The train ride to King's Cross was the beginning of the end. Some said that it was graduation that marked their first steps into adulthood, but for Cecelia, a diploma was just another piece of paper. It didn't matter that they had graduated - it only started to count when they set off into the adult world by themselves. For Cecelia, that began the moment she left the train. Her parents weren't going to be there to pick her up, and her sister and brother-in-law weren't due to arrive for almost another week, which mean that Cecelia was going to be embarking on her own. Well, not quite on her own. Cecelia glanced across the compartment at Grey, offering him a small, shy smile. It was strange, how new this all felt even though they had been technically dating for just over three months. Cecelia figured that it was good that it still felt new, because it meant that she wasn't rushing into taking everything too seriously. She couldn't fathom people who knew their significant other for only a few weeks and then were ready to marry them, or something equally crazy. Cecelia was hoping that her relationship with Grey lasted, of course - no one entered a relationship intending to end it - but at the same time, she wasn't going to build her entire life around him. He could be a part of her life - a large part, in fact - without becoming her whole life, and that would be a delicate balance to strike, especially now that there were going to be more demands on their time and they would be more than just a few hundred feet away from each other at any given time. "Are your parents going to be here to pick you up?" Cecelia asked softly, not wanting to break the silence of the compartment but also wanting the answer to her question. Grey had asked about whether or not her parents knew about their relationship, and in turn said that his didn't know either, which meant that if they were at the station... there might be some explaining to do.

@cecelia School was over. No more classes, no more studying, no more newspaper. He had graduated from Hogwarts. His second home inside the castle was long behind him, and the next time he visited it would be as an alumni, not as a student. Grey had never been able to picture what that would be like, what it would feel like. The time between packing up his belongings in his dormitory and stepping onto the Hogwarts Express was a blur and simultaneously in slow motion. There were plenty of times that he had hated being in the castle and had longed to escape it, but right now all he wanted to do was go back, even if it was for a few days. They had also been robbed of two weeks, and countless Durmstrang and Beauxbatons their lives. That wasn’t exactly the bang he was hoping to leave school in. The former Gryffindor felt like he deserved to be selfish in this instance, instead worrying about his own personal safety, and that of Addi and Cecelia’s, than of what had just happened to the foreign students they had all spent the last year living with. It was hard not to be on edge, especially with the insane amount of aurors and other security members that had been placed on the train. Somehow he still had managed to find a cabinet alone with Cecelia, albeit a small one. He was snapped out of his thoughts on what he would do if the train went down the same path as the other schools’ transportation had by Cece’s question. Blinking out of his funk, he stared at her from across the compartment. “I uh, I think so. After what happened last year when we got back, and then with everything lately…” Though if he were to be honest, it was probably mostly to make sure Addi was safe. He didn’t like to think that they hated him, more that nothing was ever done to benefit him. At least not anymore. “It’s strange. This is the last time we’ll be doing this. We’ve spent the last seven years leading up to this point, and now it’s here,” he let out with a sigh.

Grey had been lost in thought when she had first asked her question, and Cecelia smiled a little as she watched the focus come back to his eyes. It was weird how little things like that made her happy. He said that his parents were indeed coming to pick him up, and Cecelia’s stomach twisted uncomfortably. It was fine, she told herself. Just because she and Grey were exiting the train together didn’t mean that his parents were going to assume that they were together. And if they did, maybe that would be a good thing, because it was much easier to tell someone the truth when they asked for it. Telling his parents about his relationship might be a good thing for Grey, right? Except for then his sisters would be there, too (or at least Addi would), and who knew if he was ready to tell them that? Cecelia’s sister had gotten marry before Cecelia had really had the chance to get to know Bay’s husband, and that was weird for her, but it had been the right decision. Was hiding the right decision for her and Grey, too? Cecelia sighed internally. She wished she wasn’t so good at overthinking things.
Grey commented that this was the last time they were going to be on the train ride home, and Cecelia nodded. “Try not to sound so excited.” Cecelia said drily. She knew what he was thinking, though. Most of the seventh years had spent their entire school careers thinking about the day they would finally be free from Hogwarts, but not that it was here, it was nothing like what they had expected. Part of that was due to the changed circumstances – also known as the sudden explosions that had killed all but a handful of foreign students – but Cecelia had a feeling that even if everything had gone as planned, there would have been a sort of emptiness that came with having graduated. She knew that for her, it was strange because she had always envisioned graduating alongside her sister, but… things were different, and they just had to deal with the changes as best as they could.

