Andy had never been to Greenwich village Park, or the Royal observatory that was there. She was pretty excited that her first time there was being paid for it but Blishwick matchmaking services. She was a little nervous about meeting her date, but she had done this before so it wasn't really that new to her. She wore a black turtleneck and dark maroon leggings, with some calf-high boots. Her hair was down, as usual, but she didn't really work to curl it or straighten it or anything, just let it fall naturally. She arrived right on time, and looked around for the person that would be her date. All she had was a vague description of what they would be wearing, and so she scowered the crowd for them. Finally, her eyes landed on him and she gave a little wave as she started to approach. "Hi, I'm Andy. And you must be Elliot?"@elliot

THERE WAS NO LOGICAL REASON FOR ELLIOT TO sign up for Blishwick's Blind Dating. Maybe because he'd taken that paper, and he'd seen that same garish advertisement. How Jimbo had so easily reeled him in, like a proper salesman. He suddenly felt like he had something to prove. Journalists had done insider pieces on Blishwick's before, but most of them had come back very complimentary. Elliot often wondered if they'd been paid off. Not him, never him. He was there off his own back.
Having been on his fair share of dates, Elliot wasn't exactly nervous when he turned up at the Royal Observatory to meet his supposed 'match'. It was more like anticipation, not for the person who might turn up, but for what he expected to find. Nothing. He expected very little in terms of chemistry or connection. All things boasted by Jimbo and his elusive skills. So, he didn't dress to impress. He wore his simple, worn brown leather jacket over a soft, black cotton t-shirt. His jeans faded at the knee, and his boots a little scuffed at the toe. He wore what he wore everyday. It was going to be dark in the Observatory anyway, right?
With a cigarette hanging from his lips, he waited with his hands in his pockets, the cold nipping at his ears and neck. Burning his cig halfway down, Elliot was just about to look at his watch when he heard a voice call out to him. He turned, half expecting a dull looking figure, or even some Blishwick security telling him that they knew what he was up to. Instead, it was a pretty brunette. Her dark hair sweeping, with cat eyes and long, lithe dancer legs. "Yeah, Elliot," He said, plucking his cigarette from his lips and offering her his other hand. "Suppose you're my date then?" He said obviously, unable to stop himself from laughing a little bit.

Why, why did she always end up with people who smoked? She hated smoking... come to think of it though, she wasn't sure if she put that on her paperwork for Blishwick. She'd do that next time.
Not that there was going to be a next time!
She took his hand, shaking it. He was very cute, and had a nice voice, actually. "That's me. Nice to meet you. Ever been here before?" she asked, nodding toward the observatory. She kind of hoped that he hadn't because that would make all of this a little more fun. Though if he had she didn't really mind letting him lead them through it and telling her his thoughts. Either way, it was sure to be an interesting date. Hopefully fun too, since that was the whole reason she did this.

THE YOUNG WOMAN BEFORE HIM WASN'T BAD looking, which was a bit of a relief. Her dark brown eyes catching his in a way that was probably quite effective on the dating scene. He followed her eyes up to the large building, his lips pulling down at the corners as he shook his head.
"Nah, can't say I have." He admitted, because he rarely took the time out of his day to appreciate Muggle sights. "Do a lot of wizards spend their time in Muggle museums?" He wrinkled his nose at her slightly, chuckling in the back of his throat. It was his honest opinion. Elliot had grown up with a squib for a father, a man who had never really allowed him to appreciate the joys of a wizarding upbringing. Once he'd left that behind, he'd never looked back. "Have you?"

He asked if a lot of wizards spent their time in muggle museums and wrinkled his nose at her. She furrowed her eyebrows together for a moment of contemplation, and he asked her if she had been there before. She shook her head, "No, I haven't. I wasn't really raised on the muggle sight-seeing and all."
She looked back towards the observatory and turned back to Elliot, "It must be something special if Blishwick thought to send us here." She found herself a little surprised that neither Susan nor will had brought her to the royal observatory. She would have thought that her royal friends would have introduced her to the things the royal family had commissioned in the city. Granted, she hadn't been to Buckingham Palace either.
"Let's head on in," she didn't exactly wait for him to respond before walking into the park.

