It was a bright, beautiful and warm July day in London, and Susan had the day off of work seeing as it was Saturday. Andy was off somewhere, and her siblings had other things to do, so Susan decided to spend her day at the London Zoo. It had been a long time since she had ventured into the zoo; she was curious how being an intern in the Magical Creatures department at the Ministry would change her perspective on zoos and animals in captivity. She knew from her relatives who were chairpeople of the Zoo Charity Foundation that they believed in ethical treatment of their animals, and that they couldn’t be released back into the wild. Susan wasn’t so sure on that last one, if she was being honest. She took the Tube up to the Zoo, a big floppy straw hat and sunglasses blocking her face from the public. She had nowhere near the notoriety of her darling older brother Will, but she still was recognized in the street from time to time. She gave up her seat for an elderly woman, holding onto the pole with the lightest of touch, making sure to swab her hands with Purell once she got off the tube. She paid the fare to get in; as a royal and a supporter of the zoo, she theoretically didn’t HAVE to pay, but she wanted to fly under the radar this visit. She made her way immediately towards the Butterfly paradise; although butterflies were so small, they were delicate and exotic in their own ways, which made Susan love them so much. If she had been paying attention as she walked towards the exhibit, she would have noticed someone familiar come up alongside her, but she was withdrawn into her own thoughts that until someone said hello, she had no idea she wasn’t alone. @lestrange

Andy had never been to the Zoo. Any Zoo. That wasn't really something her parents thought was worth their time. She hadn't done much at all simply for the pleasure of it, until growing close to Phil. She had Susan and Bay, of course, but she had never done anything just for herself. So, she took a trip to the zoo. She found herself in the butterfly greenhouse, and was focusing more on the plants than the actual butterflies. That's what she got for spending so much time with Phil, she figured. Everything in there reminded her of Phil, even the butterflies. Richard was hiding in her jacket pocket, peering out the buttonhole so he could see the sights. Andy was sure he wanted to jump on the beautiful plants and snuggle up with some pretty butterflies, but sadly he couldn't. She couldn't risk losing him to the staff thinking he was one of those stick bugs gone mad. Richard started pulling against her pocket, trying to guide her a certain way. Andy looked down at him as she walked, "what on earth is wrong with you-" she stopped, looking up, and laughed, "well, hello there," she said to Susan. @susanvictoria

Susan whipped around at the familiar voice and grinned broadly at her friend. “Well hello to you too! I thought you were busy today,” she said, happy to see Andy. She could see Richard the bowtruckle peering at her intently from Andy’s shirt pocket and she gave him the tiniest of nods to acknowledge she knew he was there. “I just love this zoo; it houses so many different animals and they treat them as humane as possible,” she explained. She gestured towards the doors leading out of the butterfly conservatory, and started walking out them and into the bright summer sunlight. “I’m going to be the official royal patron when I turn twenty-one, so sometimes I just come here to see how things are going,” Susan explained as they walked down one of the many paths. They came to a crossroads, and she pondered which exhibit to take Andy to. “Let’s take a trip to the land of the lions. They are the animal royalty of this park after all,” she suggested, taking the left fork and heading down to the lions enclosure. “They took inspiration from a national reserve in Asia, since these are Asian lions, to make them feel more at home,” Susan explained as they approached the area. The train that would take them to the man made forest was approaching, and Susan smiled triumphantly at their timing. “Shall we?” she asked, gesturing to the train. @lestrange

Andy frowned when Susan said she thought she was busy today. "I was supposed to be..." she was going to meet up with Phil, actually, but that didn't happen. At least she had Richard with her, even though Phil was going to take him home today. "Do you come here a lot?" she asked Susan when her friend mentioned how the zoo worked. "Patron, oh! Of here? Got it," that was pretty cool. She followed Susan toward the lions and Andy grinned, "you know me so well, Su," she chuckled. "Do the lions seem happy? I mean... the habitat sounds nice," she said. They arrived at the train and Andy nodded, climbing on. "Smallest train I've ever been on."@susanvictoria

Susan had a feeling that Andy’s plans had fallen through not of her own doing, and had an even bigger hunch who they had been with. Wisely, she decided not to bring up the recently graduated Gryffindor currently residing in the Leaky Cauldron; while Susan was curious to know what exactly the two exes had planned, it would appear that at the very least Andy had no idea. “I do yes, as much as I can. Of course, Hogwarts sort of got in the way during the school year, but thankfully it’s considered normal for children of aristocrats to go to boarding school,” she explained as the train lurched forward, taking them to their destination. “Now that I’m out of school I can fully take on the responsibilities of being patron, while still being able to work since the Ministry is based in London.”The train slowed to a stop and Susan marveled at the way the landscape had changed on the brief ride over to the Land of the Lions. “They took a design from an actual safari in Africa, to make the experience more realistic to the customers of the zoo,” she explained, nodding towards the abandoned looking buildings that were scattered amongst the street. “Come on, I know where one of them likes to lounge at this time of day,” she said excitedly, taking Andy’s hand and leading her towards a large banzai tree. Sure enough, a lioness was snoozing in the shade. “That’s Rubi, she’s normally pretty shy but she’ll come say hello sometimes,” she explained. The lioness opened one of her dark eyes, blinked over at Susan and went back to sleep. Susan chuckled; she couldn’t help but feel more of a connection now that she was a full fledged Animagus. “There’s also Heidi and Indi who are twins, and then Bhanu, the king if you will.” She pointed to where a male lion was sunbathing on a rock. “The king of Pride Rock, like in the Disney movie,” she added with a smile. @lestrange
