Sept. 29th Phil had been acting strange lately, and Andy wasn't sure why. She didn't want to bother him about it though. He would tell her what was wrong when he was good and ready, as he always did. For now, she'd just continue to be supportive. That's what he had done for her for so long, right? She could return the favor... If she tried hard enough. It shouldn't be hard with Phil, though, the love of her life. She had just drooped Richie off in her dorm room before heading outside to find Phil. The little green guy was exhausted, and Andy knew he would rather rest righy now anyway. Somehow the two understood each other. It was nice to have a companion at such close reach. Still, companions needed breaks or they too would break. It was a shame that she didn't give Phil more breaks. She gave him space often but... Maybe not enough. She searched the courtyard first, seeing him -finally- up ahead. "Hey," she greeted sweetly, moving to wrap her arms around him. @philiplongbottom

@lestrange The sun shone through the clouds, the sky was blue. A warm breeze ruffled the leaves on the trees. The day was perfect. But the sun was a little too bright, the wind slightly chilled Phil when it blew through his sweater. he just wanted to go inside, sit next to the fire and not get up. But Andy wanted to meet out here, and so here he was. Outside, where the sun hurt his eyes. Andy found him quickly and moved close to him, her arms extended in a hug. "Hey." he said, dodging the hug by bending down to tie his shoe. I wasn't that he didn't want to hug Andy, it was just that when he did dream Andy seemed to superimpose over the real Andy. "What did you want to see me for?" He asked putting a smile on his face as she stood back up. He was trying to ground himself in reality. He was here, awake, she wasn't going to change into anything. He was safe. Andy was normal. She loved him. It was all okay. But he still didn't take her hand.

He bent down to tie his shoe and she lowered her arms. Weird. Then he looked up at her and asked what she wanted to see him for... "just wanted to be with you... the usual," she said, offering a soft smile. "I borrowed your sweater," she pointed out, gesturing to the one she was wearing. She chuckled, "they're usually a lot warmer than mine because you've been wearing it," she said affectionately. She reached her hand out to take his, "how was your day?" she asked. She personally didn't mind the cool weather. In fact, she preferred it to the heat. She was happy to be outside with the wind and the Spring air. It smelled nice, and fresh air always did her good.

@lestrange Phil froze, his muscles stiffening. His mind was at war with itself and it took him a few moments to react to anything. "Why... why would you take my sweater without asking?" was the only thing that made it from his muddled mind out his mouth. Even as he said it, his mind attached to that thought, clinging to something, anything. "Andy, you can't just go around and take stuff. I don't know what your parents taught you about taking other peoples things, but you are supposed to ask permission." He spat at her. Even as he said the words he could feel the wrongness of them. His eyes went wide, realization spreading.

What... She couldn't borrow his sweater? That was... Very strange. Not Phil like at all. The hope would be that Andy would find a way to lovingly respond. To realize he was struggling and find a way to appease him. But Andy was... Andy, and when he said those words to her- especially mentioning her parents- all she saw was red. "Well, excuse me for not being raised by your parents," she shot back, immediately regretting it. Wasn't she learning to be slow to anger? Then why was it so easy for her to be upset with Phil? Oh, because she was always her truest self with him. So, in that regard, it was hard to hide the insanity. The rage. "Here," she pulled the sweater off over her head and straightened her shirt underneath it, holding it out to him. "Now we're good, right?"

@lestrange It was amazing how much Andy's words stung. Or maybe it was the look on her face. Or what he had said and the shame was filling him. Why was this even happening? They didn't fight, at least not about stupid things like who was wearing who's sweater. Andy took the sweater off and held it out to him. Phil looked from the sweater to her face, trying to step out of the moment, to get away from his hurt and angry feelings. It took him several shallow breaths to made a decision and move. When he finally did move, Phil closed his eyes and shook his head. He brought a hand to his face, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Andy... I didn't mean it like that. I'm sorry" He let his hand fall to his side and looked at her. "You can wear it, It's not that big a deal." Why had he freaked out in the first place? He put his hand on the sweater, fingers brushing the back of her hand. "I'm sorry." He said, still feeling on guard but trying to control his emotions.

It felt like an eternity before he apologized, saying she could wear it and how he didn't mean it like that. But how could he say something so mean in the first place? What was wrong? She didn't ask, though, because in true Philandy fashion (yes, they had an adorable ship name) they didn't talk about the bad as much as they should to maintain a healthy, open relationship. They were too busy trying to protect one another. All the time.
Still, she shook her head. "I really don't want to... Just take I-" but then his hand touching hers and she swallowed hard. She brought the sweater close to her and held or against her chest. "Okay," she said softly. She didnt put it back on, though. Instead she just held it for comforts sake. "Wanna take a walk?"

