Hello there, my name is William Flint but you can call me Liam. I'm a ministry worker and 19 so that makes me a graduate of Hogwarts. You could say I'm intelligent, knowledgeable and witty but I personally think that I am independent, an introvert, and a genius . People say I look a lot like Drew Roy, but I don't really see it...

appearance:
Liam looks exactly like his playby. He prefers to dress casually when possible, trying to avoid any and all finery that reminds him of his life before he left home, though he cares about his appearance at the same time. He rarely smiles unless he’s with the people he’s close to, so to most people he comes off as arrogant.

personality
likes:
his job, puzzles that make him think, working with his hands, complicated spells, dueling, his friends, Italian food, freedom, quidditch, summer
dislikes:
his parents, pureblood politics, attacks, people who pretend to be something they are not, being pressured to do something he doesn’t want to, being distracted from his work, people asking questions, quick judgments, having nothing to do with his hands.
erised:
Liam imagines himself living in a safe world, where the people he cares about don’t have to fear the threat of Elaine Dupree, attacks by prejudiced people, and can live a peaceful happy life. A life where he can lose himself in his work without worrying for those he cares about.
amortentia:
orange, pine, peppermint
boggart:
More than anything, Liam fears failing those he cares about, again. He already failed his best friend, Ethan Johnson, and now is terrified that he will do the same with Tamara, his siblings, and anyone he lets close to him. For this reason he doesn’t let many close, but those he does he would be willing to defend with his life.
overall personality:
Liam is a very introverted person. At least, he is when it comes to strangers. If he knows you he’ll talk a little more, but he’s a big over-thinker. He’s incredibly smart and endured lot of abuse as a child, so he doesn’t always feel like he knows how to respond to people’s questions or comments. He overthinks things a lot as well, so he has a hard time really saying much when he’s in a conversation, and generally only can get out a short sentence. Maybe two.
He is also a very determined man, doing what he thinks is best despite the consequence. This is a quality of his from his youth, as evidenced by the fact that he ran away from home when he was sixteen and never went back. He does what he thinks is best and what he wants, trying to help others, especially his brother, do the same. He doesn’t want people to do things just because they are “supposed” to.
Liam is extremely loyal and devoted to the people he cares about. He would literally give his life for any of his siblings and close friends, which is part of the reason he is still struggling with Ethan’s death. He blames himself for not finding some way to stop it. If you’re going to mess with his brother or sisters (yes he knows they’re his half-sisters, but he doesn’t care. They’re still family to him), be prepared to deal with him.

