None of her friends was the one thing the Novell picked up from that entire sentence, teeth nipping on pale pink lips out of habit as she shifted in her seat uncomfortably once more. She knew that with such beauty Ophelia was most definitely popular. Just like Gilderoy Jr and many other students who were known for their loud mouths and good looks. Her hands fiddled with one another as the blonde spoke, nodding in understanding. From Zen’s knowledge a lot of the students seemed to disappear around the time of day for Professor Delacour-Creevey’s class and the Novell could never put her finger on it. History of Magic was an interesting, enjoyable topic. At least for a nerd like Zen. ”I-It’s not too bad...” she trailed off, avoiding the girl’s gaze.
Defence Against the Dark Arts was a subject Zenevieva once enjoyed, until students in Ilvermorny found ways to tease the half-vampire for what she truly was. Half of a Dark Creature. While Vampires and other Demi-humans were widely accepted in society, the Novell’s bullies took it into account of her vampirism and the potential danger she had around others and was eventually teased by it. Out of the many classes Hogwarts provided, Zenevieva knew that both Charms and Potions were in a tied spot in her heart while anything in relation to History fuelled some part of Zen that sent her brain into knowledgeable overload. The Novell loved history. Knowing the ways things once were and how, with time they changed was fascinating for the brunette.
”History is my favourite thing.” the brunette declared. ”Patterns that began in one year tend to change in the decade or century to follow…It’s interesting.” The brunette couldn’t help but crack a small smile to herself as she continued on. ”It’s the feeling of seeing how we adapted to or changed something that was introduced so long ago.” Magic for example.
@ophelia oooo. well history is zen's favourite thing.

Perhaps she had been a little too aggressive about disliking History, Ophelia thought, because Zen was closing up again and she hadn't meant for that to happen. She knew she could come off as preppy and stiff, and okay fine, sometimes she was like that. "For a person who loves the subject, you can't say it's just not too bad," she said teasingly. "I'll admit, I think it takes a real spark to actually like History. Gotta really invest in it, y'know? Be proud of it, people like you come by rarely. Shout it from the Astronomy Towers. Like I said before I think it's important to learn about what happened in our past. Good for you that you like it, maybe if I ever have kids they'll have you as a teacher when they come to Hogwarts, hm?" ”History is my favourite thing. Patterns that began in one year tend to change in the decade or century to follow…It’s interesting." Now the brunette Ravenclaw had begun to smile, and Ophelia nodded for her to continue, genuinely curious now on what her housemate had to say. ”It’s the feeling of seeing how we adapted to or changed something that was introduced so long ago.” Having rarely been in the class Ophelia certainly couldn't conjure up any examples that she remembered Professor Delacour-Creevey discussing that related to what Zen had just said, but she tilted her her and replied, "well, I definitely see how that could be interesting. I suppose history and its patterns just moves too slowly for me to be intrigued by it. What would you say we adapted to or changed? Sorry, I haven't been to class that much and you might be my go-to if I never need help, now," she grinned. Sarcasm wasn’t a thing that Zenevieva had practiced but from the bullies she had met in her life, it was one thing she knew how to identify rather clearly. And from the way Ophelia had been speaking to the brunette throughout this one encounter, that moment in time the Novell felt rather intimidated and at a loss for words. ”It’s different…” She began, trying to find her own place. ”You don’t need the mind of a Professors to figure out where magic began. Magic in its entirety has surrounded us for years on end and without it many would suffer…” Zen paused to adjust herself in her seat, noting how Ophelia had taken some interest in her prior answer. Score for Zen.
When the blonde questioned on how magic has exactly changed or more so adapted as the centuries passed, the half-vampire found herself biting her lip, her mind wandering through the different paths the topic could follow through to. The change in the history of Magic around America was a good example, but even for the United Kingdom was another good example as well. And now with the merge of both Ilvermorny and Hogwarts, there were those conflicting ideas of how different the subjects really were here and back home. There were the changes around the Demi-Humans of the Magical realm especially with the comparisons America and Britain had alike. For America, Zenevieva was used to America/Ilvermorny being open to the idea of a half-witch, half-dark creature, like herself as a half-vampire. But UK…Was rather different. Evident from the Werewolf Code of Conduct.
”Demi-Humans.” She breathed out. ”That’s been a topic with changes as the decades passed…More so in America than here…” She added, pushing brunette locks behind her ear. ”It’s a subject I know that is taught during First Year, but considering America’s more welcoming with the existence of us demi-humans…It wasn’t essentially expanded upon. While here and even other parts of the Wizarding World…Demi-Humans, being half of a dark creature as well as a wizard…People can’t accept the stigma of it all…”
@ophelia & LOL. not to worry! we can always end it soon if you wish ~
