Addilyn was staying with her sister Claire for the summer. She was at her place in York now, getting all settled in. She didn't know why her sister commuted into London every day instead of just living there... but she did get to apparate so that made it about one hundred times easier. It was kind of nice for Addilyn to have some space from everyone right now, though she missed Adrian and Edmund and was sure she would try to see them soon. But, for now, she was going to spend some time with Claire. It beat being home with Grey and him asking questions. Her and Claire had always got along, though, so it wasn't surprising that she'd rather be here. Claire Evangeline Slater

Claire wasn't really sure why Addilyn had wanted to stay teh summer with her instead of their parents. Maybe it was some form of teenage rebellion, as if living back at home was too embarrassing. Regardless of the reason though, Claire had agreed to the idea. It could be nice to have some company in her flat. Claire wasn't the sort to have flatmates, so the change could be good for her. Besides, their parents thought it was a grand idea, and Clarie still had a bit of a problem telling them no to something. Despite already going against their wishes and changing careers. It was a hard habit to break.
Claire sat on the couch, flipping through the Daily Prophet and listening to Addilyn unpack her belongings in the spare bedroom. It'd been a year since Casey's death, so it was.. unnerving to hear someone else in her flat. She'd grown accustom to the silence. But for her own sake, she knew it was best to not isolate herself so much. "Did our parents give you the gold for your school supplies?" Claire called out eventually to make some sort of conversation as she turned the page and began skimming the next article.

Claire called out to her, asking about the gold for her school supplies. "Yeah," Addi answered, setting down what she had been unpacking and coming out into the sitting room where Claire was. "I was thinking of going shopping later in the week... how is work?" she asked. She didn't know that much about Claires work a the moment, she didn't even know if Claire had officially switched jobs or not like she had been thinking of doing. Addi hadn't been incredibly talkative this semester, and Claire wasn't the most talkative person anyway so without Addi to start it there hadn't been an excessive amount of conversation between the two of them. Claire nodded as her sister came out and answered her question. Good. That would save her from having to get the funds from their parents. Addilyn was old enough that she didn't need their parents to accompany her in her school shopping, despite what they might think or feel on the subject. Besides, the teenager would probably want to do her shopping with friends, as most her age would. The question about her work made the blonde look up in surprise. Was this just normal small talk, or was Addilyn actually curious about work? She'd never spoken much about work with her family, so she wasn't actually sure what Addilyn wanted to do after graduation... "Work is going well." She answered after a moment, unsure just how much information her younger sister wanted on the subject. "They've been keeping us quite busy with the influx of foreigners." She added, just in case Addi was curious.
