Elaine waved her hand at Vik’s mention of the dirty basement. “Come on, are you afraid of a few cobwebs?” she asked teasingly, a flirtatious gleam in her eye. She wanted to remind him of the fun times they had a few weeks ago after all. She walked down into the basement, ducking under some of those cobwebs she had predicted. The stairs were creaky, like many basement steps were, so they would need to be redone. The basement itself however seemed to be mainly used for storing things, as was pretty typical. She did a slow circle, analyzing the area.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw something pretty interesting. “Ooh what’s that?” she asked coyly, taking Viks hand and leading him to the far left corner of the basement where she’d seen the hinges of a door. “Secret room, that wasn’t on my wish list but I’m interested,” she told him softly, leaning back so she was pressed up against him. “Want to do the honors?” she whispered, looking at him intently.

Vik smiled and rolled his eyes at her teasing. Of course he wasn't afraid of cobwebs or spiders or anything else that could be found in a dark place, but he did want to make sure he wasn't going to freak her out. Making Sunny not want to be around him definitely wasn't something on his agenda. "Don't mind them at all," he answered easily, walking with her as they went to the basement and down the stairs. The basement seemed pretty typical to him. Dirty, but with a decent size. He turned when she spoke again, taking his hand as she moved across the room. Vik followed her easily, a slow smile covering his face as he noticed what she had to be talking about. A door in the corner of the room. "Well, I certainly didn't know it was there," he commented softly, his smile growing when she leaned against him, asking if he wanted to do the honors. He nodded, reaching forward and opening the door. It was dark in the room in front of them. Vik couldn't even tell how big the room was or anything. He stepped forward, an interested look in his eyes. This would be fun. "Let's check it out," he whispered before stepping into the room. Elaine Lyra Dupree

Elaine smiled then turned towards the door, her eyes narrowed in concentration. She could tell it was locked, but that was simple enough to fix. The door clicked and creaked open, revealing a dark room. Without even waiting for Viktor, she walked in and pulled out her wand. “Lumos,” she said, and a ball of light hovered over the pair.
The room was...empty. Obviously whoever had lived here, or at least vacated there had cleaned house. But Elaine could tell that the walls were heavily soundproofed, and in the corner she noticed a dark, dried somethng that reminded her of blood. She hid her smirk; whoever had been here before had obviously been her kind of person. She turned to Vik, her lips curving upwards into what she hoped looked like a pleasant smile. “I’ll take it,” she said simply, then curled her arm into the crook of his. “Shall we go celebrate your big sale?” she purred.

Vik let her look at the room as much as she wanted. She seemed to be inspecting it for something. While he didn't understand what she wanted with a hidden room like this, he was pleased that she seemed to like what he'd found. Maybe this would turn out even better than he expected. He didn't really pay any attention to the room, giving it a cursory glance and then looking elsewhere when he realized nothing of real value was inside. Nothing he could sell anyway. Then she was looking at him, smiling and he knew what she was going to say before she said it. Vik allowed himself to smile as well. "Great. I'll get you the paperwork and such," he promised, sure that she wouldn't mind a small delay. He had to make the paperwork, or find it if he really felt like being thorough. "I think that sounds like a wonderful idea," he agreed as he led her from the house. Today had turned out pretty well after all. --- the end --- Elaine Lyra Dupree