@cecelia Grey chuckled at Cece’s comment. It was hard not being torn about leaving school. They may have been robbed of the final two weeks, but they had also been spared the torture of finals. He wasn’t sure he could reasonably say that not having tests was a great outcome, considering dozens of students had died to pull that off. There would probably be tons of regrets in the months and years moving forward – wishing he had played Quidditch, or been more proactive in class or clubs that didn’t focus on the newspaper. Maybe even that he could have met Cecelia and gotten to know her better earlier than he had. Reminding himself that all of those ‘what-ifs’ were useless now was difficult, but moving on had to happen. There were new things to get used to, like being a working adult, and getting paid. Having to sustain himself for the next unknown amount of years was a terrifying thought that was coming up fast. Those two weeks they lost were the buffer period until training started. That was set for later in the summer, since they needed to weed out those that weren’t actually mentally prepared for it. Grey assumed he was. That also gave him an ample amount of time to start wrapping up his animagus training. It had been a while since he had talked to Poe, and giving a status update to the auror sounded like a good idea. Those unfilled two weeks were going to be well spent, because that was all he had left until real life kicked back in again. “So what’s on the schedule now that we have a bit until work starts?” he asked, trying to divert away from school being done. That was how things were going to be from now on anyways. Astronomy could quite literally be done any night of the week, as long as there wasn’t cloud coverage. If only he could be as flippant with his auror training.

Grey asked what was on the schedule before work started, and Cecelia smirked at him. Maybe he had a to-do list before his training started, but she was in a different situation than him. “My work can start whenever I want it to.” She reminded him. Theoretically, she could start working that night if she wanted to – that was one of the perks of being sort-of self-employed. “But I need to find a good observation point first.” She relented. She had been planning on talking to the Astronomy professor about potential areas she could use to set up her telescope during the last few weeks of school, but since those weeks had been taken away and there had been other concerns, Cecelia hadn’t been able to have that conversation. Luckily, she had some ideas anyways – there were some locations in the English wilderness that were supposed to be good for stargazing, and Apparating was infinitely more convenient than hiking like Muggles had to do. Cecelia wondered if she ought to mention Zander and Braelynn/Bristol visiting. She still wasn’t sure how to go about mentioning that, since she hadn’t really talked about Zander before, and explaining how she knew him was just a downer for the people who didn’t know Bay was alive. ‘My dead sister’s ex-boyfriend’ just didn’t inspire warm fuzzies. “If you want, we could go on a day trip somewhere.” Cecelia wasn’t sure where they could go or what they could do, but since Grey had some unexpected time before training, they could make the most of it. Cece wasn’t sure if day trips were in the realm of their relationship, but if they weren’t… well, they were going to be eventually. “I talked to Addi the other day.” Cecelia mentioned, aware that she was moving the already-meandering conversation in a new direction. Cecelia only realized the blunder in that after the words were already out of her mouth – she had been trying to avoid talking about Braelynn, but that had been one of the main subjects of her conversation with Grey’s sister.

@cecelia The concept of having work starting at any given point was foreign to him. Everything was a deadline in his eyes (minus schoolwork and sleep), and the regimented schedule and hard start date of auror training was exactly what he needed in his life. Astronomy’s ability to be so unregimented was a foreign concept to him. At the same time, he was starting to become jealous of her. Being able to do whatever he wanted, work whenever, and still advance his career sounded unbelievably awesome. Going back to being an insomniac didn’t sound all that bad anymore. The problem was that it would never truly mesh well with how he worked, and he had absolutely no idea how to chart the stars, or what certain constellations meant. Finding observation points made it sound similar to researching a potential article topic, or staking out someone, both of which he could do without a problem. Comparing hunting criminals to counting stars was odd, but that was the only way he could put them together in his head.
“Anywhere in mind?” he found himself asking her, before coming up with an idea himself. The stereotypical ‘couple’ thing to do would be to go to Paris. Grey neither had the desire to do that, nor the want, and he was sure if Cecelia had wanted to go back to France, she wouldn’t have been working in England. There were always plenty of times to go their anyways, and finding something neither of them had ever done would make it better in his opinion. He wasn’t completely opposed to helping her find that observation point she had mentioned either. Then he would have a bit more of an understanding of what exactly astronomy entailed at a professional level.
Bringing up Addi was the last thing he had expected Cecelia to do. Especially in the context of having a conversation with her. There was no doubt that it probably lasted longer than any of his own conversations with his sister had for the past few years. They always consisted of whether or not the other got a letter from their parents, and what their decisions on said letter would be, or just a simple update on grades and classwork. It certainly didn’t feel like they were siblings, and more like they were coworkers that only communicated past the bare minimum when they were forced too. “Did she initiate it?” he found himself asking, curious about why his sister would want to talk to Cecelia. As far as he knew, they had never really interacted before, and the only thing that he could think of that would even garner a conversation between them would be something about him, as conceited as that sounded. He wouldn’t have been surprised if Addi found out about his relationship with Cece, but also didn’t want his sister going after his girlfriend because of other family matters. That was the last thing any of them needed.

