december 21, 2024 One of the many things that Jamie had missed while away was the return of her brother to her side of the Atlantic Ocean. It was strange, because even though she was intellectually aware that her brother was back in the United Kingdom, emotionally she couldn't quite believe it. Her heart and her head were at odds a rather lot these days, it seemed to Jamie. It didn't matter, though, because now that she was back in the wizarding side of things, she could see Adrian again. The winter festival at Hogsmeade had just begun, and offered an easy venue to meet at, as well as a variety of places to explore. Jamie didn't want things to get awkward between her and her brother, and she was hoping that something to do would keep any silences to a manageable level. That was also why she had decided to start with food - if things got too horrible, they could both stuff their mouths with pretzels and pretend that was the reason they weren't talking. (Jamie was kind of a genius, and not afraid to admit it.)

Jamie was headed back to America in two days but he was happy to spend some time with Jamie before then. They had been in contact since he got home but she wasn't around and he was at school and they were just now seeing each other, which seemed wrong. Adrian and Jamie had become... close, even if he had a hard time with all the new siblings at first. Lily made sure that Adrian didn't ruin those relationships, even if sometimes he really wanted out. But, in the long term, he knew it was best for him to remain close to his half siblings. And to Lily. He approached The Roasted Knut, the meeting place they agreed upon. She was easy to spot and upon seeing her he grinned, shaking his head in disbelief. "Jamie, Jamie, Jamie. Back from the dead, basically."@jamie

Her brother didn’t take long to make his appearance, and Jamie smiled at Adrian as he repeated her name thrice over before saying that she was basically back from the dead. “You’re back from America, which is the same thing,” she teased, unable to think of anything else to say. She knew that Adrian didn’t really do the whole crying-with-joy thing that she was anticipating from some of her other siblings, but it was kind of nice to have him treat her like a long-lost friend instead of a broken thing that needed to be repaired.
“Do you want anything to eat?” Jamie asked. “I thought a bratwurst might be right up your alley.” Adrian was German, after all. “My treat,” she added. Jamie didn’t know much, but she did know there was no way any teenage boy could say no to free food.

He chuckled at her tease, shaking his head a little. Jamie was always a ray of sunshine, somehow, even in dark times and he appreciated that. "Well, back for school. Ma still lives there," he pointed out. She asked if he wanted anything to eat, suggesting bratwurst even. He grinned, nodding, "well, as long as you are paying I suppose it's a good idea. Plus, we are at a festival with food and all, right?" he agreed. He kept his hands in the pockets of his jacket as he stepped up beside her so she could take the lead on ordering such food, but then he shifted his elbow toward her so he could nudge her arm, "it's really good to see you, sis," he added quietly. Adrian wasn't one for overdoing sentimentality. Plus, it didn't really feel like they'd been separated that long. Nah, it was natural.
