Graduation day. Not for Riley. Nope - the Ravenclaw had one more year to sit around the castle, taking in as much knowledge as he could before he was shoved out into the real world to work and make his own way. The way that the year ended was not ideal, and it was just as devastating, if not maybe more so, than the way that last year ended. Riley would much rather have sat the exams than be going home early now. But, before he went home, there was Graduation, which of course he wanted to stay for. He had friends that were leaving after today, friends that he would never be at school with again. Dominique Weasley, was one of them. Dom had been one of his very best friends, someone he could tell everything too. Someone who understood him and who he understood. Someone who would easily joke with him and laugh with him and just hang out with him. He knew that she hadn't had the easiest year, but this was her graduation. She'd be leaving the castle. He waited for her after the ceremony to give his friend a hug and congratulate her.

Graduation. Dom could hardly believe it was here. Was she really about to graduate and leave Hogwarts forever. At least, forever unless she decided to try and become a professor someday. No, that probably wasn't something she could do. Dom didn't have the patience to teach others, and she wasn't sure she wanted to come back like that anyway. She couldn't teach others, unless it was flying or something. Once the ceremony was over, she moved to leave the area when she saw Riley nearby. She couldn't talk right now because her emotions felt so confusing and conflicted, but she could do with one of his hugs and if he wasn't busy, she would probably just spend the afternoon with him if she could. She could hardly believe she was graduated. Her time at Hogwarts was done.

When Riley saw his friend after the ceremony, he walked over to her, a soft smile on his face. It was such a somber day, but also it was a happy one. She and everyone else at the ceremony was graduating, they had done it. They had concluded their magical educations and that was something that should truly be celebrated. But it was also, for some of them, the last times they would be at the castle or even see some of their friends. It was a day on which many couldn’t help but remember the foreign counterparts that would never see their graduation day. While Riley hadn’t really gotten to know, or even really talk to, any of the visitors, he knew that many of his cohorts had and were mourning their loss on their own graduation day. “Hey friend.” he greeted the Weasley girl as she came into range. He hugged her. Happy to see her, he hadn’t managed to see her over the past few weeks, which he regretted, but he had been so busy, as had she. Last he knew of her life, Ethan was back as a ghost, something he had still yet to encounter. “Look at you. You did it.” he said softly as he hugged her.

Dom was glad when Riley pulled her into a hug right away. She returned the embrace, smiling when she realized that she seemed to have a gift for making good friends that were guys. Ethan, Riley, Seamus. They were her closest friends, but she wouldn't change that. "Hey," she muttered back as he hugged her. He made some comment about how she did it and Dom laughed into his shoulder. "Yup. It's a miracle," she said. Of course, she always knew she was going to graduate, but it still felt surreal that it was happening now. After a bit, she pulled away and smiled at her friend. "How have you been, stranger? Spending all your free time with that new girlfriend of yours?" she teased. Dom couldn't help it. She was in a sad mood, which meant she was going to do anything she could to lift it. Teasing friends was one way to do that and she knew Riley would be a good sport about it.

She hugged him back, saying it was a miracle that she had graduated. He rolled his eyes, he knew Dom was smart, he knew Dom would have graduated, there really wasn’t a doubt in his mind, and he didn’t think there was ever really a doubt in her mind either. “You’re all grown up, time flies so fast.” he teased with his arms still around her. “I remember when you were just a wee 2nd year.” of course, at that point, he had been an even smaller 1st year. He was still shorter than her back then. Oh how she must have missed that. She asked where he had been for the last few weeks and then asked if he had been with his girlfriend, which he nodded to. He hadn’t meant to put off hanging out with his friends, but he knew that Kinsey needed him and they were still in the Honeymoon/early phase of their relationship and loved spending as much time together as they could manage, especially since they would no longer live so close together once the summer started. “Sorry - but that doesn’t mean I forgot about my original girl-friend.” he said, teasing a bit again, making the difference in the way he said girl-friend very noticeable. “Am I keeping you from anything? Do you need to find your family or something?” he asked, not wanting to hog the graduate all to himself.

She knew that he was teasing her as they hugged, about being grown up and a small second year. Dom grinned. Of course Riley would make sure she was enjoying herself. That was just the kind of friendship they had with one another and right now she was grateful for it. Maybe he'd be able to pull her out of the mood she was in. He apologized when she asked how he was and if he was still spending all his time with Kinsey and she rolled her eyes at that before speaking. "Of course you didn't forget about me. I'm too amazing for that." Dom tossed a lock of her hair behind her shoulder dramatically. Then she looked at him a little more seriously, but not much."Besides, I wasn't asking for an apology. I asked how you are," she pointed out, teasing him back since he was teasing her. She shook her head at his question. "No, you're not keeping me from anything. My family is used to me disappearing from things like this," she gestured around herself and made a face, "and I already saw them a few minutes ago. Are you busy for the afternoon or do you wanna spend some time with me?" For the last time ... no, Dom didn't want to think about that right now. She wanted to have fun with Riley before thinking about leaving.