Grey asked if she had anywhere in mind for day trip excursions, and Cecelia shrugged her shoulders. “Camping might be fun.” She mused. Camping was a nice intersection of both of their specialties – they could break out the telescope and stargaze, since most places that were good for camping were also good for stargazing, thanks to be far away from cities and lights and light pollution. But, there was also some level of roughing it that would complement Grey’s survival training as an Auror. Cece didn’t know if Aurors got survival training, actually, but it seemed like that sort of thing was necessary if they were going to be going on weeks-long missions. Cecelia cringed at the thought – she certainly hoped that her boyfriend wasn’t going to be gone for weeks at a time, at least not as a trainee. As for camping, though, it wasn’t so much a day trip as a day-and-night trip, though, which was a whole different can of worms as far as steps in a relationship. People were going to think all sorts of scandalous things… but only if they knew that the trip was happening, and considering neither of them had told anyone that they were dating, and they hadn’t even so much as kissed, Cecelia didn’t think anyone would be all that suspicious of her and Grey, or anything they did together. “There are a lot of forests in the north. I’ve heard those are good for stargazing.” She added. Forests were great for camping too, right? Considering Cecelia had never been camping, she didn’t actually know the answer to that question.
On the subject of Addi, Grey asked if the Slytherin girl had been the one to initiate the conversation, and Cecelia shook her head. “I’m not really sure if either of us actually meant to talk.” It had just started because Cece had lost control of a stack of fliers and Addi had happened to be in the vicinity to help with the cleanup. Cecelia supposed that she had been the one to talk first – asking Addi if she was, indeed, Addi – but the beginning of what would actually be called a conversation and not just pleasantries wasn’t as clear cut. There had been discussion about their respective clubs, and then about Braelynn, and then (perhaps the most relevant to her current conversation), conversation about Grey. “She asked me if I knew you.” Cecelia continued. “I told her I knew you because I gave you detentions.” She said matter-of-factly. At the time, the Gryffindor had thought that was a clever way of skirting around the truth, but she was curious to see if her boyfriend agreed.

@cecelia Camping did sound fun. He was pretty sure that had only ever happened once with his family, and it had been spent in a cabin instead of a tent. All the signs would have pointed to Claire or Addi having a problem with being outside in a tent, but it was actually their parents that decided ‘glamping’, or whatever it was called, was more of their thing. Sometimes he swore they were closer to muggle parents than magical ones. He knew it was because of his mum, and her muggle upbringing, but the odd mix of magic that was involved at times was mindboggling. Things were simultaneously made easier and more difficult because of their choices on how to go about a task. That and the constant pushing never ceased, even until the seconds before his final exam. The letter he had received that morning hadn’t even been opened, instead being blasted into a pile of ash the second his owl dropped it on him. There was no need the words of encouragement secretly laced with things he had to do during the exam. The façade that they were perfect towards him didn’t need to be maintained anymore, since he had made it clear years earlier that he wasn’t following their plans. Maybe it was all for Addi, or because he decided to go into auror training. Regardless, these thoughts were utterly useless now, and the idea of camping was a good one. It would help him escape his family for a while, albeit briefly. “Northern forests. Got it. I can try to scrape together anything we could use at home. Might be a small cooker lying around. Don’t know about a tent though…” This was obviously going to take more planning than he had initially thought. At least they had an easy method of transportation with magic. Things could be far more difficult.
Grey absorbed everything Cecelia said about his sister. Especially because their conversation had apparently entailed whether the latter knew the former. Clearly his sister knew him too well, because normally two students in the same year and house would know each other relatively well, to a certain extent. Grey, on the other hand had somewhat rejected those notions in the last few years, more concerned with his newspaper than the happenings of Gryffindor. The fact that a question like that even needed to be asked in the first place only proved that he had isolated himself from everyone else, and that it was apparent to his family. At the mention of the detentions, he let out a chuckle. “And detentions didn’t work, so the only way to fix that was to watch me even more closely. Make sure I didn’t do anything egregious,” Grey joked. “Though the Prefect’s bathroom thing was pretty bad, wasn’t it?” Reminiscing about that was a form of self-deprecation, wasn’t it? The good part about the interaction between Addi and Cecelia though was that it sounded like it was kept to small talk and didn’t go much past that. “To be honest, I’m surprised she hasn’t figured this out yet. Or maybe she has and is giving me the space to break the news. I don’t know…”

