A chuckle left her lips while an unsteady smile rested there. Dana was glad that Liam would listen to her rambles about space – as the next person would roll their eyes, humming at every word the Knox would say without paying attention. But bringing up Lars led to Dana feeling…uncomfortable. Quiet. Dana’s blue eyes couldn’t help but wonder off around the dark café, looking for the nearby window and examining the dull outside that was Diagon Alley itself. When the topic came to Lars, Dana would usually talk for hours about him but this time: the blonde remained quiet. ”There’s nothing to…Talk about.” she murmured, picking up her large mug – swirling the contents of the now-warm-latte. But Dana couldn’t help and add in: ”I went there to find him, he wasn’t there. That’s it.”
Shrugging, Dana knew that the awkward person that Liam was usually found it difficult to sympathise for others, as he would usually stay quiet during tough moments. But grown up, mature Liam seemed to care just enough. Her unsteady smile raised into a soft one, her blue eyes looking back at his own. ”It’s okay. Thank you for caring.” From the time the two spent apart, Dana could see a change in him. Her lips opened once more to let words out, but the sound of a quiet alarm prevented her from doing so.
The first quiet alarm soon turned into two, resulting with the Knox pulling out her own phone – noticing the time and how it flew by. Then again, her research centre wasn’t too far. ”Time really flies huh?” She questioned, drinking the last amount of her beverage. ”I was going to ask about Tamara and the fancy dates you two have surely been on. We could discuss it while walking or leave it for next time?” Since the two worked nearby, Dana knew she would be seeing the Flint soon. | notes: could end it with your next post, or have the two walking before we end it there? |

Dana was more quiet than normal and Liam watched the girl carefully. Gone was her playful, cheerful attitude, replaced by one that seemed so sad. He felt a little bad about his question, wishing he could take it back. "I'm sorry Dana," Liam answered honestly. He could tell she was very disappointed that she hadn't been able to find Lars and once again wished that he could do something to help, but this was obviously out of his realm.
He nodded when she thanked him for caring, but didn't say anything else. Was there actually anything else to be said? He heard an alarm and watched Dana pull her phone out, saying that time flew and she was going to ask about Tamara and their dates. Liam smiled, "There's not much to say, but I can tell you whatever you want to know while we walk," he answered, rising to his feet. He might as well walk with her, since the Ministry wasn't too far away. It wouldn't be an inconvenience for either of them.

A small smile touched the pale face that belonged to Dana Knox. She couldn’t help but feel bad for souring the mood between herself and Liam before her lips opened ready to apologise herself. ”It’s not your fault.” She responded, patting him lightly on his arm. ”I’m sorry for ruining the good vibe we had!” While she knew that any conversation around Lars had bothered her, it was nice to know that she had a friend who seemed concerned for her amongst all the chaos the blonde had suffered through throughout the years. As the two rose to their feet, preparing to leave Dana found herself nodding. While she had known Tamara pretty much all of her life, there was one aspect of the Finch’s girl life that Dana didn’t know. And that was Liam. She was curious to how he treated her and how the two fell so madly in love with one another.
”Tell me the best memory you have with her.” She hummed as she pulled open the door. The uninviting rush of wind soon welcomed the two back into the midst of tragedy that was England itself and Dana found herself stuffing her small hands into the pockets of her oversized coat. ”I just want to know more about the infamous Liam Flint!” She admitted, a giggle leaving her lips. The topic was light and airy, giving Liam the spotlight while the two headed to work was a nice and simple thing.
@liam & we could probably end it soon! have the two of them split off at their roads that lead them to work or something hehe

Dana argued that it wasn't his fault, which Liam knew. He couldn't be blamed for her friend not being there, it was more of a sympathetic apology than anything else. Pointing that out would probably just make things worse, so he simply nodded his head. Until she said that she was ruining their vice. Liam rolled his eyes. "You aren't ruining anything. I asked, you answered." In all honesty, he was a little surprised that she told him as much as she did. The two of them weren't particularly close friends, so he was kind of honored that she told him anything at all. "You're fine," he added after a moment, coughing to clear his throat.
She asked for the best memory he had and Liam really had to think. There were so many great memories between him and Tamara. "I think the first time we kissed. I had no idea before then that she might have liked me and it was ..." he trailed off, not knowing how to explain it. Their first kiss was entirely confusing. Ethan had been unconscious, feet away, but at the same time it was perfect. He scoffed, though smiling, when she said she wanted to know more about the "infamous" Liam Flint. He chuckled, "Well I think you're going to have to wait for another time. I have to turn here," he told her, gesturing to the left. "Have a good day, Dana."

Dana Knox couldn’t help but beam at the Flint boy, the smile that touched her lips filled with warmth and good vibes. It was nice to know that someone the blonde wasn’t really close with was open about listening to her issues, even if she only revealed one out of many. To prevent herself from worsening the awkwardness between them, Dana just nodded, both hands pushing her blonde hair behind her ears out of nervousness. As Liam began to speak, Dana found herself nodding lightly. She remembered the first time Tamara ran to her with news of her kiss with Liam and shortly after the start of their relationship. Dana knew deep down, Liam was indeed a great guy for her best friend; even if he seemed entirely awkward around her.
Dana kept quiet as Liam began the short story, walking alongside him for a few minutes until the two of them came to a short stop. It was where they split off. The Knox sighed lightly as the wind picked up, blowing the coats of both of the adults while a smile touched her lips. ”You too Liam.” She responded. With a short wave to the Flint, the Knox girl turned, heading in a direction that took her further into Diagon Alley, as well as the same direction as her job while her fingers fumbling inside her coat for that little box of dangerous goodies. Her cigarettes.
@liam & i enjoyed this!! thanks for being dana's first finished thread!!
