Anna said she was glad she wasn't the only one pretending and Andy knew she was trying to be lighthearted, but she really meant it. Andy was that way, too, about all this. Anna laughed, saying that she was too focused on what she wanted to do for 'the rest of her life' instead of realizing that the rest of your life didn't have to be set in stone. "Exactly. The rest of your life is a lie people tell you to control you. You don't know how long your life is going to be, so there is no point in not doing whatever you feel like doing every second -- within reason, of course," she said. When did she start getting all these new age ideas about life, anyway? Andy was raised to believe that you follow a path, and that this path was set for you by someone else. Well, she didn't believe that anymore. Not even a little bit.

Andy continued on, explaining her point of view that Anna didn't have to choose a job that she'd want to do forever- none of them did. It was a freeing point of view, to be honest. She nodded, "I'll keep that in mind during my job search," she said, starting to smile a bit as she teased her friend. How did their conversation get so serious anyway? "Are you looking forward to graduation then? To being done with this place?" Anna looked around a bit, a tinge of sadness hitting her. She would miss Hogwarts. No matter where she went after this or what she did with her life, the school was almost like home. She couldn't believe they were about to graduate.

Anna said she would keep Andys thoughts in mind and Andy nodded, glad that Anna was smiling as she teased her. She asked if Andy was looking forward to graduation, to be done, and Andy frowned a little. She looked around the dorm room as well, her eyes resting on random things like a sconce, window frame or a book on someones bed. "I'm not too thrilled about not coming back... Hogwarts is, well, was the only real home I had for a long time," but then she had Neville and Hannah and Phil and her new home with the boy she loved and amazing new parents and an actual relationship with her sister... she smiled a little, looking back at Anna, "I think growing up will be nice. Change is good."

Andy frowned when Anna mentioned graduation and she honestly wasn't too surprised. After everything that happened with her friend over the last few years, Anna was sure that Hogwarts was the place where she felt most comfortable. Her thoughts were confirmed when Andy said that Hogwarts was the only real home she had. Anna nodded, agreeing somewhat with the sentiment. She had a home ... but it was a place where (as of late) there was more contention and arguing than peace. "Hogwarts will always be a special place to me," Anna commented in return. She smiled when Andy said that growing up would be nice. "It'll definitely be a little bit different. I'm going to try out the auror program for a bit and see what they have to offer, but I don't think I'll be staying there long." She didn't want to stress Oscar out and after everything that happened in the tournament she didn't want to fight her whole life.

Anna said Hogwarts would always be a special place to her and Andy sighed, smiling back at her friend. "I'm going to miss hanging out with you all the time, An," she said softly, even as Anna mentioned the Auror program. "There's nothing wrong with trying something and changing your mind. I... just wish that.. I don't know. It'd be cool if all of us could still live together," she chuckled, "but then that would be like school. But worse, because everyone would have their boyfriends and girlfriends over all of the time," she laughed again, then shook her head. "Where are you living this summer? Just with your parents?" she asked. Andy didn't know where she was living... what with her fighting with Phil and all. She wasn't sure if she and Phil wanted to stay at the Leaky together, or the manor, or separate, or be separate, or whatever.

Anna nodded when her friend mentioned that she would miss hanging out. "We'll have to make sure we still hang out together, even though it won't be all the time anymore," she answered. She knew that once people graduated, they often drifted apart, but that's not what she wanted for her relationships with her friends. She smiled when Andy said it was fine for her to try being an Auror and then change her mind. She laughed as Andy continued, "I know what you mean," Anna insisted. "I wish everything didn't have to change so suddenly." Anna shook her head when Andy asked if she was living with her parents. "No, thank goodness. Lucy has a place and she invited me to stay there with her. That will probably help my relationship with my parents a bit." Andy knew how Anna and her father fought all the time. She was one of the first people Anna told about it, in all honesty. "Where are you living?" she asked in return.

Andy nodded as Anna said they needed to hang out. Andy wasn't sure if she would have a lot of time for that. But, Anna probably wouldn't either. They'd find time. Heck, if they were both at the ministry they could do lunch and stuff. Anna said she was living with Lucy and Andy nodded again, smiling at that. At the mention of Anna's parents Andy frowned a little, "it's a shame that distance is sometimes the answer," Andy said, knowing that her and Phil... That might be their answer, too. "Probably the Longbottom flat in the Leaky," they were her family, after all.

Anna nodded, glad that Andy could understand the distance that she needed from her parents. It was nice to be able to tell someone and not worry that they would think she was a terrible daughter or judge her for something like that. Then again, she'd never had to worry about Andy judging her. Their friendship was better than that. She nodded at Andy's comment about distance, "Yeah, it is a shame, but it feels right so I figure it'll all work out." She nodded when Andy explained where she'd be staying. "Well, as long as we make sure we spend some time together, we'll both be good," Anna said with a smile. Then she sighed, "but I think I'd better be going now. I'll see you soon?" She gave Andy a hug and then walked away. She was late to a meeting with Oscar. --- the end --- @lestrange
