@katie “Oh totally,” she grinned, flashing her teeth at Katie. “You can’t tell anyone, but I kind of wanted it to happen. My friend, he’s also one, talked it up a whole lot, and I asked him to give me a bite. Extremely dangerous, but that’s how I live my life,” Lily shrugged. She liked talking about herself. It was her favorite past time. And to see the shocked looks on people’s faces when she said she was a werewolf? Priceless. Technically she was supposed to use caution when blabbering on about it, but people were going to find out eventually. Getting locked up in the castle’s basement monthly and hanging out with all the Greyback kids kind of gave it away. Either that or they thought she was crazy cozying up to them. Lily liked to think she was crazy with or without them. “I’m sure there are supposed to be wards, but that had to be decades ago by now. And if the werewolf was a good little doggy and took their Wolfsbane, then it was probably harmless. Personally, I hate the taste of it. But I get why we have to take it,” she rolled her eyes for effect. If she had known it was going to make her drowsy and prevent her from really letting herself loose, then she probably would have waited to get turned until after school. There were too many eyes on her now, and escaping from the castle to run free in the woods always pissed them off. She didn’t really care what they thought. There was a reason students weren’t allowed in the woods after dark and had a curfew to stay in their common rooms. It wasn’t necessarily her fault if her werewolf did something to one of them at that point.
But on to happier things! Like the Halloween party and the Shack itself. “It’s great. Last year’s was super awesome, and it was really hard to get anything done with all the security from the tournament lurking around. Pretty sure some of the younger Aurors joined in on the fun too.” She kind of forgot, since there had been a few pretty awesome parties since and a lot of other things in between. “Isn’t it? I’d buy the place if I had the money. A little fixing up is all she needs.” Dragging her finger along the doorknob to the bedroom, a thick layer of dust came off on it. “And maybe one of those feather-duster things. Anyways!” she spun around on her heels to face to door opposite the bedroom, giving the handle a hard twist, “This is supposed to be the guest bedroom, but it looks like the door might be stuck,” Lily laughed, putting her shoulder into it, hard. It refused to budge. “Guess we’ll come back to that one. Any questions?”

Lily said she wanted to be a wolf and that she had actually asked someone to bite her. Katherine tried not to show her shock by letting her jaw drop or anything, but some of it probably gave away in her eyes. "As long as you're happy, I guess," she suggested with a shrug, but she definitely decided this girl was slightly insane. Lily said that there were probably wards on the house but now they were gone and that the wolf was probably harmless. "What does it taste like?" Katherine questioned. It wasn't something she'd ever take so she may as well cultivate her curiosity on the subject. Potions was basically science, after all, so of course Katherine was into it. Lily said the Halloween party was awesome last year and Katherine just nodded, taking in the words. The tournament must have thrown the school for a leap, for sure. "I'm sure you'll be able to buy it eventually if you set your mind to it," Katherine encouraged. She believed in the power of taking things into your own hands. Fate was a garbage concept. "Definitely needs that," Katherine added about the feather duster. Then the door wouldn't open that Lily tried and Katherine stepped up to it. "I mean, we could always blow it up," she only half meant it. "Or we can wait til you buy it so we don't get arrested for property damage."lily luna potter

@katie The look Katie had in her eyes was all Lily needed to see to know that she had tapped the girl’s wariness. Lily knew she was crazy at times (or most of the time when it came to the parties involved), and to her, being turned was another one of her Lily-things. Nobody else was able to replicate what she did, and despite a lot of her choices erring on the poor end of the decision making process, she still retained her own individuality from it. People could talk all they wanted about Harry Potter’s uncontrollable werewolf child; she was still herself and that was all that mattered to her. “Not the greatest,” she answered, scrunching her lips up in disgust. “And we have to take it for the week leading up to the full moon too, so yeah…you get used to it I guess.”
Lily had contemplated Katie’s idea of breaking down the door, but that would directly contradict her plans to buy the shack. She wanted to do as little work as possible to it when she eventually bought it – going around blasting doors and walls down just to see a little old room wasn’t the best way to mitigate the shack’s damages down the road. Plus there was no telling how structurally safe the place was anymore. She never had any problems running through the rooms, slamming the doors behind her, but wear and tear would catch up eventually, and an entire house falling on top of her was something even she couldn’t escape from. “It’s totally not a me thing, but I’d rather wait on destroying it. I like having it as one of my hideouts at school.” The other two being the woods on the full moon and the Room of Requirement. Both provided her with exactly what she needed as both witch and werewolf, and the shack was basically the adopted child of the two. Secluded, sort of dangerous, and a way for her to maintain the ‘shrieking’ reputation as a wolf perfectly fit her idea of fun.

Lily admitted that the potion didn't have the greatest taste, which didn't surprise Katherine one bit. She said they had to take it for a week each month, and that they just got used to it. Katherine's brows scrunched together, "I wonder if any potioneers have bothered trying to improve the taste without messing up the formula. May be something worth looking into. I'm sure being a werewolf has enough miserable moments," she suggested, her mind already started to rummage through plants and things she knew of that could perhaps improve taste without doing much else. It wasn't easy, every ingredient had a purpose. She was a scientist though and a mathmetician. Perhaps she could come up with something. Not that she was all about helping people, but it did sound like a challenge. Lily suggested that they wait on destroying it, even though she admitted that wasn't like her to say. She said that she liked having the shack as one of her hide outs and Katherine grew more interested. "One of them?" She hoped to find hideouts of her own, if not only for the purpose of having somewhere to whisk Lance off to at a moments notice. She knew those places at Ilvermorny - it would be a task of skill to find all the ones at Hogwarts with much less time on her hands. lily luna potter

@katie Lily stared at Katie, mouth hanging open at the mere mention of being miserable as a werewolf. “You’re misinformed missy. Being a werewolf is freaking awesome. All the ones that grumble about it are losers and aren’t worth your time.” The ones she was talking about specifically were probably the same ones that didn’t have a choice. They were turned maliciously or as infants, unable to ever know what life was without being a werewolf. Lily Potter had the first fifteen years of her life as a normal, boring human, but now she knew what real power and energy was. There was nothing else like it out there in her opinion, and she wouldn’t get rid of it even if she had the chance to do so. “Sure, the potions taste bleh and transforming can hurt a bit, but it’s so awesome after it’s all done.”
She winked at the other girl, and mimicked zipping her lips as she passed by her, heading back down the hallway and skipping lightly down the stairs. The step floorboards creaked in a manner that made it sound like they could snap at any second, even with how light she was. “Maybe I’ll show you one or two of them once school starts up,” Lily teased. She hopped over to the front door of the shack and whipped it open, letting the summer air wipe the dampness of the rickety building off of her. “But you’ll have to remind me first because I’ll totally forget. See ya!” Giving Katie a goofy grin and a wave, Lily jumped off of the front porch and ran back through the spot in the fence they had entered by, heading back towards town.
