Well, this was an interesting turn of events. The collection of stolen wallets and knick-knacks in Rai's pockets seemed obsolete right now compared to the beasts flying overhead. Normall a thief would be glad at any sort of panic that made people more careless with their belongings, but this was not one of those times. This, was terrifying. Rai had never been a big duelist when it came to wand fighting, but she could work a bow staff like she was born with one in her hand. She reached behind onto her back where the staff was tucked away and folded up. She whipped it out, pressing the appropriate button until it was full length. Granted, her current staff was made of wood... wood and dragons didn't mix well. She held her ground, though, and gritted her teeth, bending her knees in a preparation to charge on of them that was swooping down.... @kyle

@railynn XX.XX.2024 Just another normal winter day in Hogsmeade, the sights, the sounds, even the smells brought back memories of school. It was always nice to make it back here each year in the winter. The people around were all in great moods and were full of holiday spirit. For now. Kyle spent most of the morning perusing the store fronts and grabbing a few small things he needed from some of the shops. As he stepped out of the shop front of the candy store, a chocolate front squirming in his right hand, there was a massive crash followed by screaming and then suddenly a flash of movement and bright orange light from above. Stumbling and falling backward against a snow back Kyle dropped the frog as it hopped away finding its way close to a burning piece of wood and melting against the snow.
Kyle was not completely grasping what was happening at the moment. As he scrambled to his feet still trying to gather himself. It was almost as if the ringing in his ears was disorienting him to feel dizzy. So he grabbed hold of a wall next to himself quickly gaining his balance. As he looked forward down the street, he saw a young woman in the door of a building pull a staff from her back and pull it in front of her into an attack stance. Confused, and really only being able to focus on her with all the chaos around them, Kyle pulled his wand and quickly darted toward her. ”Hey are you ok!! Oh man, above you watch out!!!” His words were cut off when he noticed a large wooden beam falling toward the woman. Kyle flicked his wand slightly as he pointed toward the woman. ”Protego!” A shimmering half sphere bubbles around her as the beam smashed against it cracking then splintering onto the ground around her.

Before Rai charged someone ran up to her, asking if she was okay and telling her to watch our for what was above her. She was almost ready to make a snarky comment about the dragons, all in good fun, but then he cast a protective charm and stopped a beam from almost crushing her. Her eyes widened and she instinctively ducked, but his bubble of protection stopped the beam from coming down. She caught her breath, looking back at him, "thank you!" she breathed, taking the necessary steps toward him until she was by his side. "I owe you one, or maybe my whole life," she commented again, clapping a hand onto his shoulder. Being a thief and all, she had no issue with brief contact with strangers. She pulled her hand back, looking toward the skies, "any idea as to why we're being assaulted by dragons!?" she asked him, sure that he didn't know but there was no harm in checking. One of the dragons landed on the ground only fifty feet away from them. It turned it's face in their direction, but someone fired a shot at it from another side and it was momentarily distracted. @kyle

@railynn XX.XX.2024 Kyle watched as the support beam splintered and fell to the ground, the shimmering barrier of his protection spell faded. This was all so crazy, and Kyle was so caught off guard by everything. The whole situation started to happen so fast, that he was just starting to look around at what was going down around him. The chaos of the moment seemed almost unreal, there were people running for cover, buildings on fire all over the street, and products and items from destroyed shop fronts strewn about. The heat from the dragons’ rampage was causing the snow to rapidly melt and fill the air in the street with a thin mist. Kyle watched as massive forms swooped across the rooftops in a rapid blur of motion, Kyle could only fear what terrible things were happening all around them at that moment.
He was glad that the woman was ok and that his spell had worked. She turned and thanked him and he saw her for the first time. She was so uniquely beautiful, she had dark curly hair, endlessly deep eyes that her almost got lost in, and the most amazing smile. For a moment he forgot that there was a calamity happening all around them as her looked at her. But this was only for a moment as he saw a large dragon land across the road from them, part of it’s massive rear legs crushing a section of store front as its weight shifted backward, the distinctive sound of crushing tile cracked below it. ” Oh man don’t mention it!” He replied with a smile, as the two of them stood side by side now. He raised his wand more up into a ready position trying to remain ready in case the need for another quick spell arose. As the two took a step to the side it was almost as if they were in unison, he could tell that she had experience in tricky situations before. Kyle was light on his feet because of his many years of athletics playing Quidditch, and now more then ever he was appreciative of the fact that his body was working through the adrenaline rather then crumpling under the duress. ”I haven’t the faintest idea where they came from but this is ridiculous either way! I’m not sure if we’ll last long face to face with these things though, Merlin knows that they don’t train us in ‘Dragon Fighting’ in school!” He continued to move in unison with the woman as the pair protected each other’s blind spots as they assessed their current situation.

He smiled at her, and she couldn't help but grin back. There was nothing quite like a good looking guy fighting a bunch of dragons and saving your life. He said he had no idea where the dragons came from - suggesting that they wouldn't last long since they didn't learn dragon training in school. She laughed aloud, "hah! That's a good point. but we had to learn SOMETHING about their week points, didn't we?" she tried to recall, turning to press her back against his so that she could assess the other side. Another dragon was not far off, slithering on the ground with large eyes. It's eyes fixed on Rai, and she pushed her back even harder against his. "I'm Rai, by the way. Gryffindor Alumni, class of 2018. And we should definitely do something quick," she said slowly, swallowing hard. @kyle
