After the discovery of the Forbidden Forest upon the first few weeks of Zenevieva’s sixth year in Hogwarts, the Novell girl had taken a liking to it, escaping to the forest to read books beyond books as well as to consume her monthly intake of blood as the months went by. With her bottom pressed on the floor and her back pushed against one of the trees, Zen heard the low hums in the distance from the dark creatures that seemed intrigued by the things or more so the people within their territory. As a half-dark creature herself, the Novell never really had a problem with the other creatures that roamed the forest and instead kept her distance by roaming around the outskirts of it.
As she relaxed into the tree trunk, Zen’s baby fangs yanked off the top of the plastic seal, the delicious smell of blood entering her nostrils while her teeth sunk into the liquid itself. Drinking blood wasn’t exactly the half-vampire’s favourite thing to do, but the sweet smell that blood gave her was worth enough to endure it. Humming as she drank, Zen closed her eyes as she gulped down every drop, her lips stained with the crimson colour as she pushed the bag away from her lips and onto the wet ground that November had gifted her. With a smile touching her lips, Zen continued to relax until she inhaled in, the sweet scent of blood soon mixing with the scent of another – indicating someone’s presence.
In an instance, Zen scurried to her feet, her blue eyes turning with her head as she tried to find that said thing or person. ”Come out!” Zenevieva called out, her fingers soon clenching into a fist as she attempted to stand her own ground.
@nora & hope this works!!!

Nora didn't spend that much time in the forest. but it wasn't a bad place to get away and be reminded of home. Sure. the trees were different than in Canada but they were still inviting and warm. Figuratively speaking. In reality, it was actually pretty cold in there, or anywhere outside, this time of year. But even the cold felt 'warm' to her in the sense that it reminded her of home. She wasn't homesick, per say, but she definitely missed things about it. Like camping seasons and hunting season. She would hunt here but schools frowned on people bringing guns around... plus, shooting a wild magical animal had very different consequences then shooting a non magical one. No, she'd have to wait til summer when she could go on a trip in the mountains somewhere. Europe had to have good hunting. Still, she didn't want to lose her skill, so she took to the forest to practice her hunting tactics. She didn't have her gun, of course, but there was a lot more to hunting than that. Seeking the target, watching them, waiting for the perfect moment to strike... She smelled something new, or someone, and started to follow the scent, staying stealthy since she was practicing hunting and all. But then she heard a voice, a demand to show herself. She grinned, then stepped out from behind a tree, both hands raised. "Where's the party?"zenevieva mira novell

Zenevieva knew the risk in coming outside and going to the Forbidden Forest alone. There were endless possibilities…A teacher finding her, a student who was also not supposed to be around finding her reading a book, the potential possibility of her bullies turning up. Endless risks. But Zen chose to live the risky life anyway. The High Life. Although, the Novell didn’t expect herself to hold up her fists as she called out to the other person she suspected was around – scents and all. But when a girl, a few inches shorter than herself stepped out, hands raised – green eyes widened in both surprise and awe. The Hogwarts uniform revealed that Zenevieva possibly had nothing to worry about and soon the brunette unclenched her fists and stood normally, shaking off the weird feeling she developed while trying to stand her ground.
She cleared her throat before dropping her mouth to speak. ”N-No party here.” She stammered. The girl was rather…beautiful. Pale skin, thin appearance. Similar to Zen in a way. There’s no…chance. Zenevieva thought to herself until the wind blew gently, the scent with the same similarities as her own but with stronger tendencies finding its way into her nose. The scent reminded her of Steve, a sixth year Gryffindor she had met recently and Zen felt inspired by him. So the words that followed mimicked the ones he once said to her. ”Is it your mom or dad?”

