Dom felt numb. It was strange because she hadn't felt this way in a long while, not since the days after Ethan died. Those days were torture. She didn't really remember much of them now, except for the empty feeling that nothing filled. Not doing things with friends, not eating or even crying. It took her almost a week after that to start feeling again. Sure, she had a hard time during school when he was gone, but she could still feel things then. Now the emptiness was back and Dom knew exactly why.
Uncle Harry was gone. She didn't know how it happened, didn't care really. She was tired of the attacks, tired of wondering who was next on the list of people who were dying. Her Uncle, the one who always seemed to know exactly how to proceed, who put up with her ridiculousness. Now he was gone and the emptiness was back. The only thing that seemed to take its place was anger. Anger at Elaine, who was destroying Dom's life little by little, tearing away the people she loved. She heard about the split in the Order of the Phoenix, but hadn't made a choice. Dom didn't trust her judgment right now. However, she did know one person she could trust. Vic.
Which was why she found herself in the Leaky Cauldron that night, waiting for her older sister. They were supposed to meet here and Dom wasn't exactly sure why, but she was glad she'd get to see her sister. Maybe Vic could help her somehow, or tell her what to do or think. She sat in the dark corner of a booth, staring out across the room and waiting, more patiently than she ever had before.

Victoire was a little... buzzed. That wasn't the best way to put it, but the right word was a little too unfortunate for her to think about. She was walking fast, jazzed up, occasionally laughing at nothing specific. She made her way to the Leaky Cauldron where she was meeting Dom and thank goodness she was. Dom was exactly the person she needed to talk to. Dom was smart, ambitious and driven. If Vic could get her on her side then Dom would be an insanely good asset. She knew everyone, and people liked her. Victoire wanted all of her cousins to understand where she was coming from, at least, but it would be better if they would all join her. Dom was the key to that. Dom was the key to her success. Dom was the key to getting involved with the kids at Hogwarts. Dom knew them, even if she had graduated. They looked up to her. She had a following. She was more likable than Vic, understandably. Dom. Was. The. Key. She saw her sister and laughed loudly, which was not something Victoire Weasley usually did. Victoire was well poised and well put together. Not today. Her hair was a bit ragged and she just wore a simple outfit, not her usual business casual and light colors. She crossed to Dom and sat down across from her, immediately speaking. "Harry is dead, Dom, and we can't just sit here and watch Elaine Dupree kill more people we love. It's time for her to pay," at least Vic was acting somewhat like herself - she didn't waste time. @dominique

Dom stared at her sister when she entered the place and made her way over to Dom. Vic looked ... like herself, but not at the same time. Dom was a little bit surprised by her clothes, to be entirely honest, not that she would say anything. She knew her older sister prided herself in her appearance.
Her eyes widened, then hardened as Vic spoke. She didn't expect her sister to go straight into the big stuff, but at the same time she wasn't very surprised. Vic was upset. So was she. At least Vic knew what they should do about it. Her heart throbbed when Vic mentioned not being able to sit there and watch Elaine kill people they loved. Exactly. She was done with losing people she cared about and tired of others having to do the same. She nodded to her sister, "I agree, but what do we do?" Her voice was hard and angry, but she was confident Vic would know that wasn't directed at her. It was directed at the witch who all but destroyed Dom's life a year ago and was having another go at it. "What do you need me to do?" Dom stared into her sister's eyes, ready for anything. She didn't care what. She couldn't sit around anymore and wait for more terrible things to happen. She wouldn't.

Dommi agreed, and Victoire grinned. Doms voice was harsh and strong, like a brick wall that was impossible to break through, layered and layered with bricks made of hurt and anger. Good. That was exactly what Victoire needed right now. Dom readjusted her question, asking what Victoire needed her to do. Victoire leaned forward. "The order is split, as I'm sure you've heard. I'm... taking charge of ending all of this by more... aggressive terms. Just dancing around singing Kumbaya isn't going to do anything. I'm going to find Elaine, and whoever else, and crush them myself," she reached her hands across to her sister. "I need you to help get people on our side. Talk to our cousins, your friends in school and out, whoever you can that you think you can get to fight with us. We can make a difference if we have enough numbers," yes, Victoire didn't even care if they were using kids at this point, teenagers. The other Order wouldn't for the sake of wanting to protect the youth, but Vic was past caring about that. @dominique

Dom noticed her sister's grin, but she didn't smile in response. She couldn't. She was too angry at everything. Her world was crashing down again. Uncle Harry was gone, Ethan was here, but not in the way she wanted and Elaine was ruining more and more lives every day. She listened intently as Vic started to explain what she wanted. She nodded curtly when her sister said she was going to crush Elaine. "Count me in," she said lowly, taking Vic's hands when she reached out to her. Her eyes narrowed when Vic said she wanted Dom to convince people to join them. Sure that was important, but ... "That's not enough, Vic. Of course, I'll talk to everyone I can, but you have to let me in." She looked into her sister's eyes, trying to convince her. "You can't leave me on the sidelines, recruiting people. I want to fight. I want to destroy Elaine for all that she's done to me. I need to be a part of this, not just talking to people. Promise me." She knew this wasn't really her place to order her sister around, and quite honestly revenge wasn't like Dom at all, but she didn't care. She had to be a big part of taking Elaine down. If Vic wouldn't let her, Dom would do it on her own. Hatred like she'd never known was flowing through her and she wanted to take action. She wouldn't just cry this time. She wanted to do something that mattered and would make a difference.

Dom said she was in and took Vic's hand, but then her terms came. Vic leaned forward, listening as intently as she could with the buzzing going on in her ears. Dom had a point and, for once, Vic was starting to agree with it. She nodded, gripping her sisters hand tightly. "I swear you'll be in this every bit as much as I am. You'll be my right hand, Dom. Anything I do, you do too," maybe she'd occasionally give Dominique the safer part of the mission, sure, but not as much as she used to. Dom was a woman now, as scary as that was to admit. Still, she was a woman on Vic's side and that mattered more than the little sister part. Dom was skilled, smart and cut out for this. She could be just as capable as Vic. Maybe even more in some cases. @dominique (End on yours?)

Vic was listening to Dom, leaning forward and obviously paying close attention. Dom was glad. She was tired of being treated like a child. After everything she'd been through, she felt like she deserved the chance to prove herself, which she didn't think most people would want to give her. They wanted to protect her instead. Ha. Like that was even possible in this world with Elaine in it. No one was safe. Her grip on Dom's hand tightened and Dom felt relief in her gut as Vic agreed. She didn't show that though. Over the last year she became quite adept at hiding her emotions and she didn't want Vic to see how nervous she was that her request would be rejected. She gave a tiny smile. "Thank you Vic. You won't regret this, I promise." She finally felt like she was going to do something worthwhile. They were going after Elaine. She could finally get her revenge. She took a breath and then relaxed a little. "You want to get some food? You look famished." The two stayed in the pub for a while, talking and planning while they ate. @victoire ---the end---
