@katie 09.04.2024 No, it wasn’t a bad thing that it was just the two of them alone in the bathroom. Their two sentences put together in any other situation with anyone else, and Lance would have been handing out detentions to the culprits. Funny how the rules bent based on the circumstance and whether or not he felt like following them. To him, the embarrassment of being caught and the potential rumor mill that followed was far worse than a detention and deduction of house points. Even though he knew they were fine where they were, the thought still nagged at him, tugging every so often from the back to try and seem important. Katherine’s question and subsequent motion of pulling him even closer made him stop, his face still hovering close to her neck as he thought it over, albeit quickly. Trying to think when he could hear his heartbeat reverberating in his head was tough. Being nervous wasn’t really his thing, the confidence he exuberated was why he always found it easy to get along with others. Katherine seemed to take that and flip it on its head every single time he was with her. It scared him, but in the good way. He was fine with how things were progressing, and figured she wouldn’t have asked if she wasn’t. Realizing he had been holding his breath, Lance pulled his head back so he could look at her. “Well I’m not a quitter…” Lance trailed off, smiling a bit at her. He navigated his wand out of his robe pocket, and pointed it at the door, “Colloportus.” As the audible click echoed from across the room, Lance set the wand on the back of one of the nearby sinks he could reach. “Does that answer your question?”[ur turn]

Lance was quiet for a moment after she asked her question and a part of her panicked slightly. Was he going to refuse her offer? Well, maybe the offer wasn't clear, since she didn't outright say that she wanted them to stay there together. Maybe he was trying to think of a way to say no to her - but he didn't. He pulled back, and she tightened her grip with her hands slightly as he did so. He looked at her, and she looked at him - now she was the one holding her breath. "Well I'm not a quitter," he said, and that smile danced across his lips. She smiled too but, as per habit, tried to stop it from coming out. Her normal tactic of trying for a straight face didn't work, so she bit down on her lip to try and stop the smile instead. That also didn't work, especially since the door locks clicked shut at his command and she felt a rush of energy surge through her entire body. He sent his wand aside, asking if that answered her question. Her hands traced him up to his shoulders, then his face and, for a moment, she looked at him with the most genuine look she had ever given anyone. "I think it answers more than one," she answered, and then she was kissing him again, breathing in through her nose so that she should keep her lips on his as long as possible. lancelot ray linley (UR turn >])

@katie 09.04.2024 There was the smile again! It took a little coaxing to get Katherine to show it at times – he had learned that over the summer and then on the train. Obviously there had been something wrong a few minutes ago, when they had been standing outside of the bathroom, but that seemed to be gone now. All he needed to bring her smile out was his own, with the addition of a few words. They were probably both thinking the same thing anyways, and watching her realize that he was down with whatever was the sign he was looking for. She couldn’t hide everything despite trying to. Lance had figured that out quickly. Katherine put up a wall, and he felt like he was one of the ones that was allowed to the other side. Not always, because that would be too easy. He believed that her smile was akin to breaking through, and anything she said or did before was from the wall she put up. There was nothing wrong with being guarded. Sometimes he wondered if he should be that way a little more. But not today. There weren’t any walls allowed right now. He certainly wasn’t going to be throwing any blocks up after going through with locking the door and tossing his wand off to the side. The time for that was long past by now. Katherine’s hands found their way back to his face and she said that he answered more than one of her questions. He knew it would, that was why he did it. She was kissing him again and he remembered that none of that mattered anymore, and probably wouldn’t again, until they left the second floor bathroom far behind them. For now, he was concentrating on being a little less perfect. [FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADE]

Katherine was definitely a bit surprised at Lance right now. Sure they had made out plenty of times, but he was always such a gentleman that a part of her didn't expect him to be okay with doing anything more than that. But he clearly really liked her, for whatever reason, and she couldn't deny the fact that she liked him - more than she had liked any of her exes, really. Not that they weren't fun to be around too, but Lance was just a different kind of person. She hadn't really dated anyone like him, so it was a nice breath of fresh air. Katherine always had her walls up, sure, but in the past she hadn't been as cautious with physical walls. It was the emotional ones that she didn't take down for anyone else. But, somehow, Lance had gotten through to her. It made the whole experience entirely different than she'd experienced before, and she had to admit to herself that it was much better to be close to someone who actually could make her smile. lancelot ray linley(the end lololol wasn't sure if yours counted as 'the end' or not. :> Christmas here we come.)
