It was such a pleasure-filled moment to see Daniels eyes find her. For a breif moment she remembered some of their moments of passion, long kisses and blah, blah, blah, moment gone. Exes were exes for a reason, and this puppy was over. She flipped her hair over her shoulder, cocking her head to the side as he said it had gotten colder. She laughed, mirthless. "The cold is free, you're welcome," she said. The girl spoke, and Katherine turned her attention to her, eyes bright and nodded when she said that the guests deserved a warm welcome. Then he said that he had a certain type, complete with 'hating his guts'. As the girl said he was alone, Kat clicked her tongue, winking at Daniel before turning back toward the girl as she introduced herself. "Katherine Kowalski and heavens, that accent is lovely," she said, offering a hand in greeting. @crimson1 @cray

Anna felt her heart sink a little bit when Oscar shook his head, saying he wasn't ready. Of course, it made sense, but the fact that he was so nervous to be out in public was heartbreaking to her. He used to be so confident. She didn't say anything though. She reached for his hand and squeezed it, trying to show that she was there for him without saying anything. When the girl came up and asked if they wanted to join, Oscar's nerves were even more obvious to Anna as his grip tightened on her hand. She didn't say anything though, or show any indication. She smiled when he gave his name and mentioned that he wasn't the only one not from England. Anna was perfectly content to just let him talk to the girl, not wanting to intrude or stop his progress, talking to someone he didn't know. The girl- Kaylee- started explaining how lots of the students here were from Ilvermorny and Anna looked around, trying to spot those she didn't recognize. She smiled as Kaylee explained she was from Hawaii and laughed about being at a different kind of beach. "Sure. I think it would be nice to meet some more of you. Oscar?" she asked, looking over at Oscar with a curious expression, which was obvious. Did he want to meet them? She didn't want to push him too hard, so she'd let him make the final decision. Of course, she'd stay with him no matter what his decision was. @oscar kaylee māhealani mahi'ai

Kaylee said that there were tons of students from Ilvermorny there, and Oscar nodded. He had thought that there were more students on the beach that he didn’t recognize than could be accounted for by his only visiting Hogwarts for a year, but it seemed like the transfer students were the reasoning for him not knowing many people. Kaylee said that she was from Hawaii, and Oscar nodded along, though he didn’t know enough about American geography to have any sense of what that meant. She said there were different beaches, though, and Oscar offered a small smile. “The beaches in France are different, too.” His hometown, Avignon, wasn’t far from the beaches in Nice or Marseille, so Oscar was more than familiar with French beaches, and to say that they were different from British ones was an understatement.
Kaylee offered to introduce them to some of her classmates, and Oscar blanched internally at the idea. One stranger was hard enough, but more than that…? However, Anna had already answered that it would be nice, so when she turned the question over to him, Oscar just nodded weakly. He could always ditch if he needed to, he told himself. It would all be fine.

“Generous as always Katherine, thanks.” Daniel replied already getting used to how this used to be. There was probably some lesson to be learned from dating and breaking up with someone who you shared classes with and had to see pretty regularly before. He also came to realize now that this would happen all over again when school started at Hogwarts. He could only hope the rest of the Americans showing up would make dealing with this worth it again. Crayla commented about how not all Americans could be bad if they agreed with her. “No I’m sure you’ll have plenty of new friends.” Only briefly allowing himself to hope he would have plenty of old ones too.
Daniel scoffed mildly as Crayla claimed they were expected to give the Americans a warm welcome. “I’ll be sure to nominated you as head of the welcoming committee when we get back to Hogwarts.” Daniel joked, still it would be hilarious to see her version of welcoming the new student body. After Katherine’s joke Crayla joined on saying that it explained why he was along. Katherine seemed to love that comment and of course she would. “Hey, it could always be worse.” He replied with a nod toward Katherine, he wasn’t going down without a fight but two on one was what this was turning to. He’d lose patience eventually, even he knew this. “Give it a few months and you’ll hardly notice the new accents. Besides the Scottish ones, still have trouble with those sometimes.” He said more thinking out loud than anything else at this moment.

“Don’t they.” Jacob replied as she looked at him from above her sunglasses. The smell was part of what drew him to the snack table in the first place. “I assume the house elves made them, I didn’t see anybody inside cooking and I doubt blondie over they made them.” He added with a laugh while motioning toward the host. As the girl took a cookie she asked who he was. “I.. I’m Jacob.” He didn’t know why he stopped himself for a moment. Something about the way she spoke but it also could have been he had been around his sister for far to long as well. Nothing but yelling and insults from that girl as always. “It’s going as well as could be expected with the two schools getting along. At least no ones tried killing each other. So far.” Jacob explained wishing it went better but this was probably as good as it would get. “Do you go to Hogwarts? If you’re from Illvermorny I’m about to feel real embarrassed.”