Grey agreed that the northern forests would be a good enough place to camp, and that he would be able to scrounge together some materials at his house. He mentioned a possible lack of tent, and the Gryffindor girl just shrugged her shoulders. “We’re magical, aren’t we?” Cecelia asked with a small smile. Even if Grey couldn’t find a tent among his camping materials, they would be able to make do with something. They could Transfigure some leaves into cloth and wave their wands until it stuck in a somewhat tent-like formation. If there was anything that she had learned across her school career, it was that just about anything was possible with magic if you had enough skill and enough gumption. Considering the two of them were Gryffindors, Cecelia was hopeful that they had the gumption bit down, and they wouldn’t have been allowed to graduate if they hadn’t had at least some skill, right? Cece was trying not to let herself get too stressed out about the whole idea. This was supposed to be something fun for them to do together, not another source of stress in an extremely stressful time.
Cecelia smiled when Grey said that detentions didn’t work, so she needed to watch him even more closely. “Yes, I decided the only way to keep you out of trouble was to become your girlfriend.” She said with a roll of her eyes. That would be taking her duties as a prefect to an entirely different level, and Cece didn’t think that anyone was that devoted to the job. Maybe her relationship with Grey had started as a purely professional one, between a prefect and one of her wards, but it had grown past that quickly… probably because of the meeting in the prefect’s bathroom that he referenced. “I hope that we never have to meet again in circumstances like that.” Cecelia said with a grimace. That had been… awful. Grey said that he was surprised Addi hadn’t figured them out yet, and Cece cocked her head to the side. “Why do you think that?” She asked. She didn’t think that she and Grey were all that overt about their relationship in the first place, and it wasn’t like they had even kissed… a thought that Cecelia wasn’t going to let herself dwell on, because it was extremely distracting to be thinking about kissing Grey when they were alone, and in close quarters.

@cecelia Grey nodded his head in agreement as she said that they were magical. That was true. But that was also a far cry from the camping he wanted to do. He didn’t think he was a purist when it came down to; no, more like a casual at the most. But he would still opt for a tent and no electricity over having a camper like a lot of muggles seemed to do these days. The two of them would be going out to some remote location though, so using magic would be fine and probably necessary at times. Cecelia had never done it before, and it had been a few years since he had last attempted camping. It couldn’t be that difficult on their own though, so in a sense, she was right. Their problems could be solved with their collective minds and wands. “Sure, but not for everything on this trip,” he said, wanting to be clear about it. If she really wanted to magic a tent out of thin air, that was fine with him. He was hell bent on roughing it like a true camper. For the most part.
“Well it worked,” he grinned at her from across the cabin. He would have never guessed that any of those warnings from her would lead to this. It had helped him get to know her better though, so there was that. He nodded his head again as she said she didn’t want to meet under the same circumstances as the prefect’s bathroom again. Honestly, that whole encounter could have been worse than it was. “Just lock the bathroom door next time,” Grey joked. It hadn’t mattered with the Prefect’s bathroom since he had overheard the password. “Problem solved then.”
The conversation shifted on to her asking why he thought Addi would know, or wouldn’t know, about them. “She’s observant. We don’t talk a lot anymore, but that doesn’t meant either of us are oblivious about the other. All she would have to do is ask another Gryffindor why I’ve been hanging around you, and she would probably get an idea and put two and two together.” He was sure that would be how it would happen too, if he didn’t tell her first. “That and I don’t have many friends outside of the newspaper. So being around a cute girl for the last few months wouldn’t go unnoticed with her,” he shrugged.

