Eleanor had of course, won a date with the man of her dreams, Cyrus Ellsworth during the charity auction in support of the Elias Greyback fund, or something like that. She had not, however, counted on getting into a bidding war with Callisto Oliviera of all people! Fortunately, Ella had just gotten her bonus from her work with the Triwizard Tournament, so she had been able to defeat her rival in the end. Still, Eleanor was feeling charitable, and since the Arrows were bankrolling their dinner, why not make it a meal for three? She hadn’t expected Callisto agree to it, so when she did Eleanor knew she would have to dress to impress. She showed up at the fancy Italian restaurant that had been chosen for them before Cyrus or Callisto got there; she was known for her punctuality, and besides she wanted to ensure there was nothing wrong with their reservation. Of course, there wasn’t so she walked back outside in the warm, May evening air wearing a beautiful maroon mermaid style strapless gown and Christian Louboutin heels. She checked her slim watch she always wore on her wrist, wondering if her boyfriend or Callisto would be arriving first. @callisto @cyrus dressy

Callisto didn't know why she agreed to go with Eleanor and Cyrus. She had only bid against Eleanor to be funny, really, a little practice for this joking stuff Shawn was telling her about. Really, it was just fun to watch her squirm. but, El decided to be nice and invite Callisto to a nice Italian dinner with them. She would have said no but... Callisto was a sucker for one, and there was no doubt some amazing wine at this restaurant. So, she agreed. Plus, it could be kind of fun to catch up with old Cyrus and Eleanor, even if the girl and her weren't exactly best friends. She wore a long black dress with an open back in a V shape, stopping at the point halfway down her spine. She curled her shoulder length hair a little, but not much. It looked nice and loose, two things that she was not. She arrived at the restaurant, seeing Eleanor was the only one there so far. "Thanks for the invitation, El," she said with a short nod of greeting. @eleanor @cyrus

Of course Callisto arrived before Cyrus; both women had always been punctual in their youth so it was no surprise that hadn’t changed in the years after graduation. She looked gorgeous, but Eleanor would never admit that out loud. “Oh it was no trouble at all Cal,” Eleanor replied airily. “I figured it was the least I could do seeing as you were going to spend forty-five Galleons on my boyfriend,” she added. Of course, Ella would never have allowed that to happen; she was quite sure that Callisto had done it just to get a rise out of her, and it had worked. It was for a good cause however, so Eleanor had not minded spending her hard earned Galleons. This dinner would be worth it anyway; she had never gone here before, but she had read dozens of reviews, all of them glowing. “Cyrus needed to wash up at home first, then he’ll be right over,” Eleanor told her, checking her watch to ensure her boyfriend wasn’t late. He still had about ten minutes to show in order to be on time, and knowing him he’d be right on time. “It’s too bad you don’t have a significant other Cal; I hope you don’t feel too much like a third wheel tonight.” The backhanded statement came out of Ella’s mouth before she could help it - she supposed Callisto’s presence just brought that side of her out to the surface better than anyone else. @callisto @cyrus dressy

El said it was no trouble, and Callisto knew that it wasn't, and that was irritating. She was just a sidebar in Eleanors rich lady life, that was clear. El spoke of the auction and how inviting Callisto was the least she could do. Cal rolled her eyes, "I never actually thought I'd win. Just was testing you," that was the truth, really. Cal didn't have fun often, but when she did it was usually well thought out, like this was. "Plus. Good cause and all," she added. El said Cyrus would be over, mentioning how Callisto didn't have a significant other. Cal felt her stomach church slightly at that. She didn't ever think she needed a man. But it would be kind of nice to have a certain someone there with her. A certain someone who had a way of making any situation seem fun and not as difficult. She shrugged, "awe, well, I'm quite picky so I'm sure I'll take my time before settling," she replied firmly. @eleanor

The charity auction had, of course, been good fun. Cyrus had not expected so many people to turn out to place their money down for dates with his fellow Quidditch players. But it was all for a good cause and that was enough for Cy. What was surprising, however, was Callisto Oliveira betting on Cyrus first. Cy knew that would certainly get a rise out of Eleanor, and sure enough moments later, there his love was bidding for him too. The two had ended up in a sort of bidding war, it seemed, before Eleanor came out on top. Cyrus thought what Eleanor would have done if Callisto had won, but was very happy his girlfriend had won. And in the name of charity, too!
In the end, Eleanor had ended up inviting Callisto to their date. Cyrus didn't mind; he was never one to turn down company with people he considered friends or friendly acquaintances. Plus, he liked Callisto enough and thought tonight would be... fairly interesting considering the relationship Callisto and Eleanor had. But Cyrus looked forward to it nonetheless.
The Quidditch player showed up just in time, with only two minutes to spare he realized, as he checked his watch. He was in a gray suit with a purple tie and lapel, wearing a smile as he approached both ladies. Automatically, his arm wrapped around Eleanor and he gently pulled her in to plant a gentle kiss on her forehead before looking between the two of them. "You both look lovely tonight," he commented. "I'm sorry I'm the last to arrive. Practice tonight was something else," he shook his head.

Eleanor opened her mouth to say something snarky; for some reason things Callisto said she happened to take as a personal diss. So did Cal think she was less of a woman because of her perfect relationship with Cyrus? She was perfectly capable of being a strong independent woman, who was also happy in a committed monogamous relationship. Fortunately for all parties involved, Cyrus appeared and slipped his arm around her waist. She closed her eyes for a moment as she felt his lips against her temple; he always did have a way of calming her down. “You look dashing as always darling,” she told him, straightening his tie gently with a smile. Tucking her arm in the crook of his elbow, Eleanor led the party of three into the restaurant, where they were immediately seated. Eleanor took the opportunity to order a bottle of champagne for the table. “Your very best,” she confirmed as the waiter disappeared to retrieve it for them. She turned to Cyrus, realizing that after all these years he still had a way of making the butterflies appear in her stomach. “So what happened at practice?” she asked him curiously. She knew they had a pretty robust team this year, so she wondered what had gone on to make him run very nearly late. @callisto @cyrus dressy

Callisto was relieved when Cyrus showed up, complimenting them and seeming a bit forlorn about practice. She nodded at him, "Cyrus, good to see you. You look great," she complimented. As much as she lovvvedd the idea of this awkward third wheel situation, she felt relieved when he arrived.
The three of them went inside, and Eleanor requested their best table, which made Callisto actually roll her eyes. She likes the best of things too, but she knew that Eleanor had a way of showing off subtly, and that got on Callisto's nerves. She looked out the door before they were led to a table, thinking for just a brief moment that she had seen a familiar-looking German Shepherd run past. No, that was just wishful thinking. She turned to Cyrus expectantly, waiting for his answer to Eleanor's question about practice.
