HAUNTED HOGWARTS
HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY TO ALOHOMORA! To celebrate, a committee was put together to plan a Halloween event called 'Haunted Hogwarts!' The students of Hogwarts put together this event for the adults of the wizarding world to come enjoy the night before Halloween. Come enjoy several different events (descriptions will be posted below!) and enjoy! Make your own threads in this board! At the entrance to Hogwarts grounds all guests must go through a security check. Various paintings throughout the castle have been replaced with still versions, or versions where just the eyes follow. Muggleborn students found this idea amusing, especially when seeing how their full magical blooded friends reacted to the pictures not responding to them. Talk about spooky! Please feel free to sign up IC for in character volunteer work in the event and *please reference this list to note anyone IC in the different areas. Be sure talk to the players about specific interactions*.Also, remember, the ADULTS are the guests here! Students all either helped set up or are volunteering during the vent. Or slacked off, like I know some of you did. IC the event starts the evening of October 30th to 2AM Oct. 31st. For IC and OOC reference, here is the committee that put this all together!:Chanel with Jameson Hera Blishwick @rissy with @peytonbainbridge @lina with @zita @kierra with @jace COLIN! with lily luna potter SUZIE with @addilyn mod audrey with kaylee māhealani mahi'ai Other TJ with @crimson1 Haunted Hogwarts Events:Spiderweb Maze Location: Staircases to Astronomy Tower Headless Hunt watch party Location: The Dungeons Muggle-style escape room Location: Room of Requirement Fear Factor Location: Transfiguration Classroom “Stand the Mandrake” Location: Greenhouses Haunted Bathroom Location: Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom Banquet Room Location: Great Hall Scary movie room Location: Muggle Studies Classroom Headless Hunt watch party Location: The Dungeons Monster Tunnel ride Location: Dungeons

HEADLESS HUNT WATCH PARTY
Inviting a group of headless ghosts to a Hogwarts event sounded as though it would be more complicated, but Kaylee was pleased to find that the Headless Hunt was very receptive of the invitation to perform at Haunted Hogwarts. Sir Patrick Delaney-Podmore responded enthusiastically, so all that was left to do was prepare the space.
Having gone with one of the roomier dungeons of the castle as the location for the Headless Hunt’s performance, there wasn’t much else to do except place some raised, tiered seating on either side of the room so as to make the space in between as rectangular as possible, then add some clear partitions on either side so that people could come and go as necessary.
The Headless Hunt was scheduled to play Head Polo for the duration of the night, interspersed with acts of Horseback Head-Juggling. It was sure to be entertaining, if not a little macabre, as Kaylee had witnessed for herself when a few of the members demonstrated what juggling one’s head actually looked like. (It didn’t help that the room was chilly, considering the presence of so many ghosts.)
With just a few minutes before the first attendees would likely arrive, Kaylee ensured that the ghosts had everything they needed. She also secured scheduling reminders to the entrance for the attendees, including a note to find her or any of the other Haunted Hogwarts volunteers if they had any questions.

SPIDERWEB STAIR MAZE
Starting at the bottom of the Hogwarts Gran Staircase is a maze built from Spider webs, designed to go up through the moving staircases and finishing at the top of the Astronomy tower.
As you go through the maze you will encounter a number of obstacles and challenges. Student volunteers and ghosts are placed throughout to give you riddles and try to trick you into going the wrong direction under the guise of being helpful. On the stair landing to the fifth floor is a mini Whomping Willow replica, designed to send you off course with it's terrifying branch swings and spooky appearance. There are also two boggarts placed in the maze, with Hogwarts staff hiding nearby to maintain them if need be.
Throughout the maze you will be tested with spooky sights, scary sounds and even the occasional apparition of something you can't quite make out. Holographic type magical images are laced through of different creatures, all meant to throw you off the path.
If you do make it to the astronomy tower at the end, a celebration of star-gazing and Halloween music awaits you. Enjoy a pumpkin carving station, and a guide will lead you to the rest of the Haunted Hogwarts event through a different route back down when you are finished. Enjoy, and don't get lost!

