bored position, Drizella didn't know it. Nor did she much care to figure it out. Either way, as she lay down she let out a loud, almost moody sigh. Kinsey was laughing at Drizella's display and it made the corners of Dizz's lips twitch just a little. She didn't smile much, but sort of smiling twitching? That she didn't have a problem with. Around friends at least.
As for whether or not Kinsey could entertain her... Well, that seriously depended on what Kinsey did, and just how sorrowfully bored Dizz was. Sometimes her boredom was so intense she was practically a hopeless case. "I'm desperate enough for you to try it." Was her answer as she closed her eyes and let out another depressed sounding sigh. Why did Hogwarts have to be so boring?

Drizella was very good at being dramatic, which was a point of interest to Kinsey. She always found it interesting how the girl could be so overwhelmingly bored by everything, yet be so dramatic about it. Maybe she was trying to entertain herself through her dramatics? Then again, that didn't sound quite right. Maybe that was just how she was? That sounded closer, but Kinsey still wasn't entirely sure.
As usual, Kinsey couldn't help but smile around her friend. Dizzy's bored attitude amused her to no end. "What, none of your classes were entertaining at all?" Kinsey teased, smirking at her friend. After six years with the girl, Kinsey was all but numb to her intentions, which were generally neutral. Dizzy was rarely trying to be cruel or particularly kind. Kins could deal with that.
"I could call Scuttle here?" Kinsey suggested, talking about her cute little pet owl. She wasn't quite sure if that would amuse her friend, but she was trying to think of something she'd never done before.

It wast that Drizella tried to be dramatic and bored at the same time. If just sort of happened. But only around people she knew and liked. If she didn't know you? She was like a dead fish, with the emotional range of one and an extreme lack of disinterest to the point of not even being able to make herself muster enough energy to react like a somewhat normal human being. So if they hadn't been alone in the common room? She probably would have sat down normally, all prim and proper, with the most stoic expression in existence.
"I fell asleep in one of them." Drizella slowly and dejectedly responded. Of course she didn't she ignored things that bored her, so everything had been in one ear and out the other. The only reason Drizella even passed her classes was because she had friends that did pay attention and her parents had promised her something. If she wasn't motivated to do something on her own bribery was the only thing that worked.
At the mention of the owl Drizella opened her eyes. "What about poor Salt and Pepper though? I don't want to have to replace them." Dizz's pet mice weren't with her, obviously, but the fact still stood. She didn't want her precious mice getting eaten by an owl. Though that begged the question as to why she even had a pair of mice to begin with... who really knew though, she'd just saw them in Diagon Alley before fifth year and decided she wanted them.

Kinsey couldn't help but snort when Dizzy told her that she fell asleep in class. "Of course you did, Dizzy," Kinsey responded. "How long were you out for? Why didn't you say something?" Granted, that morning her classes were with Riley so Kinsey hadn't been particularly focused on her friend. Oh, alright, she was plain distracted! She found it difficult to concentrate lately, with him nearby. She felt guilt start to gnaw on her, but Drizella didn't need to know about that.
Kinsey's mouth fell open when Drizella mentioned Salt and Pepper. "You know just as well as I do that Scuttle would never do anything to your mice. He's very well-trained," she answered airily. "I trained him myself and he does whatever I want him to." Alright, so that definitely sounded a bit arrogant, but it was true. Scuttle was all but an extension of herself. She cocked her head to the side as she looked at her friend. "Do you want to see? Would that be entertaining enough for you?" Honestly, Kinsey never knew exactly what would entertain her friend because Dizzy's mood changed immensely from day-to-day. It always depended on what was going on inside her head, which Kinsey couldn't always read.