“Sure. I think it would be nice to meet some more of you. Oscar?”
Oscar gave a response that seemed positive enough to suggest that he was in agreement with Anna, so Kaylee nodded, too.
“I don’t see anyone from my House here yet,” she noted, spotting no other Horned Serpents around. (There were plenty of Thunderbirds around, though, which was hardly surprising to her.) Having younger siblings who were in school with her, too, Kaylee knew more than the people around whom she had usually spent her time. Seeing that Jace Hunter and Brooklyn Lane didn’t appear to be too busy yet, and—knowing that the two in the year below her probably wouldn’t be too overwhelming, for Oscar’s sake—Kaylee decided to start with them first.
In order to approach Jace and Brooke, she took a few steps forward from Anna and Oscar, keeping her fingers crossed that the rest of the students around them wouldn’t leave a bad impression on Oscar, who still seemed unsure about making introductions. With so many people involved in their own conversations, including what had sounded like a hostile exchange between Daniel McKay and Katherine Kowalski, her fellow Ilvermorny students must have seemed intense.
Fortunately, no one was going to have to step in and intervene in a physical confrontation between Daniel and Katherine, as the latter had begun to converse with a girl whom Kaylee didn’t recognize and who must have been a Hogwarts student—hopefully a good enough distraction from her ex.
“I promise we’re all pretty nice,” she assured Anna and Oscar. It wasn’t untrue. There were some people she knew from school of whom she wasn’t exactly fond, but very few fell into the category of being absolutely unbearable. Besides, none of her Ilvermorny classmates had any reason to be rude to Anna or Oscar.

Everyone seemed a bit busy, which wasn't something that Jace realized when he'd joined the group. Quite a few of them were headed over to the water, he assumed to jump in or something. He waited a moment, wanting to see what the others were going to do before he made up his mind on something. He felt a familiar voice talk and turned when Brooke nudged his shoulder, introducing herself to the group as well. "Fancy seeing you here," he teased under his breath, grinning. He was glad she was looking better. The last time they hung out she'd seemed stressed about being in a new place. She was actually smiling and seemed excited to be here, so he was happy for her. A small group of people started heading towards them, lead by Kaylee, a girl he recognized from Ilvermorny but didn't really know well. The other two students were kind of trailing behind her, so he assumed she was introducing them or something. He nodded his head in their direction so maybe Brooke would notice them as well before stepping forward with a smile. "Hey Kaylee," he greeted her, before looking at the other two a bit more. "I'm Jace. New here, as you can probably guess." He gave a soft chuckle. The guy seemed a little hesitant or something so Jace didn't start asking questions and he tried not to stare at the guy's scars. @brooke kaylee māhealani mahi'ai @oscar @annelise

At Ilvermorny, everyone seemed to spread out and she wouldn’t ever worry about picking out people that looked familiar in a crowd, she had her friends, and everyone else had theirs and the cliques weren’t really a big deal. However, it seemed like some of those cliques were beginning to crash down, now, everyone of all ages and houses seemed to be hanging out together, just taking comfort in the familiar faces rather than who was friends with who or what their place in the school had been. Brooke, who was having a hard time with the change, was happy to see Jace, who was kind of acting as her rock though all this, the thing that was constant and linked her back with her home. “Yeah I’m glad I came.” the young girl admitted with a smile to her best friend. Kaylee, another girl whom she knew but wouldn’t exactly say that she was friends with came over to them, along with two others who looked older than they were and didn’t look at all familiar so must have been Hogwarts students. “Hey. I’m Brooke.” she said when introductions came around.

It seemed like no one else was going to join them in swimming, not even Noel, which was probably wise but it was boring. Where were all those brave and silly folks?
"Well then. Ready?" she said grinning. "One. Two. THREE!" She darted forward, and was up to mid-calf before she let out a shriek at the cold and then promptly started laughing hysterically at her over-reaction. It wasn't that bad really - the shock of it was always the worst. The thing that she really didn't like was how coarse the sand was, way gritter than her favourite beaches. But being on the ocean was worth it. After a moment she waded a little deeper, until her hands could touch the water without bending down - perfect for splashing up a fuss just the moment someone was in range.
@ezekiel and everyone, since she shrieked