@lestrange She almost rejected it, she almost pushed it away. For a terrifying moment Phil could see a future without Andy, a future where he and she went their separate ways. Forever. He smiled when she pulled the sweater against her chest. "Yeah, a walk would be nice." He said and put his arm around her shoulders. It didn't escape him that she didn't put the sweater back on. He was just happy she wanted to walk. And wasn't turning into demon Andy. That was always a plus. True, demon Andy only existed in him dreams. He wanted to tell her about the dreams, it would be so easy. "Oh, by the way I have been having these crazy nightmares and have gotten a total of 3 hours of sleep in three days, so if I seem a little on edge, that's why." So easy. But he couldn't bring himself to open his mouth. Tomorrow. He would tell her tomorrow. [End F1]

And so they walked, mostly in silence. Normally the silence with Phil wasn't that bad of a thing. It just meant they were enjoying each other's company without needing words. That was fine. But now... It wasn't fine.
-- F2 (May) --
A few days had gone by and they were just dping their regular routine, nothing special. Going to glass, studying, eating, sleeping, being with each other for most of it. Andy had avoided touching anything belonging to Phil, being the paranoid person that she was at times. Well, when it came to him. She also kept quiet for the most part, but that wasn't abnormal.
Today they were in the common room, studying at one of the tables. She felt like she had read the same sentence about one hundred times. There just came a point when staring at a page was futile. She looked to Phil, opening her mouth, but then closing it again.

@lestrange It wasn't that his homework was overly difficult, it was that his mind was overtaxed. He was frustrated, this assignment should have taken him at the most an hour. Here he was a week later still working on the same essay. Maybe if he had Andy read it she could give him some pointers... He glanced up at her, but she was reading. Better just let her read, she was obviously on a roll with whatever she was studying. Phil had always felt strong, and in control of at least parts of his life. But now, and over the last few days, he felt like he was walking on hot coals. It was his fault, as usual. Everything awful that had happened seemed to stem from some choice he had made. He went to Brazil, Andy went crazy. He spent time with Andy in the hospital. His Dad got sick. He didn't sleep, he and Andy got into a fight. It was all his fault. Why couldn't he just not screw stuff up? He ran his fingers through his hair, frustrated. A movement caught his eye and he glanced at Andy. She looked like she wanted to say something. "What? If you have something to say just say it." the words came out harsh, he hadn't meant them that way, but he didn't mean to do a lot of things.

He spoke and that reaction was exactly why she had closed her mouth. She grimaced at him. "It's nothing. Just bored with my homework," she responded flatly. "What is wrong with you?" she added. He was never money like this, but lately she was walking on eggshells with him. She felt like every breath she took was driving him crazy, and not in a good way. A part of her felt like she couldn't be mad at him, though. She had treated him worse than this in the past. Maybe he finally decided to pay her back for all the wonderful months where she had blown him off. If he had wanted to do that, though, he could have just ignored her while he was in Brazil. That would have done the trick. But Phil wasn't the vengeful type, unlike her, so why was he behaving like she was the most irritating person ever? Had she grown irritating to him? Sure, she was a little clingy, but she always thought he didn't mind that.

@lestrange Phil closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down because apparently that was something he needed to do now. "Nothing is wrong with me." He countered. "There is just a lot of homework to do and... it's nothing." he didn't meet her eyes. How could he? There was something wrong. Couldn't there just be one part of his life that was... normal? He and Andy, they could be normal, right? Apparently he had to screw everything up. Even Andy. "You should try harder on your homework. It is almost due." The condescending voice was not supposed to emphasize his words, but as he was coming to notice he wasn't completely in control of how he said his words.

He was closing his eyes a lot lately, almost as if he didn't want to look at her. Once his eyes opened again he wasn't even looking at her. She felt herself getting frustrated, clenching her fist under the table. The last time they'd fought she had boxed her punching bag for a good two hours afterward. She could already feel that coming on again. It was good therapy. She didn't say anything as he said nothing was wrong with him, that it was just homework. And, once again, that it was nothing.
She did not like being lied to.
Then he told her, or rather demanded of her, to focus on her homework. Was he... he was telling her what to do. Phil never told her what to do. She clenched her fists harder and took in a deep breath, "I'll work on it when I damn well please," she said, her voice incredibly low, almost a growl. She used one hand to slam her book shut and turned her whole body toward him, "now, if you don't tell me what's wrong right now then I am getting up from this table and not coming back until you do."

@lestrange Andy slammed her palm on the table. Phil looked at her. He knew she was dangerous, he knew what she could do. But it had never really seemed like a part of Andy that was real. He had never felt threatened by her. She was terrifying. Some people react to fear by shutting down, other run away. Phil tended to fight back. "If there was something wrong, I would tell you, Andromeda." Standing up as he said it. "I think I'll go study in my dorm." He grabbed his book and quill and turned on his heel, walking away, seething. He was fine. He didn't need her to baby him. He could handle this on his own!

Andy had never seen Phil look at her in that way he did for a split second when she slammed the book shut. He looked horrified. His eyes gave it away. But within a second it was gone and he was fighting back and standing. When her name came out, Andromeda, she caught her breath. He never called her that. At least, not in that way. She felt her blood starting to boil. He turned to walk away and she didn't stop him. Her hands were both shaking within seconds and she clenched them at her sides. She let out a short yell, not bothering to see how else was in the common room to hear it as she marched out the portrait hole.
---F3---
A week. It had been a week since Phil and her had fought about studying. Studying. Andy had been avoiding him a little, but not enough that she didn't sit by him in class and walk with him when she could. Still, they weren't seeing a lot of each other. It didn't help that they were in the middle of exams, too, so they were busy and barely able to focus on personal things, including one another.
Herbology had just ended, their last class of the day, and everyone was clearing out. It was pretty normal for them to hang around afterward alone but... she slowly headed for the door.
