The Not guessed that House Elves must have made the cookies and Nora grimaced. "So, our host isn't the cooking type, you think? It's a shame, I always liked a boy in an apron," she said, turning to look at 'blondie'. He didn't look the type, no, but he was cute. She may mosey over there later but for now... She turned back to Cookie Boy as he gave his name, stumbling on it a little. Her insides swelled with pride. She knew her powers were good, but it was always fun to watch them at work. She didn't give her name yet, focusing instead on his answer to her question. She nodded, speaking in a normal voice, "no, not from Hogwarts -- or Beauxbatons, she added, since she had a slight French accent. "A small homeschool in Quebec. It's quite ironic that the Americans arrived the same year we did. Almost like fate," she laced a little extra push on that last word, taking another cookie. "I hate the ocean. And the sun. But I couldn't miss on a chance to meet some friends before the fall, you know?"@jacob

Jacob just laughed a little as the girl commented about how she was disappointed that the host didn’t cook. How she liked a boy in an apron which made him laugh just a bit more. “I’m no mind reader but I just get that feeling from him.” Lie, bold faced lie but he didn’t like to share he was a legilimens to someone he just met. It normally threw people off as they assumed he was already trying to get into their heads. He also wasn’t as causal about it as his grandmother when she used it. Besides it was far more than just mind reading. “As for an apron I’ll have to keep that in mind. I have one or two at home.” Jacob explained with a smile as he knew exactly how many he had, he had four in total but left that out.
The girl began to explain how she ended up here and it was interesting to hear where she was from. Jacob was also relieve he hadn’t just embarrassed himself by not knowing who one of his own school mates were. He didn’t know everyone but still to assume she hadn’t gone to his school and she did would have looked bad. “Try telling that to some of my schoolmates and they’ll probably just complain about coming here.” Jacob replied as she said it might have been fate that she came here the same time as the American school did. “So want brings you to Europe? We’re here because our school got wrecked.” Jacob was curious, he hadn’t expected people to be showing up to go to Hogwarts for other reasons. This girl explained how she both hated the ocean and the sun but still came just to meet some friends. “I suppose a beach party isn’t a great place for you than. Still it’s a good reason to come out. If not for friends than to just see if this turns into a train wreck or not.” Jacob laughed as he was here for friends as well but also to see just how this party and the two schools mixing together would go. "You made one friend already, even if all you did was steal my cookies."

Louis was running a little late to this Beach Party Gilderoy Lockhart was throwing, but it didn’t matter; his girlfriend was in the States, so he didn’t have to meet anyone specifically at a certain time. He figured at least ONE of his cousins would show up, and his fellow Quidditch teammate Sav would definitely be there as well. He made his way there courtesy of his mother and Side Along Apparition; he bid her farewell and made his way down to the beach where a good group of students had gathered. He recognized quite a few, including the American he had met last week in Diagon Alley. He waved at his cousin Anna, who was in the midst of a conversation with her newly minted fiance and a group of people before making his way over to Sav and Brigh, a red haired Gryffindor two years younger. “Hello all, sorry I’m late,” he announced, popping in between the two of them and slinging one arm around each person. “Has Sav been convincing you to join the team yet Bri? We could use some Chasers to keep the Quaffles away from me,” he said, grinning his wide grin at her. @sav BRÍGH ENNIS O'DALAIGH

More people started to arrive, and more people came to join their group, a few people she knew, like Anna and Oscar, who, while she knew them, probably didn't know her, something that didn’t really bother her. She was a very forgettable person and had come to accept that. She was quiet and normally just blended in, especially in big crowds, which this party was starting to turn into. She also normally managed to attract at least some level of anxiety in big crowds, but was trying her best to stay a somewhat normal human right now. At least she had known ahead of time that there would be a lot of people here. Gilderoy insisted that since he got the bookworm to come it was successful, and gestured to Fiona as he did so. While she smiled and rolled her eyes, it kind of proved how much time had passed since they last really knew each other. Yes, she did like books, and most of the time, would much rather spend her time in the world of novels, she did so because the characters on a page always felt more relatable than those actually surrounding her. “Don’t let yourself get too big of a head there.” Fiona responded, crossing her arms over her chest, her curly blonde hair flowing with the changing directions of the wind. How some people were in swimsuits was beyond her. She, in shorts and a sweater, was still feeling the windchill. But, to each their own. “I’m uh, Fiona, by the way.” She introduced herself to the rest of the group that had gathered around their host, her...once best friend? First kiss? He wasn’t exactly her anything at this point.

Gilderoy just smirked as Fiona told him not to get too big of head. “I can’t be glad you’re here instead of home reading?” Gilderoy teased for a moment but he was genuinely glad Fiona had shown up. She was the only one who he actually made sure got their invite by handing it to her. He wouldn’t have been upset if she didn’t but Gilderoy would much rather her have shown up. The group that was around them slowly seemed to spread apart and he was fine with that. He watched some of the guests decide to brave the waters which were still probably cold as always and he laughed a little to himself. As much as he enjoyed being at the center of his own party all that mattered was that people had a good time. That and they all remembered how great his party was of course. “You want to go get something to eat? The house elves made all kinds of things and if not we can ask them to make it if you want. If not there's all kinds of things to do around here, or just read.” All of which sounded good to him, he did want to go around and see how the party was going but he also wouldn't mind just sitting down and taking a break.

