November Victoire was at the Ministry today, though she was starting to chicken out. She was considering applying for a job, with the Auror office, back where she used to be before she was part of the Ministers team and then, well, The Minister for a time. She wasn't sure what had driven her to come, but she found herself back at her old place of work, going a little mad seeing all of her old friends and colleagues pass her. She was standing by the fountain in the entrance hall, having just gone through security with a clean pass. It was strange having to go through security that way instead of taking her private entrance she used to. It was just weird to be here. No, no, she should go. She turned to leave and full on ran into someone. "I'm so sorry!"@jim

Jim could count the things that annoyed him about his job very easily. Yet he still came everyday and typically on time. He wasn’t sure if it was because the job wasn’t all that hard to do or if he was just good at it but he kept at it even with the minor annoyances. Telling himself that any job would have its pains of its own. Yet he could do without the security checks every single time he came into the building. Sure, it kept the ministry safe and he got that but having to do them once or even twice a day was a bit silly. There needed to be some express lane for people like him who knew the security staff by name at this point. Which possibly would defeat the purpose of a security check yet right now wasn’t the time for such logic.
He hadn’t made it very far into the building after the check before someone ran into him. Nothing too serious but it did throw Jim off for a moment. His brain processed the person apologizing before who it actually was. “ Don’t worry about it, sadly I wasn’t hit hard enough to get the rest of the day off.” Jim joked for a moment as he looked toward the person now realizing who it was. Victoire Weasley had been working under and became the ministry of magic while he was here. They were also in the same order for a brief time before everything split up. “Are you visiting for nostalgia sake or are you going to inform your Aunt to get out of your office, Ms.Weasley?” Jim said keeping the conversation a bit on the joking side. He wasn’t sure just how formal it should be with her being the former Minister of magic after all.

He told her not to worry about it, saying it was sad that he wasn't hit hard enough to get the rest of the day off. Vic let out a small laugh at that, "next time I'll hit you harder," she promised, joking of course. His eyes found hers and she saw the recognition light up in his face. It was strange, still, being able to be so easily recognized by people. She was sometimes surprised she could even go out in public. But, she wasn't Minister anymore and the hype of her 'coming back from the dead' had stopped completely. She vanished for months, came back, and everyone made a big fuss about it at first but they eventually got over it. The news had bigger fish to fry now. She recognized him, too. He was in the Order, but he wasn't a Heliopath now, meaning he either stepped aside or took stock in Finns group. Either way, she couldn't quite remember his name. He asked if she was visiting for Nostalgias sake or if she was going to inform Hermione to 'get out of her office'. Vic shook her head, laughing a little again. "I was considering that," she joked, "but no. I was thinking... well, it's silly," she shook her head, waving her hand as if she could swat her thoughts out of the air. Then his name her him, "Jimothy! Jim, right?"@jim

Jim laughed as the former minister said next time she would just hit him harder. “Please do, I can’t think of any better excuse for a day off besides being knocked out by a former minister of magic.” Jim replied jokingly as he knew she had just been playing along with him for a moment. “Do make sure to leave a note on my body though once your done as I doubt anyone would take my word for it.” He added with a small smirk continuing to tease about being knocked out. Most people wouldn’t laugh about such a subject but it was all in mere fun.
Victoire explained jokingly that she was considering telling the current minister of magic, hermonie, to get out of her office. Yet continued and explained she was thinking something else that seemed to be silly as she put it. “Feel free to share if you like, I literally deal with silly things all day. It’s part of being in the ludicrous patents department.” Jim explained partly interested in what had brought her back here. The other part was just him looking to talk to someone instead of getting to the office. “It’s either silly or dangerous, rarely in-between and sometimes both.” Jim could only assume she had been trying to remember his name for sometime now, he couldn’t blame her for not remembering right off the bat. They hadn’t talked much before in the order. “Both are correct, though I’d prefer Jim.”

He said he couldn't think of a better excuse to get work off, saying that she should leave a note on his body since no one would believe him. "I was going to say, if I was your boss I would think that was a lie, definitely. It's a bit of a stretch," she agreed. "I'll leave a note - from my official stationary. I think I still have some sheets left... guess I should be carrying the extras around for occasions like this, shouldn't I?" she asked, feigning contemplation of the idea. He offered that she could share the 'silly' reason she was here, since he was used to it because of his department. "I mean, I guess it is kind of ludicrous..." she muttered, mostly to herself. He said his work was either silly or dangerous or both. "That sounds like my life," she half joked, but it was so true that it sounded kind of sad. He said he preferred Jim, and she nodded. "Jim. You can call me Vic, or Victoire," she offered. "As for my 'silly' reasoning... I dunno, was kind of thinking about a job?" she pursed her lips to the side, her brows furrowing with uncertainty. @jim