Grey said that they couldn’t use magic for everything on their camping trip, and Cecelia narrowed her eyes at him slightly. Intentionally trying to go without magic for any period of life had never really been on her radar due to her upbringing, and she wasn’t sure that she really wanted to try to do anything of the sort. But Grey wouldn’t have brought it up if it wasn’t important to him, Cecelia reasoned with herself, and if it was important to him then she had to at least make an effort. It was the same as with his Auror training – she wasn’t sure she could wholeheartedly support it, but she also wouldn’t spend the whole time complaining about how inconvenient it would be when she was up all night and he was up all day. Besides, since it would just be the two of them on the trip, then any magic she did would most likely influence Grey directly, too. If she made a tent, then they were both going to have to sleep in it, and if she used magic to cook their food, then they were both going to have to eat it, among many other applications for wizardry in camping.
Cece laughed when Grey said that her plan had worked. “I’m glad that it did.” She said. Even if it hadn’t been as intentional as they were making it out to be, Cecelia was glad that her decision to spend more time with Grey had done some good in her life. It hadn’t been how she had envisioned her future going, but that was the beauty of life, she thought – the most unexpected things gave the most joy. Grey said that the solution to her problems would be locking the bathroom door, and Cecelia chuckled again. “What if I enjoy handsome Gryffindor boys coming to rescue me from my sadness?” She asked, forcing herself not too blush too much at how strange the words sounded outside of her head.
Grey said that Addi was observant, and Cece nodded. She was sure that if Braelynn had been at Hogwarts, she would have been suspicious, at the very least, of the amount of time she spent with Grey. Grey was right in saying that just because people didn’t see each other didn’t mean they didn’t know what the other was up to. Gossip could travel fast in Hogwarts, which had been why Cecelia had been careful about where and when she was with Grey. To most, it would probably appear that they were just good friends, but Cecelia figured that Grey’s sister would have enough extra insight to realize it was more than just friendship. “Do you think she’ll care?” Cecelia asked. Some people got weird about their siblings dating people, and if Addi was going to be a rabid chipmunk about their relationship, she would rather know in advance. In any case, the question helped distract her from the cute girl comment, which was helpful.

@cecelia He would have looked at himself with a sort of disgust if this conversation was happening a year ago. There was nothing wrong with it now, but the fact that so much had changed so quickly, or rather how much he had allowed to change in that amount of time. There had a been a problem - his inability to accept that his antisocial tendencies were holding him back from any meaningful relationships with both friends and family – but it was on the verge of starting the process of being fixed. Cecelia was the first step. Whilst he had been hoping to mend things with his sisters first, clearly fate had a different opinion on how everything was supposed to go. Grey let out a small laugh as she came back with her own option for the next time. “Boys? As in more than one?” he joked. “I might need to get into better shape if I have to outrun them.” But getting in shape and exercising was what auror training was all about. At least he hoped it was. That had been what he had heard so far.
Cecelia’s question was a tough one to answer. It was Addi they were talking about, after all. Knowing his sister, a few things could happen. The first was that she would say that it was good for him and leave it at that. He had an inkling that the route chosen would be that one. The second would be the one where she thought he was an idiot; the whole affair between Claire and Cecelia’s sister behind those feelings. The final option was the scariest though. That was the one where Addi actively ignored him going forward. Their last conversation hadn’t exactly ignited anything spectacular between them, so regressing further from where they currently were wasn’t impossible. He supposed that each and every one of those held an equal share of possibility, maybe even mixed and matched a bit. Denial and acceptance was something everyone went through, and if Addi was forthcoming and happy for him dating Cecelia, he felt like that would be out of character for her. Then again, he didn’t really know her anymore and just tried to convince himself that he did. “I don’t know,” he said after a few seconds of silence. “Claire would be more vocal about it, or at least straightforward about her feelings I think. Addi is more difficult. Stubborn maybe?” Grey left it at that, because he honestly wasn’t sure. These were probably things he should have known as her brother, but instead he was always left guessing.