Daniel called her generous and she laughed, mirthless. He knew just how to make her laugh, whether they were getting along or not, something was always worth laughing at. Cray shook her hand and Katherines grip was firm but the handshake was swift. She stayed silent for a moment as Daniel and Cray spoke of friends and the 'welcoming committee'. Daniel, as sarcastic as ever. At Crays comeback to Daniel saying that Scottish was still trouble, Katherine grinned wickedly. Oh, this girl had a tongue on her. A fantastic one, clearly. "I've found satisfying to be another trouble word for sweet Daniel here," Katherine reached over to pat his arm condescendingly. She pulled her hand back. "I was looking forward to a little wading and sunbathing. Care to join me, Cray? We can leave Daniel here trying to translate the word 'ditched'."@cray @crimson1

After Gilderoy had gone out of his way to make sure that she knew that he wanted her at his party, Fiona had resigned herself to go. Even if the day came and all she wanted to do was stay home. Even if the pressure in her chest made her regret her decision, she knew that it would lighten when she was there, and indeed it had. Gilderoy always had a way of putting her anxiety at ease, which was something that she didn’t understand at all, since he was also one of her biggest stressors. That had been one of the reasons they had once been so close. His presence comforted her, and had since the first time that they met, and it was a mystery to the blonde. An intrigue. “The best thing about books is how easy they are to transport.” she teased in response. She wasn’t at home reading, that was true. But she very well could be sat on the sand reading. The group began to form into smaller groups, something she was almost thankful for because it took a lot of pressure off of her to join the group and it meant that she could actually have a conversation with the host, who, she knew, would be in high demand today. “Food sounds good.” She nodded. “Lead the way?” she asked, since he knew where he was going and all.

Brígh grinned as she and Sav were joined by Louis. Louis was probably one of the nicest people she knew. She sometimes wondered why he wasn't in Hufflepuff where they were kind and loyal, but she reckoned it did make sense that he was dating one. Bri raised her glass and inclined her head slightly to Louis. "I prefer to keep both of my feet on the ground thanks," she said.
"Anyways, you're just fine at keeping away the quaffles on your own. When was the last time you let a goal in anyways?" asked Bri, taking a small sip of her drink. Her eyes scanned the rest of the party, and she thought she heard something about cookies. She would have to investigate later. Cookies made her weak. She snapped her attention back to Louis and Sav.

That’s just what Daniel needed in his life, these two girls hitting it off. Still it wasn’t like he could do anything about it. Both girls obviously had something in common from the get go and that was disliking him. It was starting to become habit for Daniel to keep running into girls who disliked him for almost no reason. Besides Katherine, they had dated before and he supposed that was enough reason for her. As the girls began to discuss the words Daniel might be having trouble with he just laughed. It was mildly entertaining to watch two people who had just met to bounce off each other so well. “Don’t worry I’ll go find a dictionary, I was looking for some better company anyway.” Daniel joked as Katherine decided it was time to leave him behind and just be with Crayla. “As always it was a pleasure Katherine, you take care of the Ice Queen here.” Daniel said with small smirk before walking off, even if they didn’t walk off together he was done. Either he was off to find someone he knew from Ilvermorny or he’d be gone.

As Fiona explained why she liked books so much he just laughed a little. “And here I was assuming you’d say something different. How easy you could get lost in a book or attempt to ignore me with them, something like that.” Gilderoy was only teasing as Fiona somehow could always pay attention to the outside world and read at the same time. He didn’t have many flaws that he knew of but he did find it hard to pay attention to other things and read a book at the same time. Fiona agreed with the idea of getting food which sounded good to him, after all he did bring it up. Asking him to lead the way and he wasn’t about to refuse. He had set all this up after all, sure he had help from house elves but he did decide where everything went. “Right this way my dear party guest.” Gilderoy replied with a small smirk as he began to lead the way back to the beach house, all the food was kept there after all.
Once there the table was still laid out just like when he left it, some things missing but the elves seemed to be on top of keeping it full. “Dig in, I didn’t make a single thing, it was all the house elves so it should taste amazing.” Gilderoy laughed but it was true, he wasn’t much of a cook. At least nothing on this scale or size. “I am glad you came, Fiona. It’s nice having you here.” Gilderoy said getting himself a plate while handing one toward Fiona.

Crayla hadn’t expected all of the new Ilvermorny students to be awful, however, she also hadn’t been expecting that she liked one of them, especially not someone who had once been in a relationship with Daniel, the American Gryffindor who Cray would never admit to having danced with in an abandoned classroom. The great thing about that, was that even if he told someone about their first meeting, she expected most wouldn’t think he was telling the truth. Cray had only let a few people into her sessions, older, attractive men like Dom, or men she actually fancied like Zaire. Daniel had barged in and she had decided to inflict a little embarrassment on him before letting him go again. Ahh memories.
“I’d love to join you. I’ll see to it that you’re introduced to the right crowd.” Crayla Howlan agreed with a smile, without another word to the Gryffindor. He left them, instructing Katherine to ‘take care of the Ice Queen’, before taking his leave. Cray smirked, she was actually quite fond of that nickname he had given her, which, she knew, made him all the more mad about it. “Shall we get a drink?” Cray asked, nodding to the drink table, where she saw the only decent Gryffindor with a flask out.