Jim laughed, he didn’t know what to really expect from Victoire as they had hardly ever talked. As well as he had only known her as a ministry of magic and a major member of the order of the Phoenix. It was nice to know she had a side where she could play along with him being silly for a moment. “Oh, please do. Anything that’ll help them take me seriously would do wonders.” He replied as Victoire offered her note on some of her old stationary. “I imagine it’d get framed in the office somewhere and I’d never live it down but I can accept being reminded I was knocked out by you. ” He laughed once more as the thought crossed his mind. “I can’t imagine too many people have that honor and aren’t locked up in Azkaban soon after.”
Victoire muttered about something being ludicrous and while he imagined it was mostly her thinking out loud he still responded. “I’ll be the judge of that, it’s my area of expertise after all.” He replied with a small laugh unsure just how much he should joke at her statement. Jim nodded as Victoire explained how his job sounded like her life. “I suppose it comes with the territory, between being a minister at one point and the leader of various ‘clubs’ if you will.” It was the best way of putting it without just out right saying a member of the order and the leader of one of the new groups now. “Vic it is, might as well keep it to three letters if I’m going to insist on Jim.”
Victoire explained that her silly reason was that she was thinking about getting a job. “I’m sure with your background you could just pick what you wanted to do.” Jim mused for a moment as it was partly true besides anything that might require special training or requirements. “As far as openings go, I know our department has some. Namely a receptionist but I feel you might be vastly overqualified for that.” Pam was gone and the empty seat was a constant reminder of that as they waiting for a new one to be hired. Still he couldn’t imagine a former minister or just Victoire sitting there.

He said that anything that would make his bosses take him seriously would do wonders, adding that the note would be framed in the office due to them never letting him live it down. "Even if they don't frame it I'd expect you to. That's a pretty valuable thing," she explained. "If you want, I won't even date it and then you can use it more than once," she suggested. At the mention of Azkaban she shrugged, "well, you're not wrong. There is a reason no one has ever mentioned it before. That's why the thought of you using it as an excuse is so unbelievable. It's just unheard of."He said the ludicrous-ness was his area of expertise, and when she stated that this was her life and he made perfect sense after that. Saying that it made sense due to her past and her history. She rolled her eyes a little, nodding. Her life was indeed insane. "Jim. Vic. Good. Oh no," she widened her eyes, "'good' is four letters. I ruined it," she smirked. Then she mentioned the job and he was very supportive, which made her stop feeling goofy for a moment and sobered her up. She chuckled without humor as he mentioned the receptionist job. "I think everyone wouldn't talk to me, then who would give them their owl delivery confirmations?"She had always been a workaholic, she was happy when she was working... the question was if Heliopath would be enough. "Yeah... maybe I wouldn't have time for it, though. With that 'club' and all... and what about you, are you still a part of any 'club'? I don't see you at my meetings," she raised an eyebrow. @jim

Vic joked that he would frame her note himself if his coworkers didn’t. Saying she wouldn’t even date it so he could use it over and over. “I suppose you have a point, not many people are going to have a note to remember the time Victoire Weasley knocked their lights out.” Jim agreed with a nod and smile, “even if I don’t reuse it it’ll be good to have a memento of it happening. I can even show it off to people who come around.” Jim listened on as Vic explained why no one ever mentioned being knocked out and Jim having a note of it would be unheard of. “You’d be surprised just how many times I might have used something unheard of just to get a break from my office.” Jim laughed jokingly but it wasn’t entirely a lie. He didn’t mind his job but between the boredom and coworkers he just needed a break sometimes.
Jim nodded as Vic attempted to make a conversation just using three letter words, only getting to the third word before saying good. Jim laughed while she explained how she ruined it. “We can do up to four lett... four type word....s.” Jim spoke while attempting not to laugh, this was an interesting conversation and he was enjoying it. He hadn’t expected all this just from being bumped into someone
As they spoke about her getting a job and possibly working as a receptionist on his floor she explained how most people probably wouldn’t even talk to her. He could understand that in a way. She was a very famous person in many circles and that was sure to intimidated a few people. “Well I would just call that their loss.” Jim joked but having a job where she didn’t do anything didn’t seem to be what she was looking for. “You can just call it the test of courage on our floor if they talk to you or not.”
Vic explained that she might not have time for a job with her club activities. It was rare he had to talk moderately covert at work. He didn’t really have anyone to talk about these things within his office, especially after Pam had left. Vic asked if he was still part of any club as she hadn’t seen him at any meetings. Jim had a hard time deciding what to do when the split into different factions happened to the order. All three factions had their points but Jim decided on Ouroboros as the main reason he had been a member of the order was to protect the people he cared about from the recent problems.
“I joined one of the other ones, not to say yours isn’t doing the right thing either.” He didn’t want to make Vic feel like he hadn’t joined Heliopath because he disagreed with her motives. “Besides if you ever need help with any club activities I’m sure everyone will be there. At the very least you have a member of the patents office, whatever that’s worth.” He attempted to lighten the mood just a bit by bringing up his job, it definitely wasn’t the most intimating job title that was to be sure.

