@aerick
There wasn’t much opportunity to mess around with her appearance or life story when she was back home – MACUSA only allowed changes to be made if they were pertinent to the job. Going undercover was Finn’s way of self-expression. Her idea was to come up with an alter-ego, which eventually evolved into Daisy the blonde-haired thief. There were times where she was disappointed in the somewhat naïve and dimwitted Daisy who was so innocent and always taken advantage of by the prospect of a quick buck. Finn enjoyed the blonde look but that had unfortunately been reserved for any Daisy activities, and thus decided to bounce back and forth between her natural dark brown and the obnoxious red that basically screamed at everyone she walked by. She only went with the latter if she really wanted to stick out.
“Ohh don’t joke about that,” Finn laughed. “I’m done trying to find kidnapped pizza shop owners. I’m sure they would try to put me on the case too. I’ve got the nose for it.” The prospect of sending her on the search for a missing pizza maker sounded like a terrible plot to a Scooby-Doo movie but also something MACUSA or the Ministry would send her on. Aerick said that a change of scenery was necessary at times, and Finn nodded her head in agreement. That was one of the reasons she was over here. Probably the same for him as well. There was nothing inherently wrong with home for her, yet she also felt like she had outgrown the city over the last few years. Eventually she would go back, but there were plenty of things to do in London and the rest of Europe until that time came.
Aerick began to describe what they had just ordered, causing Finn to close her eyes and imagine it. “They do not put gravy on it!” she laughed, the conglomeration of a pie with mushrooms and steak lathered in a thick gravy. This had to be one of the messiest things she was going to eat to date. It took only a few minutes for the food to be brought out and it was more ridiculous than she thought it would be. “Cheers,” she said, lifting her own drink up to Aerick’s but refusing to look away from the food. She wasn’t going to have to eat for the next day or so after putting all of this away.[End? Or soon?]
