Teddy had suggested that Victoire talk to Odette on her own and she knew he was right. They had talked to Royal and now it was time to face the music. Odette. The other one who'd already lost so much. That was starting to be a theme with her friends. Hell, with everyone. It was pouring rain and Victoire had managed to find out what time Odettes shift at the bank ended. So, she arrived just a few minutes before that time and stood on the steps, looking up at the door as she waited for the brunette to grace the day with her presence. She felt like her heart was beating one thousand times a second. She had no idea what she was going to say or even do when she saw Odette. A part of her thought she may burst into tears, which was another common theme in her life right now. Or, she may just run up to Odette and kiss her, begging for forgiveness for being absent through all Odette had been through. Or, she may just not say anything at all. Whatever the outcome would be, she was totally and completely unprepared as she looked up, black umbrella in hand, waiting for those eyes. @odette (this thread technically should be taking place around April 28th but I didn't want it in the past board so shh)

Being back at work after such a long absence still felt weird. So many things felt weird these days. The void that both Jacob and their baby had left in Odette was mending, but there was an even bigger void left behind where her friends should have been. Royal had been through so much himself lately that Odette couldn't burden him with her own problems, but seeing him again had helped her in her healing tremendously. But Teddy and Victoire had seemingly disappeared. She so badly wanted to see them, and she knew that soon she could but soon just wasn't approaching fast enough.
With a heavy feeling heart, Odette exited the Gringotts bank for the day and found it to be raining. The Ravenclaw alum silently cursed herself for not bringing an umbrella and was about to step out into the rainy street until a pair of grey-blue eyes caught her attention. It took her maybe three seconds, tops, to register who those eyes belonged to; she could recognize them anywhere. "V-Vic?" She said much quieter than she had intended to. For a moment, Odette felt frozen to where she stood. Her heartbeat was steadily increasing and her breathing was quickening. Then, without warning she found herself flinging herself at the blonde and wrapping her arms around her best friend in one of the largest embraces she had ever given a person.

Vic saw Odette stop, but didn't hear what she said. She smiled up at her, her brows furrowed in distress and worry for her friend but also in love and admiration. Odette always looked beautiful, no matter what she was going through. Victoire had that talent too, she knew, but not to the extent her friend did. When Odette finally moved forward, Vic lifted her arms, raising the umbrella above them so she could accept Odettes hug with one arm and hold the umbrella with the other.
Vic turned her lips to kiss Odette the cheek twice, still holding her tightly. "I'm so sorry," she said, and she wasn't sure what else to say right away. She didn't think words were necessary for at least a few moments of holding each other, in the rain. What a cliche, aside from the fact that Vic was protecting them with the umbrella. She wasn't completely impractical, even in moments of heightened emotion.

There was such an overwhelming sweep of emotion swelling inside of Odette that she couldn't even try to hold back the tears even if she wanted to. When Victoire wrapped her arm around her, Odette let out quiet, but happy sobs and her cheek burned in the best way possible when Vic planted two kisses upon it. Maybe it was the emotional moment mixed with the rain, but she could still feel the spot where Vic had kissed her even moments passed after she had. "No, don't be sorry. It's okay," Odette said through her sniffs. She pulled away to look at her friend but left her hands on her shoulders; a habit she had picked up from all the hugging she had been doing in the last few months. "You're here now and that's all that matters." Odette wanted to pull her into another embrace and never let go. Hell, Odette wanted to kiss her she was so happy. But then Odette remembered that a part of Vic seemed to be missing today and she glanced to either side of Vic quickly before she asked, "where's Teddy?"

Odette said it was okay and Vic tried to nod, or speak, or something, but her muscles were broken. She couldn't even more. Then Odette moved away and Victoires muscles screamed in protest, her hand clutching the fabric at Odettes waist as to not let her escape. But Odette didn't get far, so Victoire loosened her grip a little. Odette said her being there was all that mattered and Victoire tried for a smile, her brow still knit together intensely. "Yes," she whispered softly. Gods, Odette looked so warm.
Odette broke eye contact, asking about Teddy and that pulled Vic out of her stupor. She pulled her hands away, holding more tightly onto the umbrella. "I'm just on my own today. He's around," she said, real proud of her ability to be vague. "Come have tea with me. Please?" she said, starting to walk backward. @odette
