After mentioning the contraband closet Callisto insisted he didn’t encourage her. That was followed by Mina repeating after her sister and reminding him he was suppose to be taking Callisto’s side. “Sorry it just slipped I suppose.” Shawn explained jokingly as he wasn’t so much encouraging they raided it but the idea was out there now. Callisto wouldn’t let that happen and as a professor he should have been a hundred percent against it immediately. Yet he was who he was and instead saw the fun in it first and foremost.
As they began to walk Callisto took his hand and replied to his comment about her being dressed as an angel. He just laughed for a moment as she shock her head ever so slightly but he was used to the head movement from plenty of people in his life as well as rolled eyes. “I would hope so,” Shawn replied with another laugh before continuing. “Everyone else is allowed to think it though and I’m sure they do.” Callisto was a beautiful woman after all so plenty of people would think so. Rory asked what might be going on and explained that he knew the students had set up a few things. “Yeah and if the idea of the students just setting something up isn’t scary enough for you some of it is suppose to be scary too.” Shawn laughed poking some light fun at the students of the school. None of them were bad enough to remember by name for anything at the moment but it was still funny.
Everyone had seemed to decided that getting food first would be best and Shawn couldn’t disagree. “Food it is, even if I was going to disagree it would be three to one.” Shawn explained while they walked toward the castle. “It should be in the great hall and it was mostly made by the house elves I believe even if it’s suppose to be spooky food. So no one should die from it.” Shawn teased knowing it would be safe anyway.

Mina agreed that she shouldn't be encouraged and Shawn said that the comment had 'just slipped out'. "Well, do not confirm whether or not this closet is real and I'll forgive you," she said. She doubted it was but... Professors had to get through the day somehow, right? And as much as Callisto pretended she was completely against alcohol, anyone who knew her well would know that she always had a glass of wine upon return home from work. Sometimes even more than one glass of wine. And the people in this group would know her well enough to know that, and they all had seen 'drunk Callisto' that one time at least... Shawn said that everyone else was allowed to THINK Cal was an angel, but agreed that he was the only person who would say it. "Alright, alright," Callisto just agreed, not wanting to have an entirely adorable 'argument' in front of her sister. Rory was fine, but Mina would tease her relentlessly if she heard their conversation clearly. Rory spoke about what was happening and Shawn made the comment about it being prepared by the students being scary enough. "I mean, hopefully the magical bits were supervised," Callisto said, nodding at Rory to encourage him as well. Rory agreed that they could start with food, Mina did because of the possibility of wine, of course, and Shawn followed suit. He mentioned the House Elves could have made it and Cal nodded, "I'm sure it's delicious. The elves here have a gift," she complimented, walking toward the Great Hall. shawn lesley ashcroftmina pandora oliveira@rory

Rory simply watched as the three talked about the possibility of the contraband closet. Apparently it would be a very bad idea if Mina found it, assuming it existed, but Rory wasn't entirely certain why. He'd only met her once before though, so he decided to just wait and see what was going to go along today. Listening to Shawn and Callisto argue with one another was kind of sickeningly sweet. Like, it made Rory wish that he had someone he was dating or someone he knew well enough to be able to tease like that. But he didn't and in all honesty he was pretty happy with where he was in life right now. Sure, there was always room for getting to know more people and branching out, but he wasn't upset. He nodded, listening as Shawn explained that the students designed the whole thing. Rory snorted, "Well then, I guess we're probably in for a few surprises, even if they're not really scary, right?" He didn't really think they would be able to scare him, but Rory was interested to see what kinds of things were here. He entered the Great Hall and made his way to the table, chuckling at what he saw. The food was definitely designed for Halloween, with sandwiches that looked like fingers with bloody tips, spaghetti that was moving around. Obviously, the students (and probably the house elves as well) had a lot of fun with this. He took one of the sandwich fingers, holding it up to his friends. "Looks about how I'd expect. Wonder how it tastes," he commented before taking a bite. mina pandora oliveira shawn lesley ashcroft @callisto

