Hello there, my name is Jace Hunter but you can call me Jace. I'm a Thunderbird/Gryffindor and 15 so that makes me a fifth year at Hogwarts. You could say I'm brave, daring and chivalrous but I personally think that I am adventurous, confident and clever. People say I look a lot like Josh Feldman, but I don't really see it...

appearance:
Jace is 5'8" and has a slender build. His hair is normally a dark brown and he has green eyes, but Jace is a metamorphmagi so he can change his appearance at will. Normally he will just do this to mess around with the people around him or as a joke, but sometimes it changes according to his mood. That only happens if his emotions are extreme, however. He lived in Alaska before going to Ilvermony, so he's very comfortable in the cold and sometimes likes to show that off by wearing shorts and short sleeves outside, but as a general rule, he loves wearing his jeans and a t-shirt. If it's not hot, he can generally be seen with a jacket as well, mostly out of habit growing up (despite his showing off without it)

adventures, quidditch, flirting, having fun, outdoors, reaching his goals, dueling (though he’s never participated in a serious one), showing off, making people smile, opportunity to think through a new/difficult situation, excitement, dancing, tricking others, motorcycles, surprises

being bored, assumptions, injuries, dealing with people he thinks are idiots or boring, being stuck inside, following the rules (they’re made to be broken, right?), anything that holds him back, being expected to fulfill other people’s expectations, cars
erised:
Jace wants to become a protective light to those around him. He imagines himself as the ultimate confidante and protector of those close to him, no matter how broken up the world may become. In other words, he wants to be the person people come to when they need help.
amortentia:
campfire, pine trees and rain
boggart:
Jace fears losing those he cares about (specifically his family), as well as disappointing his mother by the choices that he makes.
overall personality:
Jace isn’t a bad person, but he’s not particularly good either. Actually, at this point and time he’s aware of all the arguing and differing opinions when it comes to no-maj’s and wizards, but he hasn’t decided how he feels about it. He can understand both sides and is slowly trying to come up with his own opinion, which isn’t exactly simple. A part of him thinks that no-maj's are dangerous and should be kept away from wizards (especially since he blames them for his mother's death), but he also had no-maj friends as a child. Despite the fact that he hasn't really interacted much with no-maj's over the past several years, it's hard to forget those friendships. If anyone were interested, he probably wouldn't be hard to sway in one direction or the other, though once he makes up his mind about how he feels about no-maj's, he's not likely to change it.
He loves mischief. He pulls pranks, doesn’t follow rules and basically messes around whenever he gets the chance to do so. He likes flirting with girls and charming them and mostly just having fun in whatever way he can. (If that means staying up past curfew or wandering in places he shouldn’t … well he’ll just do his best not to get caught.) It's rare that anyone gets to see the serious side of him because he keeps it well-hidden behind a smile and lots of laughter. Deep down, he feels a need to keep his serious side hidden, that anyone who sees too much of it won't want anything to do with him. For this reason, he keeps most acquaintances as easygoing friends and doesn't let them get close to him.
Despite this, Jace likes talking to people and has a gift for getting them to open up about themselves- probably has something to do with his charisma. He’s good with names and has a great memory when it comes to things that interest him- especially when it comes to remembering things about people. He is also quite observant, noting people who are outgoing as well as those who like to stay on their own more.
Jace is overly protective of those he cares about. Once you have gotten past his shell, he lets you in and would do anything to keep you safe. Probably due to a fear of losing people close to him (because of his mother's passing), he feels a responsibility to those around him. He would easily give his life to protect someone else if the opportunity arose.

history:
Jace was born to Julie and Owen Hunter on a crisp autumn morning. He was their first child and from the beginning they were a small, happy family. All his memories of his childhood are happy, playful ones. Living in Wyoming, his family enjoyed lots of outdoor things like camping and hiking and spending lots of time together.
From a very young age, he became quite adept at controlling his metamorphmagi abilities, which rarely change according to his mood. As a general rule, he had to focus to make his appearance change, unless he was sick. When he became sick, his ability was uncontrollable and he had to stay home. (they actually discovered he was a metamorphmagi when he got sick as a newborn child)
When Jace turned six, he was sent to elementary school. Of course, his parents planned to send him to Ilvermorny as soon as he was the appropriate age, but thought it was a good idea to have him interacting with other children his age since he was an only child. Jace loved school and learning, and from the first got along with others well. In fact, he was the students who was always happy and cheerful and inviting others to play with him.
Then one day, after picking him up from school, his mother got in a terrible car accident, which happened so suddenly she didn't have enough time to grab for her wand. She died on impact. Jace and his father mourned her death and Jace's personality started to change, he started to become more reserved and serious, angry at the no-maj's for the death of his mother.
In an effort to help his son cope with the loss of his mother, Owen moved to a small magical community in Alaska called Tugidak, where his family resided. The no-maj's thought of it as a small, uninhabited island, which is exactly what the magical citizens wanted. Living close to his cousins and other magical children, Jace started to slowly open up once more, to the relief of his father. After about a year he seemed to be behaving as he had back in Wyoming, though at times the more serious version of him came out.
When Jace was nine, his father remarried. His new wife was named Mayzie and she had two children, a daughter only about a year younger than Jace and a son two years younger than him. Jace became very close with both of them while their parents were dating. Once they married, Jace couldn't be happier. He had a brother and sister! He always wanted that.
Then he attended Ilvermorny. Jace became a Thunderbird and made tons of friends. He was the life of the party (at least, in his own mind). He was outgoing, charismatic and always available to talk or mess around with the people around him. He loved making other people smile and helping them enjoy themselves, even if it was doing things he didn't particularly like. The reserved, serious side of him was still there (it never left after his mother's death) but Jace kept it to himself almost always. Only his closest friends saw him that way. He was a good student, mostly behaving in class, but the smile and playful attitude was always present in front of the teachers. He often used his ability to make people laugh or to pull pranks, not caring if he got into trouble for it. He also liked playing Quidditch and was on his house team. All in all, he loved his time at school.
With the attack on Ilvermorny, Jace and his step-siblings will be attending Hogwarts. He's upset about what happened to his school, but a part of him is also excited to try something new, even knowing that things at the other magical school weren't completely normal either. He'd heard about the kidnappings and the death of a muggleborn, the attacks in England and most recently on the schools that participated in the Triwizard Tournament. The other part of Jace was nervous to be headed somewhere that was under attack. How was he supposed to protect his siblings there? Very carefully. Not going to school wasn't an option for him, as he loved it, and he knew his siblings felt the same. They would have to face whatever came and he would do his best for be there for them. He decided to take a more positive approach, feeling ready for an adventure and hoped to find a good one at Hogwarts.