history:
William David Flint was the firstborn son of Marcus and Pansy. Born into an extremely wealthy family, he never wanted for anything. At least, not anything money could buy. The one thing clearly missing in his life from the very beginning was affection. Both of his parents were strict and demanding, even of their young children. Failure was not tolerated in their house and often resulted in differering forms of abuse. From a young age, Liam learned how to deal with this, shutting off his emotions and not responding to any way they treated him, to the best of his ability. This was just a way of life and something to be expected, especially since the older he grew, the clearer it became that he was extremely intelligent. Liam seemed to be able to put together almost anything with his hands, as well as solve problems and riddles from a very young age. His first sign of magic came when he was only a few days old and the older he grew, the more control he seemed to have over it, even before attending school. This only made his parents demand more and more from him, since they wanted him to represent the family well, which only made him try to close them off more.
Despite hiding his emotions from his parents, Liam openly loved his younger siblings. Growing up, he spent as much time as he could with them, getting to know them and doing whatever they wanted. He became particularly close with his younger brother River, who was incredibly sweet and kind. Liam admired his ability to behave that way, no matter who he was around. It took a while for Liam to realize that he was not the only child being abused by his parents. While he expected them to treat him however they chose, he grew to hate his parents for how they were treating his brother and sisters. Often, he would try to take the blame when something happened that could cause any type of harm to his siblings, preferring to take the consequence himself. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t, but trying helped him feel better about the situation.
When he turned eleven, Liam attended Hogwarts. He fully expected to be placed in Hogwarts, just as both his parents had been. However, the sorting hat chose to put him in Ravenclaw, which surprised and pleased him simultaneously. The next day he received a howler from his mother, berating him for shaming the family. Liam did not communicate with his parents for the entirety of the school year. Instead, he focused on his schoolwork and trying to succeed in all he did.
Within the first week, he met a muggleborn student named Ethan Johnson. The boy was kind and seemed like an all around good person, something Liam hadn’t seen much of during his eleven years. Sure, he met people and was taken to social gatherings, but they were full of elite snobs, people Liam had no desire to befriend. Having little experience, Liam wasn’t good at making friends. Growing up in his toxic environment, he had a hard time talking to people in general. He had a tendency to think so much about what he was going to say that he didn’t say much at all. Despite that, he and Ethan Johnson became close friends, though Liam couldn’t explain why. He also met Tamara, a very pretty girl from Hufflepuff, who joined Ethan’s small group of friends. Ethan had a lot of friends, but was always there for Liam when he needed someone. Liam tried to do the same for him in return, even though his parents did not approve of their friendship. Ethan was a muggleborn, so they could not approve, in their eyes.
During the next several years, Liam spent most of his time happy. His time away from home was the happiest of his life, though he never really got over the difficulty of speaking to other people. That didn’t matter to him, though. He could speak with Ethan easily enough, as well as his brother, who joined him in Ravenclaw house after a few years. Holidays were the most difficult times for Liam and his relationship with his parents worsened as time went on. The more time he spent with other people at school, the more he realized that the way his parents treated him and his siblings was not typical, nor was it right.
During the summer right after he turned sixteen, Liam got in a particularly nasty fight with his parents. By this time, he didn’t just let them say and do whatever they wanted anymore. He stood up to them, as best he could, which simply infuriated them. Eventually it got to the point where one night he stormed out of the house, promising he would never return. Using the money his parents gave him for an allowance before that time, Liam rented a small apartment for the rest of the summer and found a job until he could go to school again, for his sixth year. The only person he told about his situation was his best friend, Ethan. He took special care to do things with his siblings still, just not at the Flint Manor. He would not go there, nor would he communicate with his parents in any way. It was hard, being on his own, but it was also very freeing.
The next year, his sixth, was the most peaceful of his life. His parents didn’t try to contact him and he could spend all the time he wanted with River without their stopping him. Ethan was a great support to him and Liam appreciated his friendship more than ever. It was during this year when Liam started to think he felt something more for Tamara, one of the girls in his small group of friends. Of course, he had a difficult time talking to her at all, especially once he recognized what his feelings were. He never told Ethan, not knowing what to say.
Seventh year was the hardest. It came with attacks on the students and a group was formed, Phoenix Rising. Ethan was a member of this group, and Liam joined it with him. Then his best friend revealed that he had feelings for Tamara, and even asked her out. Liam congratulated his friend and supported him, but seeing the two together hurt him on the inside. They were happy together, though, so Liam had no intention of ever acting on his feelings for the girl. He couldn’t remember a time when he’d seen Ethan so happy, though he was a very happy guy on his own.
Then Ethan was attacked. He wouldn’t say who attacked him, even to Liam, who spent almost all of his time in the hospital wing, trying to support his friend. To his surprise, Tamara was there more often than not. She was extremely distraught by Ethan’s injuries, which was understandable, and Liam found himself being the one to comfort her. They two started to grow close and Liam found himself falling even more for the girl, though he couldn’t bring himself to say anything to her about it. She was dating his best friend!
After Ethan was out of the hospital wing, Tamara broke up with him. Liam found himself both elated and dismayed by that news. He was the reason they broke up, he knew it and he didn’t know what to do. Only days after her breakup with Ethan, the two spoke with one another and decided to date one another in secret until they figured out a way to tell Ethan. He knew it was wrong, but Liam couldn’t help himself. He wanted to be with her.
Before he could really feel too guilty about what was going on, Elaine attacked the school and killed his best friend, in front of Tamara, Dominique Weasley and himself. He was horrified by his friend’s death, and entirely unable to accept the reality of it.
Liam became even more introverted after that. He didn’t talk to many people, except for Tamara and Dominique, who had started dating Ethan after Tamara broke up with him. He was surprised about that, but not really at the same time. Dom had always been a close part of their group of friends.
Upon graduating, Liam joined the department of Mysteries, something he always wanted to do. It was a challenge and different and he liked the fact that people couldn’t ask him much about it. At the same time, he wanted to find something during his work that could help him exact revenge on Elaine Dupree. She killed his best friend and he would not forgive that. Ever.
After Tamara turned eighteen, they decided to let others know of their relationship with one another, going public. A year later, they are still deeply in love and Liam can’t imagine his life without her, no matter what all is going on in the world around them. As long as Tamara is by his side, Liam can face it.
He was given another blow when this last January, his parents both died. Liam read about it in the paper and instantly went to Hogwarts to talk to River about it. He knew that his brother would care more about their deaths than he did and he wanted to be there for him. He received none of the inheritance, which was no surprise to him. He abandoned his family years ago and was disinherited for that. Now, however, he had to worry about how this would affect his brother.
In the middle of may, the Durmstrang and Beuxbatons transportations home exploded and Liam knew that, once more, it was connected to Elaine Dupree. His hatred of the woman grew as he saw how many lives she was willing to destroy for her own happiness and he threw himself into his work harder than ever before, needing to discover something that could help.