Nora's eyes flickered to the girls clenched fists, but then she loosened them and Nora smiled. Hopefully the girl would be comfortable enough not to try and punch Nora or anything. Not that she'd succeed, Nora was pretty fast. When the girl cleared her throat Nora took a step forward, just a small one, and slowly started to lower her hands. Her hands weren't even to her sides yet by the time the girl was done talking, that's how slowly Nora was lowering them. What? She was amused. She said there was no party there and Nora frowned, "disappointing," she said simply. But then Nora started to pay attention, and the scent of the girl wafted into her nose. Nora's smile froze for a moment as realization came to her, and Nora slowly raised an eyebrow,. But before she could ask, the girl did first. "My mom," she said, smiling. Her French-Canadian accent always grew stronger when she talked of home, like it did now. "And what a blessing she is," Nora took another step forward. "And you? Mother or father?" she asked. It was only fair that she got a turn, as well. zenevieva mira novell

Green eyes couldn’t help but peer upon the features of the girl before her. The myths or more so description of half-vampires remained true – Zen supposed. The pale skin, soft tones in their voice and their thinness. But the girl before her was simply prettier than how the myths and lore’s outlined half-vampires, the smile that sat comfortably on the corners of her lips warming the Novell’s own strange heart. ”I’m sorry.” She began, turning to the side slightly while her hands fumbled with the long length of her sweater arms. ”I’m not really…a party person.” Disappointment was one thing Zenevieva always tried to avoid – even around people she had never met before, or for first impressions. It was a simple habit to hopefully be the best amongst anyone and everyone but difficult and tricky to handle when anxiety lurked the corners.
Just like Steve. Zenevieva thought to herself once she got her response. But when the question was shot back at her, the hands that fumbled with her sweater came to a pause and instead green eyes trailed along the dying grass. ”Mother too. Was turned a few years before my birth.” The accent Zen had caught upon was rather interesting, a smile twitching on the corner of her lips as she caught it out. But the questions that lingered in Zen’s mind found their way – bursting into the scene. ”I’m guessing you’re one of the many few ‘halfies’ that the professors noted when we all transferred here…”

The girl apologized for the lack of a party, fidgeting with her sweater. Nora couldn't help but think that was sweet, the way the girl seemed so shy and unsure about talking to her. She said she wasn't a party person and Nora smiled softly, "well, that's okay. There are a lot of ways to have a good time," she shrugged, feigning a sort of innocence with that. This would be fun. She liked a challenge, and getting this girl to loosen up would certainly be one. She said it was her mother too, and Nora nodded. "Have you met my brother Steve yet? He usually finds the pretty girls a LITTLE faster than I do. Damn him," Nora said, shaking her head. Nora nodded, "yes! I don't think there are many of us. I'm just glad schools are more relaxed about us now. I'm sorry for interrupting you, though. I know some people can get embarrassed by what we have to do."zenevieva mira novell

Nodding in agreement, Zen looked up from the area from her sweater that she fumbled with, locking her gaze with the girl across from her. From what she saw, the girl had a sweet face and looked rather innocent, features the Novell always fell for. ”I-I’m Zenevieva.” She introduced. ”But call me Zen…” Zen had always hated her name, for the difficulty it brought with pronunciation and even how long it was. ”How does anyone have…A good time out here?”
The name Steve sounded unfamiliar to the half-vampire until distant bells began to ring in her mind. Of course she knew Steve! The Sixth year Gryffindor. Who was just like…Zen. Cracking a small smile on her lips, she nodded once more. ”I have. Sorry.” The Novell picked up on how Nora described Steve’s findings of pretty girls and even began to wonder, did she find Zen pretty? ”I think Steve mentioned there’s maybe…Less than five of us…” It would’ve been nice to have more people like herself around, to express her doubts and the things she found troubling: feeding being one of them.
But when Nora apologised for interrupting, it took a few moments before the prior situation found its way back into Zen’s mind. ”N-No, I’m sorry…” She apologised. ”It was quite dumb of me to do it out here…I just…Hate doing it.” Flushes of red found its way creeping up to the Novell’s cheeks as she looked away from the other. But when she mentioned of how people get embarrassed, Zenevieva instantly knew she fell into that category. Feeding once or even twice a month was the cruel reality of being half a dark creature. Sometimes, the type of blood you’re used to feeding on twists into a disgusting taste. At least in Zen’s case it has.