Drizella rolled her eyes a little at the snort. Okay, was it really that obvious that she fell asleep in class? Especially when she didn't have someone to poke her awake every time she nodded off. "An hour I think. Hard to keep track of time when you are asleep." She answered, with a hint of sarcasm. She could be a very sarcastic person at times, and extremely blunt. But surprisingly, those traits hadn't scared of Kinsey before now. "As for saying something, I'll ask my subconscious to have me sleep talk next time." There was a bit more sarcasm in that comment. But it wasn't malicious. Drizella wasn't actually an intentionally mean person.
Kinsey's immediate defensiveness made Dizz's lips twitch again, and her eyes crinkled just a touch at the corners. Apparently her friend's reaction was actually amusing Drizella a bit. You didn't see that reaction from her otherwise. "How much experience have you had training owls?" She answered cheekily, intentionally trying to rile up her friend a bit more this time. It was always such a nice change when Kinsey got all huffy about something. She really wasn't malicious. Just like changes in pace, and huffy Kinsey was a change in pace.

Kinsey couldn't help but laugh a little more obviously when Dizzy rolled her eyes at her. She was used to her friend acting this way and while it was different than most people, she appreciated it. "Haha, you must have looked at the time when you woke up," she questioned, then doubted herself. "but you didn't did you?" Naturally, her friend wouldn't think to do something like that. She was probably too tired to look at the clock, or hadn't even thought of it. She gave her friend a fake glare at her next sarcastic comment. "I meant before you fell asleep Dizzy. I couldn't help you during the fact, unless I noticed it on my own." Which she wouldn't have. She was too distracted in class ... which might have been the real reason why Dizzy didn't say a thing.
Kinsey wasn't paying attention enough to notice that Dizzy was amused by her reaction, though normally that definitely was something Kinsey would have noticed, but she was too annoyed at the moment. "Just because Scuttle is my first pet doesn't mean that I haven't trained him well!" She argued. "I bet he's more trained than Salt and Pepper, and he's definitely trained well enough to not eat them!" She glared at her friend. Normally Kinsey didn't get so passionate about things like this, but she was annoyed now. Too much to notice that Dizzy was enjoying ruffling her feathers.

Drizella shrugged against the couch and closed her eyes. "My mind was on more important things than looking at a clock." that and it was a hassle. Why bother with it, really? It was just an annoying reminder that she should be working at someone else's pace and not her own. "You seemed a bit too preoccupied." was the only thing Drizella had to say in response as to why she hadn't told Kinsey. That boy made it awfully difficult to find moments alone with her friend after all. But, Dizz wasn't complaining. Kinsey had more than one friend after all, so Dizz had learned to share her friend.
Kinsey was really getting passionate about her owl and you could actually see the smallest spark of amusement in Dizz's eyes. She just liked seeing these reactions, liked seeing all the different sides of her friend. "Is be a vegetarian? Because otherwise mice are at the very top of his food choice. Are you suuuuuuure he won't try to eat them?"

Kinsey couldn't help but smile and shake her head at her friend. Of course Dizzy was doing more important things than looking at a clock. That really seemed right, though Kinsey was aware that her friend's version of "important things" probably didn't match with her own. For Dizzy, important things might be making sure she had a comfortable book to rest her head on ... or would that be too much effort? Kinsey wasn't sure. She shrugged when Dizzy said that she seemed distracted. "Was it in one of the classes we have with Riley? Do you know?" She paused a moment, "You know, you might actually like him if you give him a chance and talk to him." Kinsey knew that Dizzy didn't normally put up with lots of people- she found them boring- but Kinsey didn't have a lot of people she trusted either, so a part of her really wanted Dizzy to get along with Riley.
Kinsey's eyes narrowed at her friend. "No, he's not a vegetarian, but he has self-control. I have taught him that while he's with me, he only eats if I tell him to. Why are you having such a hard time believing that an owl can be trained?" She shook her head in exasperation. Why was Dizzy being so difficult?