Riley couldn’t explain why he got along so well with the Weasley girl. But he always had. Since the moment he met her he knew that they were going to be good friends. She was dramatic and loved having fun, and while he was normally a quiet, observer, when it came to spending time with Dom, he found himself up for almost everything and willing to be loud and dramatic himself. She brushed her hair back when she said she was too good to be forgotten, it was true, as far as he was concerned, but he was a good guy who loved making people feel like they were the best in the world. “I’ve been good.” he nodded with a smile, not wanting to make it all about him when she was the one who just graduated. “I’m all yours.” Riley shook his head when she asked if he was busy. He didn’t have plans. He had already finished his packing and he was sure that Kinsey was busy with her siblings and family who were around for graduation so he didn’t have to worry about her, except for the fact that not all of her siblings were nice to her, but he figured with everyone around they would all be civil at least. “What do you want to do?” he asked, it was her day after all, they were celebrating her.

Despite the fact that Riley was a year younger than her, Dom felt like the two were very close friends. Not as close as she and Ethan had been, but even while she was friends with Ethan, she still took time out of her day for the younger Ravenclaw. He was sweet and always up for a little bit of adventure when she invited him along, which was fascinating to her. Dom loved how some people would do things all on their own and others needed to be encouraged to tag along. She laughed and rolled her eyes when he answered her question by saying he was good. "Wow, that's descriptive," she teased. He said he was all hers and Dom grinned, grabbing his hand and started pulling him away from the group gathered for graduation. It was a fine ceremony, but now she was in the mood for some fun. If anyone saw her pulling him around ... well, no one would think anything of it because she was almost always dragging people into her schemes. "Great!" She chimed enthusiastically, looking around herself as she tried to make up her mind about what they should do. Then he asked the question she was already thinking about and Dom shrugged, releasing his hand to make a gesture that said "I don't know." She glanced around them and then moaned. "I can't think of anything. You have any ideas?" She wanted to do something different, unique, but absolutely nothing was coming to her mind at the moment. Hopefully Riley would have some ideas ... even if they didn't do any of them, maybe it would give Dom a good idea.

Riley Fudge rolled his eyes and gave a scoff when Dom insisted that his description of how he had been was descriptive. There honestly wasn’t too much to report. Things were going good with Kinsey, but that was about it. And she had probably already heard about Kinsey since most of the school knew that they were dating by now. However, when he told her that he was all hers for the day, she drug him away from the crowds to someplace a little quieter. Riley didn’t really have anyone else to congratulate. Most of his friends were in his own year or had graduated last year. She admitted that she couldn’t think of anything for them to do and asked if he had any ideas, he was sure he could think of something for them to do, however, he wanted to clarify the reason he asked before he suggested anything. “Okay well think about it this way… this is your last few hours at the castle… what have you always wanted to do but never did because you thought you’d get in trouble or it was too crazy?” He asked, trying to get her to dig. He knew that Dom was a free spirit anyway, and liked to do crazy things, a lot of the time with him, but there had to be something, didn’t there?

Dom couldn't help but laugh hard when Riley asked her to think about something she'd never done before that she always wanted to. It was cute how so many people underestimated her, even the people that knew her as well as Riley did. She looked over at him and grinned. "How well do you know me, Riley?" she teased with a smirk. Then she decided to explain a little. "That's not how I work. When I want to do something, I do it right then and there. No exceptions." She shrugged, chuckling again. "I managed to make it through seven years without getting kicked out, so maybe I haven't done anything too crazy, but I haven't held back." Dom winked, then lifted a hand to tap her chin. "But you're right, we should make it something fabulous." She thought, trying to come up with something that would be fun. Then she had an idea. She glanced over at him, a mischievous grin covering his face. This wasn't a major thing, but it was something she hadn't ever done before. "What'd you think about getting some picnic dinner from the house elves and sneaking up onto the castle roof somehow. That way we can eat and have a fabulous view of the sunset." And the stars, if they decided to stay out longer. The trick was going to be finding a way onto the roof. It was basically the only part of the castle Dom had never explored before. Mostly because the thought never occurred to her before now.