Vic grinned as he suggested that there were few who would have such a note. "Eh, It's s happened more than you think," she admitted, in terms of her knocking peoples lights out. "But, you're right. No one else has gotten a note out of it, so it would be a good memento. A prized possession," she agreed to his joking. "Do you enjoy your work?" she asked, on a more serious note as he said he liked to use things to get away from the office. Or rather, break from it. He changed the rule of their little letter game to four letter words and still failed. She shook her head, "cut word off not fair," she answered. Wow, this was a lot harder than she thought it would be. He said that it was their loss if people wouldn't speak to her, and she shrugged. He said i could be the test of courage for his coworkers and she smiled, shaking her head. She reached a hand up to brush a peace of her hair behind her ears, "I suppose you're winning at the brave thing so far, then."He said that he didn't think she WASN'T doing the right thing, which was nice of him. He said he was sure everyone would be around to help, and she agreed, even as he joked about his position. "That's worth something to me," she answered. "We all want the same things, Jim,"She paused, letting a silence sink in before speaking again, "I guess I should let you get back." She was reluctant, though. @jim

Jim laughed for a moment as Victoire agreed it would be a prized momento to have a note explaining he had been knocked out by her. She asked if he enjoyed his work and he nodded. “It’s fun at times and I’m good at it. Sadly it does get a little bit boring and repetitive at times also.” Jim explained as all this talk of trying to avoid work probably did make it seem like he hated his job, he hated it very rarely. Yet there had been plenty of times he had wished he was doing something else instead though. “The patents can be fun at times as long as they don’t blow up on you but the paper work does get old after awhile.”
Vic attempted to keep going with just for letter words now and accused him of cheating because he had cut off one his words. “I’ll...” he paused attempting to find the right words with the right amount of letters too. “I’ll try more next time.” Jim got out laughing as he spoke normally now pausing this game. “I don’t think you’ll be getting any job talking like a cave woman if someone heard us. I’m bound to be fired and thrown into St.Mungos or something if they did.” Jim teased for a second.
“Good to hear, I’ll bring plenty of paper work to throw at people for whatever club project it is. Nothing scarier than paperwork.” Jim added as it would still seem like just an odd conversation but there wasn’t enough to read into just in case someone could hear them. “Just different ways of getting there. Which is why we still need to have each other’s backs in times of need.” Jim hadn’t liked the idea of the order splitting up but there was just no way around it. Jim sided with the faction which was focused more on protecting people from the purifiers or anyone else rather than taking the fight to them. Still Jim could see how both sides were needed for this to come to an end some day.
As the conversation slowed for a moment Vic said she should probably let him get going. Sadly she had a point, “I suppose so, if I’m not getting knocked out I don’t have much of an excuse to not show up." he smiled as he offered his hand. “Well Ms. Weasley it was an honor and if you’re ever bored or come up with something that needs a patent you know where to find me. As well as anything else you might need.”

He said his job was fun and he was good at it, even if it got repetitive. Vic was not great with repetition either, so she understood that. He said that patents could be fun as long as they don't blow up. "The occasional explosion probably makes it more fun though, right?" she guessed. Their little game of four letter words ended and he said that she wouldn't be getting a job talking like that and that they'd be thrown into Mungos. She laughed, "I'm sure they'd think it was some kind of disease spreading that one of us passed to the other and it's an epidemic. They might even put us in quarantine together. We'd have to play card games all day or something," she suggested. He said he'd bring paperwork to throw at people because it was scary and she laughed, shaking her head a little. He said that they had different ways of getting their goals in the groups - and that's why they had to have each others backs in time of need. She nodded, "well, I'll have yours if you'll have mine."He said that he didn't have an excuse not to show up if he wasn't getting knocked out and she grinned, taking his hand as he offered it and giving a very firm handshake. "I'll take that into consideration. If you ever need a friend who has nothing to offer whatsoever," she joked, gesturing to herself. She broke the handshake and her eyes flickered toward the elevator. "I think I'll give it a little more time... but it's good to know I'll have a friend here. Now, get back to work. Next time I'll make sure to knock you over."@jim (the end, I think?)

Jim laughed as Vic asked that the occasional explosion made it fun. “It certainly makes it interesting. It’s not that fun in the moment though when it’s just suppose to do something simple.” Jim replied with a laugh as he thought of the sadly multiple occasions where it had happened. “You don’t expect someone’s expanding portable bathroom prototype to explode but it’s happened.” It was certainly a patient that didn’t get approved that was for sure.
Vic explained what she assumed might happen if someone heard them talking in just three and then four letter words. He wouldn’t past some of the more overzealous healers to try and think they found some new disease than just to adults being a little silly. “I can certainly think of worse ways to spend a quarantine. Unless your especially good at card games. I don’t think I’d enjoy losing for the hundredth time on a row.”
“Sounds like a deal.” Jim replied about them having each other’s back, he couldn’t see a situation where it might happened but with both there activities who knew. Anything was possible. Vic jokingly suggested that she would also be there but with nothing to offer. “Oh please you have plenty to offer and if you’re jealous you can just borrow some of my stationary to throw. We’ll raid the supply closet before anything happens.” Jim said teasing for a moment, just because she didn’t have a job at the moment certainly didn’t mean she didn’t have anything to offer in the way of help. Jim nodded as Vic said her goodbyes and suggested she would knock him over next time. “I’ll take your word on that, just make sure it’s while I still have to be at work.” Jim replied with one last laugh and a smile before finally heading toward the elevators. It was certainly a memorable encounter that he doubted most would believe happened.
