His words hit her like a bullet. Everyone else in his life had left him and never came back. She knew that. She had known about most of it. She knew about all the drama, at least what he had told her about, she was sure that there was more that she wasn’t yet allowed to know, but she knew, for the most part, that this sort of thing had happened before. She supposed that he had a point. But that didn’t make her want to change her mind. “Okay.” she whispered, giving in but still feeling a little stubborn about the whole thing. “You make a valid point. I guess I didn’t know what was going to happen to us when I came back either…” she kept having those nightmares that he had forgotten all about her and now was happily in love with Adonia, like it should have been, her brain kept telling her. “I didn’t know what I was coming back to.” she wasn’t going to tell him that the thought that crossed her mind to not come back at all. She had worked it all up in her head that he didn’t want her around. Staying in America, for a second, seemed easier than having to rejoin her world.
Brandon told her that he had kissed Adonia once before the two of them started dating, Rosie nodded, it was a surprise to hear about their previous encounter, especially since she wondered when that happened along the same timeline as her being sent to the hospital wing at the hand of the other girl. But Rosie tried not to dwell on it. Brandon hadn’t done anything wrong by kissing Adonia before they were dating, and even though it was poorly timed information, she nodded her head, accepting the fact that it had happened. Though, now more than ever, she felt like she had gotten in their way. He told her that Adonia was moving to America and Rosie felt a bit of a weight lift off of her, though she wasn’t going to react that was in front of Brandon, she didn’t want to seem like she completely hated the girl, even though she was pretty sure that she did. “You-you love me?” she asked in a whisper.

After a few seconds of sitting in silence, Brandon turned to look at Rosie. She didn't seem as angry anymore, did she? She said his point was valid and he nodded. He wasn't sure what that meant. Was she still angry at him? It didn't seem so, but he didn't know what to say anymore. His stomach was in knots as he waited to see what she would say. Was she going to forgive him or not? She didn't say and the anxiety was eating at him. Was he going to lose Rosie now, for being an idiot? If he did lose her this time, he'd only have himself to blame. He didn't trust her. She didn't seem angry when he said he'd kissed Adonia before, something that he was extremely grateful for. He felt a tiny bubble of hope start to rise within him. She asked if he loved her and Brandon smiled, running his thumb over her cheek gently. "I do. I love you Rosie. I'm sorry for everything, for making you feel unwanted. I love you and I want you with me. Please?" He wasn't asking a real question, but Brandon hoped he'd understand the question behind his words. Please don't leave me. Please love me back. Please trust me; I'm yours. rose harriet granger-weasley

He loved her. It was that simple. After their little yelling match, after all the confusion and drama and miscommunication it was over, or, at least it felt over. Rosie had even less experience fighting with a boy than she did being in a relationship with a boy, so she didn’t really know what the norm was surrounding these things. He had kissed another girl, but, she had ran out on him and didn’t give him much to go off of. She never told him when she was coming back… or if she was even coming back, and she knew that she should have, it had just escaped her mind to do so. In the moment, she had assumed that he would know she wouldn’t go away forever. But so much had changed over the trip for her, before she left, she never would have thought that the idea to just stay and never go back would even cross her mind.
Rosie looked at him, his eyes begging her for some sort of answer. She was still mad, but her anger seemed a world away as he said that he loved her. It seemed like a different conversation at a different time, not one that had just blown up in the living room of his flat. She was glad, at least, that his roommate wasn’t home to hear them fight. “I love you.” she nodded. She tilted her head up and kissed him, feeling herself melt into him. There she was, in the place that she belonged.