Riley had learned to never underestimate Dom, and he never did. Honestly, when he saw or heard or something crazy happening or someone getting in trouble, his first thoughts often went to whether or not his friend had been involved. The part-Veela had done more in her 7 years than most people had even thought about doing. More than what he had thought about doing, at least. In all his time as a Hogwarts student, he had never thought of trying to find the roof of the castle. He wasn’t even sure that the castle had roofs. He knew there were towers, obviously, since he had been on them and climbed them for classes and for access to the Ravenclaw common room and dormitory. But, at least from the look of the castle from the outside, the roofs were mostly pointed and would be hard to get onto. There had to be a way, though, and he was sure that if anyone was going to find a place for them to go, it would be Dominique Weasley. “Okay! Let’s do it!” Riley agreed. The house elves knew him fairly well, and he was sure that they knew Dom too, so securing the food wasn’t going to be tough. With a nod of his head towards the castle Riley lead the way, taking the first steps on his last Hogwarts adventure with his best friend.

Riley agreed to her idea. Of course he did. Dom squealed and kissed his cheek before grabbing his hand and dragging him back up to the castle. "Okay! First things first, let's get some food from the kitchen." She started down the stairs and found herself in the kitchen within a minute. "Is there anything specific you want?" Dom asked Riley as she turned to the elves and asked them to pack the two of them a dinner in a picnic basket. She couldn't care less what was in it. This was Dom, after all.
Minutes later, they were headed up the stairs again, picnic basket in tow. She turned to her friend, narrowing her eyes slightly. "I think we should probably go to the common room and get jackets or something," she commented after a moment. "I honestly cannot tell you with certainty how long I'm going to want to hang out on the roof once we get there." Which could get cold if they stayed out past curfew. Of course, if they did she'd take extra precautions not to get Riley into trouble, but she didn't care about trouble anymore. Dom was golden. They arrived at the common room and she grinned at him. "Meet me back here in two minutes. Don't be late, or you'll regret it!" She teased with a laugh before bounding off to her dorm. It took Dom ab out 15 seconds to grab a jacket and leave, and she was back to the common room door in less than a minute, waiting to see if Riley would make it in time or not. She was so excited.

Riley and Dom made their ways to the kitchens and convinced the house elves to spend them away with a picnic basket, which they were happy to do. Especially with today being the last day that students would be at the castle all summer, Riley had a suspicion that they were especially eager to serve since they would have little to do for the next few months. Basket in hand the two Ravenclaws started a course up the castle stairs, Riley had no idea where to go to get to the foot, but going up seemed like a good place to start. “Sounds like a fair idea.” Riley Fudge agreed to the idea of getting jackets in case they were out too late. They got inside the common room and Riley found himself face to face with a challenge, 2 minutes to grab his jacket and meet her back down here or he’d regret it. What exactly he’d regret, or what would make him regret it, he had no idea of. And there was good possibility that Dom was just pulling his leg, however, a challenge was a challenge and Riley was almost always up for a challenge. “Deal.” He nodded. It only took the young man about 30 seconds to grab his jacket and make it back down, by the time he came back out into the common room, he saw his counterpart already having made it back too - but just by a hair, it seemed. “Did you doubt me?” he asked, a cocky smirk on his face.

Riley was going along with her. Dom wasn't entirely surprised, since he was normally pretty good at going along with Dom and doing things the way she wanted ... she probably wasn't a very good influence on him, but she was okay with that. They weren't doing anything too dangerous. He agreed to her challenge and soon enough she was standing by the door, watching him approach her. Her eyes widened slightly. He almost beat her? She smirked at his question, "Of course I didn't doubt you," she teased. "I didn't think you'd almost beat me though! I'm proud of you." Dom nodded approvingly before opening the door behind her. "Now let's get out of here." She started walking, assuming that he would join her. "Think we should try from the astronomy tower? Or do you have another idea?" Even though this was Dom's idea, she definitely wanted his input. Riley was smart, maybe he'd have a better idea than her.

Riley smirked as well when she admitted that she didn’t think that he would almost beat her, to be honest, he hadn’t thought that he would almost beat her either. He was feeling pretty playful today, however, and was up for the challenge, and for the idea of being pushed slightly by the Ravenclaw girl. “I’ve gotten better over the years.” he admitted with a playful shrug. “I’ve had a lot of practice.” this wasn’t the first time that Dom had proposed a crazy scheme that she wanted him to tag along on. However, it was sad to think that it might be the last. At least, the last one while they were kids and at the castle. Who knew yet what adulthood would bring them? They continued back through the door of their common room. She suggested the Astronomy tower and he nodded along, it seemed like a fine idea, however, he couldn’t recall if there were any roofs around the tower, maybe there was something they could climb to nearby. “I think it doesn’t hurt to try.” he agreed. They made their way to the tower.