So far the Ilvermorny students seemed to filing in one after another some coming to meet Gilderoy while others went off to find their other friends. It was a party after all and while he liked to imagine he was still the center of it all that really mattered was that everyone had fun. He was just about to greet another Ilvermorny student when another one came up. She went and made fun of his name before eyeing him and saying that it fit. Gilderoy didn’t really know how to respond. It wasn’t like he would have been mean about it anyway if he had. She ran off to join some other Ilvermorny students and he couldn’t say he wasn’t relieve. “Well that was... interesting.” Gilderoy said with a laugh to Fiona and the people around. If the girl decided she didn’t like him he wasn’t going to hold her bad taste against her.
While Sav left, Gilderoy had an idea of what he was going to do and by all means he was fine with how things turned out last time. Another boy joined them and introduced himself and the girl from earlier. “Hey that’s no problem, this is still going better than some probably expected.” Gilderoy laughed the situation off. Right now it didn’t bother him, he was still living off the high that all these people were here because of him after all. “I got the bookworm to come.” Gilderoy turned his attention to teasing Fiona for a moment. “As long as no one gets hurt badly I consider this a success after that.”

It looked as though it would be just Kisumi and he who were going to take the plunge—proverbially speaking, since they weren’t actually going to jump in—and so Kisumi began the countdown.
By the time that she had counted to three, the Thunderbird was practically in the ocean already. Zeke wasn’t far behind her, himself, though he wasn’t expecting the ear-splitting shriek that Kisumi let out by the time that they had gotten well into the water. It wasn’t icy or even uncomfortable, but it was colder than expected.
Zeke began to laugh, continuing farther into the water. “We’ll get used to it after another minute or two,” he told Kisumi. Then it wouldn’t feel quite so cold.
@kisumi Anyone who wants to join them in the water, I guess?

The girl introduced herself formally and Cray smirked, it was always nice meeting someone with manners, and it was nice to see that not all of the Americas were as loud as the ones in the water or as obnoxious as Daniel. Hand shaking wasn’t normally something that Crayla participated in, since most people repulsed her too much to want to touch. But she accepted the girls hand in greeting. “Cray Howlan.” she introduced herself as well. “Thank you.” Crayla cooed when her accent was complemented. Cray, who had been a Hogwarts student since she was 11 was often questioned on why she, a French girl, was a student at the English school. However, that wasn’t really something she wanted to get into. However, it had come up quite often last year with the presence of the visiting students. Daniel commented on accents too, saying that the Scottish accents still gave him trouble, “Oh but even simple words in English seem to give you trouble. Like, Oh I don’t know… respect, maybe?” Cray suggested.

Once Sav got away from the group it was pretty easy to finish his task. A lot of people had shown up and it was fairly easy to blend in, even for the tall, muscular man. The Americans seemed to be entertaining themselves and most of the Hogwarts kids were either watching from afar or trying to get involved. Sav reached into his pocket and brought his flask out, his trusty flask that he had gotten years ago and managed to keep hidden most of the time. Now that he was 17 he could fill it on his own, and the only think illegal about his actions was that he was proving it to those who were underage. With a flick of his wrist, the legal poison found its way into the punch bowl. Savtaj gave the bowl a stir and then refilled his glass to admire his concoction.

Anna followed Kaylee toward the small group of children, her hand tightening around Oscar's. She could sense his tension, but she didn't want to upset him or stress him out. She just wanted him to enjoy this, time with her where he could maybe meet more people, but she wasn't sure how much he was enjoying them. Kaylee stopped when they reached a group of people, well two people. They both introduced themselves and Anna smiled. "I'm Anna," she said with a smile. "So where are you guys from?" she asked the two. They seemed very comfortable with one another, but that could be because they were friends or something, so Anna wasn't going to put a label on it unless they said something. @oscar kaylee māhealani mahi'ai @jace @brooke

Upon receiving the invitation, Bri had immediately decided she ought to go to this party. Besides, it was being hosted by Gilderoy Lockhart, and he was the buffest boy at school. Also she was well versed in beaches, even if perhaps the ones in Galway were slightly different from this one. In the days leading up to the party, Brigh changed her outfit plan six times which bothered her to no end. She didn't care what she wore. She was just excited to get to go to a party with some of her classmates. She wondered who else would be there.
Unfortunately, it seemed that Bri had turned up late. There were already loads of other people here, and Bri didn't know most of them. They must have been the transfers from Ilvermony. Maybe she could make some new friends. Some of them would likely join her in Gryffindor. Bri grinned nervously at Gilderoy, then moved over towards the punchbowl. There was always a punchbowl. And there was even someone she knew vaguely standing by punchbowl.
"Hi Sav," said Bri, recognising the Quidditch captain for her house at once. She helped herself to some punch, taking a long sip. She immediately tasted that something was off about it. She raised a brow but said nothing. She was Irish. She was practically raised on whisky. "Have a nice summer so far?"