10.30.2024 Gross. Callisto being all lovey dovey was really gross. It was so far from how she normally acted that it made Mina’s skin crawl. She could get this way with Sebastian, but it wasn’t this. Where was her sister that lacked compassion and barked back all the time? If that was what love did, Mina didn’t want any of it. She was fine with the drunken one-night stands and only loving her dog. As for the hidden liquor cabinet somewhere in the castle, she was sure she would eventually find it if she pressured Shawn enough (although it seemed he was just as interested in breaking into it as she was) behind her sister’s back. What Callisto didn’t know didn’t hurt her, and there were a lot of things Callisto didn’t know.
Dropping a few steps behind the other three so she could take in the decorations around the castle on the walk over to the Great Hall, Mina heard snippets of their conversation about the events the students had put on. All she wanted to do was eat, potentially raid the secret booze room, and fine Isabel so she could embarrass her in front of her friends. That wasn’t much to ask for. “Cal, you don’t happen to know which thingy Izzy is at, do you?” Mina asked as the group entered the Great Hall and moved closer to the tables of food. Rory went straight for sandwiches that looked like fingers and she grimaced as he took a bite. “How do you not think twice about that? Especially with working at the hospital…” There weren’t many limits on what she would eat or drink, but the sandwiches made her stomach churn in a way she had never felt it do before. Scanning the table quickly, she spotted a bowl of something, a sign stuck to the front labeled ‘Eye Scream’. She liked ice cream well enough and the pun tickled her the right way, so she peered into it, only to be met with what looked like eyeballs inside the ice cream staring right back at her. “They really didn’t hold back. Look at this Cal,” she said, picking two of the eyeballs out of the bowl and holding them in front of her own eyes. “Brings a whole new definition to being called four-eyes.”

Shawn laughed for a moment as they spoke about the contraband closet. It did indeed exist in a way. Items that weren’t awful enough to be destroyed or had some value that would be returned to the family. Callisto explained that as long as he didn’t confirm it was real to Mina she would forgive him. As funny as it would be to watch Mina attempt to search the school looking for it he decided this deal was still better. “I Shawn Ashcroft can neither deny nor confirm this closet exists.” He spoke as if on some court chair or on a trial.
The idea of the students putting something together was an exciting prospect for Shawn. Yet there was always that part that was expecting something to happen like a prank or a scare. He knew some students would do something like that because he had been just that student while he was at school. He wouldn’t had been trusted to put anything together like any of the Halloween events and Shawn understood that. “Yeah lets just hope we get to leave with all our fingers and toes.” He replied to Rory with a laugh, “we do have two amazing healers with us so I think we’ll be okay.” Callisto suggested that at least the parts that required magic must have been supervised. “Yeah they were but that doesn’t keep a few talented students from leaving some surprises.”
They proceeded on to the great hall to get something to eat. If anything it would be the safest part of the Halloween event unless the food was bad of course. Once in the great hall they went to check out the food. The students had done an excellent job with it as Shawn could tell. “Heh, finger food.” He laughed a little as that was the suggestion for what they could make and they had actually made sandwiches that looked like fingers. Mina had found one food that when she had it looked just like eye balls. Almost a little too spot on for Shawn’s taste to eat but it was still entertaining. “Playing with our food are we? Because it looks like fun.”

Shawn did not confirm nor deny the closet, literally saying so, and Callisto let it be. He also confirmed that the students were indeed supervised on the creation of the events but Cal nodded as Rory and Shawn agreed there were some surprises coming. Then Mina asked if she knew where Izzy was and Cal shook her head, "No idea. I'm she she'll come out and scare us at any time. Just stay on tour tows," she suggested, eyeing the Great Hall with suspicion as if Izzy were already there. Rory went for a sandwich, which mina questioned, and then Mina held up a lovely eyeball display. Callisto raised an eyebrow. "Lovely. Alright, I'm sure it'd all edible." she sat down promptly, surveying the strange food and then glancing up at others in the room who were laughing and sifting their way through it. Now she DID wish they'd find that closet. She could use a glass of wine. It was going to be a long night. shawn lesley ashcroft @rory mina pandora oliveira(Let's call this the end.