Oscar was slightly surprised by how hospitable Kaylee was, offering to show them around for no other reason than they were two strangers who looked slightly out of their comfort zone. It was nice to have people who didn’t know of Anna’s status as Champion, or his own unfortunate story with the end of the Triwizard Tournament. The pair that they approached seemed nice enough, but Oscar was momentarily distracted by a shrieking that pierced the air. He squeezed Anna’s hand, hard enough to hurt, as he whipped his head around to watch the girl who was screaming in the water. For a moment his chest felt horribly tight. “What is wrong with her?” Oscar asked, his voice about an octave too high as he stared at the scene and tried not to remember the wreckage of the carriage in the water. He turned his head back to the conversation slowly, but his mind was about a hundred miles away as he introduced himself. “Oscar.” He said quietly, his voice hollow. Oscar barely heard Anna’s question to the Americans, and wasn’t sure he was going to hear their answers, either.

Kaylee heard Kisumi’s shrieking but didn’t think much of it until she watched Oscar’s sudden reaction and his question to Anna. The way he assumed that something must have been wrong with her to cause her to scream, even though she and a boy in the year above them had just gone into the water, it hurt her in a way that she couldn’t quite describe.
Looking over in the direction of the two who had decided to go into the sea, Kaylee watched them for a moment. Kisumi might have been a little bit wild, but there was nothing wrong with her. Nothing bad was happening. She was just being loud; that was all. “She’s okay,” Kaylee reassured Oscar casually, trying not to make a big deal out of his overreaction in front of the others. If what had happened to him was what she thought had happened to him, she understood why he’d been so jumpy.
“She’s just loud,” she added, in case he was still worrying. Kaylee looked to Jace and Brooke—both in Kisumi’s House—for confirmation, hoping that that might help to put Oscar at ease.

Nora smiled even more as he laughed. He had a nice laugh, it was genuine. He said he wasn't a mind reader, but that he got that feeling from Gilderoy - that he didn't cook. She nodded, surveying the blond from a distance. She could agree with that assessment. He said he had one or two aprons at home and Nora raised an eyebrow, turning back to him. "I'll keep that in mind," she said smoothly. He said that other Americans would complain about coming there and her eyes narrowed a little, "well, that's droll," she said. Then he asked what brought her to Europe, mentioning what happened to his school. "Yes, I hear... I'm sorry about that," she said quickly, then went on to answer his question. "My parents decided to move here for work, so we came along, of course," she said. "Yeah... I can deal with the beach for now," she agreed. He said that she made a friend already, referencing to himself she assumed, and she nodded. "I'll steal you cookies any time, if you'll let me," okay, that sentence had some vampire powers laced throughout. Then she switched back to normal voice, "I'm going to grab a drink... care to follow?" she offered, already backing toward the drinks. @jacob (you can follow if you want, BRÍGH ENNIS O'DALAIGH i'm comin for ya next post)

Jacob just smiled with a small silent laugh as she said she’d keep it in mind that he had aprons. He couldn’t imagine aprons being a talking point with anyone when he left the apartment but here they were and he didn't mind it one bit.
“Yes but I feel most will come around in time. I wasn’t very excited when I first got the news that we were all going to Hogwarts.” Jacob explained attempting to defend at least some of his fellow students. “Most of us have spent years at Ilvermorny and then to find out it’s not only wrecked but that we’ll be going to another school on the other side of the ocean.” It was a shock for anyone to be sure, Jacob was just lucky he was the type to look on the bright side of most things. Nora explained why she was here and it made sense. This girl seemed to be taking her move to Europe well, at least by first glance. Some of his classmates could learn something from her. “Well I’m glad you braved the beach and sun. It’s nice meeting you.” Jacob explained in a friendly tone.
It happened again as she spoke about stealing his cookies sometime. As if he was hanging onto each word this girl said, it wasn’t as bad as before but the urge was still there. “I..I...” was all Jacob got out before the girl said she was going to get something to drink asking if wanted to follow. This time he was back to normal if only a little confused about what was happening to him. He did want to tag along but at the same time he also wanted to keep watching the party from where he was. Still he couldn’t let this girl go without knowing her name and as she hadn’t provided it he’d just find out himself. Legilimency always did have its perks as he focused for a moment. Names were simple things to find and people didn’t keep them hidden in their minds. It wasn’t like he was digging for important details anyway, just a name to go with her face. “No, I think I’ll stay here a bit longer. I should make sure my sister doesn’t attack her ex or anything.” He explained with a laugh. “Still it was nice meeting you Nora. I look forward to you stealing my cookies again sometime.”
