"Absolutely not," Zen countered in response to the suggestion that they could enchant it to be the color that she desired.
Well, it had been a thought at least, Kaylee considered, slightly disappointed that Zenevieva wasn't even going to entertain the idea. There was always the possibility that it could have gone wrong, which Kaylee guessed that Zen was probably thinking, but it could have been perfectly fine, too!
"I-I’ll just find another…" Zen stated.
"Okay," Kaylee nodded her head, waiting to see what Zen would find among the racks of clothing. There were a lot of dresses, including some that looked far too old for them—Kaylee could see some really deep necklines as Zen browsed through them.
Zen even passed over the black dresses, which Kaylee didn't think would have been bad at all, but the Ravenclaw seemed to have her heart set on blue. Trying to convince her otherwise seemed to be of little use, so Kaylee kept her eyes open for a dress that would miraculously fit all of the criteria that Zen wanted in a dress.
Kaylee followed Zen as she moved towards some other dresses that they hadn't seen yet. Hopefully, Kaylee mused, Zen wasn't pointing them out to use as guidelines for what she absolutely wouldn't touch, since most of them looked really nice. What was more, not all of them were blue.
"T-There! The purple one."
Eyes following the direction in which Zenevieva was pointing, Kaylee grinned. That one—and it wasn't even blue!—had caught Zen's eye, and Kaylee wasn't frustrated by it in the least.
She followed Zen over to the dress in question. It looked like something that Zen would have worn. Besides, if she liked it, that was what mattered most.
"If only it were blue…"
"Maybe they have one in blue in the back?" Kaylee suggested with a hint of hope in her voice. She didn't want Zen to give up on dresses so easily just because they weren't blue to start. As she had said about the previous dress, they could always enchant it to be the right color if that was Zen's only deal-breaker, but Zen had been hesitant about that with the one that she'd just nixed. "I can check with somebody who works here, if you want me to ask for you?"