Riley. Right that was his name. He'd told her it recently. Was he in that class though? She'd never noticed before. Well... obviously since Kinsey had been sitting with him. For some reason the connection hadnr been made until that moment. "I think it was charms. Is he in that class with us?" she asked quite seriously. The suggestion of getting to like him made her scoff and wave a hand in Kinsey's direction. "He bores me. Why would I want to get to know him better? Watching one of my uncle's sessions is more interesting." To be fair, her uncle's business was actually quite interesting. He ran the family match matching services. Her parents didn't play a role in the business now, but that didn't mean she hadn't spent plenty of afternoons at the shop.
Finally, and quite obviously, Drizella cracked a full blown grin. That didn't happen often, and when it did it was only when someone had temporarily broken through her incredibly thick shell of disinterest. Obviously it was usually only friends that ever saw such a loud expression. "It's not hard to believe. I just like how defensive you're getting about it." Dizzy finally admitted aloud to her friend, definitely pleased with how well she'd riled Kinsey up.

Dizzy seemed to need a few moments to process what Kinsey said and she watched her friend with interest. When she said that she thought it was Charms, her smile widened. "Yes, he has Charms with us," Kinsey answered, trying to not make fun of her friend. How could she, considering that only a few weeks ago she didn't know who Riley was either? "Sorry, I was probably distracted. I'll try to make sure I keep an eye on you," she teased. She rolled her eyes when Dizzy said that he was boring, though it wasn't really a surprise. Dizzy already knew who she was interested in and who bored her. It wasn't too much of a surprise that Rilely bored her, since she didn't even know his name. "Alright, fine," she said with a small shake of her head.
Then her friend was grinning at her and Kinsey started. She basically started to confess that she was trying to tease Kinsey about it. Well, she definitely succeeded at that. Kinsey glared at her friend and growled, though she wasn't actually angry. "I fell for it again," she moaned, annoyed at herself. Sometimes Dizzy got into these moods where she found something Kins felt strongly about and argued the other point, just to get to Kinsey. She should know better than this, to fall for her friend's teasing.

Drizella 'hmm'ed loudly as Kinsey agreed he was in charms with them. A few weeks ago she wouldn't have even considered the possibility he was in the class. If you didn't interest her you were as good as invisible. You didn't exist to her. The idea of her friend keep an eye on her though.... Dizz gave Kinsey a blank stare. "Why would you need to keep an eye on me?" she asked quite seriously. If the class was boring, why should she stay awake?
Kinsey's frustration and huffiness was always a nice distraction from her usual routine. The look she gave Kinsey a positively smug, quite proud of her tormenting. "You usually do." she answered back without hesitation.

Kinsey laughed at her friend's confused question. "To help keep you awake?" she asked. Wasn't that what the whole conversation was about? The fact that Dizzy fell asleep in class because Kinsey was too distracted to help keep her awake. "Unless you want me to just let you sleep ..." she trailed off, now teasing her friend a little bit, though she was almost certain Drizella wouldn't care. Her friend wasn't normally one to get worked up over things, which was one of the things Kinsey liked about her. Her intentions were rarely extreme, which made things easy on Kinsey's mind.
Kinsey made a face as her friend gave her a face that obviously said she was pleased with having ruffled Kinsey's feathers. She gave a slight glare at Drizella's words, "One of these days I won't. Maybe then I'll be able to get you." Doubtful, but that didn't mean Kinsey wouldn't try.

Drizella fixed her friend with a dead serious look. "...Why would I want to stay awake? If it's boring enough to put me to sleep, what's the point?" Dizz wasn't stupid but she also wasn't a classroom learner. She worked best with her hands, so classes like potions she did surprisingly well. But whenever any sort of theory got involved... well we all knew what happened.
An eyebrow raised as her friend's words. Kinsey get her back? Well... maybe. But Dizz wasn't actually sure that was possible. They were polar opposites in that department. Drizella was carefree enough that riling her up was a feat worth a trophy. Kinsey had the emotional capabilities of both of them so it was twice as easy to get her worked up. It might have to do with the six sibling thing though. Dizz had two kid brothers but she was several years older then them, which made it even harder for the boys to gang up on her. "We'll see about that." was her slow answer, though she was curious to see her friend try.