SCARY MOVIE ROOM
The Muggle Studies room is decked out with traditional Halloween decorations. The walls have cobwebs with fake spiders hanging down from them and jack-o-lanterns in the corners. The room has heavy curtains covering any windows and is very dark with a projector at the front. Tons of bean bags of all sizes cover the floor and once a movie is on, the volume is turned up really loud. At the back of the room is a table with classic movie treats like licorice, popcorn (buttered, caramel, etc.), all sorts of muggle candies (milk duds, skittles, sour patch), and punch, along with some wizard treats like pumpkin pasties and bertie botts every flavored beans. All sorts of movies are provided, to be played upon request. Movies like: Frankenstein, Dracula, The Sixth Sense, Paranormal Activity, The Adam’s Family, etc.

MUGGLE-STYLE ESCAPE ROOM
The Room of Requirement was the perfect place for an escape room, mainly because it created the room into whatever you imaged. It meant that the people working on it didn’t have much to do, other than hiding clues and placing objects with hints inside. The moment the door opens you are welcomed with a dark room, but slowly the light comes to life to reveal an old living room. The dust is clear; cobwebs littered the dusty couch in the center and all around the room. However, before you can go any further, you must place your wand in the safe to your left upon entering. Once all the wands are placed inside, it closes, and the green light turns red, revealing it has locked. The key of the game is not only to get out the door you just entered, which has locked behind you and has a pad-code placed on the handle, where you have to enter numbers to release it, but you also have to unlock the safe to retrieve your wands. The safe looks like an old phone’s numbers, where you have to twirl the numbers to land on the correct numbers to unlock it.
Moving forward, before the couch is a little table where a briefcase is sat, it doesn’t look locked and can be opened. If you look forward, a dusty fireplace with cobwebs lies before you. To your left is a door that must be unlocked with clues within the room, to your left is a bookcase with some books sat upon it. Once you open the briefcase, a paper is inside as well as a key, the very key you need to open the door to your left. The piece of paper is the story behind this house, a handwritten letter from the owner of the house. It reads:
“Dear Traveler,
Now that you have entered the house, you will be trapped here forever. I have done this in fear of you stealing my research and selling it to my enemy. Through each room is terror and clues to obtain my research, but only if you are smart enough to pay attention. You may have noticed that the door locked behind you once you entered, it will not be unlocked until you have found my research and thus, the clue to opening this door. Pay close attention to the rooms around you, ignoring anything will result in you being locked forever in my dark home.
Good luck, your hour beings now…
Signed ~ Doctor Martin.”
With the key in hand, you can enter the next room, and once open; you are welcomed by the sight of a dining room table and a messy looking kitchen through a little window. Throughout this room, there are few clues, including fine dusty china sitting on the table with unlit candles. There are wine glasses, glass mugs, glass plates, forks, knives, and even spoons seated upon the table. Beneath each glass mug are different numbers, make sure to write those down. Once you walk through the little opening next to another locked door, you enter the kitchen. It’s small, but there is a small fridge, a stove, and a sink. There is also, seated on the counter, a bowl of dusty and moldy looking fruit. If you move the fruit around a bit, you will find a slip of paper with an old blurry ripped picture of a man in a lab coat with his arm around someone, but because the photo is ripped, you can’t tell. If you flip it over one name is visible that says “Doctor Martin” the other is smudged. If you go inside the fridge, you’ll find a tray with another key and a slip of paper. The paper reads, “Find the photo and learn the name,” which seems vague but if you checked the fruit bowl, you should have found part of the photo.
Now able to open the door, you can enter into the next room, which is a bedroom. Looking around you see a bed, a dresser, and two doors on either side of the room. The one on the right is unlocked, and the one on the left is locked. On the dresser, you can see picture frames of the same guy from the ripped photo. Going through the drawers are other clues, including the other half of the photo. You also found a journal of Doctor Martin himself, one which reveals the name of his partner turned enemy, “Doctor Joyce” which was also his wife. If you go towards the unlocked door, it reveals nothing but a brick wall. But you can notice that the bricks look moveable, moving one of them reveals another key, but it’s broken. Is this the key you need to enter the other room? Perhaps, but look around some more. You’ll find the other piece under the bed, along with another unbroken key. Now you can unlock the door.
Entering the last room, you find yourself in a scientist's lab, with a desk before you that holds pictures, vials and other things. There is also a candle seated on the desk with a lighter. If you turn out the lights and light the candle with the lighter, you can see numbers littered around the room. Is it the number for the front door or the safe? Or is it for the safe seated within the chamber you are currently in? Try it on the safe in the current room, and it unlocks, revealing another notebook and a vial. You have successfully obtained his research and the product of such. Now you must attempt to get out.
If you remember there was another candle in the dining room that you can light. If you do so, it reveals the name Joyce being that of numbers you need for a door. Perhaps the front door? Do you remember the numbers on the mug, is that the safe?
Can you escape the room?