Zen gave her preferred name and Nora grinned, "Nora," she introduced. Then Zen asked how people had a good time out there and a playful grinned splashed onto Nora's face. "Oh, there's too many to list. I'll start with a few... climbing trees, running through them, making out in them, you know, the classics," she explained. "Also lots of cool places just lurking, but we can't go too far in - forest wise. But the school has some incredible nooks and crannies, too," she added. Zen said she did meet Steve, apologizing for it. Nora laughed, shaking her head at that. "Well, I suppose the four or five of us should get together every once in a while and talk about humans and stuff," she joked. Zen said she was sorry, that it was dumb of her to drink the blood out there and that she hated doing it. Nora frowned, her lips pursing down to one side as she took a few more steps to the girl until she was close enough to continue the casual conversation. "Hey, hey. I know it's frustrating but there are ways to make it more enjoyable. Maybe having a friend around who can joke with you?" she suggested, pointing at herself. "We can pretend we're having a tea party or just talk about something completely unrelated. I promise, I'm good at distracting."zenevieva mira novell

The introduction was brief and left rather simple, just how Zenevieva wished all introductions would follow through. Nora’s smile was a rather pretty one, which led onto Zen smiling back at the other half-vampire. ”Climbing trees is considered fun?” She asked, biting back an awkward laugh when she thought about Nora’s other choices. How did people find making out in forests fun? Seemed creepy. Then again, Zen didn’t really know the definition of fun. Her preference of fun was a simple day — filled with book reading and avoiding chaos, risks and most of all: her bullies. ”What kind of nooks and crannies?” She found herself asking out of interest.
Nodding in agreement, Zen’s arms crossed behind her, her hands coming together tightly. ”A secret vampire association.” She joked, letting out a quite laugh. ”Though…I would…Like that.” To talk about things her friends simply wouldn’t understand? The pain of craving blood but instead eating human food? Zenevieva was ready for the next feeding month to pass. ”That is, if both your brother and whoever the others are…are up for it…” She added, smiling.
Picking up on the frown, the Novell glanced away — a frown crossing her own lips once Nora spoke. But when Nora had stepped closer to the brunette, green eyes looked into the eyes of the other female closely, making slight movements as they tried to read into Nora’s eyes. Read her emotions and true intentions. But sadly, Zen wasn’t a mind reader. ”A t-tea party?” She snorted, a hand coming up to cover her mouth as she laughed. Having a friend who knew of the pain each half-vampire had to go through would be nice…But Zen knew she would never conjure up the confidence to ever ask for such a favour.
”I suppose it sounds like a good option…” She muttered, smile fading from her lips as she looked away. ”I can tell. Your distractions were enough for me to almost forget what I was doing prior to this moment.”

She asked if climbing trees was considered fun and Nora's jaw dropped, "Yes!!! It uses almost every muscles, it involves problem solving, risk, adrenaline - what's not to love?" she questioned. Oh dear. She'd really have to break this one, wouldn't she? Zen asked about Hogwarts nooks and crannies too, and a wicked smile splattered across Nora's face again, "all kinds. Depends what you're looking for," she explained. Zen laughed at the vampire association idea, but added that she would like that. "Then it's done," Nora lifted a hand to snap her fingers, "a pretty thing like you needs support, friend. And my brother will be up for it. And trust me," she paused for effect, "I can convince any others too." She was confident in that. She was confident in most of her abilities. The girl had a nice smile, too, and Nora was glad it had come out. Zen seemed amused about the tea party idea and Nora just shrugged, nodding. She said it would be a good option, saying that Nora had already been distracting her well enough. Nora took a step forward and held out a hand to her new friend, "then it's settled, tea parties at... well whatever schedule you're on," she promised. She could drink blood anytime and didn't really care. zenevieva mira novell

Zenevieva wasn’t the kind of person to enjoy psychical activity, or anything that seemed hazardous enough for her to care. Climbing was a great example. Many seemed to love it but many seemed to be injured from it. Injury and Zen simply didn’t work well together. ”Everything…” She retorted, keeping the smile on her lips small. Adventuring, being a rebel or chaos just wasn’t for her. When Nora mentioned it depended on what she was looking for, the only thing the Novell could think of was secret books the school had kept hidden. Perhaps on the history of Hogwarts or even based on the…Tragic things that had gone on here. ”Books maybe? I’m a … Boring person.” She laughed dryly.
Green eyes widened at Nora’s confirmation. While it sounded like a great idea, the possibility of the club even passing through the teachers minds were slim. The Ravenclaw could probably hear their words now, discouraging the idea, with the potential comment of not every student would feel included. Or something like that. ”I don’t doubt it.” She murmured, cheeks flushing a light red. ”If you can make this club happen…Then I trust you Nora.” The comment itself was minor but the effort of the smile Zen returned to the other half-vampire made up for it.
With the brunette’s hand extended before her, Zen looked down at it before slowly slipping her own palm into it. She gave it a gentle shake before she retracted her hand, her arm hanging by her side again. ”I’ll send an owl about it eventually. Maybe in the next few days.” She stated. It was nice to finally have someone to relate to and to even drink blood with. Some moments were difficult than others, especially after the death of her parents, some months Zen found herself refusing to drink the necessary amount and others she found herself drinking an excessive amount. Even if it did make her sick.

