She agreed that there were amazing places in the world, and answered that she went to a private boarding school for the arts. She looked down at the camera and he felt a sharp pang in his chest. Under the table, he grabbed a piece of loose paper from his pocket and held it in his hand, letting his magic etch a business card like surface onto it. "Well, that's amazing. I bet your work is lovely," he said with a nod, holding onto the business card with one hand as he took some more sips of his coffee. He would give it to her when he got up to leave, in case she changed her mind about him paying for the camera. She shook her head abut Rome, though, and said that she hoped to go someday, but that Rome was overdone. he chuckled, nodded, too. "I haven't done much of Eastern Europe in all honesty," he admitted. "My parents just started getting into that after I decided to settle down here," he explained. "Religion is to be thanked for most of the best architecture in the world, both big and small.

@benji Even though she wasn’t making eye contact with the man when he said her work was probably lovely, Cordelia still felt her face flush a little. He was honest about it, whereas a lot of the inquiries that came from strangers were about what she was taking, and then criticizing from there. This man just broke her camera and was still be earnest about it. “I t-try to m-make it pre-presentable,” she reasoned, though knew that placing it in a public forum would probably never happen. Taking up the mantle as a photographer following graduation would mean freelancing, and that meant doing portraits, weddings, and other assigned work. Being at the Daily Prophet would be the same way, but then she would be subjected to using their magical cameras, and she hated those things. They were bulky, broke all the time, and the ones she had seen used in the field were older than her grandparents. While there was a certain something that came with old cameras, it did not exist within those models. The dream of owning a digital camera that was enhanced with magic was a long-shot, but she had a feeling it would be an eventuality within her lifetime. “B-But there are l-loads of m-my classmates that are m-more talented…” Both in art and magic. There was that lack of confidence, back at it again. He laughed at her Rome comment, and the side of Cordelia’s mouth lifted in a half-smile. At least she wasn’t the only one that believed in that. He went on to explain that religion was one of the key reasons for all the buildings and architecture that she wanted to see, and she nodded her head in response. Despite never finding an interest in the subject (magic mostly conflicting with it and her parents’ lack of interest for the same reason), she still had to give ancient cultures and religions that victory. To have the ability to still see a sliver of what peoples hundreds, if not thousands, of years ago lived with was awesome. To have the ability to capture that through her own lens and share it, hopefully for years to come, was just her way of adding to it all. That was why she enjoyed architecture the most. “S-Sounds like fun...” she said, still a little curious about what a muggle take on old Europe would be like. In her case, there were other spots to visit on top of the muggle ones; magical hot-spots and communities that she had only read about in school books. Thankfully all of that nestled quite well among the non-magical cities and villages, enough so that she felt comfortable on her own, if she ever ended up going. "I should p-probably b-be going," she said suddenly, standing up and gingerly picking up her camera in the process. "Th-thanks for the c-coffee...the c-camera will be fine t-too," Cordelia assured him before turning to leave the seating area and on her way. First stop was a dark alley where she could fix her camera up. Then back to her normal thing. [The End]