placeholder descriptions (not by me, will be posted by their writers later) MONSTER TUNNEL RIDE
The dungeons have become the new home to a horribly wicked tunnel ride, the likes of which will scare your socks off! Terrible things lurk around every corner, and your imagination will decide your experience.
Guests will take their place in this haunt aboard a small cart and taken throughout the dungeons, certain portions of the track charmed to react to their surroundings. An amalgamation of groaning ghouls, props, and boggarts lay in wait for those that dare to enter.

FEAR FACTOR
The Transfiguration room, a room of constant change due to spells (and professors) has changed once more. This time an ill wind has blown that caused these changes. The normally happy bright windows that allowed light to fill the room are gone, replaced by creepy stained glass images and cob webs. Once littered with desks and chairs those have been replaced by spooky looking boxes and doors. The air is no longer friendly and warm but dark, cold and almost unwelcoming. Each box and door is a challenge to scare or creep the visitors out and sometimes even both. Will you accept whatever food might be in one of the boxes. You could get lucky and it’s a sweet treat or some edible moving bugs. A nice snack or the worse flavor of Bertie Bott’s imaginable. How about one of the doors which might just lead to your greatest fear? In this room you won’t know what’s safe or not but will you chicken out? How long can you last, which one of your group will be the first to give up and cry home to mommy? Come find out now!

HAUNTED BATHROOM
Those you dare, beware. For, if on this fated Halloween you take a wrong turn and find yourself in need of relief, the second floor girl’s lavatory is certainly not the place to seek refuge. But, if the defiant decide to tread they might find the infamous figure Moaning Myrtle breathing down the back of their neck. If you’re lucky enough, she may even regale you with the gory details of her tragic demise. Some say it changes with every turn around. However, those who dare snicker or simply catch her on a bad turn just might find themselves the victim of a bloody toilet spray. Taps are prone to gaping spouts, stall doors slamming with a hungry ferocity, and watch your step! Some puddles have an odd, murky tendency of growing in rapid depth… Wouldn’t want to lose your footing…
BANQUET FEAST
At Hogwarts, we eat well no matter the time of year! This Halloween, feast your eyes on the goriest, most delicious display known to man. Roll up your sleeves, find a seat and don’t be discouraged by what you see! Nothing bites… any more… Slurp some of our delightful, slithering bowls of worm-like spaghetti; did it move or were your eyes playing tricks on you? Or, perhaps you’d prefer to bob for a giant’s eyeball with the sticky crunch of a toffee apple? And don’t forget, our sand-witch fingers are the best around! Their manicured tips a sharp, bloody red. And to wash it all down, our drink of the night; Butter Beard might be our most delicious concoction yet. And no, that wasn’t a spelling mistake, folks… What was once a foamy top is now the curling beard of an unforgettable beverage. With every sip you’ll find your tankard overcome by what appears to be hair. Not to worry though, nobody’s choked yet...

STAND THE MANDRAKE
Perhaps you prefer your scares to have a little bit of competition to them? Enter into the Greenhouses for a little bit of mandrake madness and see if you’re able to withstand the horrifying and notably nauseating screams of the infamous infant greenery. Students will enter into the darkened greenhouses in groups of 5 where they will face off in a test of resilience. It won’t seem as if anything has really changed in the area, rows and rows of plants still line the area in long lengths but… wait. Didn’t you already pass that plant? You will realize that you don’t quite know where you actually are in the greenhouse. And then that’s when it will happen. The cry of the Mandrake will be sounded off around the room at increasing lengths and volumes, accompanied by the sudden appearances of fake mandrakes to enhance the experience. If you faint you will, unfortunately, be eliminated from the contest and ejected from the greenhouse. The last student able to maintain their wits about them will emerge victorious!
Please note: There are professors and and the school nurse on standby to assist with any severe cases of fainting!