Nora narrowed her eyes a little when Zen said 'everything' was not to love. Nora chose not to press the issue, but made a silent vow to herself that she would search the earth to find out what this girl liked. She said books, though, and Nora smiled, "hey! Books are great. They take you on adventures without any real danger," she shrugged, "I personally love reading. Some days they do the trick just fine," she trailed off. "And books aren't boring, just a different kind of fun," she countered. "I'm personally a fan of horror," she admitted, "same with movies. Er - it's a muggle thing," she clarified, though by this day and age most magical beings at least KNEW what movies were.
Zen said she trusted her to make the club happen and she grinned, "a good choice," she complimented. "I'll get on that as soon as possible, though it may take some time," she admitted. She was actually pretty great at organization. You had to be if you wanted to go hunting. At least if you wanted to do it safely. As much as she loved danger, she preferred not to shoot her brother in the backside or anything.
Zen took her hand to shake it and Nora's grip was firm, but the hands were soon taken apart. Sooner than Nora thought necessary. Zen suggested she'd send Nora and owl and Nora nodded, "perfect. Then, I guess for now, we head back? Unless you have more business out here to attend to?"

DANGER WAS ONE thing Zen had always wanted to avoid. Books had a great way of describing said detail though and the adrenaline rush that characters felt, giving off the feeling the Novell knew she would probably never experience. And Nora had described it perfectly. ”Exactly.” She breathed with a smile. ”I’d rather read about the danger rather than be in it.” But it seemed Nora was a part of the opposite team. ”Muggle movies are great!” Zen agreed, not wanting the Gryffindor to feel as if Zen didn’t know the goodness they brought. ”Horror novels are…Strange. Intriguing in some areas but terrifying in others.”
In Zen’s mind, the creation of the club would’ve taken at least a few months to prepare, with the need of the Professors approval and eventually the head masters. Though, it would have been cool if it were available for when Zen, Nora and the other demi-humans moved into their seventh year. ”There’s no rush.” She told Nora. Time was currently on their side anyways.
Shaking her head, Zen concluded their time spent together was nice, brief, but she seemingly learned a lot. ”I finished the majority of my blood bag anyway.” She shrugged. ”Give me a few minutes to just…Clean up around here and then we could go back together?” She suggested.
@nora & we can end it with your next reply?

Zen said she would rather read about the danger than be in it, which Nora understod. Nora always felt like she didn't mind danger, but in all reality she hadn't been in many dangerous situations. Well, hunting was always dangerous, but nothing immediately life threatening. Her school hadn't been attacked, or blown up, or anything. She didn't even have one until now, so she had experienced nothing like what the kids at Hogwarts and even Ilvermorny had. She didn't understand that loss. But, she always felt like she would do well in those kind of situations. She just never had the chance to find out. Zen said muggle movies were great and Nora grinned, her grin growing wider as Zen spoke about horror novels. "Yes, I like the one's where there is a very clear reason for the horror to be happening, rather than just a slasher for the sake of slashing. My favorite book is called THR3E, by Ted Dekker," she explained. "It's more a mystery novel but definitely scary."Zen said there was no rush for the clun and Nora chuckled, "I don't think there's a rush for anything," he agreed. She rarely ever thought there was a rush. If she did something quickly that was because she had the passion to do it, not necessarily because she thought it didn't have time. Zen suggested that she clean up before they head back together and Nora nodded, "sounds perfect!" She was excited to have a new friend, especially one who definitely needed a friend like herself. zenevieva mira novell(the end)