DESPITE THE FACT THAT HIS FATHER WAS A SQUIB and Elliot grew up the way that many conventional muggle-borns would be born - with an added dash of resentment towards magic, from his father - Elliot had distanced himself from that world a long time ago. Having made his peace with their differences. "Me neither," He lied, because his father had been an avid historian, but was such a homebody that when Elliot started at Hogwarts he hadn't left Scotland before.
"Oh, you think?" Elliot asked, deeply suspicious of Blishwick and his 'revolutionary' methods. "I bet he just pulls venues out of a hat." He quirked his brows at her, as in challenge. Would she rush to defend the match-maker, or was she as wary as he was. But, he wasn't suspicious enough to refuse when she suggested they head inside, following close beside her, spurred on by his lengthening curiosity. "Have you been on a Blishwick date before?" He asked, wondering if perhaps it was common for people to return.

He said that he wasn't really raised on muggle things either, but she wasn't really sure if he expected her to say more on that topic. It didn't seem like something worth discussing, the fact that her family had sheltered her from a larger part of the world. Since she had become an adult she had been much more involved in muggle things, especially with Susan.
He suggested that the Matchmaker just drew dates out of a hat, and she shrugged. "I'm sure that he draws them out of the hat for which couple goes where but he has to decide what goes in the hat after all," she questioned. As they moved into the park he asked if she had gone on one of these dates before, she nodded. "Once. A friend set me up and it was actually kind of fun so I thought I would do it again. If nothing else it's a great way to meet new people and I don't know that many people so," she really knew a lot of people, just not well. She wasn't really one for making friends at school. It was kind of nice to have an excuse to chat with someone and get to know them.

BLISHWICK'S COMPANY WAS REGALED FOR ITS stunning ability to find love for almost anyone. However, these trivial little events screamed 'cash cow' to Elliot. He wondered if anyone actually joined because they thought they would find their one true love. Probably, and he thought that was a bit sad. He felt a little better when his date confirmed that she wasn't 'one of those people'. At least he didn't have to feel too guilty about leading her on. It was a shame Jimbo was such a twat, thought Elliot. He'd be almost tolerable if he didn't go to such lengths to keep his business alive. And at whose expense?
"Didn't work out then?" Elliot asked bluntly, his lip catching between his top teeth as he looked at her. There was a little fizzle of satisfaction between his eyes. He'd known it was all bullshit. "I thought Blishwick was all about finding your match?" He took the path up to the Observatory without really stopping to listen to what his date was going to say, pulling the door open and leaning against it so that she could enter first. "I didn't know it was Blishwick's Matchmaking and Friend Finder." Elliot commented with a half laugh. He wasn't making fun of her, more of the establishment itself.

Elliot suggested that her last date didn't work out, and she smirked a tiny bit at that. He added that he thought Blishwick was all about finding your match, ”maybe I did and I'm just looking for another one,” she joked as they walked up the path. Once they entered, he leaned into the door and she went through it, nodding at him. ”Thanks – yeah, I think that most people just end up being friends, honestly. Otherwise, would he really do events so often?” she suggested. She looked up at the ceiling as they entered, nodding her head with a little whistle. Yeah, it was a pretty building, but they still had to go further in to see the real sights. ”And you?” she asked, spinning around to look at him. ”I'm assuming you haven't done one before,” she guessed, just due to his wording of the questions so far.

AT THE WICKED CONFIDENCE IN HER RETORT, Elliot lifted his brows in surprise. Okay, so maybe he had underestimated his date. There was fire in her yet. "Okay, fair do's." He told her with a hearty shrug, laughing around his knuckle as he brushed it sheepishly against the tip of his nose. She'd gotten him there, quite well, too. "Friends." He tutted, sticking his hands in to his pockets and side-eyed the pretty, statuesque brunette. "Is that what we're gonna be, Andy?" He quirked his brows this time, smirking.
"Call it curiosity." He said vaguely, unwilling to reveal himself as a keen disbeliever. In actuality, Elliot was quite eager to poke holes in the whole operation. But, it was decidedly less formal than he'd thought it'd be. Blishwick appeared to let the chips fall where they may. But, then again, he wasn't unimpressed with his match either. She was gorgeous, wicked and utterly fascinating. He hated Blishwick just a little more for being interested. "And I'm not bored yet."
[sorry about the delay, do you want to wrap this up on your end?]

He asked if they were going to be friends and she raised an eyebrow, then lowered it back down. "I suppose that's possible. Maybe more, maybe a hook up, you never know," she retorted. He was interesting enough so far, even if he did have that smoking habit she hated so much. If Blishwick was so smart, why didn't he catch that? Either way, when he said he was curious and that he wasn't bored yet, she smirked. "You won't be," she promised. Andy was a lot of things. Scary, intense, smart, loving, devoted, angry, crazy... But she wasn't boring. (lol speaking of delay. THE END! We can talk off screen about how it went hehe)