Grey asked about why her statement was plural, and Cecelia laughed a little. She hadn’t even realized that she had made the word ‘boy’ plural, which was silly, considering they both knew there was only one Gryffindor boy that she knew who she wanted to do any sort of reaction. Still, she was more than willing to tease Grey back. “That can be your motivation for training.” She suggested to him. Maybe it would be a little weird to think about chasing Cecelia around the track while he was doing laps, but the running theme in their relationship was slight weirdness. “Don’t worry, though. Even if the other boys get to me first I’ll wait for you.” Cecelia promised her boyfriend. It wasn’t like her choices of other Gryffindor boys were all that great – most of them had either dated or were currently dating one of her friends, and Cecelia wasn’t interested in messing up her relationships with her friends when she was already quiet happily romantically involved.
At her question about whether or not Addi would mind them dating, Grey admitted that he didn’t know. Cecelia wasn’t surprised by the answer, since the Slater siblings hadn’t ever given off the vibe of being extremely close. Furthermore, it was difficult to predict anyone’s reaction to this sort of thing, which was part of the reason Cecelia hadn’t made an effort to talk to anyone about her relationship. She’d rather have everyone be blissfully ignorant than have her friends resent her or think she was making a bad choice after she told them she was dating Grey. Grey said his older sister would be more vocal about her feelings, and Cecelia winced a little. Claire had been the one who had dispatched of Desirae, and that made her somewhat nervous that the eldest Slater would have some prejudices against her family, and would apparently be loud about whatever she thought. “Guess it’s a good thing I don’t have any sisters to tell.” Cecelia said. Desirae would have probably killed Grey if she knew. And Bay… well, Bay was still alive, but Grey couldn’t know that, so the point was rather moot.

@cecelia He smiled as she laughed about his need to get in better shape to beat the other Gryffindor guys. If this was actually a competition, he would have to muster his motivation for once in his life. What a scary thought that was. It would probably be exactly like the weeks leading up to him asking her out for Valentine’s Day. The constant nervousness and guessing of the million and one outcomes that would never happen. Sometimes he hated his thought process. On a more positive note though, it almost always prepared him for what would inevitably happen, even if it wasn’t what he had anticipated in the first place. That’s what their relationship was after all – he had thought it was going to be a colossal ‘no’. Maybe that had just been his nerves getting the best of him. “Merlin knows I’ll need it,” he responded, letting out a sigh. Training was going to be difficult, he could tell already. Blinking away the negative thoughts again, he grinned at her as she said she would wait for him anyways. “So I don’t have to run then? Thank god,” Grey said dramatically, but a little serious at the same time. Running sucked.
There was a reason he hated talking about his sisters. It was because he never had anything positive to say about them, even if they had good values or had done something amazing. That, and talking about them with Cecelia always left him feeling guilty. Even if the whole thing between Claire and Desirae was beyond either of their control. Even if it was Claire just doing her job. Being able to be upset at his sisters openly the way he always was felt like he was bragging to her sometimes, whereas she couldn’t do the same thing. Unloading stupid, petty problems on someone who had lost siblings had to be wrong. “Guess it’s a good thing that I don’t give a damn what either of mine think,” he responded. That sounded right to him. He had never really cared what Claire had to say to him anyways, since it was always her way or he was absolutely, unequivocally wrong. Being treated that way made it increasingly difficult to care, and he wasn’t about to bend to her will because of her thoughts on the Rousseau family.

Cecelia gave Grey an amused smile when he asked if he didn’t have to run. “I never said that.” She responded cheekily. “In case you haven’t noticed yet, I’m not exactly the kind of person who sits still and lets people sweep her off her feet.” Cecelia had wanted to be like that, once, because that would have made her the perfect pureblood and the perfect daughter, but she had shed all those expectations like a snake losing its old skin, and now she was something different and new. Someone wild, who didn’t wait for Prince Charming – but somehow managed to find him anyways. True, it wasn’t exactly congruous with her example about handsome boys finding her in the bathroom, but Grey would be smart enough to realize that she had changed the context slightly. They hadn’t made him editor-in-chief of the newspaper for nothing. “You might not have to outrun anyone else, but you still have to catch me.” She said with a bright smile. Running wasn’t her favorite activity, though, so needless to say, Grey wouldn’t have to go all that fast to catch her. Besides, hadn’t he already done all of that anyways? Their relationship hadn’t exactly begun with a chase, though. It was just the slow pull of gravity, until they found themselves in each other’s orbits, unsure of how to escape, but not really wanting to either. It wasn’t typical, but typical didn’t matter.
Cecelia smiled again when Grey said that he didn’t give a damn about what either of his sisters had to say about his relationship with her – or anything, she presumed. “…And your parents?” She asked, almost afraid of the answer. “I’m not going to tell mine.” Cecelia announced. “They’re still probably trying to figure out if they can marry me off to someone.” She added with a roll of her eyes. One of the only good things about her parents being in France was that it wasn’t feasible for them to learn every detail of her life. When her sisters were still around, they could get all the information they needed to, but now that Cecelia was the only one, the parents Rousseau only knew what she chose to divulge. Needless to say, her relationship with a halfblood was not going to be one of those things.
